Struggle… trapped… somewhere between dreaming and waking… pulled steadily down, down, down… drowning in darkness… a voice echoing inside him… echoing commanding…!
"How can I serve my Empress?"
"As a Ranger, you can now access the Command Center. There, you'll disable Zordon, and then destroy the Power Rangers. Jason: the Red Ranger, Zack: the Black Ranger, Kimberly: the Pink Ranger, Billy: the Blue Ranger, and Trini: the Yellow Ranger. Now, prepare to receive the sixth Power Coin, and become my Green Ranger!"
It had all the force of a command, and Tommy found that this new kind of morphing was almost as familiar to him as the kind he'd used to defend his friends and the Earth from the Yeerks. Looking down at the small, golden coin in his right hand, Tommy found himself thinking about what Empress Rita had just told him. He couldn't believe he'd ever thought that any of the Power Rangers had been anything like his fellow Animorphs.
The Animorphs were trying to keep the Earth safe from the Yeerks; the Power Rangers were defying Empress Rita, the two groups were nothing alike.
When his Empress had teleported him to the Power Rangers' Command Center, Tommy was annoyed to find himself under the watchful eyes of Zordon, and particularly annoyed to have been outed by the robot he thought he'd already disabled.
"How is it possible that you are here?" Zordon asked, and Tommy was at least pleased to know something he didn't. "Only one who has a Power Coin may enter this fortress undetected."
"I have the Coin, and the Power," he snarled, moving deeper into the fortress where the first of the enemies that Empress Rita had sent him out to deal with. "And there's nothing you can do about it!"
"So, Rita has finally chosen someone to give it to."
"That's right, Zordon: I am her Green Ranger and she is my queen," he snapped, not particularly happy to have his resolve questioned by one of his enemies.
"Tommy, she has you under an evil spell," Zordon said. "Let me help you."
"You should worry about yourself, old man," he snapped, stepping forward and grabbing the edge of a nearby console and ripping it open.
Amid the rain of sparks, and the feel of the wires under his gloved hands as he tore them out, Tommy could hear Zordon's weakening protests. Eventually, they became cries for help, and then nothing as he tore out the last of the electronics and circuit boards in the last of the consoles. It was then that Tommy noticed he'd been laughing, feeling almost giddy as he'd torn the consoles inside the Power Rangers' Command Center apart. It was strange, but Tommy put the thought aside.
It probably wasn't anything important, anyway.
"It is done, my Empress. Zordon has been eliminated, and the Power Rangers are next!" he reported, slapping his left fist into his right palm for emphasis.
Empress Rita obligingly teleported him out of the Power Rangers' Command Center after that.
