2 MONTHS LATER:

Things have changed a lot since the Red Death's...death. Hiccup and Elsa were free, trying to figure out what was next for them. Giving time for Hiccup to heal and get used to his new leg, the two of them figured soon they should venture off and leave Wingmaiden island.

But for Hiccup, it would mean leaving Heather behind, as he knows he can't just ask her to abandon her home to run off to who knows where with him.

Speaking of change, Heather taught Hiccup how to use the dragons scales as clothes and armor like she has. His outfit now consists of a basic green tunic, leather pants, and padding, all covered by a type of leather armor plating along his shoulders and upper chest, along with arm brackets that seem to all be designed by himself, making him more streamline in the air like Toothless.

As of now, Hiccup and Toothless were flying through the air as they would every morning, doing a flight around the Wingmaiden island whilst also doing their patrol for anyone approaching.

The duo flew around some island pillars trying out Toothless' adjustments that he and Heather have made over time.

"Okay, Bud, let's try the new move!" Hiccup said as Toothless rolled his eyes.

Toothless didn't even bother to try and argue with him as he took a dive down and took a shot upwards and high into the air.

"Yeah!" Hiccup cheered as they kept going. "That's it, Toothless! You've got it!"

As they kept going, Hiccup didn't notice the latch on Toothless' tail coming loose and he slips off his back.

"Oh, no! Not again!" Hiccup cried as he began to fall. "Hey, Toothless!"

The dragon then flew after his rider as they just fell aside one another, not even flinching at this anymore.

"Hey." Hiccup greeted his friend.

Toothless grumbled back as a greeting as they kept plummeting.

"So, plummet to our death, or any ideas?" Hiccup asks Toothless.

Toothless then fell faster before adjusting himself so that Hiccup would land on his back.

"I've really got to get my own pair of wings." Hiccup commented as he continued to fly. "Wait, what's that?" He noticed there was a boat in the middle of their waters and wondered who would be traveling this close and noticed a recognizable face. "Wait. It can't be."

Hiccup then flew over and Toothless landed aside the dingy to notice that it was indeed who he thought it was.

"Trader Johann?" Hiccup asked in shock to see the man in this dingy, his boat nowhere to be seen.

Hiccup brought Johann to an island stand nearby of Wingmaiden's home while going back to bring Elsa and Heather over to look him over.

Heather started to check to make sure Johann was okay while Elsa was talking to Hiccup about what to do.

"How did Johann get so far out here?" Elsa wonders.

"From what I could gather from his mumbling, he mentioned something about Hunters." Hiccup replied no idea what to make of it.

"Hey, guys." Heather got their attention as Johann started to wake up. "He's waking up."

"Johann." Hiccup sighed as he walked over and kneeled to look him in the eye. "You're okay."

"Master Hiccup?" Johann asks him, surprised to see the Heir of Berk was here. "You're alive!"

"What?" Hiccup asked, shocked to hear that.

"Well, the last time that I had visited Berk, you, your sister, and your father were nowhere to be seen," Johann informed them, getting both of them to look shocked to hear that.

"Wait, what happened to our father?" Elsa asked, getting worried for Stoick.

Johann got up and wiped himself down. "I'm not entirely sure. It was as if your entire bloodline disappeared overnight."

Hiccup couldn't believe what he was hearing and started to think about what the people did to their father. But if he had to guess, he was banished from Berk after helping them escape. So there was nothing they could do for him, but that means he could possibly be out there somewhere.

"Johann, so why were you in a dingy?" Hiccup asks him.

"I was attacked by the tremendous monstrous people known as Dragon Hunters," Johann said, causing the two to look shocked after hearing that. "They are people who trap and sell or kill dragons!"

"Thank you for summoning that up!" Olaf let his presence known, scaring Johann at the sight.

"What is that?!" Johann asked, looking at the snowman.

"Hi, I'm Olaf!" Olaf greeted the man.

"Elsa's been practicing with her powers and brought him to life." Hiccup explained, but they were more interested in the Dragon Hunters. That got the three of their attention as they were angered at the thought of people like that out there.

"Why would they take your ship?" Heather wonders.

"I have a strong suspicion as to why they stole my ship," Johann confirmed as he took his eyes off Olaf, who chased a butterfly. "Inside the fog banks on the outer group islands inside the Archipelago."

"We've never gone into those fog banks before." Hiccup commented, knowing just the spot he was referring to. "Berk kept losing too many ships."

"When these Hunters took my ship before I had to abandon ship, I watched them come into possession of a very important map. One that leads to a graveyard of ships identity in the fog bank." Johann informs them of where they're going.

"What's so special about the fog bank, and why would Dragon Hunters go there?" Heather asked him, not seeing a connection.

Johann chuckled and got ready to tell the story. "Well, you see-"

"The short version, please!" Hiccup quickly stopped him from going too deep into the story.

Johann stopped himself and sighed. "It's where I store all my treasures and wares. They said they were going there for supplies to capture the Ice Queen and Dragon Tamer." Johann went straight to the point, surprising Elsa and Hiccup but Heather isn't used to Johann's stories so she's just confused. But then they realized that these Hunters plan on coming after them and got them worried. "Which reminds me of the first time I was labeled as 'concise'! He was a young man, very ugly, I actually-"

"Johann!" Hiccup interrupted him. "Is there anything else that's vitally important?"

"As a matter of fact, there is one ship you must avoid at all cost," Johann warns him. "It's called...the Reaper. Riddled with booby traps from stem to stern. Barely made it out with my life the only time I dared venture aboard."

"Okay, me and Toothless will go over and take a look ourselves. There could be a chance that they know where to find us, meaning that we need to go and stop them." Hiccup informed them as he looked at his sister and girlfriend. "You two take Johann to a hut on the island, I'll go check it out."

"Whoa, whoa, no," Heather immediately stopped him from going further with that statement. "We're not letting you go anywhere by yourself, especially to go against Dragon Hunters."

"Heather, you've seen some of them before?" Elsa asked her in surprise.

"Tons. They've come across the island a few times and were chased away by the Razorwhip mothers." Heather admitted, never realizing they have never met them before. "They're dangerous. You won't be able to fight them off alone, even with Toothless."

Hiccup sighed and saw she was the expert and should listen. "Okay, let's drop Johann off at the Wingmaiden's to let him heal, and we'll head out."

That's exactly what they did as they were currently soaring back into the Archipelago and towards the fog banks that Johann directed them towards to see if they could beat the Dragon Hunters.

They left him in the care of their friends, and it seems Olaf has already taken a liking to Johann and his stories. It was dark when they arrived at the ship graveyard and started to look at the strange markings and crests that they have never seen.

"Some of these ships...I've never seen anything like it," Heather commented.

"Let's fan out and see if we can find the Hunters." Hiccup days. "You see anything, set out a call."

"Got it," Elsa said as she flew off in another direction.

"Be safe," Heather said as she flew away.

Hiccup then went forward and found a few ships and one of them had traps over it. "That's got to be the Reaper Johann was talking about."

Elsa was looking around and begins wondering if these Dragon Hunters were even around here but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.

Heather was looking around and Windshear was getting spooked by the fog and tried to comfort her. "It's okay, girl..."

When searching for some time, the three of them met back up at one of the damaged ships. None of them knew where these Dragon Hunters would be coming from.

"Seems that we were the first to arrive," Heather commented from the deck. "So what do we do?"

"We can't wait around for these Dragon Hunters to arrive." Hiccup commented and tried to think of a plan. "If they get Johann's treasures, they would most likely use them to finance themselves and come after us."

Elsa started to understand what her brother was saying and got an idea. "What if we take them ourselves?"

"Take the treasures?" Hiccup asked her and thought of it. "Actually, not a bad idea."

"You sound surprised," Elsa commented on his choice of tone.

"Search the ships, gather all of Johann's grease, and keep your eyes open for Dragon Hunters." Hiccup warned them.

That's when they hear hissing and started to look around the ship. Wondering where the hissing was coming from. Looking over the side, Hiccup noticed eels swimming around in the waters.

He remembered how Toothless and Luna reacted to the eels in the baskets and looked at Elsa. "Elsa, freeze the water!"

Elsa jumped onto the side of the ship and saw the eels before shooting her ice at the water. This action caused the water to freeze over and left them safe from the eels.

"I say we have a good three hours before that water begins to defrost," Elsa assured them they would be safe.

"Okay, good." Hiccup sighed to see that they would be okay. "Let's be safe and try not to fall in the water."

"Got it," Heather said as she left with Windshear to one of the other ships.

Meanwhile, Elsa noticed Hiccup was eyeing the Reaper ship and was getting worried. "What are you thinking?"

"That...if that ship has so many traps, what are they hiding?" Hiccup questioned and thought of checking it out. "It might be worth looking into."

"This isn't about your situation with Heather, is it?" Elsa asks him. "About our decision to leave Wingmaiden's island?"

"What? No." Hiccup replies.

A while ago, the Haddock siblings have decided maybe it was time that they moved off of the island to stop attracting attention to the people who have kept them safe. That also meant for Hiccup that he needed to leave Heather. And that was something that he didn't want to do, but knows he needs to do it.

It was hard to explain their situation to the snowman, who has only turned two months old. But they think that he understands enough to realize they need to leave.

"Look, I promise to tell her about this later." Hiccup promises her and starts to climb on top of Toothless and fly off towards the Reaper.

"When?" Elsa asks to the open air.
