The Cosmic Staff.

After receiving the Cosmic Staff, Sylvester Pemberton retired his teenage alias of the Star-Spangled Kid and reinvented his alter-ego as Starman. He became trained and fully equipped with the Staff, as it had deemed him honorable and courageous enough to allow him to wield it. He used it to become a member of the Justice Society of America and used it to help Captain America, Hourman, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, and the other JSA members.

The day that the war ended, the JSA went on one final mission to save the free world. They took down the Injustice Society of America and managed to save the world. But it was as stated, the last mission most of them would go on as it would claim most of their lives.

When Starman died, the Cosmic Staff was passed down to the family friend, the Dugan family. They were the only thing that Sylvester had in the way of the family as most of his real family lost their lives to the war, and the Staff only worked for a select few. The family would pass down the Staff until one day that someone came along who was worthy. Someone who had the ability to be strong-hearted, courageous, and strong.

It sat alone for years.

The current owner of the Cosmic Staff was a man named Pat Dugan.

Pat Dugan is a gifted mechanic with a penchant for helping others.

Pat's father was a mechanic in the army who worked on tanks and his father was his partner of Starman. His work required their family to move around a lot, especially when Pat was a teenager. Every year or two they had to pack up and move to a new place. The constant moving never allowed Pat to form lasting friendships, so he grew close to his father and regarded him as his best friend.

At some point, Pat followed in his father's footsteps and joined the army. That's where he was informed of the old relic of the Cosmic Staff that they have been entrusted with.

Two years ago, Pat's job brought him to Blue Valley, Nebraska. During this visit to Blue Valley, Pat met Barbara Whitmore at Richie's Diner while they were both visiting Blue Valley. They had an instant connection and were married a few years later. After accepting a job in Blue Valley, Barbara, Pat, his daughter Patricia, and stepdaughter Courtney, moved from California to Blue Valley.

That's where this journey starts.

Courtney Whitmore had to sacrifice everything so that she and her mother could move out to Blue Valley with her new stepfather. That was something that she already wasn't going to be happy about, and the move to a new environment didn't exactly help her. When they pulled up to the new house, the family got a look at the biggest house that any of them have lived in for a while.

Patricia was the first to react when she looked up at the house. "This is our new house? This is a mansion!"

Compared to the small apartments that the kids have gotten used to living in, it was a mansion. "Yep, this is our new home."

Then they heard a thump and saw that the movers were struggling to carry a crate. That crate was currently carrying the Cosmic Staff, which has been inactive ever since the death of Starman in World War Two. But it became such an important family relic, he started to become a little protective of it. It was a powerful weapon if it was ever activated again.

"Hey, sorry, that's just... that's really delicate, yeah, thank you," Pat said in concern about the Staff. But then he decided to be safe rather than sorry, not knowing how indestructible the Staff was. "You know what, let me just take that one. I got it." He walked up to them and grabbed the crate. "Yeah, it's fine."

"Why don't you go check out your new room, Court?" Barbra asks her daughter.

Courtney wasn't so into the idea but decided that she might as well try and work with it. Making her way upstairs to the bedroom, she started to unbox all of her old athletic trophies and gear she kept hold of over the years.

Whilst she was doing that, Pat brought the crate down to her basement where he kept a whole lot of old army stuff related to the JSA. Most of it involved case files on both the Masters of Evil and the Justice Society of America. All of them were classified over the years, but were later declassified and were just passed down over the family. Most of the members were already dead and didn't pose a threat to anyone anymore anyway.

And then there was the next part of trying to get used to a new environment with it starting as a new school district. Pat drove Courtney to the school as Patricia was able to take the bus and Barbra had to get to work.

"Have a super great day!" Pat tells Courtney as they pulled up.

Courtney didn't respond as she climbed out of the old car and looked at the new school. She knew that this definitely wasn't going to be easy and just needed to try and make the best of it. But the hits kept, on coming when she went to get her ID and was informed there was no gymnastics team.

"But it was on your website. Blue Valley High has a gymnastics team." Courtney stated.

"We did. Last year." The teacher explains to Courtney as they walked around. "But the academic and athletics program have been recalibrated for optimal participation by the students and the faculty."

"I don't know what any of that means," Courtney stated as she sat down for her photo.

"There are plenty of other after-school activities you can still look into." The teacher said as she quickly started to prepare the picture. "How about cheerleading? That's basically gymnastics. Plus boys love cheerleaders."

Courtney definitely wasn't interested in that idea just as the camera went off, capturing her face of confusion. And to say that the rest of the day went any better would have been a complete lie. There wasn't much going on in the way of meeting new people, as it was like everyone was purposely avoiding and keeping their distance from her. When it came to lunch and trying to find a place to eat, all she ended up doing was eating alone.

When she reached back home, she went back to cleaning out her boxes and collecting everything. Patricia was already having a good time on her first day at school as she talked it over with the adults. Courtney went down into the basement to cool down a little and looked at a box of Pat's.

Looking at his stuff, she became annoyed and kicked it in anger. But when it slid over and she heard something shatter, she sighed and knew that it was a mistake and quickly opened it to see what broke. But then she saw it wasn't anything important and it was just some stupid photo of him fishing.

"So lame." Courtney scoffed when she looked over the photo. But then she noticed that there was actually another photo hiding underneath it. When she removed the newer photo, she found a much older photo that was in black and white, showing all of the members of the Justice Society of America. "What the heck?"

She saw all of the members of the JSA on a battlefield that looked like it was after a successful mission. Wonder Woman was standing front and center. Captain America by her right side with his shield dirty up from the battle. Behind them were Starman, James Howlett, Hourman, Red Tornado, Ant-Man, Amaya, and Black Panther. Above all of them were Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern floating around the destroyed city they were in.

When she opened another one of the boxes, she found some old prototypes for Starman's suits and personal stuff that belonged to Sylvester. Even a few notes and messages between him and the other members of the JSA over the years.

But then as she was looking over the artifacts, there was a strange sudden glow starting to go off around her. She quickly turned around and saw that it was emulating from the crate that Pat was concerned about. She walked over as the crate stopped glowing after she took a few steps toward it. But that wasn't stopping her now as she opened up the crate and saw the Cosmic Staff inside.

When she went to pick it up, the Staff began to glow, causing Courtney to quickly stop and let it go. But then the glowing also stopped, causing her to go for it a second time. When she touched it, she learned that the glowing wasn't some form of heat but light. She then picked it up and moved it around, watching as the light started to move around from the center of the Staff to around it. It went from the end of the stick up to the tip of it and just kept going around.

Courtney then let it go and watched as it stayed there in the middle of the room without anyone touching it. This wasn't like anything that she has ever seen before in her life.

"No way," Courtney stated in shock. "This is..."

She didn't know what to really say as she waved her hand underneath it. At first, she was looking to see if she could find anything that was keeping it up. But then she watched as the light started to follow her hand like it knew she was there.

"Whoa," Courtney said as she reached up, taking the staff back in her hands. "What are you?"

And that's when suddenly the Cosmic Staff started to drag her through the house. Courtney wasn't sure where it was going but knew that she couldn't just allow it to just get away. She heard the rest of the family talking to one another as she managed to sneak out without anyone noticing.

The Cosmic Staff dragged Courtney out of the house and into the middle of town, where there was a small park and a clearing. When they arrived there, Courtney was able to get the Staff under control a little bit.

"Hold still." Court he tells the staff.

But the Staff wrestled its way out of her hands and flew into the air. It was landing in the middle of the open air, becoming stiff like it was embedded into the air.

Courtney had to admit she was a little intrigued by this sudden development and quickly tried something out. She raced up and leaped up to the staff, reaching up with both hands and doing some gymnastics. When she leaped onto the ground, the team let go of the air and followed with her.

Courtney started to have a blast with this thing and threw it into the air, making it stand right way up this time around. She raced up and leaped onto the side of the staff as it raised itself and she kept herself on it. She let out a cheer as the Staff spun her around and she leaped off. Taking the staff down with her and spinning it around.

"Are you alive?" Courtney asked the Staff.

"You could say that." A voice said, causing Courtney to look over and see that Red Tornado was there. She jumped back a little at the appearance of the robot, recognizing him from the photos. "The Cosmic Staff." He started to make a few small steps to not scare off the kid. "It's been a long time since I saw that thing glow."

"You know what this is?" Courtney asks as she was a little concerned about the Android.

"It's called the Cosmic Staff." Red Tornado explains as he looked over at the girl. "It's never worked for anyone since the death of Starman."

"It's Starman's weapon?" Courtney was surprised to see this was the real thing.

"And if it works for you...then there is something special about you, Courtney Whitmore." Red Tornado tells her, shocking Courtney that he knew he name. "And you have a bright future ahead."

Just when they thought it was over.

Peter had just returned from his trip jumping across other BRANCHES of the timeline and helping stop Morlun. But then when he came back, he and the rest of his family was met with a new face to appear in the Laboratories.

He said that his name was Dr. Fate and that he wanted to discuss with them their destinies. Well, he technically said that it was here to discuss their fate, but it was the same difference to them.

Kent was walking around the labs as his suit morphed into what looked to be some professor outfit. He placed the helmet under his arm and looked around the room.

"This is a nice base of operations." Kent complimented as he placed the helmet down on the table. "Glad to see this place is being useful for something after what happened."

"Wait, sorry, backup, who are you?" MJ questioned in confusion. "Who is...Dr. Fate?"

"Never heard of him," Peter admitted. "And I've visited six different dimensions."

"I am Dr. Fate." Kent tried his best to explain it to them. "Sorcerer. Agent of the Lords of Order. Defender against darkness and chaos."

"Well, where the hell was you when that singularity opened up and almost killed us all?" Barry had to ask the Sorcerer.

"Observing," Kent confessed as he kept strolling around the room. "Your origins we're left unfinished. If I were to have intervened, then chaos would have ensured." He defended why he didn't help stop Reverse Flash. "But after the singularity was closed, I couldn't see any of your fates."

"You keep saying that, what does that mean?" Cisco questions the agent of the Lord of Orders.

"One of my abilities is to see into all of the futures at once," Kent explains to him what he means. "But all of your fates...they're clouded. It's never happened to me before."

"All of the futures?" MJ wanted clarification.

"Every decision you could possibly make, I should usually be able to see the outcome of it," Kent explains what it means to them. "But every future that involves everyone in this room...it's clouded by outside forces."

"Is...That a good thing or a bad thing?" Stein wonders.

"It could go either way," Kent explains to them and looked to Bobby, who was about to touch his helmet. "I...I wouldn't do that."

"Why?" Bobby wonders.

"You'll become possessed by the Lord of Order, Nabu," Kent explains to him. "That thing literally possesses the person who wears it."

Bobby immediately backed away and raised his hands. "You should maybe put a note on that or something."

"So, are you going to be watching us or something?" MJ asks him.

Kent shrugged as he picked his helmet up. "No. I just thought I should warn you. I'll keep keeping a close eye on this group. I won't interfere with what happens. I don't think I even could if I wanted to." He then placed the helmet on and the outfit formed back on around it. "I will enjoy seeing how this turns out."

And with that, the man vanished through the same means that he showed up. Using the same sort of ankh portal he came in through, he vanished and returned to wherever he came from.

"Well, that was a bit strange," Peter commented.

"You get used to it." A voice from the doorway said. Everyone jumped as they scrambled to notice that in the doorway was Diana Prince, Wonder Woman. "You guys need to boost up security around here."

All of them looked over to Cisco as they were all thinking the same thing. "I'm working on it!"

"What can we do for you, Ms. Prince?" Barry asks as he walked around.

"Actually. I'm here to talk to Dr. Snow." Diana said as she gestured to the said doctor. "I need your help with a...personal problem."

"Personal?" Caitlin was surprised to hear.

"Me and my friends, we found an old friend with amnesia. We saw you have experience treating patients with it, as well as experience with metahumans." Diana explains why she was there. "We thought you could help us."

Caitlin was surprised to see that Wonder Woman was here asking for her help. "Uh..."
