Once they'd all decided on their next course of action – to find a way to help the Andalite who seemed to be trapped under the ocean somehow, somewhere – Tommy ended up having to stay away from the others for a few days; it'd been Marco's insistence that all of them strive to maintain at least a semblance of the lives and activities they'd been a part of, before they'd met Elfangor and been drafted into their current battle against the Yeerks. And, considering how few actual friends he'd had, before all of this, martial arts had been something to keep his mind off of those kinds of things.

It still helped to clear his mind, at least.

When he was finally able to meet up with the other Animorphs again, all of them had gathered together at The Gardens to acquire the next morph that they were going to need. Blending in with the crowd around the dolphin tank – the others had decided that this was the best possible morph for getting where they needed to go, and since Tommy didn't have any better ideas, he wasn't going to say anything; Cassie seemed a bit uneasy about the whole thing, though – as well as he could, since it wasn't like he could hide, being as tall as he was, Tommy glanced casually at Rachel. The pair of them were nearly the same height, so it seemed only natural that the pair of them would notice each other.

As he and the rest of the Animorphs all acquired their respective dolphin morphs, Tommy made sure to keep an eye on Cassie; she really didn't seem to be in favor of this.

It was strange, the kind of things that Cassie was thinking about – how she was worried that they might be acting more like the Yeerks, considering how intelligent dolphins seemed to be – but that was just the kind of person she was. Once Tommy had managed to acquire his own dolphin morph, he made his own way out. Tobias kept him up on what was going on with the others, of course, so that was nice.

At least he had some idea what was going on with the rest of them, so that was a bit of a comfort.
