Once the six of them had managed to make it into the meeting room where the Yeerk-infested higher ups of The Sharing were all gathered together, Marco was naturally the first one to speak:

(What is this, a Yeerk pep rally?)

There was a tense, subdued sort of giggle from all of the Animorphs, Tommy included, before Jake instructed them all to move deeper into the room. As they all positioned themselves around the small room, Tommy tried to keep what they were all doing in mind even in spite of the sheer strangeness of the morph he was currently in. He'd never been a bug before; really, none of them had, and even the discipline that he'd learned during his time training in the martial arts couldn't quite keep him from noticing that strangeness.

(Hey, guys? Can you hear me? It's Tobias?)

(Yeah,) he said, wondering for a moment just where Tobias actually was. (You're quieter than normal, but I can hear you.)

Once the rest of the Animorphs had let Tobias know that they could hear him, too, Tobias informed them that there were more cars – presumably full of Controllers – on their way to the meeting room. There seemed to be seven of them – six guards and whoever it was that they were guarding – and as they all stood around, waiting for whoever it was to show up, Tommy found himself more than a bit unsettled. He didn't know if it was just because he wasn't particularly enjoying the experience of being a cockroach, or if there really was something dangerous coming.

Something more dangerous than the fact that he and the rest of the Animorphs were surrounded by Human-Controllers, at least.

When the man with the six guards was revealed to be Visser Three, of course, Tommy wished for a moment that he could sigh; it looked like they really were in more danger than usual.

(Just what we were afraid of,) Jake said, during a lull in the Controllers' discussion.

(Yeah,) he said, feeling all the more unsettled by what he'd just heard. (Two-hundred new Controllers a month is not something we can handle.)

(No, I don't think it is,) Jake said, sounding about as unsettled as Tommy felt.
