Glancing up at the sky, Tommy found himself wondering if or when Tobias would come to make contact with him. The rest of his fellow Animorphs were still there in Century City, working to hold back the advance of the Yeerks and their Empire without him, and Tommy couldn't help but worry about how all of them were doing. Sure, they'd all been friends before he'd met up with them that night in the construction site, so that probably meant that they'd be able to handle things on their own for awhile.

Finding himself called back by Empress Rita again, this time for a test of his new prowess with the Sword of Darkness, Tommy felt the familiar rush of power as he became the Green Ranger again. The four remaining Power Rangers were quick to appear in front of him, and with the Sword of Darkness in his hands, Tommy was able to do a great deal more damage to them than he'd done the last time they had all clashed.

That might have also been because the Red Ranger was missing, given how he'd been so quick to leap in front of the other Power Rangers the first time they'd fought.

Still, finding himself driven off by their Megazord even without the Red Ranger present to pilot the Tyrannosaurus Zord was more annoying than Tommy could honestly account for. It wasn't as though he hadn't ever been forced to retreat from a battle before. Then again, that was when he and the Animorphs were fighting the Yeerk Empire.

The Yeerk Empire, with their overwhelming amounts of soldiers and Controllers and ships; he hadn't been forced to retreat in the face of people who were nearly on the same level of power as he was.

Grinding his teeth as he found himself teleported away again, Tommy forced himself to relax as he found himself back in his house for the day. Tommy sighed as he made his way back up to his room and all of the boxes he was still currently living out of. The sound of soft tapping at his window drew his attention, before he could start unpacking the next of the boxes in his room.

(Tommy. You mind opening your window?)

Stepping over to the window to open it and let Tobias perch on the sill, Tommy found himself feeling lighter and freer than he had in some time. Really, since the last time he'd seen the rest of his fellow Animorphs.

"What's been going on back in Century City?" he asked, quietly enough that no one but Tobias would have been able to hear him clearly. The story that Tobias told him in response was hardly one he'd been expecting – he'd have never thought that anyone could be allergic to an animal that was just DNA in their system, but apparently it was possible and it had unpredictable consequences – but hearing that all of his friends were safe and all right reassured him.

"I wish I could have been there to help," he said, once Tobias had finished telling him about everything that had been happening while he was away.

(It's all right, Tommy,) Tobias said, shifting slightly on the windowsill. (Marco would probably want me to ask you if you've seen the Power Rangers, considering where you are.)

He chuckled. "A few glimpses, but not much more than that," he said, knowing that the rest of his fellow Animorphs wouldn't understand what Empress Rita was truly trying to accomplish.

Tobias chuckled in response. (Marco's probably going to get a kick out of that, at least.)

"Yeah, he probably is," Tommy said, smiling softly before becoming serious again. "Let me know if you guys need my help, all right?"

(I will,) Tobias said, turning to launch himself out of the tree and into the sky again.

Pleased as he was that his friends were all right, as far as they were from him at the moment, Tommy made his way back over to the box he'd been about to start unpacking.
