Going back to his house, where the Yeerks that were playing the roles of his adopted parents were waiting for him was more than a little unsettling. Because, even after he'd destroyed the portable Kandrona generator that they had brought with them, they'd somehow managed to secure a backup generator. Still, it was something he had to deal with.
It also wasn't something that he felt comfortable talking to the other Power Rangers about, since they would probably overreact in a way that wouldn't have helped anyone.
Settling back into his normal routine, going back to school, Tommy found that the other Power Rangers were quick to gather around him, as though they were trying to welcome him into their group, as well. It was a nice thought, since his friends and fellow Animorphs were back in Century City. Back with the main force of the Yeerks infiltrating, back with the danger of Visser Three finding them out; back where Tommy sometimes felt that he should still be.
Still, as he played a pickup game of basketball with the other Power Rangers, Tommy tried to relax and let himself calm down; it was a lot like what he'd been doing when he'd been back in Century City with the rest of the Animorphs, really.
The attack by the group of Rita's Putties almost seemed relaxing, compared to nearly every one of the battles he'd been through with his fellow Animorphs. Not that it was simple, but there was no blood, no risk of death, and the risk of injuries to any of his fellow Power Rangers in the absence of claws, blades, sharp teeth or Dracon beams was a lot lower than any previous fight he'd been in with the Yeerks.
Once the fight was over, Tommy still found himself uneasy; there had be be some kind of reason for this latest attack, especially considering the way it had ended so quickly. It had to be either a distraction or the prelude to a worse attack. He told the other Rangers his suspicions, but he couldn't stay; there were still things he had to do.
