The commercial that he'd seen, the one that he would have been pretty sure that Rachel was involved with even if he hadn't seen the elephant stomping over the used car lot, was still on his mind as Tommy flew towards Rachel's house. He wondered why Jake had decided to meet there, since the barn that Cassie's parents owned was where they usually tended to meet. Still, maybe Cassie's parents were busy there.
There could easily be extenuating circumstances, and in the end that kind of thing wasn't really important.
When he finally made it to Rachel's house, Tommy greeted Tobias and Rachel as the pair of them made their own way inside.
I predict Marco's first words will be "Are you insane?!"
That sounds about right, he said, a feeling of morbid amusement settling over him as he and Tobias flew in through Rachel's open window.
Sure enough, Marco was about as unhappy with Rachel and Tobias as Tommy had been expecting, and the first words out of his mouth were indeed the ones that Tobias had predicted. In the end, however, it seemed like they had all just been gathered together to discuss how annoyed Jake and Marco were about what Rachel and Tobias had done. It wasn't very productive, sure, but Tommy could at least be glad that nothing too bad seemed to be going on.
Nothing that seemed to involve the Yeerks, anyway.
