It was Saturday, and it was Halloween. Saphira spent a lot of time getting herself prepared. She had a plan to infiltrate some of the more sensitive areas of the pizzaplex. She had studied the utility tunnels over the last couple days and she was able to find the hallway the pumpkin face bots would enter and leave from. She had to make sure if that was correct, but it was. She was surprised Glitchtrap did not cause static across the cameras whenever the staff bots would roll by, but she suspected he was focused on something else. Though she did not know what it was.
Vanessa had been acting more nervous as well. It seemed as though she had been shaken by something, and Saphira had caught glimpses of bruising on the woman's upper arms and lower back. She could not say for certain on what the cause was, but Springtrap had control of the normal staff bots. There was a chance something was done to Vanessa to punish her, so to speak. Saphira didn't particularly care though. Vanessa seemed to avoid her now, and she was okay with that. The less attention she had, the better.
Saphira hummed to herself as she finished applying makeup to her face. She was very pleased with her work. She had gone with a few outfits, as she planned on changing her outfits to ensure she wouldn't be seen very easily. Even by the animatronics. She had a witch outfit put together, going with a dark, purple corset and a wide, black skirt. She was lucky her stomach would be mostly hidden by it, but it would not be perfect.
The second outfit she designed to look a bit like a show, clown, dress costume with fake, blood stains on it. The patterns actually looked like the game of cards was sewn in. There were spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs all over the patterns, and it took a dark orange and black design with long sleeves. She had a pair of black legging to go with it. She would actually only change the dress and shoes, not her leggings. She was not interested in doing that.
And the final outfit she chose is an outfit to make her look a bit like a wraith. The outfit is a dress with a transparent helm. The dark grey outfit was light and moved around easily. The helm itself had orange at the bottom and she paired this outfit with a pair of black shoes. The other two had dark, orange sandals that went well with them.
She also had made a masquerade mask. A simple mask with curved fins either side with orange glitter. She would wear this with her witch outfit. Aside from the outfit, she had gone and put orange streaks in her hair with purple tips. Normally, she would not dye her beautiful, black hair. But she actually quite liked how it came out. She had thought about just using extensions or a wig, but went with dye. As for her makeup, she had a golden, smokey orange eyeshadow with mascara and eyeliner with a wing. She used golden highlights and golden-brown bronzer, changing her pale complexion slightly. She applied glittery orange lipstick as one of the last touches.
The real kicker would be a pair of coloured contacts she had purchased. She treated them first before putting them in. As a result, her green eyes now looked bright yellow. It would be extremely hard for anyone to recognize her if they were looking for her. She looked too different. She looked pregnant, but there will be a lot of pregnant women at the attraction tonight, and Saphira knew it. She was really pleased with how she looked, even though it took quite a bit of work and she was exhausted from it. She gave herself sometime to relax and decide on wearing the wraith outfit first.
She did plan to still communicate with the animatronics if they speak with her, but she planned on remaining distant. Saphira had informed Darren it will be there job to find her, like Where's Wally. He thought she was joking, but he would soon find out. She knew what outfit he would be wearing as he sent her a picture of it while she was getting ready. A black suit with glittery, laughing pumpkins all over it. He still had his style and she was happy for him.
The last thing she had was a white back with an angry ghost face on it where she will carry the clothes, and a small laptop with a connection cord and a USB. She had everything she needed to use for tonight. She just hoped it would work. She did know Glitchtrap would guess she would disguise herself, but he probably wouldn't know how much she was disguising herself. She packed makeup remover as well, as she generally didn't like wearing makeup for long periods of time. Once she had everything, she made her way out of the apartment to her car in the parking garage and drove to the pizzaplex.
Saphira didn't feel confident or nervous about the plan she had. She simply knew she had to do it. She placed her hand on her stomach knowing that if she did not do it, the twins would be forced to become puppets for evil. And she would likely be killed once she no longer had any use. This was a fight that she had to go through in order to make her future good. And she was glad she wasn't as weak as she used to be. If she was, she probably would have accepted her fate.
But I will not let anyone beat me. Not my birth parents, not Springtrap, not anyone. Not anymore.
When she arrived at the lot, it was packed. Saphira was lucky she had decided to arrive early before the big show, as most people arrive thirty minutes before the show. But she arrived an hour early so she could get to the office. She knew she might get some odd looks, but she didn't care. With how busy it was going to be in the pizzaplex, Saphira knew it will make things much harder for Glitchtrap to even keep watch of her. It didn't matter how many bots were on the floor either.
Saphira hummed softly as she made her way into the building. She looked at all the excited people who have arrived and entered through the entrance into the lobby of the pizzaplex. She smiled as she saw many people were dressed up. There was a competition for dressing up tonight too, so people were encouraged to dress up for it. The prizes mostly included free tickets, food, drink, arcade tokens, but people dressed up for the fun of it.
There would also be Trick or Treating later where people would have to locate the staff bots with the candy containers to receive a candy bar or chocolate bar for themselves. And it will only be one per person so everyone gets a fair amount. Saphira knew that the system was programmed for that, but she did also know that some people will still try to get more than one. The security bots will be on stand by and keeping a close eye on people if that is the case. The staff bots go by their programming that people will have a hard time getting by them
She gazed around at the familiar lobby, gazing at the golden, Glamrock Freddy statue. She smiled. She remembered when she first arrived in the pizzaplex. She knew it had been a little over eight months since she started working here. And she never once thought that her life would change too dramatically. She had come here for the need to pay her rent, now it has literally become something she cared about. She could see herself running the place if Springtrap was out of the way permanently. She didn't even know if it was possible to kill something that was already dead though.
And she's seen the different places that have been added. She remembers the area above the lobby being constructed when she arrived, the completion of the karaoke bar, and soon she would witness the opening of Chica Coaster tonight and Spacebridge should be finished in a few months. Even though funding had been reduced for construction of these places, Chica Coaster being finished means the funding that was used to go to the construction of it will be moved to other projects. Roxy's Bumper Cars might take longer, as apparently there was issues with the area being safe and stable, so there's a lot of readjusting to the foundation of the ride to make it safe before anything else was put on.
Space Bridge had the elevator finished and area built above the atrium. But the attractions that are meant to be built in there will take longer. She knew Pigpatch Spacerock Candy was mostly finished, along with Glamstar Rock. Mostly because one is a candy store and the other will be a merchandise store. Planet Foxette, Countdown, Orville's Time Magic and Happy Frog World Explorations will be the last to be completed. Orville's Time Magic was half complete, while the others were still in the early stages. She looked forward to when this was all finished.
Getting past that, Saphira made her way through the entrance barriers to head to the atrium. She continued to hum softly as she walked through the lobby to the stairs to head up to the elevators. She glanced around curiously and she did not see a great many staff bots around, there were a few mopping up some spills, but nothing that they could not handle. She took a bit of time getting to the elevators as there were a lot of people, so it was a bit annoying.
Once she reached the elevators, she stood to the side and ignored the excited guests who were chatting to each other. They didn't really care that she was there in the elevator with them and she followed them out onto the second floor of the atrium once the doors were open. She grimaced and almost gagged loudly when she caught the scent of cheese pizza. And there was a lot of cheese pizza tonight due to the amount of people here. She reminded herself that she was fine and made her way to the bottom floor to head to the office. She knew she would likely be noticed by Glitchtrap due to the fact she was heading to the office, but she didn't care.
She glanced around and smiled when she spotted Roxy and Monty in the dining room. They were telling scary stories to the guests who were there. They seemed to get a lot of stories uploaded into their system for them to tell the guests each year, and that was fine. Mr Hippo was sitting in a chair with many kids gathered around him, and he was also telling them a scary story. For some reason, a rather weird version about trolls under the bridge. She had no idea how they had these stories uploaded or where the stories had come from. But she didn't let that get to her head.
She walked over to the security door and opened it, walking into the tunnel to the elevator. She still felt creeped out by the long hallway, even though she has walked up it many, many times. Because it was a dim lit, dull hallway compared to the bright areas of the pizzaplex, it just gave her the creeps. She was used to it, of course, but she still felt goose bumps each time she walked through it. Saphira made her way to her elevator and head up to her office. She wanted to wait a little bit before she would decide on heading to the utility tunnels.
Once she was in the office, she relaxed and listened to some music for thirty minutes. She went through the cameras and located all the animatronics. Freddy, Bonnie, Pigpatch and Foxette were all in the party rooms currently. Sun was playing ping pong with a few teenagers, Foxy was at Kid's Cove, sitting on a box and telling a pirate story to the kids who were there with him. Chica was doing some Meet and Greets in Rockstar Row, and Orville and Happy Frog appeared to be dancing to Thriller in Glam Corner. At least, it looked like that from the cameras as she recognized the dance, making her amused when she saw it.
With that, Saphira took the moment to eat some snack bars as she felt peckish. She did have some food earlier, but being hungry was pretty normal. She brought a jar of peanut butter too and she had celery with her as well. She dipped the celery pieces into the peanut butter to eat happily while she waited for thirty minutes before she felt satisfied and would head back out into the atrium. She did not change just yet as she wanted to just walk around casually.
When she went back to the atrium, Saphira casually made her way to Rockstar Row. She enjoyed the music in the pizzaplex too. It was still playing the normal song, but it had a darker tone to it. It made the atmosphere feel different, and it was pretty cool. She spotted a lot of the pumpkin face bots around, and they were glancing in her direction. Saphira couldn't help but chuckle a little to herself as she knew Glitchtrap had indeed identified her. But that was going to change very soon. Especially as the main show would be starting in thirty minutes. The animatronics would be on their way to Parts and Service at this time to get ready on the stage. And the crowds will keep him occupied.
Saphira entered Rockstar Row and she was startled as she almost walked right into Freddy as he was speaking to a young girl who was telling him how amazing he was. She knew he had finished being in the birthday party at the party rooms a little while ago. "Oh, sorry!" She exclaimed, getting his surprised attention before she changed her tone a little to not sound like herself. "I did not mean to almost run into you, Freddy. I was just searching for my family. Seems like they've decided to fan out while I was distracted by something in the shops."
Freddy smiled at her politely. "Apology accepted, young lady." He glanced at the young girl who seemed to be about six. "It has been wonderful meeting you, young Abby. I have heard that school can sometimes be a scary place to be, but it should not be. If you ever have a bad day, look at the plush your have of me and remember I am there for you. Even when you cannot see me."
Saphira smiled as that was so sweet of him to tell the girl and the little girl hugged the animatronic's leg happily. Freddy accepted the hug and rubbed the top of her head. She walked away as she did not want to distract them, but she did see at the corner of her eye that Freddy looked in her direction. He has a suspicious expression and Saphira could not help but be amused. She might have accidently given herself away, but he probably struggled recognizing her due to the dye in her hair, makeup and the contacts in her eyes.
She did act like she was looking around though, so at least it might make him believe she wasn't Saphira, but she did not know. She would certainly confirm it later. However, as the crowds began to leave Rockstar Row, she slipped into the nearby bathroom to get changed. It was relatively empty in the bathroom as most guests were in the atrium at this time. But there was still enough women and girls using the bathroom that it wouldn't matter too much.
She stepped inside the cubicle and slipped off the dress quickly before slipping on the clown dress. She changed her shoes from the black shoes she was wearing before to the sandals. She was happier in the sandals as they were a little more comfortable on her feet. Once she was done, she left the cubicle, unintentionally startling a few people due to her outfit, washed her hands and left the bathroom. She saw a couple pumpkin face bots rolling by, but they seem to ignore her. She had no doubt they were thinking she was still wearing the wraith costume.
Saphira made her way to the convenience counter to make it seem like she would purchase something. She did not want to make herself look obvious, because that would defeat the purpose. She stayed in the store for at least fifteen minutes until one of the staff members began closing down one of the registers. Saphira made her way out so she would not inconvenience them. She glanced at her Fazwatch and saw that the show would start in fifteen minutes. The animatronics will be below the stage right now, preparing for the show.
She didn't see any other people in Rockstar row, and no staff bots. This was her only chance. She glanced up briefly at the security camera looking towards Freddy's room, knowing it couldn't see her, before pushing the red doors to the utility tunnels open and closing them carefully. She let out a sigh of relief before she made her way down. She knew the workers of the utility tunnels will have gone home at this point.
Hopefully if I do this right, I'll be back in time to change again so I can be there to make the official opening announcement for Chica Coaster.
Saphira carefully made her way down the stairs. She was so glad her stomach was not yet massive as she certainly would not want to do this at all if she was bigger. And since she was not huge yet, she was glad she could still do this. She was weary that she could run into one of Glitchtrap's bots in the tunnels, so she would be extra careful. She was fully aware that hiding won't be as easy as it used to be too, so she would need to think fast on her feet and her responses needed to be quick as possible too.
Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs and stepping out into the tunnel, Saphira carefully looked around her surroundings. There were still cameras down here, but she had some confidence that Glitchtrap was not paying attention to them down here. At least, that is what she was hoping for. She took a deep breath, grabbing her flashlight out of the back and turning it on. She knew which tunnel to go through, so she didn't have to search down the different tunnels she has yet to go down. But there was still that possibility.
She did still have the worry at the back of her mind on what would happen if she was caught. She didn't want to imagine what would happen. She's already been in the basement held by chains. She did not want to go through that again. But that was the risk she was taking to beat Glitchtrap and Springtrap. She did wish she had Freddy with her right now, but he would be almost ready to get on stage, and she did not want to disturb him. She had turned her com link off at the moment as she did not want to draw attention to herself from having a conversation with him. She wanted to, but she wasn't about to expose herself.
She did notice that there was some building equipment here that will be taken to Roxy's Bumper Cars and Spacebridge, which was good to see. A lot of the building equipment for Roxy's Bumper Cars was down here currently while the foundation of the attraction is fixed. But Saphira did wonder what they meant by the foundation. It seemed weird since she thought there was something stable underneath the attraction. Maybe there was, but it hasn't been maintained properly.
It actually would not surprise me. A lot of the staff areas get much less love than the rest of the pizzaplex.
It took ten minutes of cautiousness before Saphira reached the dark hallway where the pumpkin face bots have come out from. She hoped none would go back in there at this time. She jumped when she heard the Fazwatch go out and looked at it to see she received a message from Freddy. He must have been worried about her if he tried reaching out to her. She did not get the chance to read though when she heard the sound of a staff bot rolling from the tunnel. She turned off her flashlight and hid underneath a table, keeping as close to the shadow as possible. There was another table turned on its side next to the table she was under, with the top of the table almost right in front of her.
She watched as several bots roll out of the tunnel and made a left, rolling away from her. Saphira was most certain he was making these bots as the bots she had seen looked new compared to the normal staff bots. She was glad they didn't turn her direction, but she would definitely believe they wouldn't see her unless they actually looked in her direction. She didn't really know how good their vision was.
She waited for a few minutes before moving out from under the table and looking around. She made sure there was no other bots before turning her flashlight back on and making her way into the tunnel. It was very dark, even with the flashlight. She barely saw anything. She could feel heat coming from this tunnel. She remembered feeling heat from an odd tunnel months ago, and it never occurred to her what the reason for that was. Now she knew, and she made her way down the tunnel carefully. If any of the bots were to come out now, Glitchtrap will find her, and she will be in big trouble.
She didn't know how long the tunnel was, but after a few minutes, she came to a dark, solid door. It raised automatically upon sensing movement and Saphira was met with a very large mainframe. Saphira stepped inside and looked around, gasping when she saw a staff bot repair conduit and a staff bot creator conduit. She was right. Glitchtrap was making his own. These machines weren't active right now. She glanced around and she was surprised that there were no cameras.
I guess there was confidence that no one would find this place. I could probably do a bit of damage with a little bit of sabotage.
But Saphira ignored the staff bot machines for now. She did make sure there was no bot hanging around as she made her way over to the massive mainframe. She moved to hide behind it in case a staff bot is created while she was here. She found this was painfully messier than the regular staff bot mainframe. Wires were all over the place, and she saw many of the wires had no coverings, with some sparks flying from them. She made sure to avoid touching them as she knew she would get a shock.
When she found herself in front of a screen, she saw the Glitchtrap virus. She knew it was a virus based on the codes that she could see. She thought about using the small laptop she brought to upload it, but realized she would likely bring a piece of Glitchtrap with her. She did not want to do that. So she grabbed out her phone instead to record the virus program instead. She would be able to study it later. She turned her flashlight off and recorded the screen quietly.
In the meantime, she took the opportunity to look at her Fazwatch to read the message Freddy had sent to her. She hoped that she would not find herself in trouble by reading the message, but she was hidden, the flashlight was off and there were no cameras. Glitchtrap would not be able to find her at this time. So she should be fine. She might respond to his message, but she didn't want to interrupt the show as she knew he would get distracted by her response.
'Evening, Saphira.
I tried to reach you through the communications link, and I did not get anything but static from your end. You have me extremely concerned. I hope you are not in any danger. If you are maybe still at your home, and overslept, I would understand. Though I know you have never muted the communication link before, so I know this is definitely not like you.
However, I do believe I might have seen you already. A young, pregnant woman ran into me earlier and she sounded a lot like you. She was dressed up in a silvery dress with orange streaks and purple tips in her hair. I am not sure if that was you, and I would like to confirm it was you. Even though she had yellow eyes, not green. But I am aware of contact lenses, and they can come in colors to make your eyes look different. I am not sure if it was deliberate though as I am aware you have been working on a plan for the last few days.
I do hope you are well and safe. I love you, super star. I hope to see you at Chica Coaster sometime after the show. Darren will be putting on his own show. I am not sure what, exactly, but he told us to expect a thrill of a show as the coaster is unveiled to the public. Whatever it will be, I am sure it will be very entertaining for all of us. I do hope you will make it, and you are unharmed. Especially as I have noticed there are a lot more pumpkin face staff bots around, which has me concerned for your safety.
Please respond to me soon, super star. I miss you.'
Saphira smiled as she read through the message. She could almost hear Freddy's voice just by reading the text. She did not mean to make him worry, but she was. She would reply to him soon and tell him everything. She looked at her phone and stopped recording and took an extra photo just in case. However, she froze when she heard the sound of bot machine turn on. She carefully peered around the corner of the mainframe to see that arms of the machine moving and building a new staff bot.
And it was moving rather quickly as these machines are very fast and efficient in building new staff bots. Saphira watched quietly as the machine made one and the bot's eyes turned on, briefly shining purple before turning white. She remained still so she would not be seen as the bot rolled away for a moment and stopped in front of the door entrance. Another bot was already being made and Saphira was forced to wait until there were four more of these bots and they roll away once the machine stopped.
Saphira tiptoed out from behind the mainframe and quickly ran over to the door as it began to roll down and saw the dim light at the end of the tunnel. She saw the shadows of the staff bots and they roll out of the tunnel, turning left as the previous ones did. She was glad as she walked out of the room quickly and keeping her steps as light as possible. She didn't turn her flashlight on just yet as she didn't want them to see her.
When she reached the end of the tunnel, she peered outside to make sure the coast was clear before she made her way back to the stairs. She was moving a little faster this time as she didn't want to stay in the tunnel for much longer. As much as she has gotten confident coming down here, she hasn't exactly had any good memories and she wanted out. She reached the stairs and climbed them, and it became a torturous activity for her back as she climbed them. She was inwardly regretting choosing to use the stairs instead of the elevator, but it would draw more attention.
When she finally reached the top, she let herself calm down so she didn't look like she was struggling to breath when she walked into Rockstar Row. She relaxed upon reaching Rockstar Row and made her to the atrium. When she opened the door, she smiled as she saw a lot of guests dancing to the song the animatronics were singing. She knew that the costume competition would come up afterwards before the Chica Coaster would be unveiled, so she took the opportunity to move through the crowds over to another bathroom. She could have gone back to the office, but she used the crowds as a cover.
She changed into the witch outfit and put her masquerade mask on. She smiled at herself when she glanced at the mirror and walked out. She moved her body to dance to the music as she slowly made her way up to the third floor to reach the attraction. When she reached the third floor, she spotted Darren. He had a concerned expression on his face as he watched the show as she slowly approached him.
"What has got you down?" The man jumped with a sharp gasp as he turned to her in shock and stared at her. "Did something happen, Darren? That sparkly, pumpkin face suit must be making you worry or something. Maybe false paranoia."
He listened to her and smiled a little. "Saphira? Is that you?" She nodded with a big grin. "Wowsa! You look so different. I…I don't think I would have recognized you at all. You had me and the animatronics worried when you didn't respond to them. And Freddy mentioned he saw someone who sounded like you, but he could not be sure."
"Oh no, he saw me. I almost gave myself away." Saphira walked up to the railing, placing her hand on the rails to relax against. "I just had to do something. Having a disguise was necessary."
Darren placed his hand on her shoulder and rubbed gently. "You're a daring, young, woman, Saphira. I am not sure what you have done, but I really, really hope that it won't come back to bite you."
She shrugged a bit as she didn't think it would. "I think it will bite someone else, not me."
Darren seemed rather unsure. "Well…I am not sure. But…" He glanced over his shoulder as one of the pumpkin face bots approached. Saphira turned her head and was not as worried about them seeing her now. He looked at Saphira with a sympathetic expression. "At least you won't be sick for the rest of the night." Saphira looked at him, almost confused, only for him to give her an expression to just play along with what he was saying. "The smell of the pizza won't always make you sick."
"I can't be sure, honestly," Saphira said, with a near perfect timed gag. She was actually startled by the gag as she didn't feel it coming, but she rubbed her neck and sighed deeply. "It gets annoying. I'll probably have something after the coaster unveiling."
"Sounds like a plan." The bot rolled away, seemingly satisfied, though they could not be sure. Darren leaned closer to her. "There's a lot of them, Saphira. I think he's planning something. It is Halloween. You should stick close to us. Vanessa is hiding in her room right now too."
Saphira didn't argue that Glitchtrap did have a plan for her tonight. She actually had no doubt about it. Being a night where scares happen, she would be shocked if Glitchtrap left her alone. But she wouldn't have any idea what he planned. Still, she was interested to see what kind of performance Darren had planned for the unveiling, too. She had a faint idea of what he was going to do based on what Freddy's message said, but she would need to see it to believe it. She was just happy she went into the utility tunnels without incident. She could only hope that Glitchtrap did not see her.
