Since there wasn't much for him to do, aside from keep packing and wondering just why the Yeerks seemed interested in the Power Rangers now of all times, Tommy had left the rest of the Animorphs to go back to their school. He'd been excused, of course, since Chapman had probably been the one to order the Controllers playing the role of his foster parents to investigate Angel Grove in the first place.
Or, he was at the very least aware of their new assignment; Tommy wasn't sure, and he likewise wasn't sure which would have been worse.
He and the rest of the Animorphs had made arrangements to stay in contact through Tobias, of course, and it'd been agreed that the others would only contact him when they needed the extra firepower. None of them could risk his Controller foster parents finding out about his absences, of course. Still, knowing that he was going to be effectively out of the fight wasn't a good feeling, and there was still the question of just what was going on in Angel Grove.
Marco had told the rest of the Animorphs what he knew, which didn't really amount to much more than the Power Rangers existing, seemingly being based in Angel Grove, and what seemed like baseless speculation about where they came from or what they might have been doing in Angel Grove aside from protecting it.
Tommy didn't know if he believed any of it, but believing wouldn't change anything that was happening to any of them right now; best to just focus on packing for the moment.
