"I'm almost disappointed in you Mandolorian do you know that ? The way you handled yourself earlier I pegged you as being cleverer than this. But I had a feeling. I saw how you reacted when I took that away." Ktar motioned to the rifle on the table. "Yes. As much as I'm disappointed, I did have a feeling. I've been waiting for you to come back. As soon as you entered my base I've been monitoring you every step of the way..." Ktar sneered.
Mando stood motionless in silence.
"Got nothing to say Mandolorian ? What? Did you think I wouldn't have surveillance everywhere? It's not luck that got you this far, it was entirely my doing..."
"So what happens now ?" Din asked.
"Well. I did warn you earlier. I fear that my patience with you has finally run out. If its any consolation my men will make it quick. Do you have any last..." Dec Ktar started to say.
"I know you don't have the crystal. I worked it out." Mando interjected calmly, cutting her off.
Ktar fell silent.
"And if I worked it out, then it's only a matter of time before Thawn works it out too, and what will happen to you and your base then ? Nothing good I'll wager. I'm guessing that's why you wanted us to send him your message earlier...to keep up the charade ?" He continued, his voice steady.
Ktar raised an eyebrow, bemused. "Maybe you're not as predictable as I thought Mandolorian...maybe I was right about you after all eh?"
Mando did not answer, behind his helmet his eyes shifted to the left and right, eyeing up each of the figures in front of him, waying up his options.
Four weapons pointed at point blank range. I'm not sure I like my chances...keep talking, make her react. Change the odds...
"There's only one thing I am curious about..." His words cut through the silence.
Ktar's lips curled up at one side for a second "I will humour you. I may even answer you. Let's call it the final wish of a condemned man. So tell me...What are you curious about ? Better make it a good question though, these will likely be your last words..."
"Who took it ?"
Ktar stared at him, as if deciding her next move.
Her eyes closed.
Here it comes, be ready for anything...
Every muscle in his body tightened instinctually.
Ktar opened her eyes, she took a deep breath. Even through his helmet Mando felt as if her gaze was burning into him.
He didn't move.
Get ready...any second now...
Her head shook from side to side. A visible negative riposte. She raised her hand.
Get ready...
