Yanking Jake off of the ground as soon as he'd spotted the younger boy, Tommy crouched down so Marco could lift Jake up onto his back so they'd all be able to move out faster.
(Jake's hurt,) Cassie said. (He fell in the Yeerk pool.)
(I'll look after him,) Tommy said, as soon as Marco had settled Jake down on his back.
Rachel turned slightly to look back at all of them. (Marco, get something to cover Jake's face. I'm going to change morphs; we need more firepower.)
(I'll keep an eye out,) he said, as Marco grabbed one of the white coats from the unconscious doctors, wrapping it around Jake's head, shoulders, and arms.
Glancing back, as more human-Controllers tried to swarm into the room, only being held off by the long, sharp teeth of Cassie's wolf morph, Tommy quickly turned right back around as he heard Rachel's wild laugh. (Looks like I'm not gonna fit through this doorway, so I guess I'll just have to make the doorway bigger.)
As Rachel slammed her way through the doorway and the rest of them all piled out, finding themselves in yet another of the hallways within the Yeerk controlled hospital that they were all currently trying to escape. Knocking more than a few human-Controllers aside as they tried to pull Jake off of his back, following in Rachel's wake as the six of them all pelted out of the hospital, Tommy allowed himself to relax as they finally made it away from the hospital and all of the Controllers inside it.
Just a bit, though, since all of them were still going to have to keep moving; they may have been out of sight of the Controllers, but there was still the chance that they might be found if they didn't keep moving.
(Tommy, you still doing all right? You think you can keep moving?) Marco asked.
(Yeah, I'm good,) he said, nodding as he felt Jake starting to move slightly. (I think Jake might be starting to wake up, though.)
(That's good,) Marco said, nodding himself.
(We should keep moving; the Yeerks are probably still looking for us,) he said, knowing that it was true.
(Yeah, we should,) Marco said, though he sounded more than a little pleased.
Tommy had a feeling he knew why, but that kind of thing wasn't really important.
Jumping a fence in his way, Tommy crouched as he landed, moving quickly to keep up with the rest of his fellow Animorphs. Jake was starting to move around more, so it seemed like he was going to wake up soon. That was good, since they were all going to need to morph into birds to get away from this place.
Panting as Marco came over to remove Jake from his back, Tommy sat on his haunches and tried to catch his breath. Concentrating on his own demorphing, Tommy stood back up, then turned back to where the others – even Tobias, who had landed in a tree nearby – were leaning in to check on Jake.
"What's wrong?" he asked, making his way over to where the rest of his fellow Animorphs had all gathered.
