Saphira did not know how long the chute was until it would reach the trash under the pizzaplex, but she was unable to tell how far she is being she was upside down in the chute. She could not slow herself no matter how hard she tried. She did not know if the animatronics would even know she had been pushed into this garbage chute, though she did doubt to be the case. Though her mind was thinking of she many thoughts right now, and she could only hope that she did not end up in Springtrap's hands.
She briefly saw the end of the chute, and she yelped as she hits a pile of garbage head first. She grimaced as she felt some pain shoot up her back from the impact, and slid down the mound of garbage and she managed to stop as the slope wasn't steep and she angled herself around. She took deep breaths as she sat up slowly, holding her stomach as she felt another dull pain, though it felt a little stronger this time. She looked around the darkness as she saw she was in a trash pile filled with kitchen scraps. She couldn't see anything.
Except she saw Gregory. He was at the bottom of the mound holding his flashlight. "Saphira!" He said in a loud whisper. She looked down and she moved herself to slide down the mound. "Are you okay? I can't believe that Vanessa threw you down too." He looked behind him, shining his light at the tunnel ahead nervously. "I never realized how dark it is down here. I can see why you are afraid of this place. But we…" Gregory jumped and turned his head as he felt Saphira hug him suddenly. She was so relieved that he was okay, and that there wasn't a welcoming party down here. "I am okay. My shoulder hurts, I've lost some hair and I am probably going to have nightmares, but I am okay."
"I am so, so sorry, Gregory." Saphira looked at him with teary eyes. "This was not meant to happen…it should not happen." She smiled at him slightly and released him from her hug. "You are very brave. But we need to move. Springtrap will already be sending his nightmare bots to find us. Maybe even the endos."
"Okay." Gregory grabbed Saphira's hand and they both walk to the end of the tunnel, leaning out and looking both ways. "I imagine you don't know where to go. But…which way?"
Saphira could only see garbage at the moment. She knew that there was a lot of areas here that wasn't covered in garbage, but this was not one of them. She quietly points to the left, and they both go in that direction. Saphira and Gregory walk through the tunnel carefully and quietly. Their shoes quietly crunched the dust and garbage underneath, but they made sure to not make so much noise.
The tunnel was in a serpentine shape Saphira realized as they walk through the tunnel. They reach a part where they see huge piles running down from the ceiling into the ground. Saphira guessed it was a pair of sewage drains, but she could not be sure. But Gregory stopped as he noticed a skeleton sitting on one of the pipes. Saphira saw it too, and she sighed. She often guessed Springtrap had victims just thrown anywhere into the garbage when he finishes eating their flesh.
"Is that…one of the missing people?" Gregory asked as he stared at the body. She nodded affirmatively, glancing back as she wanted to hear anything that might be happening right now. "Wow…my nightmares weren't lying." He shuddered a little and they keep walking. "It smells worse with dead bodies down here."
Saphira agreed. But it was the least concerning thing on her mind. She knew that stopping was not an option. She did know this was nowhere near the spot she had fallen into from the trash conductor. Though Saphira did consider it ironic that Vanessa has pushed her down here twice now. And the first time she acted like it was an accident. At least now the animatronics will not be fooled. At least she hoped that they would not.
They soon reach a concrete ledge with a drain running below it. Saphira grimaced at the smell of grey water while looking at the planks set across the ledge to the other side. Gregory walked across it with no issue, but Saphira took a little bit longer. She worried that she might become unbalanced and fall down. That would be embarrassing and bad at the same time. She was relieved when she reached the other side and as the keep walking, they walk down a short slope and Saphira noticed more bones around.
Saphira did not really know how many people Springtrap has killed, but she assumed it was at least in the hundreds, maybe thousands. She has not counted all the missing guests to really know the true number. But Saphira knew that the bodies would have to stay. There was no way people would believe that an undead man in an old, spring lock suit was having guests lured to him to be eaten.
They make a left around the bend and find themselves in a large space filled with thrown arcade machines. "Huh? Strange…these machines are normally removed by a truck. Not thrown away." Saphira guessed this happened before she arrived though, because the only arcade machines she destroyed were the Princess Quest games.
Gregory looked at the machines curiously. Many of the arcade machines had broken screens and wires hanging out from the sides. Saphira did not recognize them either as they walk by them. They were certainly not the same ones that were in the arcades currently. There was even a forklift here for some reason. The cage was broken and the forks had fallen on its side. She guessed this was in the first few years of the pizzaplex running.
"Hey, one is still working," Gregory said, pointing his flashlight to the right side. Saphira saw the glow of the arcade machine too. "But it's a little weird. There is a power down here."
Saphira was very curious. The only arcade machines that could even run without power were the Princess Quest machines. She couldn't help bit be concerned, and her concerns would be correct as she widened her eyes upon seeing another Princess Quest game. That would explain why Springtrap was calm about the virus being destroyed. He had a backup of Glitchtrap. This was definitely not something she expected at all.
"This is the machine that has brainwashed so many people," Saphira said softly as she stood in disbelief. "We can't let Springtrap or Vanessa take it up there."
"How do you propose we deal with it?" Gregory asked curiously as she began to look around for a tool. "Wouldn't breaking only give away our position? We can always come back and destroy it."
"We may not get to come back, Gregory." Saphira found a large brick and she walked over to the machine. "So I am not going to wait for a second chance."
She began to smashed the screen of the machine with the brick. She hit it several times until it broke, and it began to smoke as she threw the brick into the machine once the screen broke, and it hit several things inside the machine. This meant that Glitchtrap was hopefully gone. He would have had no power like that anyway, so Saphira was glad that they found it. And she made sure that she didn't hit it so hard that it echoed loudly, but they still could not stay for very long.
She dropped the brick and they walk away from the arcade machine. Saphira was extremely nervous, not knowing if there was more Princess Quest machines around in this underground hell. If there was one here, it made sense there was more. But she would destroy them all if they come across them. She was not going to let Springtrap unleash Glitchtrap back into the pizzaplex. Not while she was still breathing.
As they walk into the next tunnel, they come across a hallway with rooms either side. The doors were rusted, and they were either stuck or too heavy to open. Saphira shivered as this was very reminiscent of the hallway she found herself in previously before she came face to face with Springtrap. She knew it was a huge catacomb down here, so this could simply be connected to those hallways, or it was a separate part. Either way, Saphira did not trust that there was nothing in those rooms.
"Sh-Should we…maybe go back? And go the other way?" Gregory whispered as he was also concerned by these rooms. Saphira shook her head and stepped forward. "Hopefully those doors stay shut. I am going to freak out if…" He gasped loudly when he kicked something on the ground, making him jump back. He shines his light down and saw it was a flashlight. "Oh…I wonder if that still works." He walked over to it and picked it up. Saphira hoped it worked too, because then she could have one. He pressed the button and the light turned on, much to their relief. "Thank goodness…here, you can have this one."
Saphira smiled as she took the flashlight from him. "Thanks. Let's keep moving." She shines the flashlight towards the doors and looked back for a moment before they walk down the hallway to the end. There was another crossroads at the end, and they looked left and right. "Um…you pick this time…" Saphira widened her eyes with a gasp as the dull ache returned, only to be stronger and make her hold her stomach. It was at this moment she realized. "Shit!"
Gregory stared at Saphira for a moment and widened his eyes. "Um…you aren't…the twins aren't coming, are they?" She saw the worry in his eyes and she wanted to shake her head, but she couldn't lie as she looked away. "That stupid Vanessa! She caused it by throwing us down here!" The boy was more nervous now. "Well, at least you aren't screaming like they do in the movies, so I guess you aren't needing to push or anything yet." Saphira raised an eyebrow of amusement and chuckled softly. The boy's innocence was very telling at the moment. "Um…let's goooo…riiight this time."
Saphira just nodded as she followed Gregory. Her mind was full of alarms right now. Now that she has realized that she was having contractions, at this very moment, she knew that there was not much time. She did not want to be at the point of extreme pain where she could not move, as she would be helpless. Plus, Springtrap would find her easier because he would be able to smell her, and that was a terrifying thought. For the moment, the contractions were not close, and they weren't horrible yet. But Saphira was not an idiot, they had to get out.
As they followed the tunnel, they walk onto a metal ledge that was being held up by a mound of trash. Saphira herself saw the large cavern that they could look out over, and there was a slope beneath them as well. She wondered just how much underneath the pizzaplex was dug up. She didn't even know how the structure has not fallen into this sink hole with how much dirt has been dug out from underneath the building. She did wonder why it was built here in the first place.
Her thoughts were cut off as the metal piece underneath them began to groan and shift. "Oh no! Get back!" Saphira grabbed Gregory's arm and they tried to run back to safety, only for the ledge to lurch down suddenly. "WOAH!" She and Gregory hold onto the railings and they look at each other. She glanced up at the door and stepped towards it. "Come on! We have…"
"Too late!"
Saphira and Gregory hold onto the railing tightly as the metal began to slide down the garbage mound. They did their best to not scream, but the sound of skeletons and garbage moving underneath them echoed all around them. They were lucky that as the metal piece shuddered underneath them that they did not lose their footing. She did not need to be thrown around like a ragdoll again. However, when they reached the bottom, the metal piece screeched as it hit the ground and slid a few feet before it came to a stop.
The two of them were relieved and Saphira looked around. "Why are we always sliding down?" She was frustrated and looked at Gregory, reaching her hand out to him to take his hand. "Let's go. Springtrap would have heard that."
Gregory nodded as they cautiously got over the metal piece. They were very shaken at the moment. "And maybe d-don't let me p-pick a direction…" She smirked slightly at Gregory's light joke as they look around. They were surrounded by hills of garbage. Ahead of them was a high, rocky formation with a gap in the middle. "But…where should we go?"
Saphira looked back and saw there was no where to go. "I guess we go forward." Saphira swallowed nervously and walked towards the gap with the boy. "But be on your guard. If this is the only way down here, aside from sliding down the hill, we might be facing some endos or nightmare bots down here. That's the last thing we need."
Gregory fully understood. They walk towards the gap cautiously. There wasn't as much garbage here, but there was a lot more broken endo and staff bot pieces down here. Saphira was not sure if this is where Springtrap dumped the bots he no longer wanted to use, or he considered wasted. But that is what it seemed. There was a lot of cables hanging from above, and some metal pipes with gas leaking from them. There wasn't a huge smell of gas here thankfully, but she could still smell some of the odour in this place. Even though it was not strong, they both knew that they had to get out quickly.
Saphira looked at the endo bodies as they walk by them. A few looked like they could still function, but they did not move from where they were laying or sitting. That still didn't stop her paranoia though. As they keep walking, there was some steam from another set of broken pipes that made it a bit harder for them to see. They wave their hands to force away the steam and they stopped as they almost followed the path to the right, but they saw on their left was another direction. Saphira sighed as she was tires of trying to pick which direction go.
"Saphira, look!" She jumped as she heard Gregory say something. He was pointing in the tunnel they were about to enter. "I see a way out." She gazed ahead and he was right. There was a metal wall ahead with an open doorway leading to a set of stairs. "We can keep going…"
Saphira grabbed his shoulder suddenly to stop him. "Wait…do you hear that?" Gregory froze and listened. It took a moment before they heard the sound of multiple footsteps and wheels coming towards them, and the sound was coming from that doorway. "Come on."
She pulled Gregory into the right tunnel and spotted a crevice that he could hide in. She pushed him in there, and gestured for him to turn off his flashlight before she hiding in the shadows and crouched down by a pile of staff bot pieces. She turned off her flashlight and worked on slowing her breathing so she would not make a heap of sound. She hoped that the endos and nightmare bots would just pass by them so they could continue without concern. But Saphira did know there was always the risk of the bots turning back to follow them.
Both Saphira and Gregory saw several dozen nightmare bots roll by, heading in the direction they had just come from. Following the nightmare bots were five endos. These endos had no shape to them, so there was so sign which would be a Freddy endo or a Roxy endo. The bots did glance around, and they did not see Saphira or Gregory, and they keep walking as they follow the nightmare bots. The rest of the nightmare bots roll by, and Saphira knew there was a lot more bots around. These was just a small amount. And she could not forget the snake bots too.
As they wait for them to be far down the pathway, Saphira tensed as she felt another contraction. She covered her mouth with her hand to stop herself from making any noise that could attract the bots back to them. When the pain passes, she stood up slowly and turned on her flashlight and tiptoed to Gregory.
The boy was trembling and he slipped out of the crevice nervously. "Maybe we should keep going this way," He whispered to Saphira as he did not want to speak too loudly. "This might lead to another way out."
Saphira just nodded in agreement. "Just be careful of our surroundings now. We cannot draw them to us. When they find that destroyed machine, they will likely come this way."
Gregory understood, and the two of them continue walking down the pathway. Neither one of them knew what was ahead of them right now. They did pick up their pace though. Though Saphira could only move as fast as she could. She would definitely be happier to give herself as much distance from the bots as they could. There was one thing she was hoping for. She wanted to find the mainframes for these bots and endos, and destroy them so Springtrap would not have an advantage in numbers.
Saphira was also wondering where the animatronics were. She had no doubt that they were panicking with Saphira and Gregory being down below. She knew that this must hurt, after all, they couldn't get out of their rooms to help them. She didn't even know if they were all still in their rooms. She did hear Monty's voice briefly on her way down the chute, but she didn't even know if he knew she had been pushed down it. But it didn't matter now.
The further they ventured into the dark tunnel, the more scarce the garbage seemed to be. There were some beams leaning against the rocky cave walls that seemed like they were used to hold up something some time ago. They were rusting from the earth around them. There was some electrical equipment down here too. Old generators, car batteries, a few tractor engines, charging cables, electric boards, motherboards, broken computer screens and even some old medical devices. These clearly were dumped here a few years ago. Springtrap likely used these before.
There was a few old circuit boards and servers as well down here. There was even an old mainframe central conduit that was rusting and oozing of old oil. Wires hung from its arms and Saphira wondered if this was an original piece for the pizzaplex. Or maybe even for the nightmare bots and endos. She couldn't be sure. But it seemed to her that this place has not been ventured down in for a long time. It was cooler down here, but they both remained vigilant. They knew that the bots could come for them at any moment.
"Hopefully this does not lead to a dead end. I would be really worried if that was the case." Gregory was looking at the various electrical equipment with a worried expression. Saphira knew that was a possibility, which meant they would be trapped and they would be in serious trouble. "There's not much garbage here. Not even a sign of a body."
Saphira was somewhat glad about the no body part. She hated seeing the bodies of the dead, missing victims. She knew it was hard to miss them when they are down here, but she didn't need that reminder that this was their resting place. And they would never get a proper burial that they deserve. However, Saphira knew that this could be her tomb if she and Gregory did not get out safely. But she knew that they would only be dragged back down here if nothing is done to stop Springtrap.
They walk around a left bend and they stop in surprise. Ahead of them was a building. It was a large building that was very, very old. It looked like the building had been around from the eighties or nineties based on the design of the building. The roof tiles were a dark brown, and the bricks were cracked, and could potentially collapse. The door to the building was a set of double red doors that were open, and did not seem like that they could close anymore.
It was at first unknown what this building was. But as she shines her light, she noticed on the ground near the building was a very old sign. It looked like it had broken neon lights with a picture of something on it. Saphira was curious as she and Gregory walk closer to it. The sign was covered in dust, so it was hard to tell. But with a quick brush with the hand, Saphira gasped as she saw it was an old Freddy Fazbear's sign. But that seemed impossible. The location shut down years ago!
Gregory stared at the sign with a frown and looked at Saphira. "W-Why would this be here?" He asked curiously as he did not understand. "And why is the p-pizzaplex built on top of it? I thought…Fazbear Frights was the last establishment."
"So did I." Saphira did not know how to answer the boy's question. She shined her light at the door to the old pizzeria and took a deep breath. "Now I am too curious to turn back. Maybe there's a way out through here too…" She glanced back the way they came and shivered. "I am not confident about going back. We can only move forward."
Gregory was not as confident about this as Saphira, though she truthfully wasn't that confident. The two walk towards the front of the old building and shine their flashlights into the old pizzeria. There was not much to see as they saw the lobby. The tiles were black and white, though the white tiles were covered it dust and mice droppings. They step inside and saw old, torn pictures of the original animatronics. All long before the Glamrocks ever existed. Including a picture of the original two animatronics at the first pizzeria, Fazbear's Family Diner. It was clear this was very old.
They gaze at the curved archway door ahead of them and Saphira noticed some burn marks on the carpet and walls. There was a faint smell of fire in the air. Had this place been on fire before? She hoped that the structure would remain sound enough for them to get out safely. They walk towards the door and peer inside. To their surprise, there was still tables and chairs. This seemed to be the dining room of the pizzeria. As they walk through, they look around and saw that most of the tables and chairs were broken, some had been burned and the rest were overturned. There were old claw machines with toys still inside the case and gumball machines that have been sitting there for a long time. The candy inside them had mould on them, along with the fact some looked like it had been melted slightly.
Saphira points her flashlight to what was Pirate Cove. The curtains were torn down, and the wood on the stage were worn, and a few boards were missing. However, there was no sign of the original animatronics anywhere. Even on the main stage. Saphira guessed they were dismantled a long time ago. However, this place was giving a creepy vibe, and the two of them did not stay long. There didn't appear to be many areas to go though, as there were two hallways leading to the security office, and the back door.
They walked through the right hallway to the backdoor. They glance into the old office, and they both saw very old blood stains on the office chair, tiles and desk. The camera monitors inside were off and smashed. An old Celebrate poster that used to be on the wall had been torn in half. It was unknown how long this place has stood untouched. But Saphira could only make a guess with how long ago Fazbear Fright closed down.
Gregory opened the back door, and he was surprised that the door opened easily. And it opened into a large room. And it was much newer than the old pizzeria. And it was a large room filled with servers and computers. A tone of cables connected to the ceiling, and the room was very warm as the computers were running. There was hums of the internal fans of the servers as they looked around. A lot of these seemed to be old models, but they were working just fine. And as they got closer, Saphira looked at the screens to see they were running a lot of programs.
However, she stared at them curiously and realized there were thoughts being typed on the screen. There was communication between computers, and it took a moment for Saphira to realize there was some kind of AI going on. Or, by the stroke of luck, they might have found the mainframe for the nightmare bots and endos. What gave it away was orders being written. Saphira wouldn't even know how Springtrap was doing it, but she could only guess he was using some kind of technology. A chip, perhaps, buried deep in his undead mind. That would make sense.
"What is this place for?" Gregory asked as he looked around the room curiously. "All I am seeing are strange programs on the computers. I have not seen them before. They are strange, and yet…they run like a human mind…"
"Just like the AI the Glamrocks run off. Sort of." Saphira looked away from the screen she was looking at and began to look around for the hard line. "If this is the mainframe for them, we need to shut it down."
"How?"
Saphira grimaced as she felt another contraction, making her clutch her stomach a little. She took deep breaths as she looked around for a moment. She gasped as she spotted another door and walked towards it. It was a door with an obscure glass window. It was open slightly and she pushed it open. She saw this was another computer room, and there were multiple computers here. But she also notice an axe hanging on the wall. It had blood stains on the blade and handle, and she was certain there was some flesh stuck to it too.
But it was the only thing that would cut the hard line quickly. She walked over to it and grabbed it off the wall and walked out of the room. Gregory jumped as he was surprised she had a weapon, though she looked around the server room again with a deep breath. "I think this should do the trick. We just need to figure out where the hard line is."
"And what if this isn't the mainframe?" Gregory asked curiously, glancing around to see if there was another way out, and he spotted a door at the very end of the room. The door was black, or the shadows hid what color the paint was, but it didn't matter. "We could end up exposing our location."
"I am aware of that, Gregory. But we have to do something." Saphira smiled at him kindly. "We will not survive if we let him keep control of his army."
Gregory understood Saphira, but he was worried this was not the correct place. He knew Saphira was worried about that too. Nonetheless, it was better to try than to do nothing. He did not want to be chased by the endos or nightmare bots either. There was a chance this mainframe was also only for one of them. It is possible it was just the nightmare bot mainframe. He had doubts this was for the endos, but it was something. And with so many cables, it was going to take a little while to locate the hard line. And they knew they did not have much time as it was dwindling every, single, minute.
