Hey everyone! We are now in the month of July, and it's this story's turn for a monthly dedication. I hope you're hungry for some good quality entertainment. We're starting things off with a mostly new chapter. Before that, however, let's answer some of the long awaiting reviews.

Guest: Glad you like the story so much! I figured it would be a good idea to bring in Fu as both a mentor figure and as a person who would willingly make this change. Here's more for ya to enjoy!

I think that's everyone for now. Let's get on with the chapter! I don't own Naruto or Dragon Ball in any capacity. I do own original characters, concepts, and ideas unless stated otherwise. Action!

Time Branch 149, Konohagakure

Goku sighed as he walked through the streets of Konoha, keeping his eyes on the sky. Ever since the horrific events of what has become famously known as the Uchiha Massacre, things hadn't been quite the same in the village he called home. Most of the civilian population haled the surviving Uchiha as high-class citizens, with very few actually congratulating their loyalty out of the good of their heart. Thankfully Itachi was able to make the civilian populace back off so the survivors could properly mourn, his new status as Hokage being a big boon to keeping certain rowdy people in mind. When it comes to the recently endangered clan, however, one missing friend was the biggest concern on Goku's mind.

Sasuke had isolated himself from the rest of the world, the only person allowed to see him being his brother. He would show up for public speeches, but he refused to speak with Goku in the midst of his pain. If it wasn't for Uncle Fu telling him to give his friend time, the saiyan would have forced his way into the Uchiha Estate to force the conversation. This whole situation surrounding the event just made the world seem darker than Goku could ever remember. The Saiyan was about to turn a corner, only to watch as the sky suddenly went from clear to a rainstorm within a minute.

"Where did this storm come from?" questioned Goku. He turned his head in the direction of a nearby forest as he felt a strange spike in chakra. "There!" The monkey boy quickly flew off, rushing towards the signature. He soon reached the area where the chakra had spiked, coming across a sight he hadn't been expecting.

There was a small, skinny boy crying on the ground as his foot was caught in the roots of a tree. He had a constant blush on his face; spiky waist-length, brown hair with short bangs hanging over his eyes and chin-length strands framing both sides of his face; and green eyes with grey sclerae. The kid wore a dull green robe with a dull brown cloak, wooden geta, and bandages on his head and wrists, with a purple headband. He was obviously the origin of the immense chakra signature, the storm overhead pouring harder as his cries increased. Goku, feeling sympathy in his heart, lowered to the forest floor next to the kid.

He decided to go straight to work dealing with the roots, causing the stranger's cries to turn into sobbing. "Just hang in there. I'll get you out." The little boy's tears stopped falling as Goku practically ripped the roots out of the way. "There we go."

The storm suddenly subsided, returning the sky to its cloudless state. The kid turned to a sitting position as he rubbed his ankle. The stranger then sent a huge smile Goku's way, his canine teeth being more pronounced than the rest.

"Thank you!" cheered the boy. He then jumped to his feet, proceeding to dance around childishly. "I'm free as the wind~! Not a cloud or rainy day in sight~!" Goku couldn't help but chuckle as he shook his head.

"Not a bad song! You're pretty cool. What's your name?" The strange boy stopped his dancing as sparkles formed in his eyes. He threw his arms up in an excited motion.

"I've never been called cool before! My name's Yota! What's your name!?" Goku sounded his interest in the boy's name, committing it to memory. He smirked as he gestured to himself.

"My name's Goku Sarutobi. I don't think I've seen you around the village before. Are you visiting or…" Yota's expression faltered slightly, another detail Goku immediately caught. The goofy boy quickly shook his head in denial.

"I'm a wanderer. I don't really have any family right now." Goku frowned, the boy's hesitance making more sense to him now. He had heard from Lee and Tenten that some orphans weren't as comfortable with the fact that they had no family to call their own. It honestly made him kinda feel like a jerk for assuming he was a spy.

Before anything else could be said, Goku's stomach let loose a growl. Yota giggled as he pointed to the Saiyan. "Somebody's hungry! I haven't eaten all day myself!" The local boy's eyes widened in exasperation at this detail.

"Well, that ain't gonna fly! Let's go get something to eat, my treat!" Yota looked nervous as he held his hands together, the wind in the area picking up.

"I don't know. Some of the people there look mean." Goku chuckled as he shook his head.

"Just do what I do, ignore them unless they start causing trouble. Come on!" He grabbed Yota gently by the hand, pulling him along. Thankfully they were within the walls of the village, so he didn't have to try and get the boy past the guards. A few people looked their way, but Goku merely waved politely before trucking along with Yota in tow.

They soon reached their destination, the saiyan gesturing to it with a grin. "Tada! Ichiraku Ramen! The best ramen place in the world!" Yota couldn't help but smack his lips at the thought, a chuckling sound coming from inside the establishment.

"Is that my favorite customer I hear?" questioned Mr. Ichiraku. Goku moved the curtain out of the way as he ushered in Yota. "Who's your friend there, Goku? He looks like he's been through some rough times." The monkey boy patted the kid on the back lightly, causing him to walk forward a bit.

"This is Yota! He's a new friend I made, and he hasn't eaten all day. I knew this would be the best place to cure an empty stomach." Mr. Ichiraku hummed as he looked over Yota, causing the little boy to become nervous. The old man chuckled as he crossed his arms.

"Well then, we'll just have to work extra hard to meet those high praises! What'll ya have, kid?" Yota, unsure of what to even grab, shrugged in response to the question.

"I dunno." Answered the kid. "I'll just have whatever Goku has." The monkey boy in question grinned as he walked over to one of the seats at the bar.

"Two of my usual then." Agreed Goku. He hopped up onto one of the stools, quickly patting at the one beside him. "Come on, Yota! Teuchi always gets it done really fast!" The strange kid grinned as he crawled up to the seat, having to put in great effort to do so.

Goku couldn't help but chuckle in embarrassment as he shook his head. "Sorry. I shoulda helped ya up before I got on." Yota giggled as he nodded his head. Soon the smell of cooking noodles got the duo's attention.

They both began watering at the mouth as it was joined by the smell of vegetables and meats being seared. "You smell that, Yota?" The little boy took another sniff of the air, a serene breeze flowing into the restaurant.

"I smell it, Goku-neesan." Gasped Yota. "What is that?" Goku grinned as Teuchi began to pour a couple of bowls.

"That, my friend, is the wondrous scent of Teuchi's masterpiece. The famous, Ichiraku Ramen." The old man chuckled as he set the bowls in front of the boys.

"You kids eat up!" encouraged the man. "Knowing you, Goku, I'll go ahead and grab more bowls." The saiyan in question grinned as he broke his chopsticks apart. Yota had a bit of trouble doing the same, so Goku did it for him. The duo clapped their hands together, similar grins plastered on their faces.

"Itadakimasu!" cried the boys. Goku immediately began wailing on his dish, taking a moment to sound his delight over the taste. It was his favorite out of all the ramen offered by Ichiraku. Sniffling was heard from Yota, causing the saiyan to look his way. Imagine Goku's shock when the little guy was once again crying as he chewed his food.

"You alright, Yota?" questioned the monkey boy. "It's not too hot for ya, is it?" Yota raised his gaze towards the roof, revealing that his tears were of joy.

"I feel alive!" cheered the orphan boy. He began eating at Goku speeds, surprising both Teuchi and the boy said speeds were named for. Not one to back down, Goku resumed his own meal. Teuchi watched in shock as both boys finished their bowls at the same time. They then shared a grin as they held out their bowls.

"More please!" requested the duo. Teuchi shook as he felt a pit form in his stomach. This Yota boy was like another Goku, meaning he could be out of stock before the day is over. Not being one to deny a hungry customer, the old man quickly made more bowls for them. The duo ate this and one more meal before Yota started moaning and rubbing his stomach.

"I can't eat another bite." The weather boy burped soon after his declaration, hitting Teuchi with a strong gust of air as he fell off the stool and onto his back. In spite of the awkwardness of the situation, both boys just laughed at the moment. Goku immediately began counting out the yen, a relief on the old man's conscience. The saiyan placed the money off the table before hopping onto the ground.

"Come on, Yota!" cried Goku. "I wanna show ya around!" Yota nodded eagerly as he got up on his feet, running out of the business with his saiyan friend. Teuchi slumped forward, sighing in relief. He could only hope that this Yota boy was just a visitor.

The young duo ran through the streets, Yota becoming more confident as he would sometimes run around people with a cry of "'scuse me!" The boys laughed as they approached the ninja academy. As they grew closer, however, Goku noticed an outstretched leg. "Yota, jump!"

Goku immediately jumped over the appendage, realizing that it belonged to Kazuko. He hadn't seen the bully in years, most likely because the fat brat avoided him like the plague. It looked like he had a new posse of boys, the group waiting with bats in hand. In spite of his warning, Yota failed to see the leg and ended up being tripped by it. The group of bullies laughed as Kazuko pulled his leg back.

"Looks like we got a homeless brat, boys." Began the big loser. He growled as he turned his attention to Goku. "He's palling around with the Sarutobi FREAK. Why the third keeps mutated filth like you around eludes me." The saiyan growled as he clutched his fists, his normally cheery demeanor gone as a scowl appeared on his face.

"How come I knew you'd stoop this low, picking on people you think are weak." Snarled Goku. "You're the same as ever. It's no wonder you couldn't even graduate the academy. Meanwhile, Lee and Tenten are doing better than you ever did." Kazuko growled as he pointed towards Yota.

"Yeah, well, at least I can hang out with regular people instead of needing to scrounge around with losers like this. Bet 'cha his parents dumped him on the street for his stupid looking eyes." Goku felt his rage grow more and more as his pupils shrunk slightly. Soon the rainstorm from before returned, this time falling much harder. Yota picked himself up off the ground and ran away, bawling his eyes out as he did so.

Kazuko could only groan as he held his arms above his head. "That deadbeat brat got us caught in the rain. It's your lucky day, freak. I'll let you off with a…" The bully was sent flying across the ground, his cheek red with the imprint of a fist.

The big guy groaned as he rose to his knees, feeling at his face. His eyes widened as he felt a sharp pain. His mood worsened as he saw several bits of shattered teeth on the ground. "MA TEEF! YA BROKE MA TEEF!"

The group of lesser bullies looked on dumbfounded as Goku's wet hair covered his eyes. Kazuko quickly stood up, turning towards Goku with a raised finger. "BEAT 'EM! WIP HIS TAIL OFF!" The group of hooligans ran towards the saiyan, their makeshift weapons raised, only to be swatted away as their target used one of their own like a flyswatter. The monkey boy growled as he approached a now frightened Kazuko.

"You can beat me, insult me, and even kick me when I'm down. The moment you mess with my friends…" Kazuko couldn't help but fall on his butt, allowing Goku to stand tall over him. "I'll kick you so hard you'll be the first man on the moon. Now… go home, and never bother me again."

Much like he did years ago, Kazuko became a bawling mess as he ran away from the area. The consequences of his actions were completely lost on Goku as he quickly looked in the direction Yota ran towards. "Yota! Come back!" He quickly ran down the path, leaving the groaning bullies on the ground.

Meanwhile, Yota continued to bawl as he ran for the forest. It hurt him that he was potentially making Goku look bad. That wasn't even to mention how the big jerk had said horrible things about his family. It all made him want to run home, a place that no longer existed for him. So, he figured the trees where he was found to be the next best thing.

As soon as he passed a few trunks, however, he found himself with a sharp pain in his gut. He looked down to see a blade impaling him through the stomach, though no blood was gushing out. With so much trauma placed on him in a short time span, Yota fell into unconsciousness. Three ninjas with the Root kanji on their headbands lowered from the trees.

"The capture of the Edo Tensei puppet created by Orochimaru has been successful." Stated one of the men in a cold, dead voice. "Extraction is authorized." The man reached for the trio's quarry, only to stop as a slashing sound rang throughout the forest. His companions jumped backwards as he fell forward, his top becoming drenched in a scarily familiar red substance. Fu floated before the duo, his Ryu Anbu mask on his face.

"Return to your master and tell him this child is off limits." Growled the purple man. "Unless, of course, you'd rather send the message as a corpse." The duo quickly pulled out katanas as they rushed their attacker. They slashed into the man, only for him to be replaced by a log. One of the villains actually screamed as he had a hand shoved into his back.

With a flash of energy, his body was disintegrated by a powerful ki blast. Fu remained stoic as he held his palm towards the last Root ninja. "Like I said, last chance. After this, you're going back to Danzō in a body bag." The last remaining ninja performed some hand seals as he prepared an attack.

"For the glory of Konoha." Stated the villain. "Fire Style: Fire…" Fu didn't even give the man a chance as he used a ki blast to cauterize his head. The Root ninja fell backwards, the ashes that were once his cloak and hair scattering across the ground. Seals activated on the two remaining bodies, destroying the heads with a small explosion.

Fu sighed in disappointment as he shook his head. He picked up Yota in his arms, realizing that the boy was coming to. "Fake heavy breathing." The weather boy did as he was told, not wanting to face this stranger's might. This was just in time as Goku ran over, his eyes widened in horror.

"Yota!" cried the saiyan. "Oh, please no! Uncle Fu, you have to do something! He's my friend and he ran off because Kazuko insulted his dead family and…" The purple man removed his mask, revealing a soft smile.

"No worries, kiddo. Let's get him to my place and I'll do my best." Goku nodded vigorously, still worried for the little weather boy. The uncle and nephew duo quickly flew off with the little stranger, beating the rain as they flew at high speed. Goku practically rammed the door to the house open, making sure Fu could keep a good hold on the impaled boy.

The Nisekuma clan head approached the dojo, only to send Goku a serious glare. "I'm going to try a forbidden ritual from my clan. I can't let you see it Goku, because even knowing it is a curse upon the user. Please wait out here." Goku looked like he wanted to object, only for the door of the dojo to close and lock in his face.

Inside the room, Fu quickly set Yota on the ground. He pulled the blade out of the boy, watching as the spot remained open and hollow. He threw the weapon to the side, planning to file it away as evidence. "So, mind telling me your real story… Yota, right?" Yota slowly sat up as sorrowful frown appeared on his face.

"My clan were wanderers." Revealed the boy. "We were capable of manipulating the weather, using it to help us live. My father would teach me all the songs his father taught him, supposedly being helpful in use of our abilities. I died from a sickness that took over the land. It should have been the end, only I woke up in a wooden box."

Fu nodded, recognizing this box as the coffin that appears through the Edo Tensei. Yota looked to Fu with pleading eyes. "If you are going to finish me and release me to the other side, please make Goku forget me. I'd rather be nothing to him than leave him in pain." The purple man remained stoic as he crossed his arms.

"Well, I guess it depends. Do you want to move on? Judging from how your eyes looked before you passed out, I saw a will to live." Yota looked down, contemplating the adult's words. The boy looked to him with a sad smile.

"After bringing me back, Orochimaru let me loose upon the world. He probably thought my immortal status would cause me to flood villages with big rainstorms. I haven't had someone to call a friend in years, until I met Goku. He reminded me so much of my family, especially the way he smiles and how he never looks down on you. It makes me wish I was alive again, to have that happy feeling and not worry about being used again or having to remove that friend's memories."

Fu hummed, intrigued by the implications of that last part. Yota curled up with his legs to his chest as he looked to the floor. "If it were possible, I'd live my life to help others smile. Sadly, no power like this exists." Fu's smirk returned as he lowered down to the boy's level.

"If that power didn't exist, I wouldn't be offering it." Yota looked to the purple man, surprised by the news. "I told Goku I planned to use a forbidden technique, and I didn't lie about that. This technique helped my uncle to come back from the dead so he could obtain his vengeance. While it is normally only focused on the self, I can use it to give you a new lifespan."

The weather boy felt tears begin to form in his eyes, not sure if he should even believe this strange man's words or not. "If I perform this technique, we will be bound together as family. There's a reason this technique is supposed to stay in my clan. So, I'll ask again. Do you want to pass on, or do you want to live?"

The question caused Yota to sob even more, only this time snow began to fall outside instead of rain. Fu decided to try and brighten the mood by letting his goofy side return. "Any time today would be nice. The door can only hold Goku for so long." Yota looked up from his scrunched-up position as he looked the Nisekuma clan head in the eye.

"I want to live! I want to feel the beat of my heart again! I want to go to Ichiraku's every day and eat the best meals! I want to make friends and have back the life that was stolen from me!" The snowstorm became a blizzard, freaking Goku out in the living room.

"What's going on in there!" cried thee Saiyan. He banged on the door, causing it to shake upon impact. "Uncle Fu! Is Yota okay!?" Fu ignored his nephew's cries as he motioned for Yota to lie down.

"You might wanna brace yourself." Instructed the false demon. "Transferring life energy in this manor can be really shocking." Yota closed his eyes as Fu began to channel magic in his hands. He began to sweat blood as he poured his ki into the mix. The man let out a shout as he pushed this magical energy into the undead boy's body, causing a bright light to penetrate even the dojo door.

Goku was forced to cover his eyes as the light was brilliant and surprisingly pure. The light eventually died down, allowing the saiyan to open his eyes. The door to the dojo soon unlocked, allowing the boy to throw it open.

"Uncle Fu! Is everything…" Goku's words died in his throat as he watched Fu rinse blood off his face. Yota rose from the floor, taking a deep breath as if he hadn't had one a day in his life. Both boys were quite shocked by the result of this forbidden technique.

Yota's skin was now pale, almost like that of a vampire. His blush still remained, though it looked grayer than it did red. The weather boy saw a small indoor pond nearby, scrambling over to it. He was now staring back at himself, noticing his pointy ears and his now white scleras. Yota fell back on his butt, hugging himself as he felt the warmth of his own body.

"I'm alive." Mumbled the reborn child. He stood up as he thrust his arms into the air. "I'm alive! I feel lightning running through my veins!" Anything more could be shouted by Yota, Goku tackled him into a hug.

"YOTA! You're okay!" Both boys laughed as the saiyan lifted his friend into the air. He twirled him around a bit before setting him down. Fu couldn't help but smile as he wiped the water from his face.

"This is cute and all, but I need to see the Hokage." Revealed the Nisekuma clan head, earning the duo's attention. "Yota, I'm going to have to explain how we're related now. I want to make it officially known that you are a member of my clan now. The Hokage will also have to help me with the proper documentation." Goku grinned in excitement as he looked to his newest friend.

"Ya hear that!? We're gonna be cousins!" Yota's own grin matched that of the monkey boy as the duo joined in one of his dances.

"It's been so long since I've had a cousin!" cried the weather boy. "This is the best day of my new life!" Goku looked confused by this statement, only for Fu to lift Yota up onto his shoulders.

"Well, we better hurry then!" cheered the purple man. "The longer we wait, the longer it'll take for you to become cousins!" Yota cheered as he punched one of his arms forward. Goku couldn't help but grin, nearly forgetting what caused his confusion earlier. They took off as soon as Fu shut the door to his house, Goku doing loop de loops in order to entertain his newest friend.

Upon arrival, Goku was made to wait outside yet again. This time, however, the saiyan didn't mind. While he would want to see the papers be signed, it was a matter between the Nisekuma clan and the Hokage. The monkey boy looked up at the roof, wondering just what was happening. Little did he know that things were getting interesting, Itachi looking over his surprise visitors with an unreadable look.

"So… you brought a puppet of Orochimaru back from the dead with a technique that used your own lifespan." Began the Hokage. "This caused him to partially become a member of your species." Fu nodded his head as Yota nervously tapped his feet together.

"Exactly. I wish to use the reclamation laws to have him officially placed under my clan. I wish to give him a better life than what he had, as well as help him to become a strong shinobi of Konohagakure. Yota's spirit is so strong that the Will of Fire will be bigger than ever." In spite of his reputation as an Uchiha, Itachi let a small smile grace his face.

"We both know that, whether he had a kekei genkai or not, you would have done this. With how you treat Goku, I'd say you have a soft spot for children." Fu actually blushed in embarrassment as he held his hand to his chest.

"Are you accusing ME of playing favoritism to children with traumatic back stories!? Where would you ever get that from." Yota couldn't help but giggle at the purple man's goofy antics, causing the sun to shine a bit brighter. Itachi delayed no longer as he brought out a small stack of paperwork. Fu gulped at the stack, nonetheless, earning a chuckle from Itachi.

"All you have to do is sign the blank line on the bottom. I've already ensured that anything the civilian council and Danzō could use against you was removed." Fu sighed in relief as he leaned to his left.

"That's a relief. Paperwork is such a drag." A certain clan sneezed all across the village, as if their slogan was said. Fu quickly moved to the last page as he wrote his signature. Itachi took the stack from the purple man, writing his own signature before applying an authorization seal.

"Congratulations, Yota-kun. You have been found and reclaimed by the Nisekuma clan. May you bring honor to your clan." Yota let out a cheer of joy as he began one of his cheerful dances. Fu couldn't help but laugh heartily as he rubbed the boy on the head.

"Calm down there, kid. Save that energy for Goku. Head outside to tell him the good news. I have to speak with the Hokage about one more thing." Yota nodded his head vigorously before running to the door.

The sound of excited cheers and singing were heard as the entrance closed. Fu let loose a sigh before returning his attention to Itachi. "That was nice. I can't believe I'm a dad before I even got married." Itachi's smile returned to the typical frown as he leaned forward.

"As momentous as this occasion was, we both know that this was not why you asked to meet with me earlier this morning. You had a request regarding Goku's training." Fu nodded, a frown appearing on his face as well. Back outside, Yota was once again singing a weather-based song to express his joy. Goku was attempting to join in before Fu opened the door to the Hokage's office.

"Hey, Goku. Why don't you head back and pack up some stuff?" Goku tilted his head in confusion, Yota doing the same in the other direction.

"Why?" questioned the saiyan. His eyes lit up as he leaned forward with a grin. "Are we celebrating Yota having a new family with a sleepover!?" Fu chuckled as he shook his head. He rubbed his nephew atop of his head fondly.

"Basically yeah. It's not the only reason though. I just got permission from Itachi to take you on a training trip. I'm going to teach you important survival skills, along with a few other surprises." Goku's eyes widened as his tail wagged like a dog's tail.

"YES! Super special training trip!" Yota stood on the tips of his toes as he held his hand up.

"Will I be training too, Fu-sama?" questioned the newest Nisekuma. "I wanna control my family power." Fu shook his head, his smile never leaving.

"You'll have your chance to train. Right now, you need to get used to the changes to your body." Yota harrumphed at not being included, only for Goku pulling him along to make his smile return. Fu smiled as he followed behind the kids. If only they knew how much things were going to change in one night.

Time Branch 147, Mt. Pazao

Goku moaned as he rolled around in his slumber. He remembered celebrating Yota becoming part of their little family before going to bed in Uncle Fu's house, resting on a nice bed. Now he was feeling blades of grass poking into his back. He finally stopped on a patch of dirt, sighing as he felt sunlight hit his cheek… Goku's eyes flew wide open as he sat up, taking a look around.

This was definitely not his uncle's house, nor was it anywhere near Konoha. The boy quickly shot up feeling around the area for any signs of life. He felt a few small signatures all around him, as well as some stronger ones a bit of a ways off. Feeling like this was one of his uncle's weird ways of testing him, he decided to make way towards the two closest signatures. He began to near the closest of the individuals, hearing the sound of splashing water.

"Uncle Fu, I'm doing it!" shouted an unfamiliar voice. Goku paused on a tree limb as he thought over those words. Had he heard that right?

"Uncle Fu?" questioned the saiyan. "Only I call him that!" Goku rushed towards the scene, a confused frown present on his face. He soon came to a clearing in the trees, spotting a nearby lake. As soon as he jumped from the tree he was on, he was soon met with a figure jumping parallel to him.

Cerulean eyes met black as the two kids locked eyes. Goku couldn't help but feel that he had seen this kid somewhere before, probably in a book or on a statue. He slowly studied the kid's form, including a peculiar aspect of his face. 'Are those… whiskers?' The duo continued to stare at each other as they neared the ground, only for the blonde to realize that his foot was sinking into the lake.

"DARN IT!"

That's the end of this chapter! What a way to start off this story's first dedicated month, am I right? I decided to do something unique with the events of Yota's time in Konoha. Now the goofy kid is alive once more with a new family to boot. Also, Naruto and Goku will finally be meeting in the next chapter.

Those of you who read the original versions of this story, don't expect everything to be 100% the same as last time. Now that I've grown as a writer, I plan to plug in some loose plot events and go into greater detail. As such, Goku's time with Naruto will take longer than just one chapter. How will that play out? You'll have to wait as early as next weekend to find out.

Anyway, what did you think about the chapter? Did you like how Yota was saved from his horrible fate? How about Goku's arrival back in his time branch of origin? Let me know what you think down below, and I'll get back to you ASAP. Until then, this is Inkaliber, signing out.
