I apologize for so many time skips, I promise this is the last one. I didn't expect this story to be so long, and I did not want to turn it into two books. I know everyone is still enjoying the story and thanks for being along for the ride.
Two Months Later…
Tired and irritated did not even begin to describe how Saphira felt. It was the new year now at the pizzaplex, and she would normally have given birth by now. But she wasn't. Her body wasn't even showing signs she was close yet. She was almost nine months along now, and Saphira just wished it was over. The twins were very active now, and it was something that she was irritated with. She knew she could not stop them, but she tries to soothe their activity by walking and play music, but nothing actually worked. Sleep was something she hasn't had for weeks now. And her libido has faded at this point. And Freddy was okay with it. He was more worried about hurting the twins anyway.
As for Glitchtrap, Saphira ended up having terrible morning sickness the past month again, and it made it difficult to finish the program. She was done now, as she was preparing to get rid of him within the week. She has learned from overhearing conversations between Springtrap and Vanessa that there was no backup for Glitchtrap. Once the virus is gone, he is gone. The only place to even find the virus is the Princess Quest machines.
And the kid that Springtrap brainwashed seemed to be given the same distortion disc as what Vanessa has been using. But Saphira had completed tests recently, and she was going to order new eyes for the animatronics now she found the right frequency. Saphira did find glimpses and evidence that a child was squatting in this building. She's even noticed that there was someone with extremely high scores on the arcade machines. That was the weird part as she didn't think Springtrap would want him to do that, unless there was a part of the child still present in that mind.
But the one thing she was more concerned about right now was evidence of her own family visiting the pizzaplex. It seemed they were making a regular trip. She did know why they were coming here. She's seen her mother, sisters, father and uncle, and several cousins more than a few times. She's lucky that they won't actually see her out of the office, but something was really weird. It seemed they were looking for her.
After all, when Saphira pointed out one of her cousins to Roxy, that said cousin asked about the security guard. Roxy only told her cousin about Vanessa, and not her. It was weird and scary they were asking about her. Someone had tipped them off about her, and Saphira didn't really know who. She doubted Springtrap would do that since he wants her twins to be healthy, and Vanessa follows his every command. She could only conclude that it was Glitchtrap. It is no secret Saphira's past is horrible. She's been through so much, and she simply wishes for a peaceful life. But it seems Glitchtrap was pulling more strings to get his way, even if it meant forfeiting Springtrap's plan.
And the plan to create Glamrock Fredbear has unfortunately hit a rock. The system is not accepting the animatronic design, and Saphira hasn't been able to find a way around it. It was upsetting to Darren as he wanted to create the animatronic, but if it wasn't possible to create, Saphira wasn't going to force the system to do that. Saphira didn't even know if it was possible, even after removing Glitchtrap, to make the system work for them. The Parts and Service system was actually not part of the pizzaplex mainframe. Saphira accidently discovered this when a wall panel fell in Parts and Service, revealing computers that were powering the room. She didn't really know why, but she suspected Springtrap could be controlling it, but she wasn't sure. But it was way better than giving Glitchtrap the satisfaction to hurt the animatronics within the cylinder.
Right now, it was Monday, and Saphira was sitting in the office listening to some music. She had her feet raised on another chair and she was going through an online store with bassinets. She had begun to plan for the twins as she wanted to give them the best. But she wasn't sure where to house them. She couldn't bring them to her apartment, and Saphira likely will leave the apartment when Springtrap is defeated. However, Darren has been sorting that out, and he says there are a lot of empty rooms in the pizzaplex that never get used that could be turned into a living space. A better space than the office, and he's already organized renovations to start. Thankfully, there are no cameras in that area, so Glitchtrap would have no visual of the place.
But as Saphira was nearly nine, whole, months along she didn't have a lot of time to prepare the nursery. She had already begun to buy packs of diapers as she knew she was going to need them. She had a heap of boxes in her apartment already, and she had begun moving some to the office. She was excited to meet her twins. She did not know what they will be when they were born, but that did not worry her one bit. She was also thinking about names. She had been so worried about other things, she had only just started to think about names.
She turned her head when she heard the elevator doors open and she chuckled when she saw Freddy. "You're breaking protocol again, Freddy," Saphira teased as he walked towards her with a smile. "It is nine-thirty, you should be back in your room. Not in this office with me."
"I know, super star," Freddy responded gently as he reached the desk and leaned down to kiss her, making her smile against his lips. "But with you so tired, I find it so hard to stay away now." He placed his hand on her stomach and she grimaced when she felt kicks in response to Freddy's touch. "I see those two are still giving you trouble."
"Yeah…but there is not much I can do about it," She said with a deep sigh, caressing her stomach gently before smiling again. "Well, I know you are breaking protocol, but I am glad you are here. Especially since last month was so horrible."
"I know. You had us so worried, Saphira. Watching your body lose weight and strength as your stomach grew bigger…" He kissed her head and she wrapped her arms around his neck gently. "It was horrible. At least now, you could eat out the entire pizzeria and still be hungry."
"Yep, we certainly can," Saphira said with a confident smile. She looked at the screen and gestured to it. "So I have been looking at some bassinets for the twins." Freddy looked at the screen curiously and smiled as he saw the images of the bassinets. "I have always loved bassinets, they look some comfortable to me. Anyway, what do you think of these designs?"
Freddy gazed at the different bassinets that were presented to him on the screen. He already liked what he was seeing, but he also knew something else. "That are lovely, Saphira. Very lovely. But would you not want something that represents the pizzaplex?"
"Oh, Freddy. I would, but it is nice to have something different. Besides, they're not going to care what bed they're sleeping in, not until they are much older and have their own sense of style." She placed her hand on his cheek lovingly as she knew where he was coming from. "How about we wait until they are older before deciding whether or not they want a room with some form of Glamrock design?"
"I suppose it is true…though I guess I want to…be a part in other ways than helping. If you know what I mean." She chuckled softly and kissed him gently. "However, I know that I should not be selfish. I do not know how to be selfish, unless it is about you, of course." She chuckled again as Freddy was sometimes funny unintentionally, but it never bothered her at all. "They are very lovely bassinets, Saphira. But how do you know which one to pick?"
"I honestly do not care about color because one might be girl or boy," Saphira responded softly, looking back at the screen. "I could pick any of these designs and I would love it. It will only be when they're much older when they can start picking the colors they like. By then, they will be too big and too old to sleep in these bassinets."
"Yeah." Freddy stared at the screen for a moment and looked at Saphira curiously. "I will admit, I do wish that I could make you pregnant." She looked at him in surprise at his comment. "I may not have the right…requirement, but I have wondered if it was possible. I know I will love these twins, and I still wish it was me, not Springtrap, that made you pregnant."
She smiled at him as she understood what he was saying. "I understand. I think I will look into the possibility, but…I don't know, Freddy. This pregnancy has not been easy. And I don't just mean because of Glitchtrap. I mean physically it has been hard. My cravings might have changed to eating steak every day with gravy and potatoes, and the occasional red velvet cupcake, but it has been hard." She took a deep breath and looked away from him. "Actually, I am going to be talking to everyone tonight on what to expect when birth does happen. Which is another reason why I am not sure if I will want to have more children. I am scared, Freddy. And you'll understand why…especially since…well…" She paused as she knew she was about to tell him something that would make him worry too. "Women have died in childbirth before, Freddy. And it was often because there wasn't much medical help."
Freddy took a moment to process and his ears droop slightly as he widened his eyes. "Oh…I see." He did not know what to believe in that moment. But he leaned down and kissed her suddenly again. "Even if that is a fear that you have, Saphira, I believe you are strong. You are my super star, and I know you can get through this."
"I love your optimism, Freddy, but it is just a reality that we could face," She said gently as Freddy's expression faltered slightly at the thought of losing her. "If I do survive, I guess we will have a long life together. And I look forward to that possible future…but…you should also consider that possibility of a future without me."
He looked away from Saphira for a moment as he felt sadness and hurt at the idea of that. "If that is the case, I would want my system to…actually, no, I would never want to forget about you. Even if it hurts. But I may never be the same. I would much rather that we grow old together. And if you die naturally, I would gladly retire and allow a new endo to take my place."
She felt tears in her eyes at the thought of that. "That sounds wonderful, Freddy." She kissed him again and he pulled her closer to him to hug her some more. "You are making me tear up." She sniffled a little as the animatronic chuckled softly. "That is definitely so sweet."
"I am glad to make you feel better," Freddy said, leaning back slightly from her, looking at her eyes with his gentle smile. "You deserve to know how I feel, and what I want. It makes me feel like I actually have a reason to exist. Entertaining guests all day…that's a job. But you, you are so much more to me. And I really thank you for applying for the job here at the pizzaplex."
"Yeah, well, I had to and I am glad." She kissed him again, never tiring from the kisses before Freddy glanced at the camera with a curious frown. "Oh, did you see some guest doing something weird on the camera?"
"No, uh, look at the cameras looking in the utility tunnels." She blinked in surprise and turned to look at the monitors, paying close attention to the utility tunnel cameras. "Is that not the boy we are looking for?"
Saphira stared at the camera and she could see a young boy, no older than ten, leaving the hallway that leads to Glitchtrap's staff bot room. The boy was holding a crowbar. She couldn't see his face because he was wearing a Glamrock Freddy hoodie, and seemed to be laughing and raising the weapon victoriously. She frowned as that meant Springtrap had the boy destroy that staff bot machine. But she didn't know why.
"Huh…oh, great…" Saphira groaned as she rubbed her forehead. "This means I need to check."
"Why?" Freddy frowned curiously. "You do not need to go into the utility tunnels, Saphira. It isn't exactly safe for you to be going down those stairs."
"I know, but you know what my curiosity is like," Saphira said as she stretched her limbs, hearing them groan and crack as she stretched. "I need to see what he has done. Too bad we can never see what the kid looks like, but seems like he didn't have the distortion disc on." She looked at him with a smile. "If you can help me to the bathroom and into the utility tunnels afterwards, I will be grateful."
Freddy did not think it was a good idea, but if that has indeed happened, then there was something happening between Springtrap and Glitchtrap. He was happy to help Saphira to her feet and walked her over to the bathroom door. She had so much trouble getting up onto her feet now, but she did her best. She has considered just staying in the office now. Glitchtrap couldn't really hurt her, so she could work on her laptop, as long as she kept it away from the main system. Especially as she will be hitting Glitchtrap with the Trojan horse this week. She wasn't changing her plan at all on that.
Once Saphira was finished with the bathroom, Freddy went with her to go through Parts and Service way to get to Rockstar Row. Mostly because there were some guests still in the pizzaplex that they needed to avoid. Rockstar Row was empty, so they could go through there, but the atrium was still mostly busy as people were spending a lot of time on the Chica Coaster. And Spacebridge's construction is ahead of schedule. It is set to open at the end of next month and everything was ready. Saphira had hoped Roxy's Bumper Cars would be the same, but there hasn't been much work done to it, and she didn't really know why, unless Springtrap wanted Spacebridge done very quickly. She had yet to understand why he really cared.
"I am sorry we haven't been able to catch that child yet, Saphira," Freddy said gently as he walked beside her towards his room from Parts and Service. "Foxy was able to find more evidence of a kid squatting in the pizzaplex behind the ship in Kids Cove."
"Seems like Springtrap is having him move around," Saphira said thoughtfully. "I am surprised Vanessa doesn't just take him home with her at the end of every shift." She has noticed that the staff bots seemed to be following directives she did not give. She didn't know if Vanessa was, or if this kid was. "And the two of them seem to be ensuring more disappearances happen. At least Springtrap isn't ordering anymore medical equipment. He must be done with his project."
"Which likely involves something to do with you," Freddy said as Saphira shuddered at the thought. "Have you finished our new eyes yet, Saphira?"
"Oh! Yes!" Saphira looked at him with a smile. "I forgot to tell you. Actually…" She stopped in her tracks and looked back. "Maybe we should see if I can put the request into the system…" Freddy smiled as he was hopeful she would decide to do something else. "But we can do that after we check Glitchtrap's private staff bot machine. If Springtrap had the kid destroy it, I wonder what the reason was for."
"On the bright side, that is one less thing to worry about." She nodded in agreement as they reach the elevator. Freddy was disappointed they were still going to the utility tunnels, but he did not question her at all about it. "What do we even know about Glitchtrap, really? Aside that he's a digital upload of Springtrap's consciousness. Well, more like the person he was before he became Springtrap."
"I suppose you're about that…I haven't really delved that deep." She pressed the elevator button and stepped inside with Freddy. "But the thing I got from Springtrap is that he seems to be only in it for himself. So when you have two of the same kind of people together, one that can be destroyed digitally and the other…well…I haven't figured out how to destroy him, if I am honest."
"Killing something that is already dead seems very hard to understand. Though maybe because of the conflict of the same person in two different forms…" Freddy moved his head side-to-side as he thought about it. "Maybe Springtrap feels he no longer needs Glitchtrap. He probably feels that his plan is going to run as it should."
"Yeah, or there has been some kind of agreement that has been broken. Not that I care, if they can go up against each other for a while, that will be really nice." Saphira groaned as she arched her back slightly. Freddy placed his hand on her back to rub gently. "Ugh…as much as I am going to love these kids, I am tired of being pregnant." She grunts when she felt a kick. "Yep, I am talking about you."
Freddy knew he will never understand what it is like to be pregnant. But as Saphira had said, this pregnancy has been physically demanding on her. He saw how it has drained her. She was always tired now, and she would snap at small things every now and then. She was always complaining about how sore her feet and back were. Though he had seen her feet swell, and it has worried him. Plus, she has already told him that her breasts were now aching. He wasn't sure how he could remedy that, but Saphira had forbidden him from actually doing anything. He guessed that meant it was bad, so he did not pry. But all this added to the reason why Saphira was reluctant to go through this again. And Freddy knew that he was asking a lot for that possibility, because a part of him wished he was the reason she was pregnant. Not because of a horrific ordeal.
The doors open into the backroom of Freddy's room and Saphira walked out with him. "I have to say, I am concerned with how close you are getting to birth, Springtrap might show his ugly face again."
"I wouldn't be surprised if he did. He probably will want to know if these twins are male or female." She also knew the twins could be both, but while that didn't bother her, she was not sure if Springtrap would prefer if she had a male child. Of course, she had no choice in that either, so she hoped that he would not be furious if he does check on them. "But I think when I am closer to ten months, he might actually check. That's kind of around the time he suspects I will give birth. Oh, if only I could induce the birth right now."
"Wouldn't that be bad?" Freddy asked and Saphira just rolled her eyes with a groan. "Sorry, I just know that you are afraid of birth, even if you are frustrated with the length of time of this pregnancy." Saphira knew what he was saying, but she did not respond. "But I really hope you are incorrect, Saphira. I…I don't want to experience what we experienced nine months…well, over nine months ago…and I just realized, the one year anniversary of the first day you arrived at the pizzaplex is almost upon us."
"Do not think about celebrating it, Freddy."
"Why not?"
She and Freddy walk out of his room towards the utility tunnel doors, and she just huffed in irritation. "Don't you remember what happened when we tried to celebrate Christmas? And let's not forget what Glitchtrap did to you. Sure, DJ Music Man and I are now friends because of it, and I learned sign language, and I taught him how to sign, but that doesn't change how it happened."
"Please, Saphira, Christmas was not that bad." She looked at him with an irritated frown and Freddy just sighed a little. "Just because Vanessa spoiled it and that kid made the staff bots destroy the presents doesn't mean it was bad. You already said it that Christmas wasn't about gifts, food or singing, it was about family and friends. You had that around you."
"I guess…" She shakes her head as her expression softened. "But that still doesn't change the fact that I don't want to celebrate it. It might be two weeks away from now, but I really, really don't want to celebrate. I am sorry." Pushing open the doors to the top of the stairs, Saphira looked at them and turned to Freddy. "I hope you don't mind, but, WOAH!"
She shrieked in surprise as Freddy scooped her up into his arms suddenly and began to walk down the stairs. "Don't think for a moment I was going to let you walk down the stairs, Saphira?"
She took a few deep breaths and smiled at him with a teasing expression. "My Glamrock Freddy sweeps me off my feet yet again." He chuckled lightly at her as he continued to walk down the stairs. "I like to say that a lot, don't I?"
"I mean…I did, didn't I?" Freddy responded sarcastically, giving her the side-eye with a smirk. "Your legs were jelly when we first kissed, so I think that does count." She giggled at him and kissed his cheek, amused by his humor. "Besides, I enjoy helping you, Saphira. It makes me happy, super star. I will do anything for the human I love."
Saphira laid her head on his shoulder as he continued walking down the stairs. She wished there weren't so many flights of stairs, but she couldn't really do much about it. At least she wasn't using them, and she won't until she could move her body easier again. She shuddered a little when Freddy finally reached the bottom of the stairs. The utility tunnels and the basement was giving her the creeps again, especially now that she knew her family were lurking around and looking for her. That was another reason she wanted Freddy to come with her, not so much the stairs, but because she would have friendly company as the others were in their rooms currently.
"I do not know where the staff bot machine is here," Freddy said as he looked around at the different hallways on both sides of the utility tunnel highway. "Can you show me where to go, Saphira? I still do not think it is a good idea to be down here, even if Glitchtrap no longer has his machine, there could still be staff bots under his control."
"I guess we will have to just be aware as the time goes on. Keep walking." Saphira knew that Freddy could be right about current staff bots being under Glitchtrap's control, but she would have to see that. She didn't know if the brainwashed kid was used to dismantle those said staff bots as it seemed he was used to destroy the machine. To her, it seemed like a possibility. It took a bit of time before Saphira spotted the right hallway. "There!" She points to it and Freddy's eyes illuminates immediately like a flashlight, and she smiled. "Good idea you have that feature. I forgot to bring my flashlight."
"There are a lot of features that I have that are useful. Just like how I can light a candle with my finger," Freddy responded enthusiastically as he walked down the dark hallway towards the door. "Uh, will the door open?"
"It should." Saphira couldn't tell as they weren't close enough. But it didn't take long and the door opened automatically. "There we are! Now let's…oh…wow…"
Saphira and Freddy widen their eyes when they saw the huge mess inside the room, even before the door was completely up. Not only was the staff bot machine completely destroyed and smoking, the servers that controlled Glitchtrap's staff bots were also destroyed. There were some axes in the hard line, which meant Glitchtrap had no staff bot to control.
"Are we certain that the kid did all of this himself?" Freddy asked curiously as he looked around at the destroyed equipment. "This seems…so destructive for a human child."
"We didn't see anyone else come out…but we weren't paying attention either…" Saphira thought for a moment. "Vanessa did tell me thirty minutes ago she had something to take care of…maybe this was it, but I am not sure."
"Two definitely could have caused this in a short amount of time." Freddy still was looking around and stepped back. "I think we have seen enough, Saphira…" He turned away to walk back. "I think we should use the time more appropriately and have you tell us all about how birth could go."
"Right…yeah…just the thing I want to talk about," Saphira said in a sarcastic groan. She glanced back at the roller door as it closed behind them. "Things are just getting weirder and weirder now…it's almost like Springtrap wants to isolate Glitchtrap now. He only has the basic system, and that makes the virus almost useless."
Freddy agreed. Of course, Glitchtrap must have somehow found her family and reached out. He likely would have sent some kind of email or something, but she wouldn't know for sure. She knew that Glitchtrap had threatened her that she was going to regret stopping him. And that could easily be his plan. She doubted he would have reached out if he wasn't desperate, as desperation was something the virus was stinking of. For now, Saphira was dreading the talk later with the animatronics. She knew that they were all going to be alarmed. She already knew that Roxy and Monty probably wouldn't stick around for the birth. Chica may not either, but she wasn't sure. The rest probably would, especially since the support would be wonderful. She looked around curiously to see if she could see any evidence of the kid, and so far, nothing. She only spotted a small sneaker dust print on the ground, nothing that she could care much about.
