Iris
Felicity, Caitlin, Kara, and me were at the salon.
"Iris, you are really glowing." Felicity commented.
I took the flute of Champagne from her.
"Aw."
"Wait. It's pregnant women who glow. Brides blush." Caitlin corrected.
"Right. Blushing Bride I can do. The other one, not just yet."
"Oh, it doesn't get better than this, ladies." Felicity expressed.
"I know. It feels so good to just be away from it all. Everything." Kara agreed.
"Where's Mon-El?" I questioned.
She sighed.
"You know what? It's a long story but thank you for letting me bring my Sister as my plus one."
"Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I'm actually really excited to meet her."
"Me too."
The electricity crackled as the manicurist was doing Kara's nails.
The manicurist gasped.
She gasped.
"Uh... Oh, I'm sorry. I should have warned you. I take a lot of Keratin." Kara lied.
"Super strong nails." Felicity agreed.
"So, um... you and Oliver? You guys next, you think to walk down the aisle?" I questioned.
"Maybe once the City is not being attacked and Oliver is no longer under indictment and he's spent enough time with his son, who is still mourning the loss of his mother."
"So, any day now." Caitlin guessed.
"Any day now."
She chuckled.
"Well, cheers, Iris, to your big day." Caitlin toasted.
"To your big day."
"Cheers." We all said.
"Thanks, girls."
"Cheers to you."
Oliver
"You know, I mean, I've been in love with Iris since I was ten. How am I supposed to fit all that love into one vow?" Barry questioned.
"I've already written 38 pages, single spaced." He pointed out.
"You could always speed-read it." I suggested.
"No. No one would understand me."
I opened the changing room curtain.
"I don't know what to do. Man, I need help."
"Barry, when you're up there and you look into her eyes..."
"Damn." Barry commented.
"The words will come. And if they don't, the look on your face will tell her everything that she needs to know."
He nodded his head.
"You clean up nice, my friend."
Barry chuckled.
"Thanks. Yeah. You too."
"I can't believe you're really doing this."
"Yeah, man. What can I say? I got the girl."
He smiled.
"And so did you. You ever think about making it official?"
"Again?" I inquired.
"Yeah. Um... I think that with everything going on right now, it's just not the right time."
Barry nodded his head.
"You love her?" He questioned.
"I love her so much."
"Put a ring on her. People like us are always going to be getting into trouble, right? Having someone we love by our side just makes getting out of that trouble that much easier. We have something to fight for."
Barry sighed.
"If I can have my happy ending, so can you. I promise."
"I'm supposed to be the all-knowing mentor."
"I have been known to catch up." He joked.
I shook my head.
"What's wrong?"
I walked pass Barry.
"You didn't react to my joke."
I continued walking away.
"That's fine. He got it."
Jax
"I call it "The Calm after the Firestorm."
"What is it?" I questioned.
"It's efficient decelerating serum." Wells answered.
Cisco handed it to Grey.
He stammered over his words.
"It's a cure?" Grey inquired.
"We've spent months trying to devise a solution to neutralize the Firestorm Matrix." He pointed out.
"Uh... Separate ourselves without blowing up." I explained.
"Or switching bodies. We read your notes. Although, why you wouldn't want to switch bodies with him is beyond me." Wells told us.
"What Squidward here means to say is, we took the data you extrapolated from Newton and Curie and Galileo..."
"Hacks. Every one of them."
"And we ran it through a Conway class nucleo-dynamic synthesizer. Hold your applause. I only built it myself."
"First off, nobody was clapping. Second, that explains why it couldn't splice a proton for a neutrino field."
"I'll splice the proton from your neutrino field."
"Fields." I've got a million fields." Wells corrected Cisco.
"Really? Are all your fields this unbearable?"
"Gentlemen, we appreciate your efforts. But how do you account for the destabilization of the Firestorm Matrix?"
"We trick it." They answered at the same time.
"Quark spheres. They'll convince the Matrix that our genetic codes are connected. When, in actuality, they're not. That's genius."
"And you're sure this will work? No powers for either of us?" I questioned.
"Guaranteed to put out the fire in Firestorm."
"One of you takes it..."
"Boom. You're back to your old selves."
"No offense."
"Uh... Just to be safe, I'd like to have Gideon run some tests. Calculate dosage."
Cisco nodded his head.
"We could take this directly after the Ceremony."
Grey stammered over his words.
"I can't wait to tell Clarissa and Lily that I'm finally coming home. This is fantastic news, isn't it?"
"Yeah. It's great. It's everything we wanted. So, thanks, guys." I thanked.
"You're welcome." They said at the same time.
Dark Arrow
The flag was pulled down.
"Hail victory!"
"Hail Fuhrer!"
I walked off the platform.
I approached our Scientist.
"The rebels' technology is impressive. It's a good thing you stopped them when you did."
"Can you make it work?"
"Yes. But I need time to test it."
I turned to face him.
"To ensure they haven't set a trap."
Overgirl
I hovered behind Oliver.
"You have one day."
Dark Arrow
"You heard her."
I walked away.
Stein
I was examining the tube under the microphone.
"Almost time for the Rehearsal Dinner." Caitlin informed, walking in.
"Of course. I was just finishing up some personal work."
I stood up.
"Come in, my dear."
She walked in.
"How are you doing?"
"I'm okay."
Caitlin sat in one of the spin chairs in here.
"Yes. The last Wedding we attended together..."
"Was mine."
"Ronnie was such a great man. I should know. I might have spent more time with him than you did."
"He was the best."
"Hmm."
"I think he'd be so happy for you though. You know Cisco and Wells needed my help to come up with that cure, right?"
"Of course, my darling. Caitlin, I saw your brilliance written all over it."
She chuckled.
"So, what will you do when you're no longer Firestorm?"
"Be a better husband, I hope."
Caitlin raised her eyebrows.
"And father. There's a project I promised Lily we would work on together. And most importantly, I'll be spending time with my grandson. I plan to regale him with thousands of bedtime stories from all my adventures and I intend to teach him Chess."
"That sounds lovely."
I nodded my head.
"We better get going."
She stood up.
"Joe said that he'd lock up anyone who missed his speech."
"Oh, you better run along."
I kissed Caitlin on the forehead.
"I'll be right with you."
"Okay."
She walked out.
