After weeks of work and planning, the group had finally built a home for themselves and the dragons from Berk. The place was really coming together with the three of them working together, the dragons all giving a helping hand with their combined powers, as well as Olaf supervising.

They were all resting in their separate huts. Elsa created herself a bedroom in her ice castle with Olaf, Hiccup, and Heather also slept in separate rooms for Elsa's mental stability. And because they couldn't stand the idea of her mocking them from sleeping together yet.

But as they were resting, they were awoken by the smell of smoke. Heather was the first one to wake up as she looked around and see that the hut was leaking smoke from underneath.

"What?" Heather asked as she ran outside and saw the Dragon's Edge (which is what they decided to call their home) was currently on fire. "Hiccup! Elsa!"

Her screams seemed to wake up Hiccup and Elsa as the two ran out, followed by Olaf running out. When they reached the doors, they were shocked to see that the entire base was on fire.

"Elsa, get the fire!" Hiccup called out to Elsa as he raced to the dragon hanger. "Heather, you're with me!"

"On it!" Elsa said as she raced and shot snow at everything on fire.

Hiccup and Heather ran to the hangar and opened the doors. The Berk dragons then flew off to get a safe distance away until the situation was under control. Luna flew Elsa to the ground where she started to get the fire under control.

Olaf was also trying his best, but he only ended up constantly setting his hands on fire. Elsa then started to get the fire under control, also getting weaker as this was the longest that she's used her powers and consistently. Sending one final blast on the ground, she ended up finally giving in and dropping to her knees.

"Okay..." Elsa sighed as Hiccup and Heather landed nearby and ran over to her. "Okay, I think it's over."

"What happened?" Hiccup wonders. "How did the place set on fire?"

"None of us left the fire running, did we?" Heather wonders, feeling it might've been that.

"No, I made sure to make sure it was off." Elsa denied that as Hiccup helped her stand up.

"Then what could have caused a fire like this?" Olaf wonders.

But then Luna, Windshear, and Toothless started to growl at something around them. That didn't ease any of them as they were wondering what got them spooked.

Then they jumped when they saw a streak of fire flashing past them, leaving a trail of fire behind. They all jumped and charged after the perpetrator of the chaos, Elsa keeping it from escaping by creating a wall of ice around it.

They managed to make it to the Clubhouse (where they train themselves and dragons) where mostly all of it was made out of stone and metal. That means their little flame can't burn anything down and Heather closed the doors while Elsa kept it inside.

The flame started to swirl around, noticing that there was no way for it to escape. Ready to extinguish this moving troublemaker, Elsa got a closer look at the creature.

What they once considered to just be a living flame, was really a blue-and-fuchsia-colored salamander that was on fire. Elsa was surprised by this as she went down on one knee and saw a creature similar to her. She has never seen another creature infused with an element like her.

Monstrous Nightmares have an evolutionary purpose to ignite themselves on fire, but this was something different.

When she got down closer to the salamander, it became defensive and spat out some fire at her. But Elsa dodged it and the fire hit a piece of the Clubhouse. Working fast, she quickly shot a blast of ice to freeze it.

That seemed to catch the salamander's attention as he stopped and cooled down on the fire. He then started to crawl and chitter his way towards Elsa.

She saw that this wasn't a dangerous animal, just a cautious one. She laid her palm out for the salamander to crawl onto. As it did so, Elsa winces at the pain of the fire he was casting as she tried to get a handle on him. Passing him back and forth between her hands for a moment, then got used to it.

It seemed that the salamander was growing accustomed to her cold hands as he laid and rolled around Elsa's palms. The fire started to calm down so Heather and Hiccup opened the doors and noticed Elsa dropping some snowflakes for it.

"What is that?" Hiccup asked as he walked over to his sister.

"Well, for starters, it's a salamander." Elsa starkly told him.

Hiccup rolled his eyes, feeling that he should have seen that coming. "I figured that part out. But I've never seen a salamander that could light itself on fire."

"It's definitely a different salamander than ones we've seen on Berk." Elsa agreed with him there. "Guess he just saw us as a threat or something."

As they were talking, they suddenly heard what sounded like a roar coming from the shore. That immediately got all of their attention and even the salamander looked toward the shore.

"That sounds like something we should check out," Heather commented.

They all loaded up on their dragons and flew around the island as they started to look around for what made the noise. Flying around the shore, they came across what they guessed was the cause of the cries. There was a dragon that was laying on their shore crying for help.

To be more specific, it was a Scauldron.

This dragon is gigantic, growing up to a size nearly the same as many giant cetaceans. It is a huge sea dragon that walks on four stubby and powerful legs. They have intense obesity to heat the water they suck in. Its tail is like that of a fish, helping it to swim. When filled with water, the Scauldron's stomach protrudes out and becomes very round. Its neck is very long and thin, and its head is usually fairly slender with its bottom jaw having a sort of pouch that hangs from its chin. When it is out of water for a long time, it begins to dehydrate due to which its skin turns into a shade of grey.

Its bottom jaw is very flexible, and it bulges out when filled with water. The bulging of its jaw is an indication that it is going to shoot boiling water. Its eyes are located near the front of its face, and it has a thin, curving nasal horn. It has peg-like teeth that are ideal for catching fish, very sharp, and also happen to be venomous. Two or more whisker-like strings are connected to the Scauldrons' upper jaw.

"A Scauldron?" Hiccup said in confusion.

"What's it doing on land?" Heather questions in worry.

"Catching some sunlight?" Olaf guessed.

"Wait." Elsa then noticed the pinned wing underneath some rocks. "Look."

"Let's check this out." Hiccup said as they went in for a landing.

When they got closer, the Scauldron got defensive and roared to scare them away. But that didn't work as they got a look around the area and noticed something.

"There must have been a rockslide and his wing got pinned before he could get to the water." Heather guessed what happened.

"A tidal class dragon can't stay out of the water for very long." Hiccup worried that if they don't help it, the dragon would die from the heat. "If its skin dries all the way..."

"We're not gonna let that happen," Elsa promises and looked at the wild Scauldron. "We got any ideas how we're gonna pull this off?"

"Well, I was kinda hoping that you could help keep it hydrated." Hiccup admitted as he looked at Elsa.

"I create snow and ice, it takes too long for it to become water," Elsa admitted as she has no control over how long the snow lasts. "I'm not going to be helpful on that part."

Hiccup then decided that he should at least get the dragon's trust before they could do much else. He started to walk closer to the Scauldron and Elsa and Heather were on standby in case something were to go wrong. And they knew that something was surely going to go wrong.

The closer that the two of them got, the more defensive the Scauldron got at them. Roaring to try and scare them away, Toothless returned the roar in anger when Hiccup tried to calm him down.

"It's okay, Bud." Hiccup assured him, knowing he was being defensive. "I'll be fine."

Toothless then took a few steps back and allowed Hiccup to take charge. "Hey there. How'd you get yourself into this mess?"

The Scauldron roars and got Hiccup to back away in fear.

"Okay, that's, that's not really important." Hiccup decided to put a pin in that for now. "What-what is important is us getting you out of here. So, what do you say?"

They waited and Hiccup watched as the Scauldron was starting to regurgitate its boiling water. That caused Hiccup to run for cover as when the dragon blasted its water, Elsa jumped ahead and shot a blast of ice.

"Okay." Hiccup said as he came out of hiding. "Not the answer I was looking for. Does anyone have any ideas?"

"I have an idea!" Olaf jumped up with a hand raised, getting their attention. "What if you cut up bread and have it already sliced? Then you could enjoy a bit of it at a time."

Heather thought of it and saw that wasn't the worst idea. "That's not helpful here, Olaf, but not your worst idea."

"What if we had Toothless and Windshear blast the boulders?" Elsa asks as she gestured to the boulders.

"That's too big a risk for him and our dragons," Heather admitted, knowing even Windshear's armored skin couldn't handle the heat.

"We need to find a way to explain that we're friends." Hiccup tried his best to think of a way.

"What if we tried to get him wet?" Olaf offered, actually giving a real solution this time.

"Is it just me or does that make sense?" Elsa wonders surprised he actually offered a solution.

"It's worth a try." Hiccup guessed.

They quickly for to work and flew back to the Edge for some buckets. Taking all that they could carry, they made their way back to the shore. When they did, they filled the buckets to shorten the trip.

But when they tried to get it on the dragon, it didn't seem to like their attempts to help. Attacking them almost immediately to defend himself, it knocked the buckets out of their hands.

Hiccup quickly recovered and flew to catch Heather before she could slam into the rocks. Elsa just shielded herself by creating a snowbank for her to crash into. Once she did, she groaned and started to crawl her way out.

Except when she did leave the bank, she ended up finding she landed right in front of the Scauldron.

"Elsa!" Hiccup cried when he landed and saw his sister in front of the dragon. "Don't move."

"You think I was going to?!" Elsa cried as quietly as she could, trying her best not to move.

The Scauldron then leaned up close to Elsa and she got ready to fight back if needed. But then she was shocked when she realized that the dragon was smelling her.

"Is it...smelling her?" Heather asks in confusion.

"Maybe it'll let us help." Hiccup said as he took a few steps closer to it.

But then the Scauldron got defensive again and got ready to fight Hiccup when he backed away.

"Or maybe not," Heather commented.

"What is it about her that it likes so much?" Hiccup wonders, not seeing what the Scauldron smells on her.

Olaf then raised his head in his hands to let himself be seen from behind a rock. "Maybe she smells like its mother!"

Hiccup and Heather looked over to the snowman, unsure how to respond to that. Even Elsa didn't know how to respond as she eyed the snowman whilst keeping her eyes on the Scauldron.

"Elsa, you got any ideas?" Hiccup called out to his sister.

Elsa started to consider everything that she has done in the past day or so. "I don't know. I took a bath in the ocean earlier before that fire lizard woke us."

"That could be it." Heather took a guess. "The smell of her salty water is possibly calming it down."

"What, am I the only one who washes?" Elsa asked, unsure why it was just her.

"I used the lake," Heather admitted.

"Same here," Hiccup added.

"You guys bathe?" Olaf asked.

Elsa rolled her eyes. "Unbelievable."

"Hey, if the smell of you keeps that dragon calm, maybe there's a chance we can help it." Hiccup was happy to see.

A while passed and they watched Elsa start to train the Scauldron. Thanks to her hands-on experience with training Luna, she was able to help keep it calm.

"So, what are you gonna name him?" Heather wonders.

"How about Scauldy?" Elsa asked as she scratched the dragon's chin.

"Very original." Hiccup commented.

"Oh, yeah, right, Toothless?" Elsa asked the Night Fury, who laughed at the statement.

"Fine. You've got that." Hiccup shrugged and let her do her thing. "Let's just start to get those rocks off."

Then Scauldy started to growl at Hiccup when Elsa kept him calm. "Hey, hey, it's okay, Scauldy. Just stay calm."

Hiccup and Toothless managed to fly out and grab one of the boulders.

"It's working." Elsa was happy to see when it seemed Scauldy noticed the others. He then started to growl when Elsa turned his head to her. "Guys!"

"Try something to keep him off us." Hiccup tells her.

Elsa then started to think of something and went with all she could think of. Sing. "Where the Northwind meets the sea. There's a river full of memory. Sleep, my darling, safe and sound. For in this river all is found."

They quickly worked on getting the boulders off of the wing whilst Hiccup was curious where she heard that song before. He never heard much of Elsa's parents, but he doesn't remember any songs like that from his youth.

"In her waters, deep and true. Lie the answers and a path for you. Dive down deep into her sound. But not too far or you'll be drowned." Elsa continued singing the random song that came to her mind.

That bought them enough time to get the boulders off of his wing and allow him to move it. But the moment that he did move his wing, the Scauldron screeched loud enough to send Elsa skidding across the sand.

"Its wing is broken?" Heather asked, not believing their luck.

"So, we did this for nothing?" Olaf asks and walks away. "Well, tough break. That's life."

"Wow." Hiccup didn't know how to take what Olaf just said. "We can still fix it."

"How? A giant dragon splint?" Elsa asked as she crawled out of the sand.

"Exactly!" Hiccup confirmed.

"Really?" Heather asks him.

"I'll go to the Edge, find as much rope as I can." Hiccup tells her. "You go to find as many logs as you can cut."

"On it." Heather and Windshear flew off.

"And Elsa-"

"Yeah, I got it, I'm babysitting the Scauldron," Elsa assured she knew her role and looked to Scauldy. "No offense."

"What do I do?" Olaf wonders.

"Olaf...keep Elsa company." Hiccup decided as he flew off.

After a while, they managed to get the logs and rope together whilst Elsa was able to keep Scauldy off their back. Putting the rope and logs together, they start to notice they might not have enough rope or logs for him.

"I think we might just have enough," Heather said as she quickly tied the last of the rope. "We did it!"

"Just in time." Hiccup saw that Scauldy didn't have much time left. "Let's-"

But just when they thought it was time to help him in the water, the rope snapped on them.

"No!" Heather cried as she quickly tried to fix it. "It won't work!"

"Don't we have anymore?" Elsa wonders.

"No. That was the last of it." Hiccup was sorry to admit.

Elsa looked at the drying-out Scauldron and tried to think of a plan. Looking at how pale he was, she looked at the rope and then realized something that could help.

"Wait," Elsa said with a smile and created a sword out of ice. "I've got an idea!"

And now a while later, the group watched as Scauldy was swimming back through the waters. Elsa looked down at the wing and saw the makeshift rope she used.

It was her hair.

Her long auburn blonde hair was now cut short to the point it was just covering her forehead now. It wasn't something she was yet comfortable with, but it was something that she was willing to do.

Scauldy lifted his head back up as Elsa quickly pet his head. "See you later, Scauldy. Come back anytime you want."

"Just try and let us know first." Hiccup joked.

With that, he started to make their way off into the sky and made their way back home. But there was still something that was bugging Hiccup.

"Hey, Elsa. What was that song you were singing back there?" Hiccup wonders.

"I don't know," Elsa admitted with a shrug as they flew home. "It just...came to me." But then there was a surprise reappearance of the salamander. "Oh, hey."

"What are we gonna call this little guy?" Heather wonders.

"How about Bruni?" Olaf asks.

"That's a good name." Elsa agreed.

They then flew home as Hiccup was still questioning that song. That wasn't a melody of anything that he has ever heard from Berk.

It was too calm and soothing for the people of Berk.
