As the next day came around, Hiccup, Elsa, and Heather flew out of the Archipelago with an entire boat hooked onto the back of their dragon's feet. They flew them tonight the storm and off toward their home.
Never in a hundred years did they consider that they would be dragging the same people who once bullied them to train dragons. And they needed to hurry up to get back in worry about what Olaf and Bruni did to the Edge while they were gone.
But to their surprise, the place didn't look too bad when they returned. In fact, it was perfectly fine.
Something felt wrong.
But to their surprise, when they flew and landed on the beach, they found Olaf and Bruni running around and just playing around.
"Hey, Olaf!" Elsa was happy to see that he was okay. "You and Bruni didn't burn the Edge down."
"Well, I owe you some silver scales," Heather admitted, betting that Olaf or Bruni would have burned down the Edge.
"I'm impressed." Hiccup had to admit as he got off the back of Toothless.
"Of course. You should really trust me more." Olaf said. "It will truly help my self-esteem."
"You don't have self-esteem," Elsa commented.
"Uh..." Tuffnut looked as he got off the boat and saw the snowman. "Is that snowman...talking?"
"Yeah, he is," Hiccup confirmed with a sigh.
"It's a long story." Elsa quickly informed them.
"Come on. We're going to show you where you're going to stay." Hiccup said as he got onto Toothless and flew around the Edge.
"Whoa!" Fishlegs said as he got a look at Toothless flying around. "That's... amazing!"
"One way to put it," Astrid had to admit while still on Stormfly.
Hiccup really had changed over the years.
Hiccup then had Toothless land on a clear portion of the land. Once the others followed him, they wondered what he was doing.
"This is where you'll be staying. Feel free to design the area as much as you want. You are open to asking, but we're not your servants. You're here to train, nothing else."
"Uh, who put you in charge?" Snotlout asks, already quick to challenge the authority.
Elsa quickly sent a blast out from behind them and ended up shooting his hat off. Snotlout shrieked as he looked back and saw his helmet covered in ice.
Looking over to the location the ice came from, he saw Elsa staring at him sternly. Heather also stood there in anger as Windshear came over and readied her spikes for an attack.
"We did." Elsa and Heather answered simultaneously.
Snotlout didn't seem to wanna question their authority and sheepishly kneeled to then grab his helmet and place it on his head. "Okay! Just making sure we're clear."
Hiccup rolled his eyes and was happy to at least see that the girls had his back. Then he did a quick whistle and managed to call out a few of the dragons. A few tricks that they learned to contact dragons to them without the need to go looking for them.
The Monstrous Nightmare, Gronckle, Zippleback, and Stormfly returned as they flew over and landed near Hiccup. There weren't many other dragons out there on the island as of yet, they were pretty much the only dragons they could use.
Who knows? Astrid was able to bond with Stormfly faster due to their history. It wasn't exactly the best history, but it was history, nonetheless.
As Hiccup placed his hand out for the Nightmare and decided to start with Snotlout. He decided to take a page from Gobber's book and teach while on the job. The Nightmare started to follow Hiccup, trusting him after saying him from Berk.
The others stood back and watched in awe as Hiccup was "controlling" a dragon with ease. Astrid just had a smile as she's already seen it before but couldn't believe how almost simple Hiccup made it look. Snotlout how we looked more nervous than amazed and started to whimper in fear. Looking on the ground, he saw a spear that Olaf must've knocked over or something. He reached to pick it off the ground to defend himself when Astrid quickly stopped him.
Astrid smacked him on the shoulder, denying him the use of the spear. Hiccup then reached them just as he reached out for Snotlout's arm.
"Five of Luna's scales that he gets his arm bitten off." Elsa bets Heather, being far away that they didn't hear her.
"You're on," Heather stated, up for it working or the boy losing his arm.
Snotlout started to worry when Hiccup started to take Snotlout's arm and put it to the dragon's snout. "Wait, what are you doing?"
"Shh. Trust me." Hiccup said as Snotlout decides to not anger the dragon.
Snotlout then gets his hand on the snout and the Nightmare flinched at the new hand but started to slowly calm down again. Snotlout looked amazed and even laughed as he felt around the snout slowly and cared. Hiccup saw that his work on number one was done and walked off.
"Wait, where are you going?" Snotlout asks him.
"You're gonna want something to hold onto." Hiccup said as he walked over to the edge of the Clubhouse.
Once he reached it, he opened a container around the arena that was used as storage. As he opened it, he saw a few other saddles that they made so that they could fit other dragons.
As they were watching, Elsa was starting to fall asleep on the ground when Heather saw her. "You want to get some rest?"
"No, I'm okay," Elsa promises, only to start to fall asleep again. "I'm..."
Heather smacked her on the shoulder. "Come on. Go to bed."
"You might be right." Elsa decided to just take her idea and go to bed.
As Elsa was starting to walk around the Edge, she heard screaming and looked to see it was Snotlout on his first flight. She couldn't help but laugh at the man who tormented the two of them being bashed around their most beloved creatures.
Hiccup couldn't help but laugh a little as he was watching Snotlout struggle to stay in the air. Heather walked over to him and saw how happy this was making him.
"You could at least pretend to not be happy," Heather commented.
"I could, but it would be a lie." Hiccup confessed with a smile when he noticed no sign of his sister. "Where's Elsa?"
"She was tired, made her go get some rest," Heather explained to him, gesturing to her hut.
Hiccup nodded as he looked around and saw that the others were also still trying to get a handle on the dragons. "You want to stay and give me a hand with this?"
"I don't know, I'm enjoying the show," Heather admitted.
That was until they heard what sounded like Zippleback gas. Then there was a spark that caused them to jump and flinch, looking over to the cause and saw the twins on the Zippleback. Olaf came running past them, the top of his head on fire, screaming at the top of his lungs.
"I'll get the snowman," Heather stated as she walked off with a sigh to get to Olaf.
Elsa watched them and looked over to Luna, shrugging it off as this chaos Hiccup can control. She then started to walk into the hut when she...heard something? When she looked around, she looked out to the distance where she swore that she heard some sort of call.
She looked over to Luna who didn't seem to hear the call. "Did you hear that?"
Luna only looked more confused as she looked at where Elsa was looking at. She didn't hear anything and was confused as she looked back over to Elsa, gurgling to confirm she didn't hear anything.
"Huh." Elsa was a bit confused as she just walked off to head to bed.
Out on the shores of the many islands out there that have been left unexplored, there were men out with many of the same cages that the Riders found on the Reaper. A few people were loading up dragons into the cages while their leader was informed about stories from the Archipelago. Stories flew fast when two islands were either attacked or rescued by people riding dragons, he took an interest in it.
But not because of the dragon riders.
Because of the girl.
"Ryker," One of the Dragon Hunters proclaims as they ran to inform him. "There are rumors...stories of..."
"What?" Ryper asks as he turned to the Dragon Hunter.
Ryker is slightly taller, compared to Viggo and Dagur. He has a small, light scar on the left side of his face. He wears a silvery leather tunic somewhat similar to what the Outcasts wear. He also has on what appears to be one spiky shoulder guard and arm guard on one arm, and one regular arm guard on the other, a studded belt with a giant skull buckle and yellow dragon skin around the waist, indigo pants, and brown leather boots with orange spotted tips. Occasionally, he was seen with two dragon-proof swords strapped behind his back.
He reached and grabbed the Hunter and pulled him closer. "What rumors?"
"Dragon Riders." He choked out. "Attacked Outcast Island, and someone from Berk...with powers of ice. She can control the element."
Ryker's face went from stern and angry to shock and awe. "What?" He even went soft in his voice with his questioning and couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Could it be?" He lets the Hunter go and raced out to the docks. "Ready the boats! Get ready to set sail by nightfall!" His men quickly stopped all that they were doing and started to get ready to set sail whilst Ryker knew he needed to get more information over this Ice Queen Dragon Rider. "I must inform Viggo of this news." He then walked off to the end of the boat and looked out to the skies and open sea. "The Ice Princess... she lives."
Elsa wakes up again and finds herself on the ground in a forest somewhere. She wonders how she got there and stood up and looked around to see she actually wasn't in a forest but a street somewhere. She then noticed there were buildings nearby and they were all destroyed and being burned to the ground.
"Where the Northwind meets the sea. There's a river full of memory. Sleep, my darling, safe and sound. For in this river all is found."
That song. That was the one that she was singing to Scauldy.
But who was singing it now?
Elsa tried to run through the streets to try and find out where that voice was coming from.
"In her waters, deep and true. Lie the answers and a path for you. Dive down deep into her sound. But not too far or you'll be drowned."
When Elsa was running, she ended up slipping and falling to the ground. When she did, she suddenly got up and looked to see what looked to be a piece of cloth in her hand. what she saw was a complete purple cloth and a golden flower in the center. When she looked upward, she noticed that the bag Stoick gave her was laying on the ground and was open. But then she saw there was some sort of secret compartment zipped into the inside she never noticed.
"What..."
"Elsa!" A little girl's voice called out to her.
But before she could get any more answers or even figure out where the voice came from, she was immediately woken up by an explosion that made her jump out of bed. Racing or outside to see what had gone off, then noticed that it was just an accident with their barrels and Snotlout.
Hiccup had gotten them on their dragons and was now teaching them how to shoot. And it seems Snotlout and his dragon missed the target.
"And that's why we're practicing!" Elsa could hear Hiccup shout from the ground.
Elsa couldn't help but shake that dream, thinking it had some deeper meaning to it. She walked over to the satchel and remembered in the dream where the compartment was. To her shock, she discovered the same place on her bag and opened it.
When she looked inside the compartment, she pulled out the same cloth as in her dream. It was scary the detail of it that she somehow knew. The flower, if she guessed, was some sort of crest of some other tribe or village.
But why did she have it? Was it her parents and they left it in the bag for her? Why? What was so important about this?
But when she turned it over, a whole lot more questions quickly flooded her mind.
The back had her name on it.
Elsa.
It was different leering than she was used to from Berk or Outcast Island, etc, but she somehow knew that was her name. She knew that language easily. How? Where has she learned this knowledge? It was on the tip of her tongue.
She needs to find some more information before she can really look into this.
