Once their time to infiltrate the leadership meeting of The Sharing had come, Tommy found himself once again in the cat morph that he used when there was a better than average chance of him being spotted. It was kind of annoying, that he couldn't let anyone know that he and the rest of the Animorphs were friends, since it would've made it too easy for the Yeerks to track them down and find them all. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if there was a way to get around that.

(This sucks,) Tobias grumbled, reminding Tommy that he wasn't the only one with problems. (I'm half-blind at night, especially without moonlight. I should have gotten myself stuck in an owl body; owls are so cool. Aside from the fact that some of them try to kill and eat falcons.)

Ax, who was in his human morph – in contrast to Tommy, which he found kind of funny, really – still didn't seem to have gotten the hang of being in his human morph. Honestly, Tommy sometimes found himself wondering how the Andalite would react to seeing him in one of his martial arts competitions. He didn't know if he'd ever have the chance to invite him, of course, considering the Animorphs' present circumstances.

Of course, that kind of thing was hardly important right now; not compared to what they were all here to do, anyway.

"That's the place," Jake said, and Tommy looked down the street to see the building they were all aiming for.

It, like the rest of the neighborhood they'd come to, was a small, fairly nondescript building. Really, the only thing that drew attention to it was the large, tough-looking man standing outside the front door, that and the sign over the door he was standing in front of: The Sharing. Building a Better Life.

"Yeah, right. A better life for slugs from outer space," Marco sneered, clearly having caught sight of the same sign that had drawn Tommy's attention. "You notice that guy standing by the door? He looks like he's ready for trouble."

(Let's try not to look like trouble,) he suggested.

"Okay, we cut down this alley," Jake said, once all of them were out of sight of the man guarding the door to The Sharing's meeting hall. "That building down there is abandoned, the basement is empty and unlocked. That's where we morph. Or demorph," Jake continued, glancing down at him.

Once they'd all made it into the basement of the building they were going to be using, Tommy noticed that it looked like it'd once been some kind of a restaurant. The scattered debris of tables, chairs, and the kind of trash that came from the running of any place that people could go to have food told the story of what this place had once been.

"Wonderful," Rachel muttered, not sounding particularly happy. "This whole Animorph lifestyle is so glamorous."

When Cassie let him down from her arms, Tommy demorphed as quickly as he could.
