A Witch, A Wolf & A Vampire

A/N: This chapter pretty much summarises the entirety of the events of "Twilight" hence why it's about an 8K chapter. You will also notice that Bella and Edythe are more side characters/NPC's as this story focuses on the Iris x Rosalie x Leah dynamic.

Chapter 2: Baseball

"Yeah it was really weird Iris, I had biology with Edythe Cullen and she like spent all lesson trying to stay away from me," Bella ranted, it was after school and she was over at Iris' as Charlie was working late.

"Did you shower this morning?" Iris asked, the concern in her voice for her friend was disguised.

"Well no… but surely I didn't smell that bad! Like she had her hand over her mouth and nose the entire lesson and it was like she wasn't breathing!" Bella said, Iris made the gesture of taking in a deep breath and then holding her nose in jest while Bella rolled her eyes and shoved the smaller red-head.

"And the weird thing is, she's like super gorgeous and she smells like jasmine and honey. I swear it took like everything in me to not just… smell her, do I sound weird saying that?"

"Yes Bella, you sound super weird. Is this why Charlie said you needed friends?"

"Hey! I resent that!"

Teddy chose that moment to demand attention, their conversation dropped, Iris and Bella turned their attention to Teddy who was playing with his toy wolf she had given him. Bella sat down to play with Teddy as Iris began to make dinner for the night, smiling softly watching her new somewhat accident prone friend (she had seen her slip over a flat surface many times already). Her phone vibrating in her pocket, she answered automatically while continuing to cook.

"Potter residence, this is Iris."

"Hey Iris, it's Rosalie," the soft angelic voice said, Iris paused and shook her head, Rosalie sounded like a damned angel.

"Hey Rosalie, what's up?"

"Thanks for the notes today Iris, I was wondering if you wanted to catch up at lunch tomorrow to go over some ideas for the big project," Rosalie sounded nervous, Iris wondered what could make a vampire nervous around her before her attention quickly fell to the Elder Wand. Oh right, Mistress of Death.

"Sure thing Rosalie, do I just join you at your table, you join me at mine or do we just find our own place?"

"How about we just sit outside on one of the picnic tables?"

"Sounds good, I've got to finish dinner but I'll catch you at lunch for tomorrow," Iris said.

"It's a date," Rosalie said before hanging up, Iris paused for a few moments, a Date?!

Shaking her head out if her stupor, Iris turned her attention back to dinner and keeping an eye on Bella and Teddy. Bella currently had him on her shoulders and was walking around while holding his legs making flying noises while Teddy pretended to be a plane, making gurgling noises happily. She smiled and wished Tonks and Remus could watch this, but Bella doesn't know about magic or her world so she can't show them their son playing.

The next morning Iris answered the door to some knocking only to find Charlie on the other side, he looked a bit tired as if he hadn't slept at all.

"Charlie, what a pleasant surprise. Come in, can I get you a cup of coffee? Tea?" Iris welcomed the man.

"Oh uh… yeah coffee would be great. Thanks. Sorry for knocking so early but I wanted to check in and give you a warning," Charlie said, Iris raised an eyebrow as she put the coffee into the maker and with her body covering the pot she put a few drops of Pepper-up into it.

"Have I done something wrong?"

"Oh, no, nothing like that. There's been an animal attack of some kind in the area, I know you and Teddy are by yourselves so I wanted to let you know and ask for you to be careful. Here's my personal number as well, call me if you need me," Charlie said fishing out a business card from his wallet.

"Thanks for the warning Charlie, I'll be sure to keep my eye out for anything and call you if I need you," Iris said, handing him a thermos of coffee with Pepper-up added.

"No problems, spare key to our house is under the pot plant on the left. Just if you need it… damn this is some good coffee," Charlie said taking a sip, Iris smiled watching as his tiredness was fixed by the potion she added.

"Have a good day Charlie, I've got to drop Teddy off at day-care before going to school," Iris said.

"Of course, and thanks for the coffee," Charlie said.

"Take the entire thermos," Iris said handing him the bottle.

"You sure?"

"I'm a tea kind of girl," Iris smirked and he rolled his eyes.

"You British people and your tea," he grumbled and Iris just laughed.

As she dropped Teddy off at day-care and handed over his baby bag, she thought about the attacks Charlie had mentioned. Her thoughts immediately went to the Cullen's, vampires, but they had golden eyes and fed only on animals so they couldn't possibly be the culprits. The shifters themselves were protectors of their reservation so they're also out of the equation. Perhaps Iris would investigate tonight after she put Teddy down for the night.

Classes that morning weren't too bad, however in art she found herself working right next to Alice Cullen who smiled brightly at her, though she didn't say anything. Iris found herself somewhat excited as lunch approached and as she grabbed her tray of food and headed outside, she found Rosalie sitting at a picnic table with a car magazine in her hand and a stack of books next to her. Rosalie looked over and offered her a bright smile before putting down her mag and sitting straighter in her seat.

"Hey Iris," she greeted as Iris slid into the seat opposite her.

"Hello Rosalie." Iris couldn't help but let her eyes wonder, she had flings with other girls before, Ginny was an experiment as was Cho and she found she much preferred girls than guys like Cormac McLaggen who had tried to date her.

"Thank you for the notes, I have some ideas about what we could do," Rosalie said.

The remainder of lunch was spent with the two of them speaking about class and breaking down what field they were thinking of for their project. Both girls made points but ultimately Rosalie conceded to Iris' idea of creating something to help alleviate the pressure on minority communities.

The next few days they spent lunch together having small conversations, Iris noted Rosalie smile more than she had in the cafeteria and had to admit she appreciated that the vampire didn't ask any invasive questions. She was still on the fence about the girls intentions, vampires being amongst muggles at school, standing out with their sports cars and obvious beauty.

"Okay so Edythe returns from being… sick as she called it and now she's like talking to me and asking so many questions. It's like a complete 180 to what our first meeting was like," Bella said, once again she was sitting in Iris' living room playing with Teddy, this time it was with a train set Iris had gotten for Teddy.

"What kind of questions?"

"Just like, my interests, why I moved here. Stuff like that, and is it silly that I enjoy her attention and questions? Like, I didn't think I was a lesbian. But I experimented with this girl once at a party and liked it. But Edythe? Like I keep seeing myself marrying her," Bella admitted and Iris laughed.

"But enough about me, what's going on with you and Rosalie Hale?" Bella accused and Iris gave her a thoughtful look.

"We're partners for our mechanics class."

"Yeah but you have lunch with her all the time, she doesn't glare at you like she does everyone else, she smiles around you. And you smile a lot more around her! See you're doing it now!" Bella pointed, Iris was in fact smiling when thinking about Rosalie.

"She's… nice, different from what I'm used to. But I can't really make time for a relationship or anything, I have Teddy to consider after all," Iris sighed, Bella nodded in understanding and left it at that.

If there was one thing that supernatural's didn't expect about a Witch or a Wizard, it's that their minds are capable of processing and reacting to information just as quickly as any other supernatural species. It's why even vampires feared Witches and Wizards.

So when Tyler Crowley's van slid across the parking lot losing its control, Iris, who was standing next to Rosalie at the time moved before she realised, her wand flicking into her hand with the intent to save her friend. However, Edythe Cullen was quicker running over to Bella from her car spot and stopping the van with her arm while shielding Bella. Iris frowned seeing exactly what happened as all the students ran over to help Bella. Rosalia was grinding her teeth from next to Iris.

"I'm sorry to cut our conversation short Iris, but I have to go," Rosalie apologised.

"That's okay, I've got to go and make sure Bella is okay," Iris replied heading over to Bella to check on her, vampires were giving her a headache, she'll have to check to see if anyone saw what Edythe did and perhaps contact the American Ministry and get some Obliviators here erasing memories.

Arriving at the Hospital after picking up Teddy, Iris made her way through reception to find Bella who was being checked out by a vampire dressed in doctors whites, fancy that. Iris would have to question just how he has such control, though, it would mean he readily had access to blood bags.

"Bella, are you okay?" Iris asked as she and Teddy approached.

"Yeah I'm fine, could have been a lot worse if it hadn't have been for Edythe. She pushed me out of the way and its weird cause I thought she was on the other side of the parking lot," Bella said, Iris hummed.

"Did she? Huh, sounds like you were very lucky Bella. You're all good though, nothing too bad just a minor sprain on your wrist. Avoid using it for a day or two and you'll be at full health in no time," Carlisle Cullen, the head surgeon and Dr said.

"Thanks Doc."

"Your Father's on his way as well," Carlisle added and Bella winced.

Iris watched as Carlisle walked away, she had already determined who saw Edythe and had gone about removing their memories of the event but she would have to reveal herself to these vampires and give them, especially Edythe who seemed to be taking an abnormal interest in her friend. So she left Teddy with Bella who was more than happy to look after her favourite Potter, and followed Carlisle out.

"Edythe! What the hell, you nearly blew our cover!" Rosalie's voice hissed quietly from the hallway.

"What was I supposed to do?! Let her die! You know I couldn't let that happen," Edythe replied with just as much fury.

"It's a miracle no one saw what you did, Alice, Jasper, Edward, Emmett, Maggie and Laura did some damage control and no one seemed to see what you did," Carlisle added with a sigh as Iris rounded the corner.

"Iris, is Bella okay?" Rosalie's face softened seeing her mate approach.

"She's fine, but I think the three of us should talk somewhere more private. I would like an explanation as to why Edythe would risk exposure and alerting the Volturi to your exposure to humans. I've already had to do damage control," Iris said, her emerald eyes glaring at Edythe Cullen, the three vampires froze as Rosalie and Carlisle's mouths dropped while Edythe growled.

"How do you know about the Volturi?" Rosalie asked shocked.

"Perhaps we should take this to my office," Carlisle said.

"Lead the way," Iris replied.

The walk to Carlisle's office was short, Iris's attention was on Edythe most of the time, the bronze haired girl was tense and Rosalie was concerned while Carlisle was more curious than concerned. Closing the door behind them, Iris flicked her wand into her hand and cast a privacy charm.

"Firstly, how do you know about the Volturi? And I assume that means you know what we are?" Carlisle asked speaking as quietly as possible while sitting at his desk while Rosalie and Edythe were off to the side.

"I knew about your coven and the shifters before I moved here with my son, and you don't have to worry about being quiet I've already silenced the room and cast a privacy charm around us. And to answer the question you're about to ask, the reason I know is because I'm a Witch," Iris said with a sigh.

"A witch?" Rosalie said surprised, Iris nodded.

"What proof do you have?" Edythe said grinding her teeth and letting out a growl.

"Don't growl at her Edythe! This is your mess," Rosalie snarled at her sister and Iris looked at the two of them amused.

"If you require proof, lumos," Iris's holly wand slipped back into her hand and she cast the basic light spell, brightening the room and exposing the three vampire's glistening skin, Iris noted that Rosalie was beautiful in the sunlight.

"Is that enough proof?" Iris asked calmly, Carlisle nodded.

"So now that's out of the way, I would like an explanation about today. I've spent a decent amount of time erasing the memories of those who saw Edythe save Bella today and altering them so they thought she was close to Bella and shoved her out of the way. I'd like to know just why you're enamoured with my friend," Iris asked, crossing her arms, wand in hand.

"She's my mate," Edythe replied in a quiet voice, fists clenched.

"Is that why you spent your first class together staying as far away from her as possible and then avoiding her cause you were 'sick'? I don't believe you," Iris replied with a raised eyebrow.

"I was just so surprised, I wanted to take her away and explain everything right there and then. I had to stop breathing through that class just to not lose control," Edythe replied defensively, Iris sighed, she supposed that was a reasonable answer.

"And then you spent a few days hunting to gain your control back," Iris concluded, the girl nodded.

"Are you behind the attacks Chief Swan mentioned?"

"What? No! We don't hunt humans, ever," Edythe said offended.

"We think they're nomads, passing through. A few of us have tried to make contact but we seem to miss them," Carlisle explained, Iris frowned but understood.

"What are your intentions regarding Bella moving forward? If she is your mate I obviously won't oppose that claim but she is human and will either have to be turned or killed as per the laws imposed upon the Volturi by the International Confederate of Wizards. She also does have a choice as well and personally she is my friend so I do not wish to see her harmed."

"I plan on getting to know her, and eventually ask her what she wants to do. I love her with my entire being, I've been waiting for her for so long," Edythe said, a small smile on her face as she spoke about Bella.

"Okay, just don't expose yourselves in front of so many muggles, I mean humans. I do not like having to clean up your mistakes, I have a son to look after and homework to do," Iris said, she turned to leave but Rosalie's hand stopped her.

"Can I ask about your son? Does he have a father?" Rosalie asked, her face worried about what the answer might be.

"Teddy? Why do you want to know about my son?" Iris raised an eyebrow at the blonde.

"I just… I… yourmymate!" Rosalie rushed out, Iris's eyes went wide.

"I'm what?"

"My mate… but, I obviously won't do anything if Teddy has a father in the picture. But I hope we can be friends?" Rosalie sounded nervous, Iris looked up into her golden eyes, Rosalie's expression was scared and Iris decided in her heart that she liked it when Rosalie smiled.

"Teddy is my godson, there was a civil war in Magical Britain that ended not long ago. His parents and I fought against the Dark Lord who was attempting to take over. They died in the final battle, his grandmother Andromeda was killed during the civil war and he had no other living relatives so it was just me, his godmother that was left to take care of him. For our move I decided that he would just be my son in the human world to make things easier because for all intents and purposes, he is my child and I am his mother," Iris said softly, Rosalie let out a sigh of relief she was holding in.

"Could I take you on a date sometime?" Rosalie asked, Iris found herself smiling, she knew what a mate was to a vampire, it had been covered in defence against the Dark Arts. She just never expected to be the mate of a vampire, after all the conflicts she had been in, perhaps she should write to her friends about this, Hermione would have to many questions.

"I'd like that, I'd have to organise a sitter for Teddy or leave him with Bella and then leave Bella with supervision," Iris said.

"Why don't you and Teddy come over and meet the rest of the coven, officially, if you feel its safe, my wife and mate Esme would be more than happy to look after Teddy while you two go on your date," Carlisle offered.

"Meeting the family already?" Iris smirked and Rosalie rolled her eyes.

"Alright so you know the deal Bella?" Iris asked, she was wearing a form fitting black dress with some lace on the bust, her auburn hair was curled and tied in Viking plaits.

"Yes, yes, oh my god… hurry up already Rosalie should be here soon. Teddy and I will be just fine!" Bella shoed Iris towards the door.

"Okay, okay I'm going," Iris sighed as she approached the front door.

When she opened it she found Rosalie leaning against her white BMW, she was wearing black skinny jeans that hugged her curves and showed off her butt. On her top she had a crop-top with crimson lace and jewels showing off her ample bust. Her blonde hair was curled only slightly and left half down.

"Wow Iris, you look… breathtaking," Rosalie said in awe, Iris blushed as she approached.

"I got these for you," Rosalie produced a bouquet of roses, multicoloured.

"They're beautiful, thank you… I didn't get you anything," Iris realised.

"That's okay, it was my pleasure," Rosalie beamed as Iris smelt the flowers.

"No, no, I need to give you something. Give me a second, hold this," Iris held the bouquet out and Rosalie did as asked. Then watched as Iris carefully took a single rose and her wand flicked into her hand.

Waving her want over the singular rose, she transfigured it into a small silver amulet with the rose in its centre a vibrant pink, gold writing that read 'Rosalie' appeared above the rose, while 'Iris' appeared bellow. Smiling at her work she held the amulet out while taking the flowers from a speechless Rosalie and in the meantime cast a stasis and unbreakable charm on the flowers.

"It's beautiful," Rosalie breathed taking in the intricate detail. She brought the chain over her head and nestled the amulet between her breasts.

"Allow me to get the door for you," Rosalie said opening the passenger door, Iris smiled and sat down with the flowers in her lap while Rosalie flashed around the other side and got in the drivers seat in moments.

"So where are we heading?" Iris asked, a curious expression on her face.

"It's a secret, but you'll need this," Rosalie handed a small package to Iris who raised an eyebrow and opened it, immediately seeing a fake ID.

"Miss Hale, what kind of date do you have planned?" Iris raised an eyebrow.

"It involves being allowed to drink or get into certain places," Rosalie replied vaguely.

"Hmmm, only one small issue," Iris said and Rosalie frowned.

"What issue?" She asked.

Iris took the ID where it read 'Iris Harrison' and waved her wand over it changing the last name to 'Iris Black' and smirking then held her hand out.

"What?"

"Give me yours," Iris asked, Rosalie did as told and watched fascinated as she drove as Iris waved her wand and Rosalie's ID changed to 'Rosalie Black' and their ages adjusted.

"Same last name?" Rosalie asked.

"Yeap, we're… mates and while we get to know each other better. One day we will share the same name and well… you'll eventually come to appreciate the… benefits mine have with them. Even if I don't like them," Iris said. Rosalie wanted to ask more, but didn't.

They fell into a silent but comfortable drive, Rosalie's hand reached down and touched Iris's upper thigh, she was nervous when doing so but desperately wanted any form of physical contact even while she drove. Iris wasn't bothered and instead placed her left hand on Rosalie's on her thigh.

To say Iris should have been surprised when they rocked up at Canlis. Iris was glad she packed the only surprise that she thought of. She knew Rosalie was taking her to dinner so she had purposefully ordered a special potion that for 3 hours a vampire could eat. The only minor obstacle was the vampire had to mix their venom into the potion for it to work on them.

"Name?" The hostess asked, her eyes slightly glazed over as she openly gawked at Rosalie.

"Hale, for two," Rosalie said.

"Of course, please come this way Miss Hale and…?" She asked looking at Iris with a slight judgemental expression.

"Miss Black, my girlfriend," Rosalie answered for Iris.

"O-oh, of course. This way Miss Hale, Miss Black," the hostess said.

They were seated at a neatly set table, Iris fiddled with her bag, a bag of holding essentially. She slid her hand in with the intention of grabbing the potion and did so, pulling it out. She then slid it across the table to a confused Rosalie.

"It's a potion, add about 10ml of your venom to it and then drink it. For the next 3 hours you'll be able to eat and drink like a regular human, still have the strength and speed just you can actually eat and drink. After the 3 hours the potion will convert everything foreign in your system to blood to be digested," Iris explained at a volume only Rosalie could hear, Rosalie looked at her with surprise as well as unshed tears.

With vampire speed in the mix, she added the required venom to the potion and downed it within moments, stashing the potion vial away in her handbag as the strange feelings of being hungry and thirsty hit her, it felt foreign but she controlled the urge to shovel food into her mouth as their waiter who spent a bit of time leering at both girls, and got a bit miffed when he was promptly ignored except for when he was actually doing his job.

For Rosalie, she felt blessed to have the most thoughtful and special mate in the universe. After all her pain, her loneliness, to finally have a mate was a blessing. But to have said mate be part of a wider supernatural community? Sometimes she swore she was in a permanent dream. Then her perfect, gorgeous, mate, gave her a potion that allowed her to behave more human? To eat and drink and… dine together like a couple? She knew she would spend the rest of her existence making this woman, her mate, happy.

Once dinner was over, far too soon in Rosalie's opinion, and she had paid they had left with Rosalie's arm secured around her mates waist while Iris leaned into her with a slight stumble in her step, wine was not as strong as firewhisky after all. They got back into Rosalie's car and she started to take them to their next destination, dinner had taken an hour and a half so she only had about an hour left to be able to actually drink with her mate before the potion wore off. They had entered the nightclub as a married couple, Mrs. And Mrs. Black, it turns out the nightclub was owned by a muggle-born Witch named Camilla Velasquez and had personally welcomed Iris and Rosalie. They had been brought to an exclusive glamoured magic VIP table and area with Camilla telling her staff that the two of them were the most important customers she had ever had in the club and stressing the importance of privacy. Iris had appreciated what was being done and offered an autograph and a picture if Camilla wanted, the Witch eagerly took her up on her offer and a slightly tipsy Iris signed a moving Polaroid of her and Camilla smiling, the name 'Iris Potter' written in cursive with a heart on the top corner.

"You have to try this!" Iris eagerly stated as their personal waitress, Melinda? Melissa? Miranda? Eh, she forgot.

"What is it?" Rosalie asked as a bottle of amber liquid was brought over with two shot glasses.

"Ogden's Firewhisky! The best and most expensive drink we have in out world! The burn is fucking amazing," Iris said pouring two shots and handing one to Rosalie who sniffed it cautiously then watched as the small 5"2 girl slammed the shot down as if it were nothing.

Iris was… an interesting drunk, Rosalie didn't complain. The Firewhisky? She could do without that, the burn it gave her not to mention she coughed actual fire which had her panicked only slightly when Iris giggled at her. She was then pulled to the dance floor by the smaller auburn-haired girl after she watched Iris down like half of the bottle! Seriously that girl can drink!

Rosalie's mind went numb as she watched her mate, her beautiful, sexy, witch of a mate, move her body to the music the club was pumping. Iris's hands were above her body as she swung her hips left and right, twisting slightly as she swayed, biting her lip softly as her eyes were glued to Rosalie. Iris beckoned her onto the dance floor and Rosalie felt powerless to stop her feet moving even if she wanted to, she definitely didn't want to. She found herself behind Iris, hands on her hips as Iris pushed back into her. She held back a hiss as Iris's ass ground into her pelvis, her hands resting on the smaller girls hips while they swayed together to the beat of the music. They continued this dance for the next few songs before the music turned into something more sensual, more slow.

'I wanna kiss your eyes… I wanna drink that smile… I wanna feel like I'm…Like my soul's on fire… I wanna stay up all day and all night' Iris turned around in Rosalie's arms, her own coming to wrap around Rosalie's neck as Rosalie's hands on Iris's hips dug in a little to keep them standing while Iris stumbled a little bit in their grinding. A soft moan escaped Iris's lips and she bit them gently to try and control herself, Rosalie's eyes darkened slightly as emerald bore into slightly darkened gold as they swayed to the music.

'You know you could tear me apart… Put me back together and take my heart… I never thought that I could love this hard' Rosalie froze as Iris leaned in, she was helpless to stop her instincts as Iris's gentle lips met her own and then it was as if fireworks were going off in her head as they fell into a deep, passionate kiss in the middle of the dance floor amongst many humans who were cheering them on when they noticed.

They wrapped up the night shortly after and as Rosalie drove, Iris was asleep in the passenger seat. She fingered her new necklace and brought it to her lips. She was finally happy, her mate was everything and more, and nothing was going to stop her from giving her everything Rosalie could offer.

"So there's this book store in Port Angeles that I want to go to, I think Jessica and Angela want to go dress shopping for prom as well. Do you want to come?" Bella asked as they were hanging out at Iris' house while Iris and Rosalie were cooking dinner.

Ever since the Hospital incident and talk, Rosalie had started coming over to Iris' house more often, first it was to pick Iris and Teddy up and take Teddy to day-care and Iris to school with her and then do the home run. Then Iris ended up inviting the blonde into her house and allowing her to interact with Teddy, Rosalie was a natural mother and Teddy was enamoured with her blonde hair. While they had yet to have an actual date or for Iris to officially meet the coven, the two of them had grown closer and Iris was no longer guarded around her as she used to be.

"Prom shopping? Did Edythe ask you?" Iris asked.

"I… yeah she did, I think I'll be in Jacksonville though. I don't know, I mean, I want to go to prom with her. However, Mum and Phil have invited me to Jacksonville for the week to watch his game and spend some time with them," Bella explained, Iris hummed as she pointed to a cupboard, Rosalie reached up and took out a serving bowl and some plates, the two of them silently communicating. Honestly Iris was kind of glad Rosalie was taller and could help her reach stuff up high.

"I see, well I mean why not get a Dress just in case you do want to go to prom?" Iris replied.

"But if I don't go then it'll be a waste! What about you? Did Rosalie ask you to prom?" Bella smirked, looking at the blonde who froze and went wide eyed.

"I haven't asked you yet," Rosalie murmured looking down at Iris who looked amused.

"I just assumed we would be going together," Iris shrugged.

"Would you like to go to Prom with me Iris?" Rosalie asked.

"Yes," Iris replied with a smile.

"So… Port Angeles?" Bella asked feeling awkward about being around the two of them who were clearly together but not officially together.

"Yes Bella, we will come to Port Angeles with you," Iris sighed.

"Great! We're going this weekend," Bella said.

Of course Teddy would use that moment to speak up complaining, Iris rolled her eyes at her son's antics before looking over to Rosalie.

"Do you mind?" Iris asked, Rosalie beamed at her and nodded.

If there was one thing Rosalie had desperately wanted throughout her immortal years, it was to be a mother. Now with her mate and her mate's infant godson, she got the chance to be a mother although Iris took a bit to actually let Rosalie interact with Teddy which she couldn't fault. Occasionally Iris would ask Rosalie to entertain Teddy while she was doing something, mostly when she was cooking dinner for her and Bella who almost lived with Iris given how often she was over and would just take leftovers home for Charlie.

"Come here kiddo, let's see what we can do to entertain you," Rosalie walked over and picked Teddy up, the boy gurgling with excitement as he reached for her blonde hair. Rosalie swore she saw his eyes turn gold briefly to match her own before they were back to an emerald colour like Iris's. It was so quick that if she weren't a vampire she wouldn't have noticed the brief change.

Dress shopping in Port Angeles was fun, much more fun than it was when Iris was shopping for the Yule Ball. Rosalie drove her and Teddy and they met up with Bella, Angela and Jessica who were surprised that Rosalie was with them but Rosalie paid them no attention and was focused on Iris and Teddy. Iris opted for a slim fitting emerald cocktail dress, simple in its design but liking how it matched her eyes. Rosalie commented on how lucky she was that Alice wasn't here, apparently the pixie was a shopaholic and could take an entire week to shop if she got the chance and apparently she had been dying to get her hand on Teddy and her to dress them up. Rosalie had put her foot down and bluntly told Alice to not meddle in her new relationship with her mate which Iris found endearing, she would, however, not leave Teddy with Alice anytime soon.

Iris knew something had happened between Edythe and Bella almost instantly, Bella hadn't come over the entire weekend after their Port Angeles trip which was strange. However, stranger still was that she sat with the Cullen's at lunch, not that Iris could really argue as Rosalie spent lunch with her at what had become 'their table' outside.

"So there's a thunderstorm coming this weekend and the family is deciding to play baseball. Do you want to come?" Rosalie asked as she pushed her salad around on the plate.

"Baseball in a thunderstorm?"

"It's the only time we can play cause of how loud we would be, if you think you can keep up with us you can play as well," Rosalie teased.

"I don't think I'd be able to swing a bat at your strength but I can keep up with movements so maybe I can referee," Iris replied.

"Edythe brought Bella over to meet the family the other day, apparently she figured out what we were from books and old tribal legends from the Res," Rosalie added and Iris hummed.

"Which means she'll figure out what I am soon herself, hey wait! This is the first time Teddy and I will be meeting your family officially!" Iris realised and Rosalie gave a sheepish look.

"Is it so wrong for me to be selfish in not wanting to share my mate with others?" Rosalie asked and Iris gave a small smile.

"You haven't even taken me on a proper date nor have you kissed me yet," Iris teased and Rosalie raised an eyebrow before standing up and stalking forward.

"Oh? Do you want me to kiss you Iris?" Rosalie's eyes were going dark as she approached and Iris realised she may have just made a mistake, even if her body wanted it. Unfortunately the bell sounded and Rosalie sighed before giving Iris a smirk as she picked up their bags.

For the first time in a long time Iris was freaking out, the last time she had been this panicked she was making the decision to sacrifice herself for her friends at Hogwarts. Now, she was panicked due to the impending meeting with Rosalie's family, well a proper meeting. She had barely said a few words to Alice in art class and only met Carlisle at the Hospital that one time. Rosalie seemed perfectly happy to just be with her and Teddy alone and Iris had still been settling into their move and being a… single mother? she and Rosalie weren't dating officially but she was Rosalie's mate and had feelings for the girl clearly but they hadn't quite discussed just what that meant.

"What should I wear Teddy?" Iris murmured while Teddy sat on her bed while she was going through her wardrobe.

In the end Iris ended up wearing some waist high jeans and a lace crop top with her stomach exposed, her hair was left out and she had a long sleeve cardigan to finish the outfit off. Her wand holsters were disillusioned and she had her Black family knives in her boots and on her waist also disillusioned. The honking of a car horn got her attention as Rosalie and her BMW was waiting outside, Iris grabbed Teddy and his bag and headed out.

"You look beautiful," Rosalie said opening the back seat door so Iris could clip Teddy into the baby seat she had gotten for him.

"Thanks, I had no idea what to wear," Iris replied with a blush.

Iris became more nervous as they drove and by the time they arrived at the Cullen House where all the Cullen's minus Edythe had come out to greet them officially. Iris took a deep breath and Rosalie gave her a warm smile. She got out of the car and went to Teddy to unbuckle and take him out of the car before approaching the group. Carlisle and Esme, she assumed, she had never actually met the coven leader's mate before but she looked like the motherly type. They were stood in the centre while Alice and Jasper were too his right, Emmett and Maggie were next to them and on Carlisle's left was Edward and Laura. Iris looked at Edward and couldn't stop herself from speaking.

"Cedric?" She said looking as if she had seen a ghost.

"Who's Cedric?"

"Oh, no one. Sorry, Edward right? You just looked a lot like someone I once knew," Iris said.

"Iris, it's a pleasure to officially meet you. This is my wife Esme, you go to school with Alice and her mate Jasper, Emmett and his mate Maggie and my first turned Edward and his mate Laura. Edythe is picking up Bella currently, they should be back soon," Carlisle said with a smile.

"Iris Potter, guess I'm Rosalie's mate and this is my godson Teddy. And as you probably are aware I'm a Witch," Iris said simply.

"He's so cute! I can't wait to dress him up!" Alice squealed skipping over and taking one of Iris's hands in her own.

"We're going to be great friends! I know it!" She added, Rosalie was about to give Alice a warning when Edythe's Volvo pulled into the property and Bella and Edythe got out of the car.

"Iris? What are you doing here?" Bella asked confused.

"Baseball," she said with a shrug.

"You know? About them being…"

"Vampires? Yes, I'm Rosalie's mate," Iris replied, Rosalie beamed at Iris' acceptance of that fact, it helped that Iris was a witch and had learnt about vampires and mates prior and wasn't fighting the bond.

"Oh… that makes sense, I guess I just didn't notice she was acting like Edythe was with me," Bella said embarrassed.

"I dare say you were occupied with finding out about them being vampires as well as learning about each other much like Rosalie and I were doing. Or did you think she was over so often because of our class project?"

"Well yeah, I figured your mechanics class was heavy work so you needed extra study time. Wow I really am naive aren't I?"

"You're not the sharpest tool in the shed Bells," Iris sighed, Bella looked offended mockingly before she skipped over and took Teddy out of Iris' hands.

"At least Teddy likes me!" Bella stuck her tongue out at Iris who rolled her eyes, any tensions they had regarding the Cullen family was quickly forgotten.

"Well how about we go play some baseball," Emmett said with a grin.

The storm was brewing as the Cullen's all set up for the Baseball game, the teams were as follows. Edward, Edythe, Esme, Jasper and Alice against Rosalia, Laura, Emmett , Maggie and Carlisle. Iris would be the referee and Bella would hold Teddy and watch from next to Iris. Alice was pitching for their side as Laura stepped up to the plate. Iris had to admit that Vampire baseball was on an entirely different level, and mostly it was watching Rosalie's add in the tight baseball pants, oh and officiating the game. She may have given Rosalie a few passes, a few of the other family members had complained but Carlisle being the 'father' and coven leader he was simply said "We all agreed that Iris would be the referee so it's her call, we have to live with it." But still the score was team Edythe: 4 to team Rosalie: 6. However the game paused when Alice gasped having a vision.

"Everyone stop!" Their attention all turned to the woods as Iris frowned.

"They were passing by, but heard us and are now approaching," Alice said. Edythe was immediately over to Bella and Teddy while Rosalie flashed next to Iris who frowned.

"What's going on?" Bella asked.

"Nomads, come on Bella we have to get you and Iris out of here," Edythe said.

"There's no time," Alice warned.

"Form up, keep Bella, Iris and Teddy in between all of us," Carlisle ordered and the group did so, Iris was confused, nomads wouldn't be dangerous right?

From the forest emerged 3 vampires, all with crimson eyes. A red haired woman, a dark skinned man and a blonde haired man.

"Hello, we heard the game and wondered if we could play. It's not often we can enjoy one of America's greatest pass times," the dark skinned man said with a hint of a French accent.

"Uh… sure thing, some of us were just leaving so the teams will be uneven," Carlisle said.

"Well alright, let's play," the Frenchman said, Iris looked at them and her green eyes looked at the blonde who seemed to be looking at Bella and Teddy intently.

"Let's get set up, we'll pitch," the red haired woman said, Alice casually tossed the ball to the Frenchman but the red head caught it.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball," she smirked.

"Let's get going," Rosalie said, Edythe agreed silently and they began to move Bella, Teddy and Iris towards the cars when a gust of wind blew past and hissing was heard.

"You brought some snacks, and an appetiser as well. The kid smells like a nice starter," the blonde snarled licking his lips in hunger.

The Cullen's froze, Rosalie snarled and turned but a warm hand stopped her and she looked down to see anger on her mate's face. All of the Cullen's smelt the scent of death increasing as Iris turned around.

"James, I think we should go," the red head said, she was wide eyed and looking at Iris who shoved Rosalie off of her and pushed past Emmett, Edward and Jasper.

"Calm down Victoria," the dark skinned man said.

"Did you just threaten my son?" Iris growled.

"The human speaks, I don't normally take the time to talk to my food. Your son smells delicious. But perhaps I'll save him for dessert," James said.

"James, Laurant, we should leave. I don't like this," Victoria said again.

"Bella, would you kindly shield Teddy's eyes. I don't want him to see this," Iris said.

"Uh… sure but Iris shouldn't you, not threaten the Vampires?" Bella said hesitantly as she raised her hands to cover Teddy's eyes.

"Vampires aren't the only supernatural creatures that exist Bella," Iris said, flicking her wrists as the Elder wand slid into her left hand and her trusted Holly wand into her right.

"What are you going to do with those fancy sticks?" James taunted.

Iris flicked her wrist with the Elder wand and sent a shockwave towards the three. Victoria immediately dove out of the way and the blonde also moved, Laurant, the third didn't move in time as Iris' cutting curse removed an arm in the blink of an eye. Laurant screamed in pain before Iris removed his head in the next action.

"What the hell!" James snarled.

"You threatened my son," Iris snarled, elder wand levelled at him.

Now her scent was properly registering for the tracker, the girl who had finished off Laurant with her sticks in mere moments smelled of death and decay. His instincts were now telling him to run, to run as far away as he could lest she find him. He turned to flee only to fine himself being pulled towards her as the right hand stick was pointed at him. The red head stared at Iris with a mixture of awe and horror as James was pulled closer and closer.

"Incendo," Iris hissed slipping into parseltongue as violent flames erupted from the elder wand flying at James who screamed as he was pulled into the inferno coming from her hand.

Once the vampire was now ash, she let out a sigh and looked at Victoria daring her to do anything. The woman just paled before fleeing, picking up Laurant's body to piece him back together later. She then turned to the Cullen's as her wands returned to their holsters, all of them were looking at her in shock, Bella's mouth was wide open.

"So… Bella, I'm a Witch."

A/N: As Always, Pat. r30N is a fair few chapters ahead. I will be uploading chapters on fanfiction as I upload a new chapter on Pat. This way I continue to cycle new chapters through and as noted on "This is War" my best writing method is to write multiple stories at the same time so hopefully you enjoy all of them!
