Singularity F: II
3rd Person Pov
Subaru's eyes watched the vampire's every move. 'There's no way she'd let such a golden opportunity at killing me or my Master go that easily…just what is she up to?'
Bzzt! "Servant Signature! Right on you!" The sudden sound of a…radio, attracts the humans attention. A holographic image appears above the Master's wrist, a concerned Romani is what is shown.
"We know that already! What we need is information on that woman!" Olga's patience has run thin, fear and anger clear in her voice.
"Eh? Oh, um. She's an assassin, and her spirit core is really messy. That's all." He says the last part with resignation and fear.
"Wha-!" Subaru interrupts her before she can go off on the poor doctor.
"Her name is Elsa Granhiert, also known as the Bowel Hunter. Unfortunately, I've had the displeasure of meeting her many times." His eyes had never left the assassin's figure, who had up to this point, not made a single move. "I'll be completely honest with everyone here, unless anyone here can kill her continuously, we are doomed."
His statement shocks everyone present, except Elsa, who giggles in her usual sultry way. "Fufufu…Giving up already? That's no fun." Subaru merely gives her a frown, which only serves to excite the Bowel Hunter even more.
'Damn it…She's sizing us up. Who knows how much longer we have until we start fighting.' Looking back at his companions, he finds them quivering in fear, even the Director is shaking. The Master being the worst out of the three. 'If only she were closer, I could crush her heart with Invisible Providence.'
His deep thinking is interrupted as Mashu finally speaks up. "S-Shielder engaging in combat with the Assassin Servant, Elsa Granhiert!" Rushing in head first, Mashu is somehow able to keep up with the assassin's attacks. Subaru, who at this point was just staring at them fighting, decides to support the lilac haired shielder.
Using Guiltywhip against the corrupted assassin, only a few of his attacks land, and those that do barely affect Elsa. 'This isn't right…none of my attacks would ever land against her, is she weaker as a servant?' Dodging out of the way of a throwing knife, Subaru and Mash continue their battle against the corrupted Elsa.
"Idiot! Help them out!" Ritsuka hears the director yell at him from his side.
"Huh? Um…Director? I think you might be overestimating my own capabilities."
Staring at her subordinate for a few seconds, Olga just lets out a breath before she pops a blood vessel. "Haa…Your Mystic Code. It has magecraft woven into it, I'm sure even a civilian Master like you can do it."
"Mystic Code? Oh! You mean my clothes? I thought it was a bit weird when they called it that once they gave it to me…but uhh, how do I do magic?" He asks with a unsure chuckle, he quickly stops laughing as soon as he realizes the director's expression.
If he wasn't her only hope of defeating the enemy servant, she would have already strangled him. 'Remember Olga…Breathe in, then out.' "Master Candidate 48, do you know what Mana Circuits are?"
"Mana…Circuits? Why are we talking about electrical currents now?" Nevermind, there was no hope, she now knew today was her last day on earth.
Finally getting the whip tangled around Elsa's arm, Subaru interrupts her attack, finally giving Mash a chance to attack.
Uppercutting the assassin with her shield, Elsa is sent back by the sheer force behind the attack.
Crashing into a nearby light pole, Elsa uses it as a platform to jump back into battle, engaging Subaru this time. Dodging to his left, Subaru narrowly avoids being sliced in half. Unfortunately, he couldn't dodge her next attack.
A stab to the gut which would have weakened him severely is blocked by his arm. "Gah-rk!" Biting down his yell of pain, he grabs the assassin by the arm and throws her over his shoulder. Now with Elsa on the ground, using his slightly better strength, he pins her with his whip and feet. "Invisible Provide-!"
A sudden explosion at his feet causes him to be blown away, landing on his back a couple meters away. Quickly getting back on his feet despite the pain, Subaru prepares himself to fight again.
Expecting to see Mash and Elsa duking it out, he is surprised by the sight he sees once the smoke clears. A now non corrupted, bloody Elsa starts fading away into golden motes. "Oh? My, what a surprise, you were able to get rid of the mud. Mou~ That's no fun, I wasn't even able to inspect your bowels." With that, the assassin disappears.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Subaru pats himself down for any unnoticed injuries.
Limping towards his allies, Subaru leans on his master. "Sorry Master, not really feeling the best after the explosion at my feet." Ritsuka gives him an unsure look as he helps the Saber stand.
"Are you sure you should be standing, then?"
"Thankfully my Battle Continuation has me covered, but uhh…what was it that exploded at my feet?" Ritsuka doesn't give him a verbal answer, instead he just looks in the Director's direction. Olga Marie looks away in embarrassment under their stares.
Letting out another sigh, Subaru doesn't bother with getting annoyed. "Can I ask why Elsa suddenly disap-grk!" Hunching over, Subaru feels something vile rise up his throat, vomiting out a disgusting black substance. "Bleh! Wha-What the hell was that?!"
"Let me check!" Hearing the man over the Hologram again, Subaru turns toward the bracelet on his Master's wrist. "Ah, there we go…h-how is that possible?!"
"What?! What is it? Spit it out Romani!" Olga yells impatiently at the Doctor.
"Ah, R-Right sorry. Basically what Mr Natsuki just threw up was a whole bunch of different curses. Honestly, he's lucky to even be alive after having them inside him." The Doctor gives his findings.
'I could've died?!' "Wait…then what kept me alive?"
"Hm…That I don't know." The Doctor is seen fiddling around with something offscreen for a short while, until he comes back into frame with a proud smile. "According to Magi*Mari, it probably has to do with that thing on your arm and leg."
"Magi*Mari, huh…No wait, not important. Are you talking about the cursed dragon blood in my arm?" He asks, taking the bandage off his arm, showing his black arm to everyone.
The information came as a shock to everyone, even Ritsuka, who didn't quite understand the implications of having dragon's blood. "You have Dragon's Blood in your body!? How are you so…so weak?"
"I'm not sure if there's a difference, but this is cursed dragon blood, so there might be a difference. Also, while it may be true, that doesn't mean you should say it." He replies, crossing his arms in mock anger.
"Um…I've been meaning to ask, but who exactly are you?" Ritsuka asks, his confusion very evident. "I mean, you told us your name, but the Director told me that servants are people who left a mark on the world, and I've never heard of anyone named Subaru Natsuki. You're also wearing clothes from our time, so I had to have heard of you."
'Guess there are a lot of inconsistencies.' Letting out a sigh, Subaru beckons them to follow. "I'll explain along the way."
"Huh? Where are you going?"
"Away from here, I'd rather find somewhere safe, than be ambushed again." They don't argue as he leads them away.
Subaru Pov
"Like I said, my name is Subaru Natsuki." Fire, a whole lot of it, guess we'll find another way. "My parents are Kenichi and Naoko Natsuki, I was born and raised in Japan. Up until sometime mid 2013, I was completely normal shut-in neet."
'Are those skeletons?...Ah, whatever. Not the weirdest thing I have seen.' Helping Mash however I can, we soon make quick work of them. "Then one day, on my way back from the conbini, I'm suddenly transported to another world."
"What?" Now they're looking at me strangely.
"Great. I'm stuck with two idiots."
"Hey! I'm being serious. One second I'm on earth, end then poof! I'm in the Capital of Lugnica."
"La-goo-nickuh?" Eh, close enough.
After a few more minutes of walking and explaining, we find a small Cafe that looks habitable. "So yeah, that's basically what happened before I came here." Once I'm done giving my story, excluding anything about Return by Death, I am met with incredulous stares.
"Ignoring the fact that you didn't die, how exactly do you explain how we summoned you? Actually, let's also ignore the fact that your story sounds completely made up." Wow, harsh, but I don't think I can say anything to that without earning a death glare.
"..." I choose to stay silent, not having an answer to her questions. But, she seems to let it go. 'I'm not cut out for this…'
Ritsuka Pov
"Senpai? Are you alright?" I hear Mash ask from my right.
'Gah! Too close!' Moving my head back slightly, I try not to show the blush on my face.
"...Senpai?"
"Huh? Uh yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit shaken, not everyday that you find out about magic being real. Oh, and dimensional travel too." I say that last part while looking at the Saber Servant I summoned.
"I suppose it would be a bit strange for a normal person to suddenly find out that the world is a lot more…complex than what they originally thought…But, even I have my doubts about Natsuki-san's story. Nonetheless, he doesn't seem to be a bad person."
'She's right, he's been nothing but nice to us.' Feeling my exhaustion hit me, I close my eyes as I get some well needed rest.
The Doctor was able to find out the whereabouts of the anomaly, it's near the Temples across the river. Wherever that is.
Subaru is leading the way, with Mash holding our flank, leaving the Director and I in the middle. We're halfway through the bridge, thankfully we haven't encountered any skeletons or God forbid, servants since yesterday. But that doesn't seem to fix my uneasiness.
'No…I shouldn't tempt fate.' Clearing my head of such thoughts, I continue onwards keeping an eye on my surroundings.
"We have been lucky to not encounter any enemies." Director! "But, that doesn't mean we can let our guard down."
"Oh, for the love of..." I hear Subaru mutter in front of us. "I really didn't want to have to say this, but you just raised a flag!"
"Huh? Raised a flag? Nevermind, it's probably something idiotic. Listen Saber, if you believe I have tempte-" It wasn't until the last second, but I saw a shining light approach us from where we were going. I was unable to process that I was pushed back, only seeing Subaru cover the Director as the shining light engulfed them.
Subaru Pov
Feeling my left side completely yell out at me in pain, no, that's not right. The lack of my left side entirely was the cause of such extreme pain. Yet, I didn't cry or yell out in pain, I just laid here motionless on the ground. The smell of burnt human flesh threw me down further the ladder of despair. '...I tried…and yet…'
"-npai! Please, wake up! Senpai! Senpai! SENPAI!" …She sounds so much like her…
'My connection with the Master, it's gone.' That could only mean one thing. 'I…failed.' Feeling my body start to fade from my lack of an anchor and my sustained injuries, I am forced to hear the shielder cry over our now dead Master. 'I…hate this…' My life as a hero of humanity finally reaches its end.
"...Lo…ou…"
"Servant Class, Berserker. Subaru, just Subaru." I say…but, I never said a word. I was like a spectator in my own body.
'What the hell is happening?!'
To Be Continued…
Sorry for all the fucking scene and pov changes.
Yes. This will be a multiple different Subaru's in one fic. Got to make it interesting somehow.
Now, Servant Card, Subaru(Saber) Part 2
My Room Convo 15 (If you have any genderbended servants)
Master, I think there's something wrong with the summoning system. Huh?! You can't just call it a 'Historical Inaccuracy', everytime we summon a misgendered hero!
My Room Convo 16 (If you summon a Japanese servant)
I know them…I think. I remember being taught about them in school, I'm sure of it. (I actually have no clue!)
About a certain hobby
Master. You know what this means, right? No one can ever find out about this, got it? You and I both share this hobby, and no one else needs to know. We're taking this to our graves.
About Subaru (Berserker)
How did this..? I…I'm sorry. I know it doesn't mean much, but I hope you can find happiness once more. Even if it isn't from the people you once cared about.
More My Room Convos will be added as I progress in the story. Suggestions are always welcome.
Oh and hello, welcome back. I just had to dig this story out of its grave.
Someone told me that Subaru in Fgo is redundant, since the concept of someone being weak (Ritsuka), is already a thing. To that I say, blow me you ass. You legit killed my motivation.
Thanks for the support on this story, and I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
