Alastor unlatched the peephole window and the children looked through to see that on the other side was Moxxie and Millie having dinner outside. It was a very beautiful and romantic scene, like something straight out of a movie. A starry night sky, a picnic dinner set with candlelight, champagne, and flowers. Millie's hair was styled neatly and she wore an beautiful yet tempting black dress with matching heels while her husband was in a dashing suit.

"Happy Anniversary Millie." He said holding up his glass of champagne.

"Moxxie this is wonderful." His wife said after they did a cheers.

"Really?" Her husband replied insecurely. "Because I know you really wanted to try that new nightclub that opened up and I tried to save up for it but-"

"This is much better than any nightclub. After all this is exactly what we did the night you proposed to me. Minus the champagne of course."

"Right. We drank your father's moonshine instead." Moxxie chuckled. "He never did forgive me for taking his last jar of it."

"I remember that night so well. We had been dating for a year and my sister Sallie May kept teasing me that city boys like you never settle down. That now that you had your way with me you were going to shift your advances on to someone more cultured and refined."

"But I proved her wrong because the next day I called you outside for an evening picnic, I sang a song that I wrote just for you, and then I slid the ring on your finger. To this day I'm surprised you said yes."

"Why?"

"Because the ring was so cheap. The band was brass and the stone was an amethyst I found in a rock I broke when I tripped over it."

"But you had made the ring yourself. You put all your love into it. That was ten times better than the ring my ex boyfriend gave me."

"That ring was gold and it had three diamonds."

"Yeah and it came off the finger of the girl he cheated on me with. As soon as I saw her initials engraved on the band I threw it into his eye."

"That reminds me, Millie why aren't you wearing your engagement ring tonight?"

Millie looked down at her ring finger shamefully and then looked back at her husband with a face of remorse.

"I'm sorry honey but I lost it."

"You lost it?"

"Yes. I don't know what happened. I just woke up one morning and it was gone. I've looked everywhere for it but it's like it completely vanished."

"Well did you check in the picnic basket?"

"The picnic basket? Why would it be in there?"

"Still it can't hurt to check can it?"

Millie was skeptic to the suggestion but she looked inside the basket and not only did she find her ring but she found that a new gemstone had been added to it. Right next to the amethyst was a heart shaped diamond.

"What the- Where did this come from?"

"Surprise!" Moxxie cheered. "While you were asleep I took the ring off your finger and brought it to a jeweler to give it a diamond."

"Moxxie this is gorgeous! But how could you afford this?"

"I've been saving up for it since we got married. I always felt that you at least deserved a diamond ring."

"Oh Moxxie!"

She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. After that he pulled a radio out from the basket.

"I know that normally I serenade you on our dates but I thought a dance would be a nice change."

He pressed a button and music started to play. Millie's eyes instantly twinkled like the stars above when she recognized the song.

"This was the song that played the night we met." She awed. "Moxxie you remembered."

"How could I forget? I was living with my uncle who worked as a caterer and he had been hired one night to cater the upcoming Harvest festival, but when one of his employees turned up drunk he asked me to fill in. I had just finished mixing the punch bowl for the dance when I saw the most beautiful woman in the world pounding a guy for trying to grope her. It was love at first sight."

"Then you came over and asked me to dance." She finished. "You said that we could dance without touching because I had been sexually harassed and I said okay just to see if you really meant it. You did and when the dance was over I gave you a big wet one."

"But we can dance while touching this time right?"

"Of course."

"Oh I can't watch this anymore." Alastor said quietly. "It's so sweet, I'm getting a cavity."

"I think it's the most beautiful thing ever." Charlie sighed.

The girl just couldn't tear her gaze away from the couple. Seeing them dancing and holding one another, looking at their partner as if they were their whole world, it was something that she had never seen before. Now she had read romantic books. and she had seen romantic movies but this was her first time seeing true love for real. Not just a sweet story that was made up for entertainment but real love that existed between two real people. It made her wonder if she would ever know something so beautiful.

Speaking of beautiful, Alastor could not resist noticing how Charlie's face looked in that moment. Her blue eyes sparkled with wonder and her lips had formed a very darling smile. He always loved it when she would smile. He couldn't stand to see her sad and he would do anything to keep her happy. Then an idea came to him.

He tapped Charlie on the shoulder and when she turned to look at him, he said not a word but smiled and bowed. Understanding his offer, her smile grew and she answered his request with a curtsy. Charlie placed her hand into Alastor's and his held on to hers, their fingers interlacing. She laid her other hand on his shoulder and his arm went around her waist. Slowly, they danced in circles, mimicking the steps of the couple they had been watching. It started out just as innocent fun. Just two children imitating what they saw two adults do, but as they moved closer to each other, the fun started to fade and a foreign feeling developed between them.

Charlie was looking at Alastor differently. Something about her eyes changed. They still sparkled but in a different way, a way that made Alastor's heart rate speed up. Her cheeks were turning rosy and she kept trying to get closer to him. He slightly backed away from her and glanced at the peep hole again. Charlie did the same and they saw that Moxxie and Millie had finished their dance with a kiss. It made Alastor feel flushed but Charlie's rosiness bloomed even more so. She then proceeded to slowly approach him.

"Um...Charlie." He was now backed up against the wall. "Wha-What are you doing?"

"I just want to give you something." She stuck her hand into her nightgown pocket and when it came back out it was in a fist. Making it appear that she had an object in her hand.

"What is it?" He asked her.

"It's something very special."

Alastor calmed down a little and held his hand out to her. She raised her fist but she didn't drop anything into his hand. She wasn't even holding anything. She just opened her empty fist and gently placed her hand on to his cheek. He looked at her confused.

"This is yours." She smiled. "I don't want anyone else to have this except you."

Before he could question her about what she meant, Charlie did something that Alastor could have never been prepared for. She kissed him. She closed her eyes, leaned in close, and slowly pressed her lips to his. It was her first kiss. Her very first kiss, and she had given it to him.

Alastor was stunned. His reddish-brown eyes had gone wide and his body turned stiff. He didn't have the slightest idea what was happening or what he should do. He just stood there letting her kiss him.

Charlie liked kissing him. It felt amazing. It filled her with joy and warmth. So much warmth. She felt warm all around her and inside of her. It was like she had turned into a ray of sunshine. But suddenly the warm feeling turned hot. Very hot. Hot like a fire.

She felt Alastor's lips leave hers and she opened her eyes which had suddenly turned crimson red, to see that he had passed out on to the floor. She would have tried to wake him but then she discovered that her hands were now on fire. A white flame had somehow sparked from her finger tips and was now spreading all over body. She didn't feel any pain but it still scared her.

"Stop it!" She cried shaking her arms rapidly. "Stop it! Stop it! Go away!"

But the fire just kept spreading and spreading until her entire body was encased in flames. She screamed and the white fire was unleashed on to anything that came near.

"Help me! Somebody help me!"

Millie and Moxxie heard the screams and smelled the smoke.

"Oh my God!" Moxxie gasped when he saw the flames.

"The children!" Millie cried.

"We'll sound the alarm and get them out first!" Moxxie said. "We can try to put out the fire once everyone is safe."

They burst through the doors and practically smashed the fire alarm. Then they hurried to get the children to safety. Solomon, Blitzo, and the other agents met them outside but when Solomon saw that the only kids with them were Angel and Vaggie he thought his heart would stop.

"Where are Alastor and Charlie?!" He shouted frantically.

"They weren't in their rooms!" Millie said with a scared tone. "We looked for them for as long as we could but Vaggie and Angel were inhaling so much smoke, we needed to get them out."

"I'm going back in to get them." Moxxie said.

"No! You stay here with the kids. I'm going back to find them and Husk you come with me! You're flame retardant!"

Solomon and Husk went into the building, searching desperately for the other two kids. Poor Solomon could barely breathe and it wasn't because of the smoke, it was because in that moment, all he could think about was what would happen if he was too late. What would he do if Charlie and Alastor turned up dead? How could he go on if that happened?

"Hey I found them!"

Solomon followed Husk's voice over to the burning debris. They worked together to remove said debris and found the boy and girl laying motionless underneath. Motionless but alive, and the girl was surrounded by fire yet she didn't burn at all. Nor did the boy laying close to her burn.

Husk carried Charlie while Solomon carried Alastor. When they reached the outside, Husk managed to snuff out Charlie's flame while the other agents used equipment to put out the fire on the building. When the chaos died down a doctor was immediately pulled to look over the kids. Vaggie and Angel had inhaled smoke but not enough to cause serious damage, Alastor surprisingly didn't sustain any burns or injuries, not even his hair was singed and the doctor said that he would wake soon. But Charlie, poor Charlie had spiked a dangerously high fever and needed immediate treatment.
