NJ771 - Hm... that is a possibility of happening. I don't plan on adding the Enchanted Forest (as far as right now) so I could slip Bruni in somewhere.
The day Hiccup and Elsa dreaded came.
It was the day of Hiccup's Final Exam where he will have to kill a dragon in front of the entire village. Everyone was gathered at the Arena, cheering and shouting Hiccup's name as Stoick gave his speech about how proud he is of his son.
"Well, I can show my face in public again!" Stoick cheered, hearing the applauding. "If someone had told me that in just a few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well...Hiccup, to the best in Dragon Training. Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!"
Inside the Arena near the gate, Hiccup was listening to the speech, growing more nervous as the speech went on. Elsa then walked up and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Be careful with that dragon," Elsa said to Hiccup.
"It's not the dragon I'm worried about." Hiccup said, watching Stoick take his seat.
"What are you gonna do?" Elsa asked.
"Put an end to this. I have to try." Hiccup said and looked at his sister in sadness. "Listen...Elsa, if something goes wrong... just make sure they don't find Toothless and Luna."
"Hiccup, you know I wouldn't let anything happen to them," Elsa said as she threw her arms around him Hiccup put his arms around her.
Hiccup nodded, knowing that she would already do that regardless of the events of today. "I know, but...I also need you to run."
Elsa knew that request was coming. He wanted her to be safe, and those dragons would eventually be discovered if they stayed on Berk. Their original plan still stands if things don't go well today. Nothing can change their plan to run now.
"Okay," Elsa promised, aware of what she needed to do.
Hiccup pulled her close and kept hugging his sister, wondering what they were going to do. The two then stayed like that for a moment before breaking up and wiping a few tears away.
"Just... promise us it won't go wrong." Elsa pleaded.
Hiccup didn't reply as Gobber came up to Hiccup. "It's time, Hiccup. Knock him dead."
Gobber then allowed Hiccup in as he closed the gates and went to join Stoick in the stands.
As Hiccup entered, the Vikings cheered even louder. Hiccup walked towards the weapon rack and picked a shield and a dagger.
"Hmm. I would've gone for the hammer." Stoick said to Gobber.
Hiccup then called out. "I'm ready."
Even though that was as false as it could possibly get. His heart was racing, his entire body was trembling in fear of what was yet to come.
The lock to the gate lifted, followed by the gate bursting open, and out came the Monstrous Nightmare, who had coated itself with flames and roared as it left its' cage.
The dragon climbed out from the ceiling, shooting fire at the other Vikings who managed to dodge them. It then set its sights on Hiccup. It dropped down from the ceiling and inched closer and closer to Hiccup.
Hiccup took a deep breath and then threw away his shield and his dagger, leaving everyone but Elsa confused.
"What is he doing?" Stoick mumbled.
"It's okay. It's okay." Hiccup said, trying to calm down the Monstrous Nightmare. He then noticed he was staring at the helmet. Seeing this, Hiccup took off his helmet and threw it away. "I'm not one of them."
This caused the villagers, except for Elsa, to gasp in shock.
"Stop the fight," Stoick said, not believing what he was seeing.
"No! I need you all to see this." Hiccup said, reaching his hand towards the dragon. "They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them."
"I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!" Stoick yelled with rage as he banged his hammer against the rails.
Suddenly the Monstrous Nightmare started panicking and started attacking Hiccup. Hiccup screamed and started running, trying to avoid getting burned by the dragon.
Back at the cove, Toothless immediately heard Hiccup was in trouble. He then started to jump around the cove and tried to claw his way out.
Luna tried to help get him out, using all her strength to lift him so he could get a grip on the outside.
"Out of my way!" Stoick said as he pushed the villages near him aside.
"Hiccup!" Elsa yelled in fear of her brother.
Elsa then decided she has had enough and used her powers to freeze the bars to the point she could use a hammer to smash her way inside.
Once she was in, Elsa blasted a powerful mist of ice at the dragon. Giving it a new target and making it focus on her.
Stoick made his way towards the entrance and opened the gate, allowing the teens to escape. "This way!"
But before they could make it, Elsa and Hiccup were pinned by the Monstrous Nightmare. The dragon then pounces on them, trapping them with its claws.
Before it could blast either of them or Elsa was able to defend them, two roars filled the Arena as the villagers looked towards the source. A white glow came from the sky as a black figure flew through the crowd and the two blasted the bars on the arena and went into defensive mode.
The two of them went in and immediately started to attack the Nightmare to get away from their riders.
"Night Fury!" Gobber yelled in shock when he noticed the other dragon. "And... a Bright Fury?"
Toothless fought the Nightmare around the arena, ignoring the shouts from the other Vikings, and attacked the Monstrous Nightmare. While he was doing that, Luna was shielding the kids from the fight and defended them when the Nightmare came too close.
After about a minute of fighting, they were able to get the dragon away from Hiccup and Elsa and made it retreat into the cage. But then the village Vikings started to come into the arena and were ready to kill the two.
"Okay, Toothless go. Get out of here!" Hiccup begged, trying to push Toothless to go.
"Luna, get out of here too, please." Elsa pleaded.
But the two dragons refused. The village Vikings charged into the Arena and tried to attack the Furies, but Lina and Toothless fought back. Stoick then charged into the Arena toward the dragons.
"Dad, wait!" Elsa cried.
"Dad, he won't hurt you!" Hiccup shouted.
It was too late. Toothless ran towards him and attacked while Elsa managed to hold Luna back. After a brief struggle, Toothless had Stoick pinned to the ground, and to the kid's horror, was preparing to fire a plasma blast.
"Toothless! STOP!" Hiccup yelled.
Elsa had finally had enough of this insanity and immediately slammed her foot on the ground, leveling the entire ground with a coat of ice that stopped both dragon and Viking alike. Stoick got up and saw the Night Fury being held down by the Vikings while his two children were trying to help their enemies.
Stoick then noticed how Elsa was holding the Light Fury back and how it had defended his children and kept them safe. He didn't know when Elsa was practicing skills like this, as that was what she was doing with her time along with the dragons in the Cove. She learned a lot of skills against dragons while playing with the Furys. He was starting to have mixed feelings about the entire situation: anger, regret, sadness, disgrace.
The three Haddocks stood there, all of them holding their position of holding the Light Fury back, keeping the Night Fury from killing them, and staring at the kids. Until a certain old cranky man in the crowd cried out to let himself be heard.
"You see?!" It seemed Mildew had finally decided to take this moment to make his point heard. "The Haddock's children are in league with the dragons!"
The two kids looked back at one another, realizing that they just made all of Mildew's claims true with this one simple mistake. All of the Vikings then started to agree with him and chant for their heads.
Hiccup and Elsa stopped and immediately started to calm down, only to then be tackled by a few of the members of the village. Stoick had no idea what he was going to do, so he went with the only thing that he could think to say first.
"Put them with the others."
Elsa and Hiccup could not believe what they heard him say, but also didn't expect anything less from him. Hiccup was pulled up and Elsa was close behind him and they were tossed into one of the empty dragon cages.
"No!" Hiccup cried as he ran to the door, only for it to shut when he reached it.
What they said was true. From this moment now on, nothing will ever be the same. Their lives, as well as the fate of their dragons, now rested in the hands of their dragon-hating father.
This could be it. This could be the end of the road for them. They can either get banishment, while their dragons are slaughtered in front of the village...or they were going to be executed along with their dragons.
This truly was it. There was no way out of this scenario.
