My Hero Academia - Under Pressure - Season 3 - Chapter 1 - Welcome To Camp

The day before the summer camp was upon them, and Kuroda was making sure everyone was packed up.

They weren't told much about the plan for their "summer vacation", but they were told that it was going to feature intense training of a sort, they just didn't know how hard it would be, nor the kind of challenge it was to be.

As such, each of them were nervous in their own ways. Even those like Goya and Chuya, who rarely, if ever, showed fear of the unknown, were hesitant to say something that could come off as boastful about their upcoming experiences.

Kuroda kept everyone focused though, and after a message from Angel Wings came that they would be departing early in the morning, the class rep made sure that everyone was situated, as well as had their gear at the exit to their dorm so they could leave once they were dressed.

"And don't anyone think of screwing with the bags!" Kuroda said with clear intent, and a gaze at a few whom she felt would do such a thing. "We have enough to be stressed about without something 'conveniently going missing. Got it?"

"Got it," they all answered back.

Once they were all setup for the next week, the rest of the final day was them just relaxing and enjoying their "final resting moments" before the camp began.

For Tonen, he did his best to just enjoy the company of his teammates...most of them at least. After the final exam, he still had some anger within him after what Big Brain did, but per the advice of Principal Ayatsune, he got it to melt away but spending time with the others.

They talked at times about expectations, or what the camp itself would be like in terms of looks, who might be there to "guest teach" them, and so on.

Eventually though, they retired to their rooms to get some unwinding in before they slept. Tonen did what he did best and drew to take his mind off things both past, present, and future. He drew some key moments from the final exams that he thought was awesome, including Anno unleashing his "Super Shark" form, Eri going up against the martial arts master, Kanagita enduring the robot, and more.

He didn't draw himself from the exams, as that was a memory he'd rather not be immortalized in his works. Instead, he pulled a switch and decided to draw what he thought the class would look like at the summer camp.

While he preferred to draw realistic forms, he decided to do a more cartoonish "chibi" look for this picture. Each one of them with big heads, little bodies, and over the top expressions, all the while standing in front of a "traditional" camp setting.

As he got done, he couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah, that would be a fun camp to be at indeed. We won't be that lucky though."

With a final laugh he closed his art book and put it away along with his art supplies as he wouldn't be using them for a week. Content that he was as relaxed, and prepared, as he could be, he went to bed.

The next morning came, and it came early, as a pounding on Tonen's door jolted him from his sleep.

"Rise and shine, Tonen!" came the familiar voice of Kuroda. "Angel Wings is here and she said we're leaving in 30! Breakfast has been brought in, so let's go!"

As she left his door, he could hear her go to the next doors and repeat a similar message.

With a heavy groan, he got out of bed, and into his attire that his uncle had given him so that he could use his Quirk without issue. As he looked at the clock on his phone, he noticed it was only 5:30 AM.

"Seriously?" he remarked in disbelief, "I know they said 'early', but I didn't think it'd be that early..."

His thoughts on the matter were matched by the others. Because as they came together one by one into the main area and the dining area, they all were mumbling, grumbling, and all looked very tired.

"Why am I getting flashbacks of my last camping trip with me da?" questioned Fenella as she wiped her eyes to try and get them more awake.

"Look, I know I'm the fast one here, but that doesn't mean my body wakes up faster than others!" added in Oshibu.

Angel Wings looked at them with clear sympathy, "I'm sorry, everyone. We honestly weren't supposed to wake you up until another hour or so, but Armed Guard insisted that we do it now and Principal Ayatsune backed him up on this...so..."

The class gave a collective groan, they knew Armed Guard was a tough teacher, but this was just another level of punishment beyond what they would expect. Angel Wings did her best to hide a small laugh at their collective plight.

Kuroda was the one to snap them out of it, as she grabbed some nearby silverware and banged them together in order to make a high pitched sound which irritated many of them.

"It's not ideal, but do you think Pro-Heroes get to choose when they get up in the morning or got to bed at night at times?" she asked.

"We're not Pro-Heroes yet though..." mumbled Anno

"That's not an excuse, Anno, and you know it. We're trying to BECOME Pro-Heroes, so we need to do what they do at times, even if that means waking up really early in the morning."

"There is a purpose to this, right Angel Wings?" questioned Eri with a curious look.

"Yes, there is a reason Armed Guard did this," she replied with a nod for confirmation.

"Then that's enough for me."

"And me," added in Chuya.

"Well not us!" chimed in The Twins, both looking very tired.

"We could've at least gotten a little more of a warning," said Ueno with a very slow, tired, head wobble going on.

"They'd probably just say that was the 'intention'," chastised Goya with a particularly annoyed tone, "so that we could see how we handle waking up early on no notice to do work."

"Armed Guard said something along those lines," admitted Angel Wings.

"Ugh," Iha replied swiftly and simply.

"Right there with you, Iha," noted Azujima, also clearly very tired.

Kuroda banged the silverware again to get them to "wake up", "Ok, that's enough wallowing. Get some of the food Angel Wings brought up in you, that'll give you at least a little boost. Then grab your stuff and head to the busses outside. Right?"

"Right," the teacher acknowledged, "get in there soon and we'll be off. I'll see you outside."

With a bow, she departed, leaving the class to their own devices. The majority gave one last groan before heading to the tables to eat.

True to her statements, there were many food items to eat from, as well as various drinks for them to add to the meal to get them at least something to energize them. Tonen partook in some donuts and a bagel, and drank a few glasses of orange juice before he felt himself finally getting more awake.

The others slowly got into that feeling as well, and though they still weren't happy, they eventually made their way to the front doors, grabbed their stuff, and went outside.

The morning was still young, but it was bright enough outside to see their UA bus awaiting them, and outside it were Angel Wings and Armed Guard, who ushered them into the bus one by one.

When they were all aboard, Angel Wings couldn't help but look upon her fellow teacher with some dismay, "Did we really have to get team up so early, Hirota?"

"Yes, Tsuru," Armed Guard replied gruffly, "after everything that's happened, they need a truly hard test beyond what they did in the Final Exams. Plus, we only have a week before we get back to the more...standard...way of doing things. EVERY hour counts. So if we can add two more hours to the day by getting there two hours early? Then we must do so."

"I know it's just...I wonder if we push them too hard at times."

"A necessary evil in our world. However, that is why you and I are the teachers going to assist with Class 1-B. I'll push them hard, but you make sure I don't overdo it...too much."

He gave a small smile, and that seemed to comfort her, "Alright, alright. We best get started then."

With a nod to the other, they boarded the bus and took off.

As they exited the city, the class didn't really do much. In fact, many actually tried to sleep on the bus in order to catch up on what they'd lost.

But as a little time went on, and the environment shifted from cities to the vast Japanese landscapes, they got more energetic, more talkative, and soon enough they were back to their usual selves and discussing what was to come.

This only intensified as they soon realized they were going WAY out of the city and very much into the heart of the country. They could see the nearby mountains, as well as big lakes, rivers, and forests. Some of them, who hadn't been out of the city much in their lives, couldn't help but look at it with awe and wonder.

"Oh I wish I could run in that forest right now," Hana said at one point.

Ebirima popped up behind her, "Why's that? Do you have a cool forest transformation?"

"Yep, but I don't want to spoil it in case it'll come in hand in the training."

"Fair enough," admitted Fenella before a cheesy grin grew on her face, "guess we'll...leaf...you be."

Her and Ebirima cracked up at the joke, while Hana rolled her eyes, "Why do I even try with you two sometimes?"

"Because if you don't, you'll go barking up the wrong tree," put out Doza, which got another laugh.

"Oh!" said Ikaim, seeing an opportunity, "and they know how to get to the...root...of the problem!"

This got another raucous laugh from most of the class, much to the chagrin of Hana. After a pause though, she looked around at everyone then said, "Are you all done?"

"Yes!" said Wasuke boastfully, "It's vine-ally, over."

He paused and then belted out a laugh, which again got another wave of laughter to join in the puns.

Hana buried her face in her hands at the ongoing puns that continued, Kuroda "comforted her", but also couldn't help doing a pun when one came about.

Though this exchange made Hana, Chuya, and Goya groan louder and louder as it went on, it was yet another thing that energized the class as their sleepiness wore off.

The final spark came though when they finally reached their camp. As they figured, it was a place surrounded by the wilderness, but with some noticeable bodies of water and a mountain that was surprisingly close to them. Leaving many to wonder if climbing that might be one of their tasks.

"Alright everyone, we're here!" Angel Wings said as the bus stopped at last.

Armed Guard stood up beside her, "Now, everyone get out in quick fashion, NOW!"

With his order, they quickly got out, if for no other reason than they wanted to get off the bus after being on it for a few hours...and to avoid his shouting should he deem them "slow".

Once they all dispersed outside of the bus and took in the fresh, clean air of the camp, a calm fell upon them, even if it was only to be brief.

"I'll admit, I didn't know what to expect during that summer camp. If for no other reason than the first semester we had at UA was filled with training, kidnappings, festivals, inner class wars of a sort, internships and REALLY intense final exams. I'm not ashamed to say that I was very much a 'city kid' and that the outdoors I preferred were things like my local park or the area outside of the UA dorms. But I couldn't deny, this was nice, and I would've enjoyed getting to go through this area on my own time...if we were actually granted such a thing..."

"STUDENTS!" came a roar from Armed Guard as he suddenly loomed over them, "There is no TIME for daydreaming at this camp! The reason we came here early is so that we could start with our training IMMEDIATELY! And that's what we're going to do with day one, the Quirk strength tests!"

"Didn't we already do that though with the final exams?" questioned Sanda. "I mean, sure, they were a rigid structure and they weren't the most stressful things ever but they were tailored to each of us and we had to prove that we could-"

"Sanda! overrode Angel Wings with a bit more kind of a tone. "It's true that your final exams did push you in certain ways. But, those were more about showing off your complete training up to this point, and not necessarily pushing yourselves beyond what you could do already."

"Precisely," added in Armed Guard, "now, some of you, like Anno Mako and Ueno Gematsu did push their Quirks forward, and was very impressive in doing so. But, the question becomes, can you do that regularly? Or was that just a reaction to your emotions in the test?"

He gazed at both of them, Anno was the first to shake his head, "I don't know if I can summon that form on command, not yet."

"And I had to really focus to get all those projectiles to stop at once," acknowledged Ueno after a brief pause with his head wobble.

"That's why we're doing these Quirk strength tests first," Angel Wings said as she reentered the conversation. "Some of them will be about sheer power output, others will be about using finesse in your abilities, or having faster reaction times. You might not realize it right now, but your Quirks have levels to them, all Quirks do in their own way. The more you push them, the more you can grow. So thus, today is about that. The rest of the week is...a surprise. It'll do a similar thing, but in a more creative way."

"But to get you prepared for that, we're doing the 'standard testing' for this kind of a camp. So grab your bags and get into your workout clothes, NOW!" Armed Guarded ordered.

Quickly, the class grabbed their stuff, and they were guided to the boys' and girls' lodges where they could change quickly and get to work.

And get to work they did. Because no sooner had they changed and returned to their teachers than they were guided to a massive training area. One that not only accounted for the number in their class, but their different abilities.

Armed Guard and Angel Wings quickly guided to their assigned areas and told them what they were going to be doing there for basically the rest of the day. Once they were given their instructions via tablets, they started their training immediately.

Tonen's test was one that he most certainly didn't expect. When Angel Wings talked about power output, he knew he would be in that group, and he was, but there was a twist.

He played a video on his tablet and it was Armed Guard who was talking to him, "Tonen Keitomo, your Quirk is truly powerful, and at the Sports Festival you handled yourself admirably right up until the end. But you, as well as others, know that if they wanted to beat you, all they would have to do is outlast you long enough to ensure you had no more air pressure to throw at them."

"He's not wrong..." Tonen said with a small chuckle.

"HENCE, your test is thus, before you is an air chamber. One you can unleash your air pressure into at will without worry of damaging others or your surroundings. Your test will be one of not just how much you can pour out, but how quickly you can take it back in."

"I can do that?"

"Based on the accounts you gave us, your body naturally absorbs the air around you in a way that builds up your pressure over time. Your test for TODAY is to try and speed that up. It won't be easy, but even a small increase is worth the effort. Plus, it'll give you a goal to work towards in the future. Now, enter the chamber, observe the screen in it as you unleash pressure to see how much you pour out, then...try and take it back in."

The video shut off and Tonen went inside the chamber. It reminded him of the indoor skydiving rooms that some places offered. It was large enough to move around, and had vents that could, he guessed, take in his air pressure without breaking anything.

Tonen seemed content with this and mentally prepared himself. After a calming breath or two, he roared and let out a blast of air in all directions. When he was done, a screen lit up in front of him and revealed the actual air pressure he exuded in that blast.

"Wow, that much huh? That wasn't even my best blast... Probably is a bit elevated because of the contained space, but I'll take it."

To see if he could push beyond that without going overboard, he did another roar, a louder one, and pushed the air all around him once more. When done, the number was indeed higher, but not as much as he would've guessed.

"Ok, do need to work on power output. But let's focus on the other side of this coin, intake..."

It was here that Tonen struggled to know where to start. It was true that he had a special connection with the air inside of him, and he could tell what "level" it was at before he did an attack or battle, but he honestly had never tried to "bring in the air" as it always happened naturally over time. He even found that him sleeping brought in more air to his body, but he didn't exactly know why.

He sensed where his level of air was within him, and then focused on trying to raise it. At first, he did nothing but focus, to see if just the act of being still would help him intake more. But nothing really happened.

Then, he did a set of breathing exercises, like the ones he would do to keep himself calm or ready himself for a fight. While he could feel the air move within him, mainly through his lungs as that's what breathing does, he still felt his power level was about the same as before.

Frustrated, he exhaled sharply and let out a short burst of air, which prompted a very small number on the screen.

"No one asked you!" retorted Tonen.

But in that moment of frustration, he got an idea. He had manipulated his air pressure in unique ways in the past. Such as with his thick air wall, or even creating a small vortex during the fire with Sparky to suck the oxygen out of the room and into his vortex of air.

"So what if I did that...but sucked the air...into me?"

Not sure how this would work, or even feel, Tonen sat down on the chamber floor and once again did breathing routines. Then, he exhaled, but instead of sending the pressure out, he sent it inward, or at least tried to.

The feeling was a bit surreal at first, as he felt the pressure rattling his insides in a way that wasn't pleasant.

"Not the desired effect..."

He then focused on it not so much being about moving the air around within him, but stockpiling it. Bringing the air in so that it could grow.

For well over an hour, he did variations of his "inhale technique", trying to find one that would not just work, but would work when he needed it to, such as in the field. Each failed attempt frustrated him, and he occasionally would let out a blast in order to vent.

Tonen kept pushing though, and in one attempt, he focused his energy on making the very skin on his body absorb the air faster than it did before. It was there that he felt something.

"Did that...work?" he asked himself, quite unsure of what he did.

He focused back on the attempt, and tried to replicate what he did. As he did so, he could feel his air pressure rise within him. It was small. But it was a notable difference from the "natural flow" that he usually did.

The next few hours he spent refining it so that he could try and get more from it. The progress was very small, but it was there, and that was the point.

Not unlike Tonen, the others were working hard on their own challenges.

For Chuya, she was working on her endurance in her water form. Between the various exercises as a class and the Sports Festival, as well as her "heated" final exam, everyone knew that if they damaged Chuya's water form enough, she'd have to revert to her human one.

As such, Chuya's test was to take damage from a machine, and measure how many hits at a consistent level would force her to revert. Then, she'd get a small break, and have to do all she could to "enhance" her defense and endurance so that she could take more damage. Despite all the hits that she took during the trial, she never complained, but kept going, as that's what a soldier would do.

Goya on the other hand had to do with resistance training on a different plane of combat. His psychic powers were incredible, and could grab objects both big and small and control them with ease. But, there were ways to get around that as Kanagita, Tonen and his final exam opponent showed.

So for him, he had to keep a growing orb contained. A simple endeavor at first, but the larger it got, and the more force it exerted, the more pressure on Goya to keep his psychic field up. Every time his barrier got shattered, the test restarted. And as his very loud complaining noted...that happened quite a bit.

When Ebirima found out her test, she found it a bit hard to wrap her head around. She was asked to test out new ways to enact her bubble gum strands, She knew that her bubble gum web was very useful, and that her strands could let her traverse a city if she wanted, but as for what else she could do with them outside of basic things...she had no clue, hence the test. She had to go and do various tasks with her strands that her known abilities wouldn't complete. As such, she had to get very creative.

Anno's test was honestly a bit more basic. As he found himself doing various kinds of strength tests to push his outer limits, as well as do his best to invoke his "Super Shark" form that he got in the final exam. He knew that focus and drive was what got him that the first time, but it wasn't something he was able to do on call...yet. So he pushed hard to try and get it to happen, and then when it did happen, not go away until he wanted it to.

In regards to Azujima, he arguably had one of the hardest tests of the lot, because he was asked by Angel Wings to endure sensory overload in order to better manage his senses.

"I know it's hard for you, Azujima, but it is necessary," Angel Wings said with a very kind tone in her video instructions to him. "You need to think of it this way. Someone is going to do something to your helmet that could break it and your 'perfect seal' on your senses. It's fine that you use it, but if you're not able to at least get some control when that safety blanket is gone? It'll put you at risk."

Though very hesitant, Azujima did the test, and found himself, not unlike Tonen, in a locked room. One that overloaded his senses constantly, and asked him to endure. He was given a button to shut it all down, and the test very much to see how long he could reasonably last before shutting it off.

Eri's test meanwhile was one of many that were about reactions and finesse, the latter of which she was already very good at. In her case, she was tasked with fighting multiple foes at once and doing her best to keep aware of all that was around her.

This alone would've been a challenge, but the robot sparring partners she had were also ones who could adapt to her moves over time, requiring her to think fast to defeat foes and not get caught in repetitive tactics. Something that almost cost her the passing grade on her final exam.

Though he didn't know it, Sanda's test was not unlike Ebririma, as he was tasked with pushing himself in terms of not just how he used his earth, but how much of it he could use. Typically, Sanda always held back a bit because he knew that too much earth-moving could cause a lot of problems for a lot of people. He only went all out at the Sports Festival because he knew that the terrain would allow it.

He was given a wide berth at the camp to have fun and just let loose, which he honestly admitted to himself would be a great feeling.

Ryu and Ryo were split up for the purpose of their training, but they were close enough to one another to see what they were doing.

For Ryu, his mech body had gotten improvements thanks to Cybernetic, but due to the final exam not being perfectly tailored to him due to the unknown upgrade, his test was to see how well he could use these new weapons, all WITHOUT sacrificing his mech armor.

For Ryo, she was told there was technology hidden all over a certain area, but the signal from them would be almost impossible to detect, even with her Quirk. Since she didn't have her drone army with her, she had to focus harder than she ever had before to detect them, and she wasn't allowed to go and search for them, so it was very much about improving her range, which could come in handy in the field.

As Wasuke endured his test, he found out the hard way that his was a dual-threat as well. His test wasn't just about keeping his shield strong, it was about reacting to oncoming threats and increasing, or decreasing, his shield size so that he could block the blasts that were coming this way. Again, an easy thing in theory, but in practice? It was difficult, and Wasuke got hit many times as a result.

Iha's test was a little...one-sided. As her Quirk was about enhancing, or negating, someone elses Quirk. As powering up someone wasn't something to easily test, the teachers felt it best to focus on her dampening field. A couple of attendants at the camp served as her "test subjects". They had minor Quirks, and Iha's job was to power down more than one of them at a time, a key restriction she had in the past. Also, her dampening field had a range, and she worked to enhance that as well.

"Lame," she said to herself when it wasn't an easy thing to do.

While Iha's test was one-sided, Doza's was multi-layered. His resonance Quirk was powerful, but he had to be careful how he used it. Yet, he also needed to be able to use it with enough force to get the job done. As such, a set of machines repeatedly made objects for him to either completely break apart, or, break apart in parts and sections in order to succeed.

What's more, he was timed on this, forcing him to know just how much to do in a short period of time. If he failed to go faster, the test started over.

Hana was taken to almost a field area, but instead of rows of crops, she was given rows of terrain. Metal, rock, fire, water, grass, and so on. Armed Guard noted in his instruction video that her forms each had benefits and weaknesses. So the task was to do various things in the various forms to help her overcome the weaknesses in case something happened in the field where her "alternate forms" were not enough.

Such as if in her fire form there was a water obstacle she needed to get through without losing her form. This was a mind challenge, not unlike her Final Exam, but it was useful as it gave her a gauge on just how good her forms were. Something she only slightly got to test in the past.

Kuroda was also one who got a "mind challenge", but also a reaction one. In her case, she wasn't necessarily powering up her abilities, as she could do large-scale transformations with ease. Like turning the giant robot to feathers in the Sports Festival. Here though, it was more about making sure she had the right material for the job.

A computer asked her various questions about situations and she had to answer them with not just what material she would use, but why. Forcing her to think outside the box and ensure she knew as many materials and their compositions as possible to succeed. She also was given a blindfold and told to determine what materials she was touching by touch alone, a key thing her Quirk needed to activate was the knowledge of the material she was touching. She always had her eyes before, so going just by touch was rough.

Kanagita was another who had a pure strength test. Her upper limits had never truly been measured. So she was put onto a machine that would constantly push against her, and she had to repeatedly, as well as consistency, push back. Within her mind, Kanagita did her best to encourage her other self so that neither of them gave up.

Osibhu, not surprisingly, had his test all about speed and reaction time. That alone wouldn't have been a challenge for him, but his test was setup to where he had to not just go somewhere, but react and do commands presented to him by a computer. Plus, the commands were quick, so he had to use his blitzing speed to read, react, and get to the next point in the test area.

At times, he wouldn't get the answer right, and the whole thing would start over. Other times, he would guess what they were asking before he finished...and he had to start over. He grimaced as he heard his sister in his head saying to not rush so much and do what was asked.

Ueno's training followed-up on what was done with the final exams. Mainly he had to block all sorts of projectiles at once. Unlike before though, the teachers allowed him to work his way up, that way he wasn't getting pelted all the time. He still got hit, and his head wobbled like never before as a result, but he kept going, and slowly got the hang of redirecting projectiles that he couldn't see at first.

The thing Ikaim had to do was use his ink in more forceful, and accurate, ways. Not unlike Tonen's Quirk, pressure was key to ensure that he didn't just squirt his ink. He was good at this in some ways, but not others. Thus, the test pushed him to truly master control of his ink and have more abilities in the field.

Finally, Fenella was put in a test that forced her to not just use all her runes at once, but have perfect control over them. She'd summon them, then put them to task to do a variety of things. Whether it was simply moving them around, or putting them in attacks or defensive stances, to actually blocking items, or holding up things.

The strain was immense on her, but she let her fiery spirit fuel her so that she didn't give up without a fight.

At the beginning, Class 1-B thought that they would train for just a few hours, stop, and then do something else, but they were very wrong.

In fact, though they got their at around 8AM, they didn't stop their training until the evening. They weren't even given lunch to help replenish themselves, only being provided water and certain non-caffeinated energy drinks to help them get through it. They could take small breaks at times, but none longer than five minutes. And despite their wishes, they couldn't talk to one another.

This first day was very much about pushing their limits, and by the end of that day, they knew just how long this week was going to be, and how tired they were going to get.

Eventually, the teachers told them to stop, and pretty much everyone collapsed in place when they did. With some effort, they made it to the dining hall so that they could finally eat.

Ironically, at first, none of them talked to one another. They were too busy eating and trying to get something in their systems, as they felt that they had lost a lot in those heavy hours of training.

Eventually, once their appetites were somewhat satisfied, they talked with one another and relayed the tests that they were doing. Each were amazed at the detail and creativity that many of them had, as well as lamented how much it drained them. Even ones that weren't as physical, like Iha's or Ebirima's, were shown to have been exhausting to them due to how much they had to push themselves in other ways.

"And we have six more days of this," whined Ikaim, which was met with a familiar collective groan from the rest.

"Was that a WHINE?!" came a familiar shout.

They turned to see Angel Wings and Armed Guard approach them, there was also someone behind them, but they couldn't quite see who.

"If you are already so TIRED, you should all just QUIT and go back to UA!"

Angel Wings patted him on the shoulder to get him to stop, "Come on, they had a hard day, we've never pushed them this far, let them be tired."

"...fine. But know this, this is only part of your training for this week. So you better not try and limp through this, we'll know."

"What he means to say...is we're now ready to unveil the other thing you'll be doing this week. And if you don't mind me saying, I think this part is really fun. But don't take it from me, allow us to introduce you to our special guest teacher for the next six days."

The person behind them stepped before the class, and he couldn't have looked more different from the two teachers if he tried. Because he was basically dressed like a P.E. teacher mixed with a sports coach, complete with glasses and clipboard.

"Hello everyone!" said the man with a very energetic voice, "As Ms. Angel Wings said, I'm your guest teacher, but you can call me by my other name, The Trainer!"

He struck a pose, and the class really didn't know what to make of him.

"Sone Eizo. Support Hero. Quirk: Training Regimen. Go with me on this, ok? You know how people have to try and come up with ways to train their bodies? Well, this guy can do that in no time flat. Even with Quirk users! All he needs to know is what they can do, and their current weaknesses or limits, then he can come up with a perfect training regimen to get them to the next levels of their power. As you saw with our tests earlier...he's very good at what he does."

"So...we're just getting a personal trainer?" asked Oshibu, who wasn't exactly impressed by their special guest.

"Hey, you watch it, young man. You're not just talking to some random dude. I've trained more Pro-Heroes than you might think, or expect. They come to me if they feel they're slacking or need to learn something new. Plus, I'm the guy who's been training the last 10 years of UA students and students from other schools! By the time I'm done with you all, you'll be grateful you trained under me."

While some were impressed by his pedigree of clients...others...not so much.

Angel Wings saw this and stepped forward to interject, "All those contraptions and tests you did earlier? Those were based on his designs, with a little help from The Tinker."

"Great guy, never a challenge he won't take," mused The Trainer.

"Right, and he knows how to get heroes to do things they couldn't before, which is part of the reason you're here in this camp. Trust me, he'll get you to where you need to be."

"Enough self-praising," grunted Armed Guard, "get on with the next part of the test."

The Trainer cleared his throat and gazed as his clipboard, "Your days are going to be split into three parts. The mornings, from 8AM to noon will be what you just did. Four hard hours of solo self-improvement. We'll be adding new levels to it over the week so be ready for that."

"And the rest of the day?" Eri dared to ask.

"I'm glad you asked, Ms. Eri. From 12:30PM-8PM, you'll be doing team exercises. Very extreme team exercises."

"Extreme?" said Azujima aloud

"Very much so. You've worked together in the past as I'm told, but those exercises were more about being a team that could win on their own versus working together toward a common goal. This will be the later. There will be four teams of five, each of you will have a leader, and those leaders have to guide you, and get you to work together so you can complete the goal. There will be some tasks more individually minded, but overall, it will be a team exercise."

Goya spun his spheres as he pondered this, "And WHO are these leaders?"

"To prevent cheating, or pre-planning, you won't find out until tomorrow," The Trainer replied. "To be clear, the teams have already been assigned. So there won't be any captain's picking favorites."

"Sorry Goya, you won't be on my team then," joked Tonen, much to the joy of all but Goya.

"Anyway...we'll be doing those exercises throughout the week, and the team that gets the best score overall will get a special prize."

This got everyone intrigued, because now they had an actual tangible reward to work toward.

"After the exercises will be a short evaluation, and then you'll have dinner, and rest until 10PM, where you will go straight to bed. The next day? We start all over again."

"As you can tell," started Angel Wings with a small smile, "this is not going to be easy, it will in fact be grueling, but it's worth it in the end."

"You hopefully saw the benefits of your solo training earlier, the team training will push you in similar and yet more expansive ways," added in Armed Guard. "Plus, Pro-Heroes need to know they can trust who they work with, and actually listen to orders when a commander is assigned. So DON'T get so full of yourselves that you bring your whole team down, that'll affect your team's score and not just your own."

"So what is there left to say?" posed The Trainer with a pushing up of his glasses, "Just one thing...welcome to camp."
