The next night, the whole clan with their new members awoke, roaring and stretching in their usual way. Brooklyn stretched out his arms, eyes glowing. As they settled, he saw he was still with his clan, and a relieved sigh escaped him.

A hand took his and Brooklyn spotted Kita, making him grin shyly with love. She gave Brooklyn one back. "Good evening, my love." Brooklyn went to hug and kiss her too. Goliath went up to them. "I believe we need to have you tell your story of your journey now, Brooklyn while we eat," he stated.

Brooklyn's ears fell but the gargoyle knew he couldn't wait anymore, and soon Kita and Kaori would meet Puck for the first time too when they fixed his tail. He saw his small brother chatting lively to Kaori while going inside, Broadway moving to the kitchen to get breakfast ready.

The clan went into the dining area where Elisa was there waiting, smiling at the sight of Brooklyn, who grinned back at her. "Hi, Elisa," he greeted, Elisa coming to give him her own hug. Brooklyn was glad to be with her again, the one that felt like a mother to him. They all took their seats, Hudson next to Brooklyn and Kita while Broadway soon brought out some of the food.

Goliath watched Brooklyn with a gentle gaze, who seemed nervous and saddened to tell his story. "What happened while you were gone, Brooklyn? How did you meet her and escape the poachers?"

Brooklyn felt awkward again, not wanting to tell about how Sasha died and that he killed a human to avenge her, but Kita gave him a peck on the cheek to encourage him.

Eyes watering, Brooklyn began to tell his story, starting with how he had been feeling lonely and wanted some air, only to be cornered and caught by those horrible gargoyle and animal poachers.

"His name was Yegor. He owned an animal auction in Russia near Siberia. I was taken all the way there and dumped into a cage." Brooklyn said shakily, remembering those terrible days, voice shaking. Hudson was stunned, and Angela looked angry at how those humans could imprison and sell off innocent animals like trophies.

Goliath watched in concern. "What was the weather like all the way there?" he wondered.

Gulping, Brooklyn replied. "It was so cold, Goliath. Colder than the winters here in Manhattan. It hit me in my bones. The only thing keeping me warm was a ragged blanket since they tied my wings." The clan all growled when hearing that, mad at that cruel human for tying up their member's wings that were a part of him.

Kita stroked his shoulder comfortingly when Hudson spoke. "I'm still amazed ye were able to survive the cold like that, lad." The elder said in a gentle tone.

Brooklyn nodded. Despite it being summer right now he was glad that it wasn't cold anymore. "Me too. But the thing worse than being cold was that they starved me, called me a demon, and this." He held up his tail, shaking more from seeing it. Lexington and Broadway still didn't like seeing their brother's tail in such horrible shape.

"How did you get it broken?" Elisa asked in interest.

It made Brooklyn shut his eyes, gritting his teeth. "Yegor broke it off while I was stone after threatening to mutilate me if I didn't behave for the next auction, making me afraid of my ability to turn to stone." Lex's eyes glowed in pretty big rage that someone had the nerve to use their stone sleep ability against them, still remembering the massacre.

Goliath narrowed his eyes too. "No human should make you fear your ability, Brooklyn. Sure it makes us vulnerable during the day but we shouldn't have to fear it. I'm just relieved you hadn't received worse. How did you get out of the auction?"

Brooklyn's eyes flickered when remembering Sasha, wiping them. "A human woman named Sasha. She stopped some mean buyers from throwing things at me." He said shakily, Kita keeping a comforting arm around him to keep him steady. "After outbidding another man named Yuri, Sasha took me to her home where I healed for a time."

The red gargoyle then swallowed, heart thumping, his clan watching and listening in concern. "Then… things went bad. The man Yuri who wanted to buy me stormed into Sasha's house to get me back. He threatened that if he couldn't have me then no one would, trying to shoot me dead."

Broadway, Hudson, and Goliath's faces all looked appalled and downright furious at the idea of a human threatening one of their own even further in such a horrendous manner.

"But Sasha jumped in front of the gun that shot a bullet at me, and… and… saved my life, but sacrificed…" More hot tears fell down, seeing the memories come up again, hugging himself. Hudson's angry face relaxed and went over to help Kita soothe Brooklyn's tearful emotions. "Oh, lad, I'm so sorry," the elder said gently and sadly. The others too felt remorse for Brooklyn in having lost a friend who died helping him.

Brooklyn struggled to pull himself together, trying to continue his tale. "After… that… I was forced to travel by myself through the Siberian wilderness. It had gotten colder. Was tough going through the snow, until a bear attacked, chasing me onto a pond that was frozen, causing me to fall into it. Another man rescued me from perishing in the cold waters, but I had received hypothermia, having to remain at his cabin and get better again. I couldn't trust him at first after the trauma I endured."

Everyone there looked understanding of what Brooklyn had probably been going through. Eventually, he also told them of how Viktor helped him get across the Sea of Japan he glided over to Japan, encountering the Ishimura Clan. He soon began to feel a bit better after glancing at his girl. "And which is how I met Kita. She helped me gain control of my traumatized emotions. I've also been able to prove my love for her and she was willing to return home with me."

Kita gave a beautiful smile from his words, proud of him to be able to speak out about his journey. The clan all began to give words of congratulations for Brooklyn and Kita, mostly to Brooklyn for being strong to be able to return home, even after losing a friend, which showed how truly devoted to his clan he was.

Owen showed up with Xanatos and Fox then, the others turning around. Fox held baby Alex in her arms. "What a truly moving story, Brooklyn. And from what I hear, you wish your tail to be fixed?"

Brooklyn nodded shyly, right as the man changed into the fey. Kita had gasped, despite being told about Puck earlier, it still stunned her to see a magic man in front of them.

Puck grinned at the two new females in the clan. "How lovely to meet you ladies. I've wondered when I would meet other gargoyles outside Avalon or Manhattan."

Both Kaori and Kita smiled shyly from his compliment. "N-nice to meet you too, Puck," Kita replied. Puck nodded. "Me and Alex will practice the spell and let you know when it is ready."

Brooklyn thanked Puck for helping but he was nervous. Would it really work? He didn't want to live with this for the rest of his life. Goliath saw his nervousness and smiled. "Don't worry, even if it doesn't work, I'm sure we will find another way to help. We're just glad you didn't lose anything too big." The beaked gargoyle swallowed at the thought of losing his wings.

Once breakfast was over, the others got ready for patrol but Brooklyn himself still felt scared of going out there in case those poachers were still roaming around. Hudson was there after the others left. "It is ok if you want to stay here, lad until you're brave enough to be out with us. Rest after such a long journey."

Brooklyn smiled, nodding, but hoped that Kaori would have her best first patrol with his clan while he and Kita got to hang out.

Kita gave him another hug and kiss. "How about we go in and watch a movie?" That brightened his spirits. "Sure, haven't watched one in ages. I can show you the ones we got." The young couple went inside to relax and enjoy themselves.

….

While out in the city, the clan was taking Kaori on patrol with them, Angela happy to have another female to patrol with. Lexington had kept watching her the whole time while Goliath told them their assignments.

The lavender gargoyle noted how Lex stared at Kaori and he got an idea. "Lexington, you can be the one to show Kaori how we do patrols in Manhattan." He said with a smile. Lex gulped, finding himself nodding. Goliath actually trusting him to show this new girl their home? It felt like a big honor!

Goliath told them they could go to Times Square and Central Park, the two most interesting places in the city. Kaori was feeling excited about that. "Come on, Kaori!" Lex called out with a grin, gliding off towards the locations. She giggled at his excitement, gliding after him. The two webbed-winged gargoyles flew side by side, Lexington marveling at Kaori's amazing gliding. She clearly had talent.

They soon landed on a building in Times Square, Kaori's eyes lighting up at the sight of all the beautiful buildings. "Oh, it's so big!" She gasped.

Lex chuckled at her reaction. "Well, this is what we protect every night." He said in a proud tone. Kaori couldn't quite believe it, stunned that they moved from protecting one small castle to a huge city that stretches on for miles.

From the lights of the streets, Lex could see it light up the pretty orange skin of Kaori and how her hair flowed in the night wind. Her eyes sparkled too, and she definitely was different from Angela.

Soon, the friends heard a scream of fear from someone in trouble. Lexington glared at the sight of a woman being mugged by some evil brutes. Kaori gasped in horror for the woman, looking at Lex, who grinned. "It is in our blood to protect those in trouble all over here," The olive gargoyle said confidently, diving down to save the woman.

The thugs were about to harm her further when they felt something heavy but small tackle them and growling too. The woman gasped and ran away, not wanting to be hurt in this fight. Lex punched two of the men, dodging bullet blasts from the leader.

"Stop moving, little demon!" roared the leader.

Kaori knew she couldn't let Lex get hurt. Her eyes glowing red, she roared and charged the leader, tackling the guy to the ground. He was startled at the appearance of another but wound up being knocked unconscious. This was Lexington's first time seeing her fight and he was impressed, heart throbbing further.

"Uh, thanks," Lexington replied, rubbing the back of his neck, cheeks going red.

Kaori was panting but her eyes were excited. "That was great! I can't wait to do more patrols with you!"

Lexington nodded. "Me too, Kaori. But I want to ask, how do you feel about machines? They're kinda my thing," he said shyly.

Kaori instantly replied. "I love machines, Lex! But had always been interested in American tech ever since coming!"

The olive gargoyle grinned. "I'll show you after our patrol." He promised, the two soaring up into the air together, relishing each other's company.

….

Three hours to sunrise, Puck had managed to finish teaching Alex the healing spell, grateful that Brooklyn didn't need any big body parts replaced, as the clan had returned. He called them all into the living room.

"Attention: Alex is ready to give Brooklyn his treatment," Puck stated in a proud voice, ruffling the little guy's hair. Brooklyn sat on the couch, his tail out and holding Kita's hand as well as Hudson's. He was so nervous. What if it didn't work?

Puck walked over, placing the kid on the ground by the tail. Alex cooed sadly seeing it. Broadway glared at Puck. "This better heal my brother," he growled in a stern voice. Puck grinned innocently. "I'm sure it should. Do it now, kid."

Brooklyn swallowed, Hudson rubbing his shoulder. "Take deep breaths," The elder assured, Kita humming to him gently. Brook didn't want to watch as the child began the spell, Puck helping. Brooklyn gritted his teeth, feeling a small tingly pinching feeling on his tail like something was growing. He didn't open his eyes while the feeling remained, struggling not to tremble but he shivered, not having trusted their magic since the Coldsteel incident, which still haunted him.

Soon Alex was done, cooing happily at his accomplishment. Puck cleared his throat. "You can look now, Red One. I believe your precious tail is now in order again."

The red male peeked open his eyes, glancing down. He gasped softly, a smile showing, seeing his tail back to the way it was again. A little sore but back to normal! Kita was amazed at seeing all that magic at work, and all from a little kid no less.

Brooklyn glanced at Puck with tears in his eyes. "Th-Thank you Puck, and Alex. I have missed my tail. It feels better now."

The fey man shrugged. "Think nothing of it. Just don't let yourself get into this kind of situation again." That made him feel embarrassed but nodded. "I'll try."

Goliath came to give Brooklyn a comforting hug of relief, glad his Second's tail was back to normal. Brooklyn nuzzled his head into his leader, the rest of the clan around him to comfort and congratulate him on the healing. It made him cry in happiness along with Kita giving him another loving kiss on the side of his beak, happy to be among his family, and never wanted to be alone ever again.

I know Lexington doesn't have a girl in the main canon but this is my canon. He deserved a girl who is as smart as him and has his wing design, and loves kids.

Going to keep writing it, and hoping my readers will still like my story.
