Saphira sat in her office in a state of disbelief. The last few hours she had been watching Vanessa's movements, and she even spotted Darren walking around the pizzaplex sometime after the building was empty of guests. It seemed that Springtrap had taken control of Darren, and they were looking for Gregory. She was pretty much at a standstill on what to do, but something happened that none of them expected. When Freddy woke up, Saphira didn't even notice he was awake until she checked the camera and saw him pulling Gregory out of his stomach hatch. That was a big shock!

Freddy informed her and the other about Gregory, and to act like they do not see him crawling in the vent. They were all rather thrilled that Gregory came to Freddy, but Mr Hippo was curious about how Gregory even got into Freddy's stomach hatch in the first place. Saphira guessed that during the chaos in the atrium, Gregory crawled underneath the animatronics and managed to reach Freddy without anyone noticing and climbed inside the stomach hatch. That seemed to make sense, since Saphira heard the hatch opening and closing at the time.

Saphira did have to warn Freddy about Darren too. He was going to tell Darren when he learned that he was back, but when he learned about what Springtrap had done to Darren, he understood. Communication with Darren would now only be to a bare minimum. At least until they could deal with Springtrap. While he was here, they could not trust him.

However, right now, Saphira was staring at the cameras. She was waiting for Gregory to get out of the vent that he was in. She knew there had been some maintenance done in Rockstar Row and there was a soft landing for him, so he at least would not get further injured. But Saphira was worried that he would be spotted. The main plan they had right now was for Gregory to let Freddy out of his room and he will bring the boy to the office.

Meanwhile...

Gregory was extremely nervous and scared as he crawled through the dark, dirty vent. He shivered a little as he crawled as the vent was rather cool. Having been given encouragement from Glamrock Freddy, Gregory felt he would be okay. He knew when he ran to Freddy while he was collapsed on the stage was risky, but the animatronic seemed friendly enough. And he hoped the animatronic could help him.

The boy's memories were rather fuzzy, but he did remember the day he was adopted. When the care ladies at the orphanage brought him and the other kids to the pizzaplex as a reward for being good, Gregory never expected that he would be adopted on that day. However, when Gregory met the blonde woman with green eyes, he didn't like her. He felt he met her before, and wanted nothing to do with her. But he was forced to stay. And the first thing she did was tell him that he would be meeting Mr Miller.

He had no idea who that was. But Vanessa had brought Gregory to his room, which was small with a large vent in the wall and had almost nothing in the room. She told him to unpack, and he refused. He simply put his bag down and began to think how he would escape. He already had hated the room, as it looked more like a dungeon.

But the last thing Gregory remembered on that day was the vent cover bursting open suddenly and something large crawled out. A withered animatronic, an old spring lock animatronic, with a corpse inside and bright, silver eyes. And Gregory tried to run, but he doesn't remember what happened. Everything was a blur since then.

Until he remembers he was hit in the head by a strange man attacking a pregnant woman. He vaguely remembers he tried to help her, but he ran became he was so confused, and hid when the Glamrock animatronics arrived and helped that young woman, and she seemed concerned about him, but he didn't trust her. He went into hiding because he was feeling pain, and he was just terrified and unsure of what to do.

Gregory had peered through the vent covers that look into the other animatronic rooms. Roxy was talking to herself about how perfect she was on stage. Gregory didn't really know what to make of that, since the show never went ahead because of Freddy's malfunction. Monty was not in his room when Gregory went by it, which he guessed the animatronic was in the back room.

Chica was rocking on her guitar, and Gregory had been tempted to stay and listen to her. But he needed to get Freddy out of his room so the animatronic could help him leave the pizzaplex. So he kept crawling and came across Bonnie's room. This is where he was surprised. Bonnie's curtains were closed and he saw Monty in the room with Bonnie. The two were whispering to each other as they sat on the couch, and the way they were behaving was strange to him.

He crawled away and he heard Foxy playing on his piano in his room, and he was singing We Built This City, and Gregory could not help but bob his head as he listened to the song while he crawled through the vent. However, the music and singing soon turn into echoes the further he crawled and he was happy when he saw the exit to the vent. But it was a bit high off the ground.

At first, he was worried, but when he got closer to the edge he saw there was something soft underneath. It looked like a mattress to him, but it looked like some work was being done as there was some safety barriers around it too. It at least provided a soft landing for him. So he carefully moved to the edge of the vent and jumped down, landing on it successfully without any kind of injury. Gregory glanced around for moment before jumping as the intercom voice began to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoyed the show! Freddy and the gang are pretty tired, but they'll be back again next week after a few days of scheduled maintenance! Please make your way to the front of the building where you will be given novelty glasses, a voucher for one free soda refill, and where you will sign a legal disclaimer releasing us of all liability for anything that might have happened during your visit. Have an awesome night, and we'll see you again soon."

That is a voice that Gregory recognized. He felt as though he has heard the voice many times before, and yet his mind was still blurry on the details from the past. It was also such a strange thing to say. People needing to sign a legal disclaimer to release liability from the business seemed super sketchy. He didn't know the law very well, but Gregory was curious about how this place was able to get around the law. He guessed there were some good lawyers or something.

He looked down Rockstar Row as he walked along the hallway cautiously. Despite this hallway being filled with neon lights, it was quite dark in here. It made Gregory nervous. Especially as a lot of the animatronics would likely see him through their windows. He wasn't sure if he would be able to reach Freddy before something happens, but he was determined. He didn't know what he would do when he leaves the building, but it was certainly a lot better than being stuck in here. At least he would be able to leave without anyone stopping him for not having a pass.

Gregory glanced at the different cabinet cases in the hallway as he walked down slowly. Seeing pieces from old pizzerias was intriguing to him. Gregory vaguely remembers stories about them, but he never really paid much attention to the old stories. As far as he knew, those stories were just in the past. But he did wonder if some of the stories were true now that he has been here. And the fact he saw a spring lock animatronic with a corpse inside did make him think things were not all as they seemed here. He just hoped that he could get out of here before that craziness took his life as well, even though he still had no plan for when he escaped the pizzaplex.

He kept close to the cabinets as he walked by the animatronic rooms. He crouched carefully behind them in the hopes that the animatronics do not see him. There was a few times the animatronics seemed to look in his direction, but as their optics did not lock onto his eyes, which he hoped was good. But he didn't know how the animatronics worked, so Gregory was still scared that the animatronics could do something. The only animatronic who he trusted is Glamrock Freddy.

Gregory glanced up at the golden statues in front of each room and he continued to walk through the hallway cautiously. As he got closer to Freddy's room, he saw that the animatronic had pulled the curtains open and he was watching and waiting for him. Freddy gave Gregory a friendly wave and a smile, which made the boy feel a little better. He had to get a Photo Pass from a convenience counter. And he was certain the roller door he was approaching is the convenience counter Freddy told him about.

He looked around cautiously as he approached the door. He jumped back with a gasp when the doors rolled up suddenly, and they only rolled up part of the way. He had to crouch to get underneath it. He took a deep breath, trying to keep himself calm as the boy did not want to let his panic take over. He knew that he had to stay very calm. Well, calm enough to not draw unwanted attention.

He looked around one he was inside the room and he spotted am image of Freddy one the other wall. He had a speech bubble with the words 1 Free Photo Pass, and Gregory ran over to see there appeared to be a stack of these passes on the ground in front of the picture. The boy grabbed one carefully, not wanting to knock the rest over, before he turned and ran out of the room. He was feeling excited now as this meant he was closer to escaping.

He did slow down when he left the room to make sure his footsteps wouldn't make a lot of noise. He didn't want to run and trip, which wouldn't be good at all. He did not feel a sense of being watched, thankfully, so Gregory made his way towards Freddy's room. He stopped a few feet from the door, feeling a little hesitant all of a sudden. He did worry that Freddy would not help him, as there were a lot of things that could go wrong. But he didn't really have any other choice.

He took a deep breath and stepped closer, jumping as the door opened suddenly and he saw Freddy standing at the door. "Way to go super star! I knew you could do it!" Hearing Freddy's cheerful, comforting voice helped to make Gregory relax from the start. "I know how to help you with your situation. Climb back into my chest cavity."

Gregory frowned a little at Freddy's words. "Uh…you will take me to the entrance…right?"

The boy's fear and hesitation was clear on his face, and Freddy just smiled at him gently. "Gregory, there are things at play that you have yet to understand. And as much as I want to take you to the entrance, I fear that what is here in this building, will only follow you outside and you will not be safe there either."

The boy stepped back nervously and the door began to close, but Freddy caught the door with his hand and forced it open, stepping outside of his room. "But…I-I thought…"

"I do want to help you, Gregory, make not mistake. But you are not safe outside the pizzaplex at this time. There is someone who is…trapped…much like you are." Gregory stepped back again as he was extremely worried about this person. "She arrived at the pizzaplex over a year ago…and…she also cannot leave. Not until the threat has been removed. I know you are afraid, and truthfully, I am afraid too." Gregory softened his frown as he was surprised at Freddy's admission of fear. That was something that never crossed his mind. "I hope you trust me enough to believe I am telling the truth. None of us animatronics wish harm to fall upon you."

Gregory was still hesitant. While Freddy's words sounded sincere, he didn't know if he could trust him. "How do I know you are telling the truth?"

"Because you have been here before, Gregory, and nothing happened to you until you came here with the orphanage…" The boy widened his eyes as Freddy responded to him calmly. "And something has clearly happened…we knew you have been here in the pizzaplex for a couple weeks. Do you remember at all?"

Gregory shook his head. "I…it has been two weeks since that woman adopted me?" Freddy nodded. "Um…that security guard…she's the one who adopted me…I don't know who she is though, but she still wants to get me."

"I can assure you, I will not bring you to her." Freddy opened his stomach hatch and Gregory glanced at it for a moment. "I know I told you before that she can help, but I was…acting…I was not sure if you had much memory of that woman. But she is dangerous."

"At least you seem to know." Gregory bit his bottom lip nervously and sighed. "Okay…but you better before careful moving around. I don't want to be crushed and twisted into a meat pretzel." He stepped closer to Freddy and he reached up to climb into his stomach hatch. Freddy reached down to help the boy inside. The boy was a tad surprised as he climb in and turned himself around before holding his legs tightly against him as the hatch closed. "Thank you…but who is this other woman you are taking me too? The pregnant one?"

Freddy walked away from his room and approached the door to Saphira's office. "Yes, that is who I am talking about. She was the security guard before the blonde woman. She was also a technician, as she is directly involved in our maintenance. I am sure you noticed how she responded when I collapsed on stage."

"Yeah…I did…it was kind of strange." Gregory shrugged a little as thinking back to when Freddy collapsed, he saw how the pregnant woman acted. It was as if she was reacting to a loved one fallen on the stage, which he thought was odd. "So…what exactly is it about this place that is so dangerous?"

"You will be informed of it shortly, Gregory. It seems you are very wise for a boy your age, and that is a good thing. You have a good head on your shoulders." He opened the security door and began making his way up the stairs. "You have managed to survive on your own too."

"Yeah…well…my parents were murdered when I was younger…so I had to kind of grow up." Freddy was aware that Gregory's parents had been killed. Saphira suspected it is Vanessa, but he was still sad that the boy lost his parents regardless. "And I quickly learned to…to trust myself. So…I guess I am mature for my age because of that."

"I am so sorry for the loss of your parents, Gregory. I am also familiar with the feeling of loss, although…I do not have parents…obviously." The boy giggled a little at the bot's response. "But someone who I love dearly…I almost lost her…"

"Her? Are you talking about one of the other animatronics?" Gregory was extremely curious all of a sudden. "Or is that pregnant lady the one you love? That's kind of funny and cool at the same time."

"Well…you will learn that fact." He was not sure if it was something that he should admit to the boy at this time, so he kept quiet. He reached the top of the stairs and reached for the handle of the door. "There are more important things than knowing who I love, Gregory."

The boy's smile widened as Freddy opened the door. "Ooh, well…you pretty much answered that for me…but still…" He frowned a little as he thought about it. "It is a little strange."

Saphira smiled at Freddy as he approached her. He had an embarrassed expression on his face, and she had no idea why. "Is something the matter, Freddy?" He shook his head quickly. "Well…let me introduce myself to Gregory. I am a little jealous he can sit in your stomach hatch…maybe we can test it when I am not pregnant."

"If you wish to do that, Saphira, we can." Freddy was amused by her words. He opened his stomach hatch and glanced down. "Gregory, this is Saphira Dawn. She is the woman who was the security guard before Vanessa. She is not here to harm you. And like you, she is unfortunately trapped in the pizzaplex."

Gregory stared at Saphira as the girl smiled at him kindly. "Hi, Gregory. It is a pleasure to finally meet you. I know the last time we met, it was kind of…well…you were hit in the head." The boy tightened his grip around his knees. "It's okay, Gregory, I have no interest in hurting you. I want to help you. I know you want to leave…but…they will hunt you down."

"They? Who are they? A-Are you talking about…V-Vanessa and that dead person…i-in that suit?"

Saphira widened her eyes in surprise. "Hold up, you met Springtrap already?"

Gregory shrugged in confusion. "Who is Springtrap?"

Saphira guessed that the boy never knew the name of the spring locked man. She took a deep breath and gestured to the seat by her. "Why don't you get out of Freddy's stomach hatch? I know you're nervous. I was terrified of the animatronics when I first arrived here for my job. But…it is nothing compared to now. Springtrap…he's the head of everything here, and is the reason these animatronics exist. But they're not dangerous to us…not intentionally…" Freddy placed his hands on his hips with an amused expression. "Anyway…he…he is the reason why I am…pregnant…"

Gregory was more shocked and he began to shift to get out of the hatch. Freddy was quick to help him out and closed his stomach hatch when the boy was on the ground. "Really? He can still get women pregnant?" Saphira was immediately flustered and was about to respond. "Don't worry, I got taught about reproduction in humans at school sometime ago."

"Uh…right…" Saphira rubbed the back of her head as that was somewhat embarrassing to her. "But…no…Springtrap didn't impregnate me himself…but there was a different method…but I won't go into details on how that happened. But I am forced to remain pregnant and give birth to the twins within me."

The boy seemed concerned by this as he walked over to the chair and sat on it. "Well…that seems scary…" She nodded in agreement as it definitely was scary. "I wish I could remember everything that happened to me…I-I only remember how I got here…but Freddy said I have been here for a couple weeks. I don't even remember it clearly enough."

"I had assumed that would be the case. He brainwashed you." Saphira took a deep breath and relaxed in her chair. "I…I guess I will start from the beginning. I applied for a security job here at the pizzaplex over a year ago. I got it, and for the first several months…I just worked as a security guard and assisted the animatronic technicians with the general maintenance of the animatronics. That is because I have a degree in robotics." Gregory seemed intrigued that she has a degree in robotics, but Saphira decided to avoid that topic. "But one of those technicians, Dave, happened to be working with Springtrap. I didn't know it at the time, but there are a lot of people who have gone missing here at the pizzaplex."

"Oh yeah, I've heard rumors that people have gone missing here," Gregory said with a slight smile as he remembers seeing the news. "I always thought it was weird. Did you ever find out what happened to them?"

Saphira nodded. "Yeah…their skeletal remains are underneath the pizzaplex in among the trash." He was horrified as soon as she said that. "With visible teeth marks, from something with big teeth. Like Springtrap. Considering he is still alive, and a corpse, he's a zombie which means…"

"Oh…he eats people."

Saphira nodded affirmatively. "Yes…I found out in a gruesome way when Vanessa pushed me into the trash beneath the complex…which…ended up with me getting pregnant…I am almost ten months along…"

"Aren't pregnancies nine months?"

"Yeah…but because the babies I carry are of metal and flesh…" Gregory's horror was filled with confusion and Saphira smiled at him. "Sorry, I am not making sense. Well…Springtrap has another name. William Afton was his name a long time. He used to own Freddy's until he, obviously was spring locked in that suit. He somehow lived, but…he wants a new body. So…he managed to meet Vanessa, and they worked together to create the pizzaplex. A perfect hiding spot for him. A place where he could continue his plans."

"I see…I remember the old pizzerias. I guess…he got what he deserved, but he just didn't die."

"That would be correct." Saphira grimaced as she felt a kick from one of the twins. "Springtrap did also manage to digitally upload his consciousness into the pizzaplex for full control. And that virus was called Glitchtrap. But I managed beat Glitchtrap…we are left with Springtrap and Vanessa."

Gregory listened quietly as he pondered on what he was hearing. "So does that mean, when you say new body, that Springtrap decided that you were perfect to be impregnated and carry a baby that would become his new body?" She nodded. "Egh…that's creepy…and is Vanessa brainwashed like me?"

"I don't think so…but…she could be." Saphira didn't really know how to answer the boy. "She's definitely more willing to do what he wants than you might think. She even dresses like a rabbit in a full, white, rabbit costume with a distorted voice."

The boy tensed immediately. "White rabbit? A white rabbit?" Saphira nodded and frowned in concern when Gregory seemed nervously. "I-I remember…my parents were killed…and…I-I thought I-I saw someone…w-w-wearing a white, rabbit suit…was i-i-it Vanessa?"

Saphira did not know how to answer his question. She could see the boy wanted an answer though. She nodded and the boy's eyes immediately filled with tears. "I am sorry, Gregory…"

"It is not your fault." He sniffled and wiped tears from his cheeks. He jumped when Freddy stepped closer to him and leaned down. "What are…" Gregory jumped again when Freddy hugged him gently and the boy was very surprised. "Um…that…th-that was unexpected…"

Freddy smiled at him gently. "It is okay, Gregory. You'll learn that I am more than just a normal robot. Saphira learned that months ago. And I am also sorry for your parents. But now we have to protect you from Vanessa. She wants to take you back to Springtrap. I don't think you'll be brainwashed again."

"So why would I stay? Wouldn't I be safer to leave?"

"I am afraid not. Vanessa will find you outside the pizzaplex. I can promise you that you would not survive one night." The boy shivered as he realized that he was in a lot of danger. "But you are safer here." Saphira turned her head as the elevator dinged and smiled as Mr Hippo walked in. "Ah, I see you finished your recharge, Mr Hippo."

He nodded with a smile, looking at Gregory who was looking at him with wide eyes. "It is nice to meet you, Gregory. Such a brave young lad is surely an inspiration to all of us here." The boy smirked a little at the remark and Mr Hippo looked at Saphira. "Am I going to guess that I interrupted something?"

Saphira smirked in amusement at him and shrugged. "You could say that." She leaned back a little in her chair and took a deep breath. "I was just telling Gregory about Springtrap, Vanessa and why he is safer here." The animatronic nodded in understanding and gestured for Saphira to continue. "Anyway…you are safer here, because we can keep you out of the sight of the cameras. There are areas of the pizzaplex that have no cameras, and since you can fix inside their stomach hatches, I am sure that Mr Hippo, Pigpatch, Orville, Monty and Bonnie will help you get around, not just Freddy."

"Okay…but…where will I sleep?" Gregory seemed very unsure about all of this. "And…how do I know you won't do anything?"

Saphira shrugged. "Well, I have a place in the building. There's a spare room that you can use. There's no bed in there yet, but we will put on in there, and get some drawers and stuff…but the apartment itself is pretty empty since it is all new. I don't even have the nursery set up. And as for your second question, uh, well…" She smiled at him with a kind expression. "I am not going to say anything. Because to me, if someone were to tell me I have nothing to worry about, then there is absolutely everything to worry about. If that makes."

The boy was surprised by the response and he smiled at her. "Alright…well…I will accept it…I guess I have no choice." He chuckled a little as he was still very nervous. "But do you think I will be able to help? If Springtrap and Vanessa…do you know why I was brainwashed?"

"To do things that Vanessa could not. I am not sure what they were though…now they want you again, but to kill you. They don't care since I could give birth at any time."

Gregory was worried that he would remember what happened in the last two weeks. If that was the case, he would not want to know. "Well…if that is the case…I want to help. But…what will happen if we beat them?"

"Well…that is up to you, Gregory. I would be very happy to take you in, but I also understand if you want to leave." Freddy was saddened by Saphira's response to Gregory. She was willing to take him in, but also willing to let him go. "This place could easily be much better without Springtrap and Vanessa. I will remain here, because I want to raise these babies. But you don't have to."

The boy stared at Saphira. The fact she offered to take him in was something he wanted, and he hoped he could trust her. "You would…take me in?"

Saphira nodded. "Yes. I don't have to be your mother, of course, I could be more like your older sister. But…I grew up with a horrible family. They tried to kill me recently…which is who hit you and woke you up from your nightmare…" She shivered as she thought back to the incident and Mr Hippo placed a hand on her shoulder as she swallowed nervously. "So I know how to not treat a child. I will never be cruel like my family were."

The boy smiled and stood up from the chair and ran over to Saphira, hugging her suddenly. Mr Hippo moved his hand away from Saphira's shoulder as the boy almost hit his hand on his arm. "I would like that very much. I never wanted a new mom. But a new sister, well…that would be nice. Do you think you can show me this apartment? I don't know if I want to stay in this office all night."

Saphira nodded and moved to stand from the chair. Gregory backed away as Mr Hippo helped Saphira to her feet. "Sure." She glanced between Freddy and Mr Hippo. "Which one of you will…" Freddy responded by opening his stomach hatch. "Wonderful." Gregory was very happy and Saphira placed her hand on his shoulder, startling him slightly. "I do promise one thing to you, Gregory. It is the same promise I made to my children. I will do my best to prevent tragedy from happening. But I may not succeed, that is why the promise is to only do my best."

Gregory was silent as he pondered on what she meant and he softened his smile. "I understand. Doing your best is something anyone should ask. Promising to beat Springtrap is definitely a stretch. And I promise to behave, as well." He hummed for a moment and raised an eyebrow. "Do you think I could apologize to Sun and Moon? I saw them a couple days ago. They were trying to help me, but I ran. I remember them when I was younger…and I kind of feel silly…but…they look scary in the dark."

"I agree. But I think that is fine. You might enjoy the ping pong they have…but it would have to be out of the sight of the cameras. Which means the day care itself is not where you should go, but behind it will be fine." Gregory seemed disappointed as he had wanted to play with Sun and Moon. "Hopefully you can enjoy the pizzaplex properly at some point. But we need to be careful now."

"Okay…I understand." Gregory turned to Freddy and the animatronic helped the boy climb into the stomach hatch. "I can help get the spare room ready, if that is okay."

"It will be perfectly fine, and you can have a lot of say in what the room looks like." The boy grinned excitedly as Freddy closed the stomach hatch. Saphira looked at Freddy's eyes with a smile. "Thank you, Freddy. Hopefully you aren't feeling too drained from the low power."

He shook his head. "I will be fine, Saphira. I will recharge when we reach your room." He looked at Mr Hippo as the bot stood by Saphira. "It might be ideal for you to carry her at this time, Mr Hippo. I am unsure if I should."

"We certainly don't want to create a risk." Mr Hippo gently scooped Saphira up before the two animatronics walk to the door to make their way down the stairs back to Rockstar Row. "Tonight has been full of surprises."

It most certainly has. Saphira was glad that Freddy was okay, and that Gregory came to Freddy on his own. Saphira knew that the full details of what is actually happening here at the pizzaplex will be kept away from Gregory. But from what Saphira was seeing, he was very mature for a ten-year-old. Losing his parents to murder would have been horrible. And his last five years would have definitely taught a lot. Saphira hoped to bond with the boy, and show him she was not a threat to him. She had no idea how long it would take before Vanessa and Darren realize that Gregory was with Saphira and the animatronics. She hoped they never find out, but she knew better than to hope for a wishful thought.
