Main Characters: Elsword (Infinity Sword) - Eve (Code: Battle Seraph)

1 - Foreseeable Future

"Elsword, pay attention to where you're going."

"Come on, Eve. There's no need to be too careful."

Elsword and Eve are on their task to scout the area and report the situation. The El Search Party arrived at a small post where they met a green haired Nasod, Yuno. They learnt that the place they arrived at was Atlas Station, located outside Atlas City. Yuno told them that the only way to reach Elysion was going through the portal which was at the Tower. The gang then knew what their next objective was.

Until now, they went through Diceon Mine and defeated a mad scientist called Denka and gained access to the mine to collect required material for Yuno. However, upon discovery, they found those cubes were gone and the last trace they could find was them heading to Atlas City. Elsword volunteered to scout the area, followed by Eve, the Queen of Nasod. She goes wherever he goes, and no one in the group doesn't know why.

"We have no clue of what they can do, plus they are the third generation of Nasod. I have no idea what they could do."

"Well we have the second generation of Nasod here who beats the crap out of the third generation. It makes me wonder why the third generation is weak even though they have better upgrades."

Eve looked at him with her golden eyes and then responded, "For your information, those Nasods are mass produced for security purposes, just like Nasod Guards back in Altera. I cannot say that you have full knowledge of us as you would swing your sword at everything that's a threat to us."

"Spare me your lecture," Elsword retorted with faint red "I was doing the duty of the Red Knight to retrieve the stone back."

They walked to the clearer area as they could see the tower in the center. Eve scanned the area and then surveyed the tower. Through her vision, she could see the flow of energy concentrating on the tower and heading to the sky.

"No doubt about it. It's our only entrance to the Elysion."

"However, going there is not easy." Elsword added, watching the tower with his binocular which he obtained from Lanox "It's highly guarded by lots of Nasod, not to mention the alarm will go off when we attack."

"Obviously."

Eve looked at the core tower as her visual is running analysis. She detected multiple surveillance cameras on every corner. The only way to find the mainframe of the surveillance was accessing one of the cameras without getting detected. She turned her attention to the entrance of the city and spotted the gate was shut tight, guarded by five Nasod Guards.

"Elsword, let's head there first. I need to access one of the surveillance cameras."

"Them? No problem."

They left their position and approached slowly. Elsword called out Conwell swords in both hands.

"Let's go."

"Wait."

Eve held his shoulder, stopping him from jumping out.

"What?"

"Do not expose yourself recklessly. Wait for my mark."

She held a lightning orb in her palm and tossed at them. The lightning orb struck one guard and flashed a bright light, blinding them. Elsword threw Conwell at one of them, effectively piercing it, and attacked the rest. Once they were out of commission, Eve went to the camera while Elsword guarded.

"Even the guards have automatic alarm sensors when they detect an unknown biological form."

"You knew?"

Elsword was surprised as Eve was connecting to the camera.

"That's why I stopped you from doing anything that could kill you." Eve said, "I can't leave you out of my sight for a second."

"Don't treat me like I'm a child!"

Eve ignored his yell and continued her objective. She successfully hacked the camera and allowed her to track the mainframe of surveillance. She then began tracking the line where it headed to the deeper core below the surface and soon she found it. However, she made an attempt to break it but after that she found something.

A sight of a titan-sized Nasod surrounded by drones that were examining.

"This is…"

"Eve, what's wrong?"

"WARNING! SURVEILLANCE INFILTRATION DETECTED!"

"?!"

"Aah!"

Eve was suddenly knocked back by the surveillance camera's shock. Elsword quickly caught her before she hit the ground. Inside the city, the alarm sound went off and the sky then was covered by sight of Nasod Guards floating to the entrance.

"We need to go, now!"

Elsword carried her back to the group just as a swarm of Nasod Guards arrived.

"I have special gifts for ya!"

As they were chasing after Elsword and Eve, he summoned two Conwell swords and stabbed the ground. Once they reached the place the swords were, large seals glowed and pierced them with multiple shadow Conwell swords.

At this time, Eve woke up. She said no word. But instead, she floated with her electronic wings, leaving Elsword's arms, and shot a large beam through the small portal that transformed into multiple homing energy that pierced through guards, eliminating them. As soon as the last guard was destroyed, Eve softly landed on the ground.

"You're still brutal, even to your own kind."

"They are not the same Nasod Generation as my own Nasod, therefore there's no need to feel remorse for destroying them. Let's get back, we need to regroup and inform the El Search Party about this commotion."

Elsword nodded and followed her. Eve was walking while her mind was thinking about the vision she had seen. There's no doubt about it. But how did they get their hand on it? It was supposed to be destroyed along with the ancient city. That question couldn't have the answer now as she knew it would become an obstacle to the El Search Party.

After a long walk, they returned to the outpost where the gang asked them about the new situation. Rena asked first.

"Elsword, Eve, you two alright? I heard the alarm and explosion."

"We are good, Rena. Eve tried to infiltrate the surveillance cameras inside the city, but we failed. She stumbled into the trigger and alerted the whole city."

"The whole city?" Yuno said with surprise, "I did not expect the whole city to be alarmed. Usually, when an anonymous unit that is not recorded in the database enters the city, it will alarm guards that belong to that section, not all of them. The rest will be on guard if that section fails to stop them. What did you do?"

Elsword did not know how to answer this and looked at Eve, hoping she knew why. To Elsword's surprise, he noticed a rare hint of emotion from her eyes.

'Anger…?'

"Yuno, what else do you hide from us?"

Eve coldly asked the Nasod boy, making him startled.

"Eh? What are you talking about?"

"Eve? What do you mean hiding from us?"

"I have seen inside the mainframe. There's a unit that does not belong to the city." Eve said, "They have one of my inventions. Somehow they got their hands on it, and are modifying it as their own."

Upon hearing it, tension arose among the gang. They knew Eve was an advanced Nasod created in ancient times. She was notorious for the creation of Nasod weapons and arsenal that were beyond their knowledge, with the exception of Yuno who received the database of his predecessor..

"Your invention? A weapon?"

"More than that."

"That's not possible. The third generation of Nasod is almost no different from the second generation. I have given you what I know about it." Yuno retorted.

"It's not about the third generation. It's a guardian. What do you know about the Aero City?"

Eve told the name of the city. Yuno immediately found it familiar. However all he knew was just a name, the detailed information was marked as classified and he had no clearance to view it.

"Yes, but I do not have access to that information. It is locked by Dekal."

"That crazy scientist?"

Chung asked.

"Yes, it's him."

"Tsk."

Elsword heard Eve click her tongue, something he never heard from her.

"Very well, I shall not ask you further about this."

Eve walked past Yuno and the gang.

"Elsword, what happened to her? Did you anger her or something?"

Aisha asked suspiciously.

"Anger her? Why would you say that?"

"You are the only one being seen around her more than any of us, so of course I have to ask you first."

"No, but I have to admit it, something's wrong with her."

After a long discussion, Elsword went to check on Eve. He walked to a camp that was set up with tag names on it. He went inside and found her inside a capsule in order to recover. Apparently, both Elsword and Eve were set in the same camp as she insisted on keeping him in her eyes. The last time he remembered was her seeking him when she hadn't found him in their camp and received a slap for it.

Elsword let out a sigh. She became so overprotective.

"Why do you sigh?"

He heard Eve's voice and saw her eyes stare at him, the same golden eyes that always looked at him.

"Nothing, Eve. Nothing at all."

"You could have come up with a better excuse for that fast heartbeat of yours."

Eve spoke, still the cold voice he heard everyday. Elsword sat down and took a rest after what they had done. The capsule unlocked and the girl stepped out. She approached the man and sat beside him. The girl was not sure why she wanted to sit beside him. It felt like it was what she must do after the problem she learnt. Leaning her head on shoulder, it's strange that her system began cooling down, even though she did not activate the cooling system.

She had no clue what the previous code thought about him.

"So what are we up to, Eve? You said that the guardian below there is one of your inventions."

"It is, and it's beyond your level to go against, Elsword." Eve said.

"So what do you think we should do?"

"We need to investigate further into this. If this guardian is what I am afraid of, we must find out how much they have exploited it, find the weakness and destroy it."

"I get it. However, it would be tough knowing that they are already in alert state."

"I know, but I can assure you they are nothing to the Queen of Nasod. But I believe you should be more careful when that time comes."

"That again? You know me better than I can handle by myself."

Elsword grumbled, having to tell her again. He knew Eve was worried about him, not her feelings, but her system was programmed by the previous code to do so. While he appreciated that she cared for him, he felt like what she did was just commands. However, what has been done is done and there's nothing that could be reversed.

He looked back at Eve who was simply resting on his shoulder. He attempted to wrap his arm around her but decided to hold that.

After a few minutes, his eyes felt weary and slowly closing, drifting into sleeping. Not aware of his surroundings, Eve got up and went to the cliff where she could view the city. She scanned the city and saw that it had more guards than before. She calculated all possible plans in order to infiltrate yet she got no result. That meant the only choice she got for the team was to burst into the location where the mainframe was and gain control of the tower.

Eve could have done that alone, yet her objective does not allow her to go. She had to protect Elsword within her sight as instructed.

Thinking of the records the previous code still kept, she saw them, of how the boy came into her life, of how she accepted him as her friend. Perhaps, it's what humans call friendship. As the record forwarded to the next timestaph, she saw the boy adapted the Dark El that improved his fighting style, yet he suffered from it.

Her face maintained a calm look, which was the result of an emotion termination procedure.

She felt the might of the boy displaying in defeating opponents, somewhat making her proud. However, the overuse of Dark El resulted in hurting the boy. It's downright reckless when he thought he could take them on his own. That's when she came and aided him. He might look annoyed, but a smirk clearly showed on his face.

As if he knew she would rush in.

When the record reached Lanox, she turned it off as she did not need to see it again.

And then, there's the necklace. She saw the necklace with the phoenix shape. It's quite strange for a boy who was not seen using any magic to forge this one. When she stared at it, the phoenix lit up. The magic indeed responded to her vision, but that was all it could do. She examined the phoenix necklace for a while before she let out a sigh with no new discovery.

She returned to the camp and rested for what would come tomorrow.

The next two days, Elsword and the gang arrived at the entrance to Atlas City. They had prepared to find out where Diceon cubes were gone.

"Alright, let's summarize what we need to do. We will access the mainframe directly by heading there. Yuno and Eve will guide us and our job is keeping them at bay while they modify the mainframe to gain control of Nasod from spamming at us. You with me?"

"Clear."

"We're with you."

"Let's get the job done."

"Alright, let's move out!"

The group invaded Atlas city, alarming the security. Elsword threw Conwell swords at both guards near them, officially beginning the war.

"Let the cute magical girl teach you a dance!"

Aisha, taking the different path from the ordinary magician, swung her wand and casted a black hole effect that pulled Nasod guards close to her, then large purple waves wrapped around them and shredded them apart. At the same time, her body glowed and transformed into a new appearance of Dimensional Witch. Using her extended staff, she smashed one of the guards and slammed the next one with strong force.

"Brat! Head up!"

She teleported next to a group of three guards and casted a field magic that lifted them up and tossed at a red haired boy.

Elsword heard his name called and launched a barrage of Conwell swords at the given targets.

"Can it, will you?! Don't make it like a habit!"

"Aw come on, I'm sure you can dispose of them."

Elsword responded by cutting a guard in half and kicked a guard back to her, who shattered it with a smash.

"Elsword, watch yourself."

Through the comm he received from Eve, he noticed a line of sentry-like Nasod guards stood in formation and formed a wall.

"Analyzing… Code C Defender. They are no doubt the front line defense to keep us away."

"That's not all…"

Elsword noticed a group of Nasod equipped with twin cannons floating above Defenders. He then had to dodge incoming barrages of plasma directly at him.

"Shit, they organize formation." Elsword cursed with a frown.

"Leave them to us."

Immediately, he saw Raven throwing incinerate grenades while Chung, with mortars installed behind him, launched a series of bombs at them. The explosion effectively destroyed the back line, allowing Elsword to charge in. He jumped over the Defenders and began slashing Nasod with twin swords.

"Which one is better, my sharpness, or your scraps?! Rage Cutter!"

He stabbed Conwell on the floor, summoned countless swords from below and pierced them. Their formation had been destroyed, giving the group the opening to go deeper in the city.

Eve glided above the group. She constantly dealt with the hovering guards that tried to attack them with their cannons. Eve concentrated her energy and transformed into needle shaped arrows.

"Energy Needles."

Her cold golden eyes stared at those Nasod before she snapped her fingers, destroying any airborne targets. She landed and followed beside Elsword to the mainframe.

"Oh man, this place is huge. It looks like a fortress to me."

"It has security system everywhere. We cannot stop for a moment of breath."

"Oh dear, then I can show them a bit more. Eun wants to come out and tear them apart."

"Though I do not wish to be electrocuted by… those cannons. My sensitive ears cannot stand it."

The woman with silver hair and fox ears spoke up in two different tones, indicating that her body was under control of both Ara and Eun.

"This way, everyone."

Eun guided the group to a hidden alley. The moment they went in, a horde of Nasod guards went past.

"We are good for now. I don't think we can handle that mass number of guards."

Raven spoke up.

"Yuno, where do we go next?"

Rena asked the Nasod boy, who responded by scanning the area before him. He could see the terrain of the city and found the next path they should take.

"Over here, there's a shortcut heading to the mainframe."

"Let's go."

Elsword followed the boy. His eyes wandered around the city. Sights of Nasod were found floating to find the intruders. He could feel the war would not end until they reached Elysion. Lots of questions were in his mind.

How did their journey lead them to a further world they never thought existed?

How did Elesis, his sister, bear the power of El Lady?

Why did he have to embark on this adventure to protect the world?

Why him?

"Your heartbeat rate is increasing, Elsword."

Eve reminded him, who noticed a sudden change in his health.

"I'm fine, Eve. I have a lot of things in my mind."

"I see… Please keep those thoughts from being a hindrance to our plan. You may not receive any answer if our plan does not come to fruition." Eve said calmly.

"... You're right. I shouldn't think too much."

Elsword watched the Nasod Queen walking beside him. Her eyes looked toward as her expression did not change. He already knew the situation the girl was in and what became of her. He couldn't change her decision. He's also the one encouraging her to do as she wanted.

A Queen of Nasod with no record of human emotion left in her system.

He had no choice but to follow the flow.

...

"We are here."

The group had arrived at the large building.

"But… Why is it far away from the tower?"

Rena asked in confusion.

"Beat me."

"Mainframe has the access code to enter the tower. We won't be able to advance without the access, which is an A-rank core."

Yuno explained and stood before the building.

"Um… Yuno… There's no entrance."

"It is. It's just… you don't see it."

Yuno's eyes flashed and raised his right hand before the building. Everyone then saw an entrance slowly opening, revealing a hidden path.

"There we go."

"Make haste." Eve said, "We don't have much time until the guards reach here."

"Alright, everyone. You all know what to do."

Elsword and the others nodded. Eve and Yuno entered the building while the others stood guards. Not long after, the guards found them.

"Foolish robots! You stand no chance against the Queen!"

"I have your back, Lu. Supreme Punishment!"

The assassin/former hitmen casted a wave of dark energy on Nasod guards, effectively damaging their armors. Lu jumped in and slammed the ground with giant gauntlets, knocking and destroying any guard on her way. Ciel pulled out knives and threw at the cores before he pulled the trigger and shot them down.

"Feel my kick!"

With great agility and flexibility, the Elf lady, Rena, dodged the incoming blade from one of them. She knocked it airborne and shot it at point blank.

"Phoenix Strike!"

Her crossbow gathered a large power of El, shaped the form of a phoenix and launched it toward a horde that destroyed or crippled them in the heat.

"Rose!"

"I'm on it! And… There we go! Bombard incoming!"

The golden haired woman tapped on the hologram and called her plane. The group noticed a large aircraft passing in the air, which began raining down with explosions, clearing any guard.

"Man… such firepower."

"Brat."

"Huh?"

He heard his name called by a Dynamo user.

"Get inside. We can handle it from here." Add spoke as he controlled Dynamo, "Both Eve and Yuno won't know what else is inside the building except mass data and may need help."

"... Alright, I will. Thanks."

Add nodded and turned back, with Dynamo armed at his command.

"Panzer Buster!"

Elsword headed inside the building and was stunned by the internal structure of the building. It's like a maze to him with traces of advanced technology. He followed the path to find Eve and Yuno while wandering his eyes. As he walked, he was not aware of the surroundings until he noticed the light here was faint.

His eyes looked back and forth, feeling uneasy by the environment. It's not like he had a fear of darkness.

He's not alone.

He kept walking and walking, sensing that feeling back again, but this time stronger.

*Clang!*

He turned around and blocked a stealthed attack. Yet a late moment got him a scratch on his cheek.

"Damn it."

He slashed the Nasod down in rage.

'How the hell did it manage to sneak attack me?'

However, it was not the only one.

"?!"

He heard sounds like footsteps and pulled second Conwell. He watched around, trying to hear any sound.

"Got you!"

He ducked and avoided fatal attacks from both Nasod, which appeared out of nowhere and thrusted their blades from both sides. He slashed them both into halves.

"I need to find Eve and Yuno fast."

Elsword recalled the swords and headed to the lower floor.

'Man, I hate high technology!'

He couldn't tell what to do with all the consoles he encountered, not to mention those Nasod on his way. He was running from another wave of Nasod guards with intent to eliminate the threat. His luck went worse when he saw two turrets emerge and point at him.

'Shit…'

He knelt down, lowered his head and waited for impending doom. He heard turrets firing non-stop and then…

Nothing.

"Huh?"

He did not feel any pain. He looked at the turrets and then looked back to see all the guards were shot down.

"How?"

"Are you a fool?"

He heard a familiar voice and saw a camera looking at him.

"Eve?"

"Rushing in without any guidance toward the core is like asking to be killed by them."

Her voice was still the same but somehow he detected a hint of anger in it.

"I did not know you care for me?"

"Make no mistake, I am programmed to keep an eye on you wherever you are. The moment you entered the building, the security was alarmed and I tapped into it to see you being hunted by guards. Now, get inside. More will come soon."

The door opened before Elsword, who immediately entered when he heard noises behind him.

Elsword followed Eve's guidance to the room she and Yuno were in. On his way, he noticed a room that made him curious and entered, much to Eve's confusion.

"Where are you going?"

"Just a minute."

Elsword examined the room filled with strange mechanical things. He looked at one hanging inside a capsule that fascinated him. It looked like a frame with the same height as his, combined with locks on both wrists and ankles, and a small console on the left arm. He somehow felt it familiar but could not put a finger on it.

"Elsword, we don't have much time."

"Alright, I'm coming."

Elsword looked at it for one last time before he left the room.

Though, somehow he felt like he would meet it again.

There we go, a new chapter of the remake story. *Sighs* finding all the data of the old raid surely is not easy. And... Yeah, the Soulmate system is a remake couple system with partner system, not what I think... Where the F*** is character combination skills!?

Ahem... Anyway, Read and Review, please OwO /
