This chapter begins my take on how I think A Red Picket Fence should continue, and end. I've used pigwiz's notes more as a guide than verbatim. My ending will take a few chapters to conclude the story.

A Red Picket Fence

"What? I hired one of the maids to... What did I say... To distract him. No, to occupy him. Yeah, occupy him for a couple hours. What's wrong with that? Oh shit..." Sam said pensively.

"Oh shit indeed. You hired some slut to fuck him, you idiot!" Carly admonished as Melanie nodded in agreement.

"DAMN IT! Okay, we've got to go... Maybe she didn't fuck him. Or if she did, who cares. He's been fucking someone while he was gone. He's got some new tricks that he didn't have before." Sam said as the three women streamed out the door and got in the Lincoln.

Melanie started the car and began backing out of the driveway. Once she was on the street she began shaking her head as she mused out loud: "I can not believe you'd hire a whore to keep Freddie occupied. What were you thinking, sis?"

Sam didn't answer, she only shook her head slightly and stared out the windshield.

Chapter 18

Melanie piloted the restored, battleship sized, dark green, vintage Lincoln Town Car effortlessly along the crowded freeway. Not a word was spoken by any of the three women in the car. All of them had questions, none of them had the courage to ask.

Just what did he know.

"There, take the Aurora North turn off, Mel" Sam said, breaking the silence and a slight bit of tension in the car.

After a few moments Carly said, "Wait! You're passing it! There's the motel there on the left."

"No, that's not it. I met him at the Hillside Motel about a mile from here." Sam said as she turned to look at the motel Carly had mentioned.

"The Hillside? I met him at the one we just passed, the Park Place Motel." Carly said as she released her seat belt and scooted forward to the floor hump between the front seats.

The three women glanced at each other.

"Somebody is playing games with us." Melanie said.

A moment later, Sam said "There, take the frontage road. Turn right and head for the trees on the left. The Hillside Motel is inside that mini forest."

They pulled off the frontage road, and into the motel driveway. Sam pointed out the room while Melanie took a parking space close by.

Walking up to the room, they noticed the housekeeping cart was still pushed up against the front wall of Freddie's room.

"Maybe she's still inside." Carly said as she put her ear up to the front facing, large window. She shrugged her shoulders and shook her head indicating she hadn't heard anything.

Sam walked to the door, turned the doorknob, and pushed. It was locked.

Melanie moved over in front of Sam and looked at the lock. "This place uses a key lock, wow." She stated flatly. She opened her purse, produced a paper clip and bobby pin and slid it in the keyhole.

'CLICK'

She pushed the door open until it stopped after about a foot. Sam stepped beside Melanie and looked in. The door was blocked by a tipped over couch. The sisters both pushed the door further in, moving the couch enough for them to enter the dimly lit, gloomy motel room.

Sam felt the wall next to the door for, and found a light switch. A pair of wall sconces blinked on, illuminating the room. It was a wreck. Everything was everywhere, but not where it was supposed to be. The couch was on it's side, the mattress was pushed off the bed partially leaning against the opposite wall, The ancient avocado refrigerator was laying on it's side in the far corner of the room. The antique television had been pushed into the bathroom on it's rolling cart, seemingly saving it from destruction. There was a recurring buzzing coming from somewhere in front of the refrigerator. Carly found the old rotary dial phone, and placed the handset back on the phone which stopped the buzzing. The three women were briefly surveying the mess, when they noticed something. The room wasn't occupied.

Carly had already wiggled her way to the corner in front of the back of the fridge. Sam was crawling over the couch, trying to get into a small open bit of floor space between the couch and the bed frame. Melanie was obviously shocked as her mouth was hanging open and her eyes wide, staring at the mess while still standing in the doorway. Sam reached over the couch, took her sisters wrist and gently pulled her into the room.

"Mel, close the door." Sam said

Melanie did so, then found a chair shoved up against the wall behind the door and sat down, still obviously shocked at the condition of the room. Carly resumed her trek around the refrigerator, stopping in front of it and it's open door.

"Sam, Mel, come around here, please. Look what I've found." Carly said.

Sam clambered over the fridge followed by Melanie, looked inside and saw Lizzie, completely nude, a light bulbs small end pushed about half way up her cunt, covered in coffee grounds, sleeping inside the refrigerator. Sam grabbed Lizzie's ankle and shook. Lizzie tried to swat Sam's hand away while mumbling "Darlin', not again." Melanie grabbed Lizzie's hand and pulled her slightly up, so she was somewhat sitting up in the refrigerator. Lizzie blinked her eyes a few times before looking at Melanie, and then Sam.

"I been fucked cattywampus! I'm seein' double!" Lizzie exclaimed while trying to sit up a bit more, then banging her head on the inside wall of the fridge.

Carly reached out and grabbed Lizzie's other arm and, with Melanie's help, pulled her out of the fridge and stood the small, skinny, flat chested girl on her feet.

"Sho Nuff ole Buck kin fuck like a truck" Lizzie mumbled, swaying slightly while looking between Melanie and Sam.

"Well, I declare! You two is twins!" Lizzie said just before looking to her right, and seeing Carly.

Carly helped Lizzie sit down on the only thing not tipped over or out of place in the room. The box springs for the bed.

"Lookee here ladies, I'm not sure if ole Buck is ready for another fuck. But, if he is, it'll take all three of y'all. That boys a snatch poundin' machine! My twats shot!" Lizzie blurted out, looking down at herself, a bit wide eyed, while pulling the light bulb out of her self and screwing it back into the socket inside the fridge.

"Who's Buck?" Sam asked.

"Who is Buck? Why he's the feller you paid me to occupy his time. He shore kept my pie occupied, an before me he had you moanin' praises to his dick!" Lizzie said while standing in the nude in front of the three other women.

Sam blushed, and nodded.

"Well, where is ole Buck now?" Carly asked.

"I dunno, gota be 'round here sommairs. Him and that dick a his." Lizzie replied looking around the room. "He was over yonder, in that corner last I 'member. Help me put the mattress back on the box springs. Maybe him an' his dick is unner it". She continued.

Sam, Melanie and Carly looked at each other, then back to Lizzie. The three women seemed to share a group shrug, positioned themselves around the mattress, lifted, then flopped it back on the box springs. Turning back, they saw a wadded up pile of blankets and sheets with feet sticking out. They'd found Freddie. Sam grabbed a blanket edge and pulled. A naked Freddie rolled out of the tangled bedding yelling "WHAT THE!" while banging into the wall.

Fred shook his head and looked around him. Sitting on the bed was Melanie, Carly and Sam. All three of them looked grim. No smiles or 'glad to see you' expressions. They looked like they wanted to beat him with a baseball bat. He continued to take in the room situation when he noticed Lizzie leaning up against a corner, near the bathroom door.

"Hi Lizzie" Fred said, smiling.

"Back atcha, Buck." Lizzie grinned.

"Why do you have coffee all over you, Lizzie?" Fred asked.

"Well, the last place you dicked me was in the fridge, 'member? We musta knocked over the coffee tray with all the fixins" Lizzie replied.

"Oh yeah. The refrigerator. That was pretty cool!" Fred chuckled.

Lizzie grinned, then smiled back at him and nodded. Melanie Carly and Sam did not look amused.

"Well, I think I'm gonna take a shower. Coffee and fuckin' sounds good, but I'm all gritty, and they don't smell good together." Lizzie said while pushing the television cart out of the bathroom.

"Can I help you clean up this mess?" Fred asked Lizzie as she was walking back into the bathroom.

"Nah, I'm good. I'll git Corky, my lil cousin to help put the place back together. It's his ma that owns the motel, so we're good." Lizzie said.

"Well, let me give you some money for Corky then" Fred said.

"He'll be fine. I'll give him a blow job. That boy likes nothin' better n a blow job. So, you gonna be back tonight er tomorrow? Maybe we could mess up the room agin!" Lizzie gushed.

At this, Carly got up and nudged Lizzie into the bathroom, and closed the door. Lizzie yelled through the door, "Leave me your phone number, Buck!"

Sam and Melanie stood up as well, with Sam saying "Get your things together. You have some explaining to do, and it's best done at home".

They all heard the shower water turn on, and the shower curtain open and close.

Freddie dressed in the clothes he had been wearing, which were easy to find on top of the chest of drawers. After a brief search for his shoes, all four of them nudged furniture around looking for the rest of Freddie's things. Sam and Freddie stood the refrigerator back up to check under it, moved the couch away from the door for the same reason. Then they moved the television cart back in the corner while they all searched for items that had been missing from his dumped duffel bag. Just as they finished, with Freddie assuring them they had found it all, they heard the shower cut off. Carly, Sam and Melanie all thought it would be best to leave now.

Outside the room, the three women got in the huge Lincoln with Carly holding a door open for Freddie.

"No, I'll need to take the rental car. You gals go ahead and head home. I'll be right behind you." Fred said as he opened the door of the rental.

Melanie lowered the drivers window, calling out to Freddie, "That's fine, we'll follow you."

Fred shrugged, and noticed Sam and Carly nodding their heads.

Fred started the rental and began to back up. The motel room door opened and Lizzie appeared, still naked, ran up to Fred's car and knocked on the drivers window. Fred rolled down the window to see what Lizzie wanted. She leaned in the car and gave Fred a long, sultry kiss. Fred stuck his arm out of the car window, grabbed Lizzie's ass and squeezed her a couple times before shifting his hand to her pussy. He gave her slit a quick, but obviously satisfying rubbing. Lizzie moaned, then backed away and began waving goodbye.

Fred smiled, waved back and pulled out of the parking lot followed by his 'wives' in the Lincoln Town Car. Carly turned around, and looked out of the rear window and noticed Lizzie was still smiling and waving. Her thin, pale, nude body seemingly glowing in the afternoon sunshine.

Carly or Sam didn't say a word for a few minutes while Melanie followed Freddie's white rental car back onto Aurora Avenue. Mel seemed intent on her driving until she followed Freddie onto the freeway on ramp. "Damn it! I don't know if I want to kick him or kiss him!" Melanie said.

"I've been thinking about that." Carly said. "Like the old saying goes, 'you get more flies with honey than vinegar'. I think we should be nice to him. At least until we find out what he's been up to." She continued.

Melanie was silent, Sam asked: "What's your idea, Carls?"

Carly released her seat belt and scooted forward between the front seats. "Okay, first he needs to get cleaned up, he needs a shower and clean clothes. He's been, umm, he's been getting busy all day"

"Getting busy? He's been fucking like a nuclear powered dildo since this morning!" Sam interrupted.

"Exactly! He needs a shower! You ran into him this morning, when do you think was the last time he had something to eat, Sis?" Melanie asked.

"I saw him at Peets Coffee. He had a cup of coffee and half a bagel. That's all I know of, but I doubt if he's had time to have anything else to eat." Sam replied.

"Perfect! I took that meat loaf we made last week out of the freezer and put it in the fridge yesterday evening. It should be thawed out by now. Let's have him get cleaned up, get in clean clothes, feed him – he loves meat loaf – and make sure he gets some sleep. Then, while he's sleeping, we can decide what we're going to do with him tomorrow." Carly stated.

"What? Just let him off the hook? He ran out on us for nearly a year! I want answers, and I want to know what he knows. He made some remarks about me and Annie from the coffee shop and seems to be better informed than he was before." Sam fumed.

"I like her idea, Sam." Melanie said.

"Yes, for tonight we let him off the hook." Carly affirmed.

"Okay, but why do you think he's going to go right to sleep after he eats?" Sam asked.

"Because I will lace his dinner and drink with sleeping pills. A couple should do it. He'll eat, become groggy, and we'll suggest he lay down for a rest. We can put him in the downstairs guest room for now. While he's asleep, we will go through his bag and phone. Find out what we can before tomorrow when we talk with him." Carly replied.

"I like that idea!" Melanie said. "Me too! That will work for us!" Sam agreed.

They had just followed Freddie as he turned onto the street where they lived. Less than five minutes later, he made a 'U' turn and pulled up in front of their home. Melanie pulled the Lincoln into the driveway.

Freddie had been thinking about what he was going to do, and say to Melanie, Sam and Carly. The information Gibby had given him made him see the three gals in a different way, and it needed to be out in the open. Before anything else happened today, he wanted to get something to eat and get cleaned up. He smelled of sweat and sex. Not a bad combination, but it was getting old, fast. He wondered if he could con the gals into giving him food before he slowly ripped off the Band-Aid with the information Gibby had given him. He passed the house, turned around and parked on the street in front of the house just as the three women pulled into the driveway. He got out of the car, and was momentarily shocked that he couldn't find his duffel bag. Until he remembered he had seen Sam drop it into the trunk of the Lincoln.

Melanie, Sam and Carly were standing in the driveway, next to the car, waiting for him. Sam had his bag. He approached them at a leisurely walk, and stopped in front of them. He reached out for his bag, and smiled. Sam handed it to him, and smiled as well.

"Hungry? Carly asked. "We made some meat loaf last week. I can heat it up for us." She continued, smiling.

"Famished!" Freddie replied. He was beginning to wonder what the gals had in mind. He certainly had not expected this.

"Well, come in then." Carly said as she climbed the two steps, leading to the kitchen door at the side of the house. She unlocked it and stepped in the house while holding the door open. Freddie entered, followed by Melanie and Sam.

Freddie turned on the overhead light with the wall switch and looked around, then moved towards the kitchen table and sat his bag on it.

"Have you changed anything? It looks exactly the same." He asked.

"Not a thing." Carly said as she turned on the oven.

"You need a shower." Melanie said while picking up, then handing Freddie his duffel bag. "Go take a shower. Dinner will be ready by the time you're cleaned up." Melanie continued.

Fred noticed Melanie hadn't smiled, but she hadn't frowned either. He nodded his head, took his bag and made his way through the front room, down the hall and into the bathroom.

Sam followed him a moment later, making sure he was in the shower. Carly was grinning as she set the oven temperature to reheat the meat loaf and closed the oven door. Carly then reached into a corner cupboard, retrieved a small, gray marble mortar and pestle, dropped two sleeping pills into the mortar and began crushing and grinding them with the pestle until they were a fine powder.

Carly scooped the powder into a drinking glass and sat it on the counter while Sam set the table for all of them. Melanie had opened a can of green beans, poured them into a small pot, and turned on and lit the stove top. Sam had picked out a few potatoes from the pantry and was peeling and slicing them into small, thick wedges.

"Now, we wait." Melanie said, with a bit of a grin, as she placed a frying pan on the stove top, added a bit of oil, and began placing the potato wedges in the pan.

"Wait for what?" Carly asked.

"Wait for him to get out of the shower, eat and then sleep. This is your idea, Carly." Melanie said rolling her eyes.

"Well, I know that!" Carly exclaimed.

"Now listen, this is the exact reason Freddie said he left. We were all being grade 'A' bitches. So Mel, be polite. You too, Carly. I have no idea where he's been or what is going to happen, but I'd like to find out. Then we can decide if we're going to keep him or what ever. We won't be able to figure out anything if we start acting bitchy or possessive at this point." Sam admonished.

"You're right, Sis. Sorry Carly." Melanie said.

"Yes, you're on the mark, Sam. I'm sorry too." Carly replied.

"Yeah, we were acting like a bunch of school girls when he left. I'm going to check if he's out of the shower." Sam said.

Melanie nodded, and checked the green beans and potatoes. They were done. She turned off the stove top. Carly checked the meat loaf. "Almost ready." She said.

Sam returned to the kitchen, followed by Freddie. "Sit in your chair, everything is almost ready." Sam said to Freddie.

"What would you like to drink?" Carly asked.

"Water is fine, thanks" Freddie replied. Sam and Mel asked for water as well. Carly took the glass with the sleeping pills, and added some ice and water from the fridge. Melanie began dishing up potatoes and green beans while Sam checked the meat loaf again and saw it was ready. She placed it on the stove top and began slicing portions off the loaf. Carly served Freddie and Sam their water at their places at the table. Retrieving two more glasses from the cupboard, she filled them with ice water and placed them on the table as well.

Sam and Melanie brought their plates, and served. Freddie's plate had two slices of meat loaf. Melanie smiled and said "You're looking a little skinny." Freddie returned her smile.

"Well, shall we have a chat?" Freddie asked once they were all seated.

Carly, Melanie and Sam all looked at him. "No, let's eat first. Then we can go in the front room and talk." Carly said, while grinning.

Fred nodded, picked up his water, drank about half the glass, and began to eat. He was starving, and finished his meal, with seconds of everything even before Sam. None of them had said a word while they ate. Once they were all finished, All four of them helped clear the table. Freddie began to fill the sink to wash the dishes. Melanie stopped him, saying "No, let's go into the front room. We'll clean up later."

"Okay, but can I make some coffee? I'm feeling a little drowsy." Freddie said.

"You three go get comfy. I'll make coffee for everyone. I'd like some too." Carly said.

Melanie and Sam agreed, and followed Freddie to the front room. Freddie had sat down next to the front facing window in the dark brown leather wing back chair. Melanie and Sam sat on the light brown couch across the room from Freddie. Carly came in, sitting on the coffee table in front of the couch, facing Freddie.

"Coffee will be done in a moment." She said.

It was obvious Freddie was having trouble keeping his eyes open. Sam asked: "Are you tired? Would you like to nap for a bit?"

"You know. Yeah, I would." Freddie slurred. The three women grinned at each other.

Melanie and Sam each took an arm and helped Freddie up, out of the chair. They had to nearly carry him into the guest room. Carly ran ahead and turned down the bed. Mel and Sam laid him down and began stripping off his shoes, socks, pants and shirt. All three of them moved him into the center of the bed as gently as they could, and pulled the covers over him. He was already sound asleep.

Sam closed the window curtain. The room was now nearly dark.

Quietly closing the guest room door, they met back in the kitchen, each pouring themselves a cup of coffee, and sat down at the kitchen table.

"How long will he be out, Carls?" Melanie asked.

"At least twelve hours,, I'd think. Especially since he really must be tired after all the exercise today." Carly replied.

"I'll get the bag." Sam said as she took a sip of coffee, got up and turned toward the hallway.

Melanie nodded at Sam, took a sip of coffee and looked at the shiny red clock hanging over the window. "It just is six, so you figure he'll be out until around six tomorrow morning?" Melanie asked as Sam returned.

Sam placed the duffel bag on the table, sat back down and took another sip of coffee.

"At the earliest, I'd say. He could sleep until eight or nine tomorrow, unless something wakes him up." Carly replied.

Melanie nodded as Sam unzipped the bag, and began placing the contents on the table.

"We should probably all take tomorrow off work." Carly said.

Sam and Melanie nodded in agreement as they all began to examine the items from Freddie's duffel bag.
