I went back and put the remembering in italic per December Jeffier2's suggestion.

Chapter 6

When: Sunday, December 12, 2027

Where: The Logan Huntzburger Estate in the Hamptons

Sunday morning, Chris was leaving his room early to go fishing with Luke. They were picking up Mitch. He was almost down the stairs, he was trying to be quiet, he saw one of the twins tip-toeing back to her room. He shook his head. Luke was already up. He was making them a couple of sandwiches to eat when they got hungry.

He came out of the kitchen as Chris was entering the dining room. "I fixed a couple of sandwiches and a couple of thermos of coffee," Luke said.

"Good. I just witnessed one of the twins sneaking back to her room." Chris told him.

"Do you know whose room she was coming from?" Luke asked.

"No, I don't even know which twin it was." he told him, both shaking their heads

Rory and Logan were slow to go downstairs this morning. Rory was laying in bed reading and Logan was sitting at the desk on his laptop, working on some emails he needed to get caught up on. Logan had glanced over Rory's way several times. He didn't think she was reading: Rory was remembering when they brought Richie home. Or when they brought Richie to the Pool House. She remembers Logan asking Emily to help him keep everyone at bay. He wanted Rory to get some rest. He wanted her to sleep while Richie sleeps, but if she has company, she will feel obligated to entertain. Emily agreed, but she hired Rory a nanny to help. Rory and Logan agreed, but only after they moved into their house.

Logan got Rory and Richie home and settled on the couch in the pool house. The bassinet and swing had been set up in the living room.

Emily peeked in the door. "Good you are up," Emily said as she walked in. "I just wanted to tell you that Logan, your parents are coming for supper tonight, Rory so is yours. I told them that you wanted to be able to rest today, so they agreed to supper tonight. Anything special you want me to have the cook fix?" Rory and Logan both told her anything would be fine. Rory added except fish. Emily left them alone for the rest of the day.

Rory had taken a shower. Logan had to help her. She had a c-section and still had staples. The nurse told Logan that he needed to help her in the shower until the staples come out. If she was to fall, it could bust her open. Logan was sitting on the bed talking to Richie while Rory was standing in the closet in a bathrobe.

"Logan, I have nothing to wear. Nothing that would be appropriate for a meal with Grandma and your parents." She told him

"Momma is worried about looking good, Richie. We don't care do we, momma looks good always. That's right?" Logan was talking to Richie while he laid on the bed. "Logan." "Wear your black leggings and one of your maternity tops. If Emily has a problem with that, we will walk right out that door, taking Richie with us all the way to the pool house." Rory smiled at that.

They were almost ready to go. Emily had everything they needed for Richie at her house, but Rory wanted to pack a diaper bag anyway. She was finishing up, while Logan was wrapping Richie up in his blanket when someone knocked on the door. Logan thought he heard someone trying to get in before he heard the knock, but he had locked the door. When he got to the door, Lorelai was standing there.

"Hey, Logan." She said,

"Lorelai." He returned

"Where is Richie? I thought I would come over and help Rory get him ready." She asked.

Rory came out of the bedroom. "He is ready. Logan dressed him." Rory said as Logan passed Rory to go pick up Richie.

"Thanks, Lorelai, but we got this," Logan said. Lorelai wasn't too happy, She told Rory when she found out she was pregnant that she could expect Logan to cheat on her while she was pregnant, and then after the baby was born, he would be no help. Rory knew that Logan would not cheat on her and she also realized that he would have to work, but she was hormonal and she started crying. Lorelai thought she had finally got Rory to listen. But Rory hung up the phone on her. She showed up early today because she thought she could help Rory and show her that Logan would be no help. She was surprised.

Everyone cooed over Richie. Emily was so proud. She had everything set up in the living room for Richie. Shira asked Emily what shop she found everything in, She wants the same setup at her house. She didn't want to give Rory and Logan any excuse not to visit. She wanted to be a part of Richie's life. Lorelai was making snide comments under her breath every time Emily or Shira would talk about Richie's hair lighting up and hoping his eyes stayed the color blue they were not.

Finally, Richard was fed up. He asked to speak to Lorelai in his study. Even with the heavy door, you could hear Lorelai get loud. When Lorelai exited the study, she told Luke it was time to go. Rory was still hormonal. She was sitting beside Logan on the couch. Tears were running down her face. Shira had Richie. She was talking to him.

Logan got up from the desk, "Ace, you have not turned a page since you laid down." He said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.

"Not, really, I was just thinking about when we brought Richie home from the hospital and Grandma had that dinner party to show him off. At least she kept it to family only." Rory was smiling. Those are some good memories. You just have to overlook the bad ones.

When they got downstairs, there were suitcases piled in the foyer. "I guess everyone is ready to go," Rory said, looking around.

"Yep, but I have to wait for my husband who went fishing early this morning," Lorelai said.

When Luke and Chris came in the door, Andy and Hayden were following them. "Dad, you have got to come and see what Pops and Grandpa caught. The fish takes up the whole ice chest." Hayden was telling Logan, loudly. Everyone went to see the fish.

"What are you going to do with it?" Collin asked.

"I am giving them to the cook, she can take it home to her family." He said. Everyone was talking and laughing.

Chris called Logan and Colin over to the sideyard. "I feel like a fink," Chris says. "But as a grandfather and a father, I need to tell you." Logan and Colin looked at Chris.

"Which one?" Logan asked.

"See that is the problem. I saw one of the twins sneaking back to her room this morning when I was leaving. I don't know which twin, so I don't know which boy."

"Don't worry about it, Chris. Logan and I will take care of it." Colin said.

Everyone was getting loaded up to leave. Colin and Logan pulled Richie and Andy to the side. "Take the girls home, then I want you to come straight home," Logan said.

Before he could protest, Collin said. "You too Andy." Andy and Richie both looked at each other. They knew they were in trouble, they just had to figure out which thing they were trouble for.
