(Numbani. One week before the attack on Route 66. 10:42 Pm. Efi is 16)
The petite African girl typed away at her computer, the massive green centaur named Orisa sitting beside her with wires coming from her head. "What am I gonna do with you? This whole day you've been knocking things over, nearly stepping on people, and I swear you've been staring off into space. You should be able to tell me what's wrong, but you keep saying all systems are at optimal performance. And you've been acting so lewd lately, you can't even feel those kinds of emotions." She sighed as she looked back into Orisa's glowing white eyes.
"I'm sorry Efi. Maybe I'm sick." Her eyes narrowed a bit as she looked towards the ground. She didn't have an answer for her strange behavior. "I'm not doing these things on purpose, so maybe something's wrong with my hardware." Efi's ears perked up, looking back at her and standing slowly. "You're not doing this, I know that. But, who could make a bug encrypted enough that I couldn't find it. That's just impossible." Orisa's hand slowly reached out, cupping Efi's cheek.
Efi returned this gesture, finding more comfort in the touch of a metal beast than any human could provide her. That's when she could see Orisa staring down her night shirt, looking at her undeveloped buds. "Orisa! Stop! You're not supposed to act like that." She snapped back to reality and lifted her head, her eyes turning a dull orange as she frantically looked away. "I'm sorry! My servos just locked up, that's it!" Was she embarrassed? "What is going on?"
She sighed as she pulled back a bit, removing the wires from orisa's head and shutting down her computer. "Orisa, backup your memory and perform a factory reset." Orisa seemed very against the idea, shaking her head intently. "What if someone breaks in? Or what if talon attacks tomorrow? What would happen then?" Efi just sighed, giving her a reassuring smile. "I'll be okay, I've got traps all over the city. You know that." She playfully flicked one of her horns. It seemed like that was enough convincing for Orisa, her eyes slowly turning off and her body powering down.
Efi sighed. "Finally, that took way too long." A voice came out from the ceiling, Efi turning to face it and seeing the skylight in her workshop wide open. It was so high up she hadn't noticed it earlier. "What took too long? You think Orisa being down makes me an easy target?" Despite the fact that nobody was there, she knew someone had been. She felt a hand on her shoulder from behind, the other hand holding her waist tight. "Relax. I'm not here to make enemies, I much prefer friends." She saw sharp purple nails clutch onto her, showing her that moving out of this touch was not a good idea.
"Efi Oladele, girl genius. The one person you couldn't track or pin down in a million years just so happened to be the one person who needed this meeting to happen." Olivia was a target for Orisa, someone who shouldn't be allowed to live under any circumstances. As such, she wouldn't be taking any chances.
"Is she going to be okay?" Was all efi could manage to muster the courage to say. Sombra chuckled a bit as her hand went into Efi's pockets, pulling out her handy dandy sidearm and placing it on her desk. "How about, you have a seat. I'm not going to hurt you or Orisa, as long as you give me what I want."
Efi nodded and slowly made her way across from the robot, placing her rump on the couch as she turned to get a good view of the home invader. "Sombra? Oh thank god." She sighed out of pure relief as sombra moved forward, clasping her chin with a smirk. "What does god have to do with this?" She snarkily replied, forcing efi to look up into her eyes.
"You're not like the rest of those talon freaks. You've done just as much good as you have bad. And most importantly, I know we are more useful Alive than dead." Sombra clapped a small bit before straddling her waist, leaning forward and forcing the petite girl against the back of the couch.
"I'll cut to the chase then. I need Orisa, well, not this Orisa. I need to know how you made Orisa, where the breakthrough in tech was. What specifically separates her from a normal Or-15 unit. I've got all of the information on her software that I could ever want, but still replication efforts haven't worked." Efi wasn't one to give up her secrets easily, far from it in fact.
"Well I have a condition." Sombra raised an eyebrow, but decided to indulge her. "You don't use it for evil." Olivia smirked. "Well then I have a condition. You program it yourself." Efi nodded softly. "Well then I have another nother condition! You leave talon!" Sombra chuckled softly and put a kiss on her cheek. "I already did."
"Well then I have a different condition!" Sombra's eyes were a bit wide as she heard that. "Help me make it! And I have another condition! You promise never to do evil again! And I have another condition! You promise to help protect Numbani!" Olivia was just giggling away at Efi's repeated conditions, despite her not even being in a position to negotiate.
"Alright alright just stop yelling. What I'm working on, will protect the whole world. I promise. You're going to see some things that may seem destructive, even evil, over the next few months. But you have my word as a woman Efi, we are the good guys." Efi crossed her arms and puffed up her lip. "If it seems bad how is it good?" "It's like blowing up the moon. The tides would be out of control, but hydro power would go through the roof. Except, you know, less death. That's a really bad analogy. It's like breaking eggs! There, that's better."
Efi just began laughing a bit, her smile eventually growing as she looked up at sombra with a toothy grin. "I have one more condition! You introduce me to your friends." Sombra nodded softly and put another kiss on her forehead. "Okay, I can do that." It really made it obvious that efi was just a little girl after all, and straddling her like this was kinda gross. "Just letting you know, Orisa is going to be a little rowdy when she wakes up. That bug isn't in her software, it's a little more complicated than that. She's growing up, to put it another way. Just, be there for her. Okay efi?" Sombra asked as she slowly brought herself to her feet.
"I'll always be there for my friends. Especially Orisa. Where are you going?" She asked nervously as Olivia disappeared. "Home, don't worry. I'll be back." A purple sugar skull appeared on her computer screen, Efi seeing the mark just after. "Bye!" Efi shouted to the ceiling before deciding to get ready for bed.
Her eyes looked towards Orisa and a gentle motherly smile formed on her face. "Fine, you win this time." Orisa was like a little puppy when efi would go to sleep, always pouting until Efi stayed with her in the workshop. She grabbed a blanket and pillow before hopping on top of Orisa. Her back was rough to sleep on, but she was more than used to worse conditions. She fell asleep shortly after and had one of the most sound sleeps of her life.
Olivia just kicked her feet as she laid against the opening of the roof, making sure Efi wouldn't try and speak about their encounter to anyone. She was a very interesting girl, incredibly mature and intelligent but it's evident she isn't quite ready to leave her childhood. Her involvement must be kept totally secret, her image could be ruined if this plan backfires in Angie's face. "I could never do that to her, she doesn't deserve it. If only she were a few years older, I could see myself with her." Okay, that was weird to say.
