Thanks for all of your precious feedback on the last chapter... I have this next chapter... Enjoy it, I think. I'm almost done with chapter 7 so and have a week off work for Easter and such, so I should have the new chapter out asap. Enjoy this and have a wonderful week.
Once Olivia and Jen got back, Jen offered to get Trevor's fire going. He had a small fire going every single night while he was at the farm and when he didn't have company, he would sit by it for hours.
While Olivia went inside and upstairs to get changed, Jen worked on that and got rid of their empty beer bottles and helped herself to alcohol in Trevor's cupboard, mixing them both some loose version of a mojito. It was clear to Olivia and Jen that they were both a little drunk.
"I wasn't sure what we should do for dinner, Trevor wanted to go grab some food from town or go to dinner, but I'm sure by the time Noah gets back he's going to be not long from a bath and bed, also, now I think I'm a little wasted," she giggled as she stepped out on to the porch.
"Oh, do you guys need food?," Jen asked, "there's so much food at our place…"
"No, no… I'm sure I can scratch together something."
"Worst case scenario, you can order pizza, that's the one thing we can get delivered," she informed her.
Olivia took a seat on the camp chair by the fire and shivered a little from her wet hair. She suspected she was a lot more sunburned than she had realised, her skin was hot to the touch but she felt a little cold. The sun was starting to lose it's bite in the late afternoon and it was starting to cool right down.
"We'll work something out, I just need to make sure Noah eats something a little healthier than a bit of bread with some sauce," she laughed.
"Oh yeah, we fed him pizza already today," she laughed, "sorry about that."
"No, its totally fine, pizza is his favourite."
"Your skin is so red, Liv," Jen remarked, leaning forward to inspect her closer, "wow, you really didn't wear any sunscreen today did you?"
"I rarely burn, I just… didn't think about it. Is it really that bad?"
"Yeah, it's pretty bad, is it okay?" She motioned to touch Olivia's shoulder that was covered by a lightweight blue button-down shirt over the top of a pair of Trevor's grey gym pants she found laying over his bed. She looked a little homely but she wasn't really that concerned.
"Yeah…"
Jen lifted the shoulder of her shirt and checked the colour of her skin beneath her bra strap. "Fuck," she cursed, "Liv, you need some aloe vera on this, its really bad, it's a wonder you're not sizzling."
"Oh, I'm actually kind of cold…" she replied.
"Yeah, but your skin is hot, it's not cold, you shouldn't feel cold, Trevor is going to kill you," she grimaced. "You need to take a tepid shower to cool your skin off before bed, you're going to be very sore. I'll get you some aloe vera gel."
"I'll be okay, thanks…" Liv smiled, "I've been sunburned before…"
"Yeah but this is pretty bad and you've been in the sun all day, so you might feel a bit off later," Jen suspected, the fact that Olivia had expressed feeling cold was an alarm bell to her. She was distracted from her thoughts just as the they heard the kids running toward them and giggling. The girls shrieked with happiness as they made a beeline to their Mom.
Olivia turned around, looking for Noah and grinned to see him on Trevor's shoulders with Olly on his father's back. They both looked drunk with happiness. Trevor caught Liv's eye and smiled at her, giving her a wink. She felt flutters in her stomach when she saw just how fatherly he looked, how much and patience he had for Noah.
It meant so much to her.
Trevor lifted Noah off as they neared and watched him scamper toward Olivia. "Hi baby! Did you have fun?" she asked as he ran in to her arms. "Be careful okay, mind the fire…"
"I had so much fun, Mommy! We played with the lil baby piggies!," he exclaimed, "I got to hold Maple!"
"Oh wow, that's so exciting! Guess what? Mommy got to hold Maple today too!" She pulled her son in to her lap and kissed his cheek. "I missed you today, my love…"
"I missed you, Mommy but sometimes I have to play with my friends."
Olivia and Jen shared a laugh, "I know, I understand… you've got a very busy social life here on the farm, don't you?"
He nodded despite not fully understanding what Olivia meant.
"How'd you girls go?" Joey asked, putting his son down and kissing his wife's forehead. "Drunk yet?"
"A little," Jen replied.
"I was thinking we'll gather up our babes and head home, the girls are getting whiny."
"Okay," she agreed, she smiled at Olivia, "well, this has been such a nice afternoon, Liv…"
"It has been," she agreed, "thank you guys so much for taking care of Noah today. Noah did you say thank you to Jen and Joey?"
He murmured a thank you but Olivia could see that he was tired; he had made no attempt to slide out of her lap. Trevor greeted her; he had been dawdling behind, "Hey…" he smiled, kissing her cheek.
She regarded him with a smile. They said their goodbyes and gave the kids hugs and kisses all round before it was just Trevor and Noah left with Liv by the fire.
"Somebody is about to fall asleep," Trevor informed her.
"Yeah, that can't happen, its just that little bit too early." Olivia replied. "Honey," she spoke to Noah, "I think it's time for your bath, what do you think?"
He rubbed his eyes and whined slightly. "That's a yes," she told him, "you've had such a big day. I think you can have a bath and if you're hungry Mommy can make you something to eat and then we can cuddle up with Trevor on the couch and watch some TV, does that sound okay?"
Slowly, the small tired boy nodded. "Okay my love,"
"I'll make something," Trevor told her as she slowly got up, balancing her son on her hip. "I can do some Mac and cheese or something?" He offered.
"Oh, actually that's kind of perfect, thanks Trev…" she murmured. "Sorry, I'm a lil tipsy," she chuckled.
Trevor laughed, "that's okay, baby, you go get his pajamas and stuff ready and I can organise his bath if you like," he reached out for her son and she realised she held zero reluctance handing him over to him.
"Thank you."
She watched Noah curl in to Trevor and was aware that he was most definitely exhausted.
"Come on, Noah, let's go get your bath taken care of while Mommy gets your PJs."
/
"I live for these snuggles," Olivia remarked once the three of them were on the couch together. She was all but sitting in Trevor's lap, cradling her sleepy son in her arms.
Trevor circled his arms around her shoulders and kissed her temple. "I love it too," he replied, reaching to stroke Noah's curls. "You had such a huge day, didn't you?
Noah nodded, not taking his eyes off the television.
"How did you go with Jen?" Trevor asked Olivia.
"So good, I really like her… we talked about the kids and you and I, it was nice to have that mom-to-mom talk without it ending up in a discussion about having to protect our kids from predators…. I realised besides Rollins, I don't have Mom friends."
She felt his lips in her hair, "that's wonderful, I'm glad you guys like each other, that actually means a lot to me…"
Olivia looked down at her son and watched Trevor caress her son's curls as he slowly closed his eyes. It was a perfect moment. She breathed in slow and let her contentment go.
Olivia leaned forward and kissed her son's forehead. Noah stirred and rolled in to her, throwing an arm over her. Just when she thought she couldn't have been happier. He cuddled her warmly. "I love you, my sweetheart," she murmured, kissing him again. "I love you so much."
Trevor smiled to himself watching his perfect woman tend to her son with the most open and warm heart. He wanted to do the same, he wanted to learn to be the perfect father-figure for Noah. He was aware that they were still new, but they had been dating long enough for him to be very clear on what he wanted and he wanted a life with the woman in his arms and her son that cuddled against her with the a sense of security and confidence that sometimes he felt was missing when he was a child.
He never ever wanted Noah to doubt how much Olivia loved him and he hoped that with the love that he already felt for her son, that he would look to him for fatherly guidance and support and the kind of love that his father was not so great at extending to him. He never wanted any child that he loved to feel like he did growing up.
"I should put him to bed…" Olivia remarked, "he's roasting me…"
Trevor smiled, "it's because you are so burned, babe," he replied. "I think you need to have a nice and cool bath or shower after you put Noah to bed to cool your skin down and then I can rub some of the that aloe-vera gel in that Jen gave you."
"I will…"
"Okay, do you want me to help you take him to bed?" Trevor asked kindly.
"Sure, if you want…"
/
Olivia watched over her son as she tucked him in and Trevor turned the pedestal fan on for some white noise and some coolness since the house could sometimes hold the heat. She kissed his soft check and propped his favourite stuffy beneath his arm. "Goodnight my love," she kissed his cheek. "Sweet dreams."
Trevor smiled at his girlfriend and leaned over, kissing Noah's forehead. "Goodnight my best boy…"
Olivia couldn't help but feel a swell of happiness when she saw how tender he was with Noah. She remembered what Jen had told her and knew that he would probably always do his best to treat Noah with love regardless of how sensitive he was.
Trevor followed her down the hall and to his bedroom where he had transported her suitcase for her. "What are you wearing to bed tonight, sweetie?" He asked, eyening over her suitcase.
"I dunno, maybe just a t-shirt and underwear, is that okay?"
"Baby, you could wear a potato sack and it'd be okay with me, I was just going to get you some clothes, that's all."
"Okay, could you grab some panties and .. maybe I could have one of your tanks or a t-shirt," she smiled at him a little coyly.
"Of course, are you having a bath or a shower?," he wanted to know as she disappeared in the bathroom.
"Mmmmm," she thought about it as she looked around the large expanse of his ensuite. "Maybe a bath, is that fine?"
"Of course…" he replied, plucking out a pair of black briefs, trying his best to be good and not pulling out the sexy, silky red lace pants. He grabbed one of his own t-shirts from the bottom drawer.
He heard the water pouring from the taps and allowed himself permission to enter. She was dressed down to her bra and he could see how red her skin was. "Shit baby, you are so burned, do you feel okay?"
"I feel a bit sick to be honest, too much sun, I think," she replied, surveying the burn line at her bra strap.
"Okay, I'm going to go downstairs and get you a bottle of cold water and I really want you to guzzle it down."
She nodded in agreement and he could tell that she wasn't feeling very good. He leaned over and kissed her, "Have you ever been sunburned like this before?," he wondered.
"I don't think so…"
"Silly thing," he gave her a smile of recognition, feeling bad that he hadn't been more insistent on sun screen. He felt a little responsible because he hadn't remembered despite knowing how hot the weather would be and how she had been exposed to the heat all day. "I'm sorry, I should have reminded you about sun screen…"
"Don't be silly, I'm a responsible adult — or at least I should be. Thanks Trevor."
"I'll be back with your water…" he told her.
/
On the way back to the bathroom, Trevor grabbed her a clean wash cloth and went back in to the bathroom with the ice cold bottle of water. "Can I come in?," he asked, hearing her splashing around.
"Yeah, of course, you don't have to ask…" she told him with a smile as he pushed open the door. He was glad she felt comfortable with him. "Here…" he passed her the cloth and the bottled water, unscrewing the cap for her. "Drink up…"
She thanked him and took the water, shivering visibly as she began to swallow mouthful after mouthful of the cold water. Trevor leaned over to feel the temperature of the bath water. "Liv, this is too hot, it's going to make the burn more severe…"
"I thought you're supposed to get in hot water to help with the sting?"
"No, that's a crazy folks tale," he corrected her, reaching for the tap, he turned off the hot water and let the cold blast for a few moments. Olivia drew her legs up close to her body, trying to escape the coldness of the water hitting her. "It needs to be tepid — on the side of cold, honey."
"It's making me cold," she whined, "turn it off, please… I don't want to freeze."
"Please just trust me, you need your skin to cool down or else you are going to overheat… I know about sunburn, Liv, I grew up here. It can be so unrelenting."
She put the cold water down and hugged herself, shivering. "Just, try to sit here for ten minutes at the least and then we'll put the aloe-gel on for you."
/
Olivia could barely stand it but she was happy to be out of what felt like freezing cold bath water. She shivered so violently that she felt like she wad a fever. She wrapped the towel around herself, her body so tense that she had to remind herself to relax.
"I am so, so, so cold," her teeth chattered.
He put an arm around her and guided her out of the bathroom and pulled the bed covers back. "Here, lay under here and get warm." Without a word she slipped in to bed with the towel still tightly wrapped around her. He covered her with the blanket and circled the bed and got on top of the covers and cuddled her. He kissed her warm cheek. "I love you, I'm so sorry you feel shitty right now."
"I'm okay," she replied despite the fact that she wasn't.
"It's okay that you're not," he murmured, caressing her hair, "I'll take care of you until you feel better, promise."
She glanced at him and couldn't remember a time where she had someone want to look after her, where they didn't just back off the second that she gave him an out. "Thanks…" she replied, her eyes filling with tears at the sudden thought.
"Hey, baby, what's the matter?," her eyes filling with tears didn't get past him, "I don't want you to cry," the guilt of not insisting that they go back for sunscreen when he forgot it in the morning and for forgetting it once again and for not reminding Jen when she had mentioned she would bring some out to the pool.
"No, it's fine, I'm just…" she stammered, clearing her throat. Trevor reached over and wiped a tear that escaped, running down the side of her face. "I'm just being super sensitive, I'm okay."
He stroked her cheek with his thumb losing his long fingers in the soft hair at the back of her head. "You can be as sensitive as you want, especially with me, I don't mind a bit…"
He kissed the cheek closer to him where she had let go of another tear. "Talk to me, why are you crying?"
"I'm not sad," she sniffed, "it's so silly," she took a deep breath.
"Not to me, I don't want you to ever have to be apologetic for your feelings, sweetheart," his tone was so warm and soft and it only made her feel more for him, for his kindness and his gentleness. She realised that a lot of his patience for her sensitivity was probably based on a lot of what Jen had told her earlier about the way he was treated by his father.
"Thanks," she cleared her throat. "I just have never had someone want to be around me for the not-so-fun times as well. I know you think its nothing to sit by my side while I feel weird and not 100 percent, but it's something and I've always been alone that its expected and I don't even want better for myself because I don't know this feeling, its unfamiliar, you know?," she tried to explain, thankful that her shivers had somewhat passed now that she was warm.
"I hate that…" he replied, "I hate that you've gotten used to being alone."
She shrugged, aware of his soothing caresses grazing back and forth over the opposite side of her face. It was comforting and peaceful and she didn't ever want to it up, regardless of how branded it was within her to push away comfort and protection when it was being afforded to her.
"I think sometimes it hits me that you're for real, that tomorrow you're not going to change your mind and it's hard to accept, but I don't want this to end, I don't want you to leave me alone, regardless of what I might say or how I might act." She reached up and wiped the tears herself that had started to spill out without restraint. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to cry or be this intense."
"First thing, first, love, please stop apologising for your feelings. I am for real about you and anytime you need that assurance, I'm here to give it to you." He reached over and kissed her softly upon the lips. "I love you and I won't leave you during rough spots or through moments where you need me, Liv, I'm all in. I am all in for you and I am definitely all in for Noah and you can push and fight and tell me to fuck off when you're going through something, you can try to force me out, but I won't leave you, I'm here for you through it all because that's what you do when you love someone unconditionally."
She nodded, looking in to his eyes, she could see the sincerity within them. "I know your heart," he continued, "I know that you'd never walk away from me, if I was sick or going through something difficult, you would stay with me the whole time even if it meant that you would have to sacrifice something for yourself to do it."
"I would," she replied with a slow nod, "when I love someone, I might not always find it easy to say it and share it as emphatically as you, but it's a deep feeling and its intense and overwhelming and unconditional, I would do anything for you, I hope you know that."
He gave her an adoring smile that seemed to warm her through. "You do a great job of making me feel loved and I've heard you confidently tell me you love me many times today and I will never get sick of hearing it from these lips…" he brushed the pad of his thumb against her plump, slightly moistened mouth.
"I love you…" she told him, barely audible.
"I love you with all of me," he replied. He released a sigh like he'd been holding on to it. "Listen, in all seriousness, its probably not doing you any good to be under these blankets when it's not even a little bit cold, so how about you put on those pajamas from your bag and you can put them on and I'll get you a straw so you can sip that water until its finished."
She nodded, listening to him, relinquishing control, trusting that in this case he definitely knew better. "Thanks…"
Despite how cute she was about to look in his shirt and her panties, he knew nothing was going to be transpiring between them when she was feeling so rotten.
"Before you get dressed, just wait for me, I'll go and get that aloe gel and rub it in to your back and shoulders," he reminded her.
/
Olivia hissed as he spread the Aloe gel liberally all over her shoulders and back. "It's cold, huh?," he asked.
"Freezing," she shivered with a little chuckle. "But its kinda soothing too," she added.
He spread it over the back of her neck and began to massage it gently in to her skin, knowing that her sunburn stung to the touch. He had been surprised just by how comfortable she was with her nudity even outside of the confines of a sexual situation. She was happy to sit between his legs on the bed wearing just her black briefs, completely naked from her chest up.
At first he had to make an effort to not react, to not stare and to not find gratification in seeing her perfect boobs on display. And they were perfect, he thought. As if reading his mind, she started, "It is okay for me to be sitting here half naked right?," she asked, "I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable."
"Of course it's okay," he said quickly, "I want you to be comfortable with me, baby, I'll try not to stare at the wonderment that are your perfect boobs," he joked. "But I just want you to know that I'm also going to be a little too liberal with my nudity now too," he smiled as he continued to massage the gel down her arms and over the reddest parts of her.
She shivered a little from the mixture of his warm hands and the freezing gel cooling her body.
"Good, I like your body."
"Good," he added with a little laugh. "Tomorrow I think we'll take it easy and not hang out in the sun and if we have to go out in it for any reason, you are staying fully covered up, your skin is too beautiful to be sizzling like this…" he told her, making note of the map of freckles spread out over her back like a constellation. He had to hold himself back from kissing the space between her shoulder-blades.
"I want to swim again in that amazing pool," she whined.
He laughed, "Okay but not for hours and this time you'll be wearing so much sunscreen that the pool water will be cloudy."
They chuckled. "Hey Trev," she patted his calf.
"Yeah?"
"I am feeling super nauseous… I've actually been feeling really nauseous since we were on the couch but I was trying to pretend that I was okay because I didn't want you to worry about me."
"Oh, honey, I wish you'd said something sooner…" he told her, "what can I do? Do you think you might puke?"
"Maybe… I can feel that water just sitting there and I'm trying to breathe deeply so I don't bring it up."
"Okay," he told her, "you should keep sipping it though, your body is so dehydrated and you probably have sun poisoning. He twisted around and started piling up the pillows behind him. "This Aloe is all rubbed in so why don't you just lay down on these pillows and I'll go get you some crackers… there's some seltzer water."
"I don't want you to go to any trouble-"
"Stop," he said softly, placing both of his hands on her warm shoulders. "Just let me do what I'm going to do to make you feel better."
"Will you come to bed with me?," she asked sweetly, glancing at him over her shoulder.
"Yeah… of course. I'll just go do a couple of things downstairs but I'll get you something in case you need to be sick…" He slid out from behind her and made his way to the bathroom to get the waste bin. He had only replaced the trash liner earlier in the morning so it was still empty. "Here you go," he placed it beside the bed. "No bed covers, just the sheet," he told her, watching her pull it around her tightly, "please trust me, it'll just make you feel worse."
"Okay, but I'm cold…"
"One summer," he told her as she got comfortable, "I was about 12 or so and Joe and I spent the whole day outside in the pool and then we were horsing around and we were so busy that we just didn't eat or drink much water the whole day and by that night I was so, so sunburned and heat poisoned that Mom had to take me to hospital," he told her, "they told her I was okay but I was vomiting and faint and I remember they told her to put me in a cool bath and to make me rehydrate — I was trembling so violently and it felt like a fever , but eventually it passed, it just felt awful," he assured her, "so even though its uncomfortable, I'll make sure you don't get worse."
"Thanks baby," she said as she pulled the sheet up over her. He kissed her forehead. "I'll be back shortly but you've got your phone here, just text me and I'll be downstairs, I'll come straight up."
"Love you,"
/
Trevor let Olivia know he was popping over to see his brother for a minute and would be right back. Jen had something for Olivia, an electrolyte drink that she gave the kids when they had stomach bugs, she told him it would help with dehydration.
When he got back, he cleaned the kitchen a little from their easy panini dinner and he made her a drink and was at the landing of the stairs when he heard her begin to vomit. She wasn't overly loud, but the TV was off and the house was quiet. He felt terrible for her as he ascended the stairs to his bedroom to find her sitting up, slouched over the trash basket.
"Aww baby," he felt awful for her. He went and put the drink on the bedside table. He pulled some hair from her face for her so she didn't have to try to hold it back herself. "I've got it," he assured her, "I've got you…"
She was almost done. She spat whatever was left in her mouth of her dinner and groaned in misery. "I'm so sorry," she apologised, taking a few deep breaths before pulling her head up out of the waste.
He passed her the water, "here, sweetheart, have a sip-"
"No, no… I need to brush my teeth," she screwed up her face.
"Okay, give me this," he reached for the waste basket. "You go brush your teeth."
"Trevor, I can take care of that, that's disgusting," she murmured.
"I just want to be able to say I've dealt with the vomit of my two loves, you and Noah…" he flashed her a good-natured smile. "I've got it," he took it from her hands and went back downstairs to discard it.
Olivia brushed her teeth thoroughly and began to vomit again and tried to keep quiet, feeling bad that Trevor had encountered it. It wasn't more than bile so she rinsed it down the sink and finished cleaning her teeth.
She shivered her way back to bed and rested back against the pile of pillows hoping that the water she had sipped on might actually make her feel better. She closed her eyes and hoped that she would be able to sleep it off.
Trevor returned and gave her a little smile as he placed a freshly lined trash by her bed again and disappeared in to the bathroom. A few minutes later he returned in his boxer-briefs. He was holding the a damp wash cloth.
"Here…" he pulled the sheet down just slightly and spread the damp cloth over her bare skin above her chest, covering up to her neck.
"Oooft," she shivered, "that's freezing,"
"Trust me," he said again. "That water has some electrolyte replacement in it that I got from Jen, so please make sure you drink it, k?"
She nodded. She didn't look well. He kissed her temple. "Is it okay if I turn the television on and watch while you rest?" he asked, nodding to the mounted TV above his dresser.
"Go ahead…"
He picked up the remote and flicked through until he found a light movie. He put the remote back down and put his phone up. He got up to turn out the lights and got in to bed beside her. He didn't need any blankets or sheets, he was already warm.
/
Trevor woke up twice in the night to Olivia vomiting and a third time to Noah crying and Olivia trying to drag herself out of bed to go to him.
"Babe, stay there," he told her, "I'll go comfort Noah and if he won't settle I'll just bring him to you, don't get out of bed, you're sick," he insisted sleepily. She didn't have the energy to argue, she laid back down, kicking the blankets off of her. He wondered if her body temperature was back to normal.
He got up and padded down the hall to Noah, pulling a t-shirt on as he went. The four-year-old's cries grew louder. Trevor pushed open the door and found him sitting up, crying for his Mom.
"Hey Noah," he greeted him softly, "its okay, I'm here,"
Noah wailed louder for Olivia. "Mommy!" He cried. Trevor lifted him out of bed and in to his lap as he took a seat on the edge of the bed. "Mommy's in bed sleeping, kiddo," he told him calmly, "I can give you a cuddle if you like…"
Noah wrapped himself around Trevor and buried his face in to his Mom's boyfriend's chest and whimpered. "I understand," Trevor soothed him, rubbing his back, "this house is strange and big compared to your apartment… but there's nothing to be afraid of, I promise."
He stood up and rocked Olivia's son until his cries tapered off to soft whimpers. "Its okay, it's okay," he repeated, guiding the little boy's head to his shoulder. He kissed his forehead. "I got you," he told him, "and Mommy and I love you so much," he murmured, wondering if this was how it was going to be going forward, that he too was going to have a hand in being somewhat like a parent.
He didn't want to assume anything, but he hoped it wouldn't be like his last girlfriend who always kept her daughter at an arm's length unless she needed him or it was convenient for her. Deep down he already knew it wasn't like that. His ex would never have even suggested her daughter spend time with him alone, trusting him to take care of her needs the way Olivia trusted him with Noah. He loved kids, he was good with kids and he had a lot of time for the imaginative and for the silliness of being around them. It even made him and his brother closer, enjoying the time with his nephew and nieces and he hoped that one day Noah would think of Joey as his uncle and look to Trevor as a fatherly figure of sorts.
And then, maybe they'd have a child of their own; maybe he would be getting up in the night with an infant, a beautiful baby girl — or an equally beautiful baby boy. He loved his nephew with all of his heart, but the twins really knew how to make a sucker out of him. They had him wrapped around their little fingers since the day they were born.
He wanted to be a boy dad and a girl dad just like his brother and have the best of both worlds. He didn't mind if that was through adoption or Liv giving birth to a child that they both shared, either way, it was what he wanted and he thought maybe he could be more open about that in case she had other ideas.
He realised Noah was sleeping again. He smiled to himself, hearing him breathing peacefully, curled in to his neck. It was such a feeling of calm and love that overwhelmed him and he felt so proud that he'd been able to comfort him despite Olivia not being with him. He leaned over and pulled back the bed covers and very gently and carefully laid the little boy back down and covered him over again.
He winced as Noah stirred a little before rolling over to face the wall. "Sweet dreams kiddo," Trevor murmured before making his way back down the hall to his favourite patient. She was staring at her phone.
"Hey baby, how are you going?," he asked, coming to her side of the bed, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm okay, I'm finally feeling hot again," she replied weakly, "is Noah okay?"
"Yeah, I think he just got a fright when he woke up, he's fine though… we had a cuddle and then he fell asleep again, I put him back to bed and covered him up."
Olivia felt relieved and if she hadn't felt so awful she probably would have been absolutely infatuated with the fast-growing relationship between her son and her man. She had always been so reluctant to not involve Noah too much until there was some deep foundations — but in this case, she knew; she didn't know how she knew it, but there was something different about the way things were between herself and Trevor.
He was sticking around. He was forever, she knew it. And it wasn't like her son didn't already know him; they'd met and spent time together even before she had began dating him. It wasn't like he was a stranger to Noah.
But maybe if she didn't have that feeling in the pit of her guts she wouldn't have even thought about staying with him for a week or two with her son. But Trevor was trustworthy, Noah loved him and was excited to see him and Trevor had all the time in the world for him, it was moving to watch. She had figured out very quickly that he genuinely didn't see Noah as an annoying side effect of their relationship — he relished taking him to do activities, getting him food, helping him with things and teaching him new skills.
After her chat with Jen, she felt even stronger about letting their relationship bloom in its own time, not in a long drawn out process where she set the parameters and bench mark.
And maybe there was something to eventually having children with him, especially when he was proving to be so reliable and responsible.
"Thanks for getting up with him."
"That's okay, you get some rest, baby." He got in to bed and turned off the lamp. Olivia put her phone up and rolled back over. "I love you Trev," she murmured sleepily.
He inched a little closer. "Can I put an arm around you?," he wondered, "I don't want to overheat you."
He heard her yawn, "I want your arm around me," she replied. He smiled and circled an arm around her waist.
"That's better," he said contentedly, "I love you too, goodnight, sweetheart."
/
"How is Olivia today?" Jen asked, hoisting herself up on the kitchen counter, picking up a waffle and taking a bite.
Joey motioned to slap her hand with the spatula.
"She's okay, she's not feeling 100 percent yet," Trevor answered, "and this little one is out of sorts too because he knows Mom's not well."
"Hey Noah," Jen spoke softly to him, "would you like to sit down at the table with the other kids and have some yummy waffles for breakfast?"
Noah just shook his head and buried it in Trevor's neck. He had one arm around Trevor and the other arm cuddling a hard plastic transformer that Trevor tried to ignore, digging in to his chest.
"Looks like he's parked," Joey laughed, "do you want some waffles?"
"Sure… maybe Noah and I can share a waffle, cos I'm super hungry for breakfast…what about you, are you hungry for breakfast, munchkin?"
"No," Noah whined in a small voice.
"Okay, that's your choice."
"I want Mommy," he added.
"Mommy isn't feeling very well, we're gonna let her sleep a little more. Don't you want to play with the kids?"
"Mommy," Noah uttered heaving a sigh.
He glanced at Jen; she gave him an empathetic smile. "Now you know what it's like to have to live with the demands of a toddler…. How old is he?," she wondered, "like, when does Noah turn five?"
"Oh, he only turned four in May, another 9 months or so I guess," he replied. "But he's whip smart, right? And he talks so well… but then so do the girls."
"Yeah, I think somewhere toward the end of the threes they start talking so much that you kind of wish they were babbling senselessly again," Jen joked. "Cos you can't pretend you don't know what they want and they start arguing back."
Trevor just laughed.
"Yeah bro, you are looking all the part right now-"
"Don't," Trevor shook his head, "don't do that, I'm not- we haven't actually had that discussion yet— it's hard to—" he paused, "after Christina not letting me have anything to do with Amy — it's still a bit raw."
Joey shrugged, turning a little serious, the overwhelming feeling of need to protect his brother, hating his previous relationship, "I don't think you guys are going to need to have too much of a talk, you and Liv are solid, Jen and I agreed last night, this is for real so don't mess it up."
Trevor laughed. "Weird, I have that feeling too… that's the only reason why I feel comfortable with this," he nodded toward Noah. "I wouldn't have overstepped or … even bothered if I thought this thing wasn't a 'the one' type situation."
"When you know you know," Jen told him holding up her waffle at him as if she was making a toast to his success. He laughed.
"Mom used to tell me that," Trevor added, "and I used to think it was BS because I didn't know when I met Chrissie… but then Olivia came along and it's this moment of, 'ohhhhh, right, this is what she meant.'"
"Maybe it's just the post-s-e-x affections speaking," Joey pointed out.
"Firstly, you're a jerk," Jen replied to him, "and secondly, Trevor felt like this before they did it."
Trevor felt his face flush, "how do you know we've even done it!?"
Joey glanced at his brother and rolled his eyes before looking at his wife. They both laughed knowingly, "you think we didn't notice how creepily loved up you both were yesterday? I'm going to even go further and say that it happened while we were in town because you had time alone because when we got back, you guys looked like things were going to escalate pretty fast…"
Trevor couldn't help but to laugh and didn't bother denying it. "Leave me alone…"
"Yeah, leave him alone, his face is on fire," Jen chuckled, watching her brother-in-law's face bloom in to redness. He didn't need to check himself out in the mirror to be able to tell, he could feel the heat in his cheeks.
Joey laughed.
"Alright, alright," Trevor changed the subject, "we might skip breakfast, sorry, I think maybe someone else might need to lay down for a little longer, he woke me up at 5 and he got up twice in the night and Olivia was vomiting all night."
"So wait, who needs the lay down here? You or Noah?"
Trevor laughed, "both of us, maybe."
"Take some food to go and you can just reheat it when you all get up…" Joe suggested.
Jen slid off the countertop and grabbed a plate. "Thanks guys," Trevor smiled as he watched his brother load a mountain of food; waffles, eggs, sausage, fried tomatoes and some bacon that he tried to ignore. He didn't want to be rude so he said nothing. He thanked them for their kindness as Jen covered it over tightly so he would't drop it back to his house.
"Come on, bubba, how about we go home and check on Mommy?" Trevor suggested.
Noah nodded. Joey put the plate in a carry bag so that he wouldn't drop it and Jen snuck in a few little cupcakes and cookies. Trevor grinned, "this is honestly why I keep coming back, guys, I never ever eat as well in city life as I do when I come here. Thank you."
"You're welcome, make sure Liv gets some of those cupcakes too."
Trevor gave them a wave and headed back home.
/
"See, Mommy is still here just resting," Trevor showed Noah, pointing at Olivia under the covers. "She didn't feel well last night."
He saw the blankets moving and could tell that Olivia was stirring. "Maybe we see how she's feeling now, what do you think?"
Noah nodded, finally lifting his head from Trevor's shoulder. Olivia slowly sat herself up. She still didn't feel one hundred percent, but she definitely felt better. Her skin wasn't so hot anymore and her body temperature had evened out. She was feeling the heat of the day earlier in the morning so Trevor had turned the air conditioning on in his bedroom and left the curtains pulled closed so it remained dark and cool.
"Hey my loves," she greeted them. Noah held his arms out to Olivia. "Aww sweetheart, what's wrong?," she asked as he dissolved in to tears. She took him from Trevor and pulled him in to her lap.
"I think he's tired and he was worried about you," Trevor informed her. "He woke me up just before 5."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Liv apologised.
"No baby, its fine, I was happy to get up, I just think because he woke up a few times in the night, he's tired and a little grumpy and he really wanted some Mommy cuddles."
She hugged her baby tight. "How are you feeling?" Trevor asked, getting on to his side of the bed.
"Better, thanks…" she smiled at him. "I finished all that water and got up for the bathroom and was able to brush my teeth without wanting to vomit," she was almost proud.
"Good, you look a little better," he replied, easing closer. "I think you should still rest though, keep drinking fluids. We went for a visit to Jen and Joey and were gonna stay for breakfast but Noah wasn't hungry and didn't want to play with the kids, he wanted you."
Olivia ran her fingers through her little boy's hair and kissed the top of his head. "Mommy's fine, my sweetheart," she told him, "I am just not feeling very well… thanks for looking after him all night and this morning."
"Of course… you don't have to thank me, I hope its not weird for me to say it, but… I kinda feel like-" he paused, "no, that sounds too dumb to say out loud," he smiled tightly, afraid she would take it the wrong way.
"Finish what you were gonna say," she pressed gently.
"Mmmm can we talk about it later?," he asked, "sorry, I just have to… collect my thoughts and to say something that's not potentially … inappropriate."
Olivia studied his face and saw that he was a little embarrassed but she knew it was something to do with his role in Noah's life. She wasn't sure how she felt about labels or titles, but she knew that she was more than okay with her son having a wonderful man that he could look up to.
"Okay," she replied with a wry smile, she understood his anxiety around the conversation because she felt it too. She reached for his hand and gave it a squeeze.
"Baby, have you had breakfast?," she asked Noah, feeling Trevor squeeze her hand.
Noah shook his head.
"That's not true," Trevor laughed, "I'm not a monster, I gave him some cereal when we got up but he didn't want it so we shared a banana and then we were happy to go for a walk to my brother's but he got a little spooked and shy when we got there. I think he probably just wasn't as ready as he thought he was to get up."
Olivia regarded her man with a smile. "And did you tell Mommy that we went to feed the horses and the piglets?" Trevor reminded Noah.
Noah looked at his Mom and gave her a little smile, "I fed the horsies and the piggies, Mommy," he told her softly.
"Oh wow," Liv breathed, "you are so lucky," she gushed.
"And we went and had a look at the cows, didn't we?"
Noah nodded, "we had a big morning out on the farm and we got to sit on the motorbike. Tell Mommy where you sat!" Trevor was smiling now as the little boy grew a little bit more animated.
"I sat in the trailer," he told Liv softly.
"In the trailer! You are so lucky, I asked Trev yesterday if I could sit in the trailer, and you know what he said to me?," she asked her son dramatically, "He said, noooo you are too grown up to sit in the trailer, only Noah or the other kids can sit in it," she fibbed.
Noah giggled and looked to Trevor for confirmation. "Its true," Trevor lied, "that's exactly what I said. I made Mommy sit on the back and hold on to me."
Noah giggled again. "Just me, Mommy," he told her.
"Yeah honey, just you and the other kids, you guys are very special. You sound like you had a very busy morning, do you think you might want to eat something else?"
"Jen gave us a big plate of food, so if you're hungry, I can bring you some breakfast…"
"I could get up," Olivia replied.
"No, you guys stay here, I'll bring up some food-"
"No, no… let's get up, I don't want your room to smell like breakfast," she smiled, "we can eat at the table, I can take it easy and maybe we could have a couch day and watch some movies or something unless you have other stuff you need to do."
"Nope," Trevor smiled, "couch day sounds perfect."
/
Olivia went up to the bedroom after their brunch and sat in the window with the curtains pulled up. From the window she could see the rolling hills and the mountains in the distance — it was the most beautiful view and from where she was she could see the pool in the short distance away from the house. It was closer to Joey's house than Trevors and despite what he said, she was sure it was more of his brother's idea.
Noah had been asking to go swimming at lunch so Trevor decided to take him while Olivia stayed back to rest for a little longer. She could see them in the distance and she spotted Joey and Olly too. It seemed like a lovely set up — it could easily have been mistaken for two Dads and their boys. The idea hit her hard, not necessarily in a good way, but she felt instantly filled with concern and self-doubt.
She took a deep breath and let it out, she didn't want to act crazy and intervene on a relationship that was developing — but maybe it was developing too fast.
She was finding it hard to concentrate. She picked up her phone and sent a message to Amanda.
"Hey… are you working right now?"
She checked a few emails and stopped herself before she got too invested in case files. She needed to put them away or else she would stress over them.
Amanda's name popped up, "Nope, what's up? You need to talk? Is everything okay?"
Olivia thought for a second before breathing a sigh. "I guess I just need to bounce something off someone and I don't think I can talk to Trevor about it…"
A few moments later her phone rang. She smiled and picked it up. "Hey…"
"Hey Liv, you free to talk now? Is it a good time? Not getting int he way of any horse riding?"
Olivia laughed, feeling a little embarrassed. "No, it's fine… Trevor and Noah went for a swim in the pool and I'm just sitting up in Trevor's room where it's cool watching them."
"That's sweet, Liv… but it sounds kinda creep if you're all locked in upstairs, staring out over the farm like some kind of shut-in. You love water, why don't you go join them?"
"Well," Olivia chuckled sheepishly, "yesterday we spent our entire day in the sun, I got horribly sunburned and I was sick all night, vomiting, fever, dehydrated, it was an adventure," she joked.
"Oh shit, are you feeling better now? You need to cover up and put suncream on…"
"Thanks for the advice, it's very helpful in hindsight," Olivia replied deadpan.
Amanda laughed and Olivia had already felt herself relax a little. "So what's up? What did you need to run by me?"
She stared out the window at her boy and her man. Olivia sighed, "I guess I'm just worried about Noah being so attached and I feel like Trevor and I have been dating a long time…but it was just so casual, hardly anything physical between us because Noah was always around—"
"Wait," Amanda resolved slowly, "like what? You didn't get to have sex often or you guys weren't making out…or…?"
"We weren't doing much of anything, I only had sex with Trevor for the first time yesterday…"
Amanda gasped, "Olivia! What the fuck!? You have been dating that man for months are you both even real, how did you not both just look at each other and have clothes fall off? Is he a saint? Because I don't know-"
"Look," Liv cut in, "I know how it sounds, but… the opportunities just weren't there and like everything we both just end up syncing up. We both became frustrated with the situation at the same time and we discussed everything and I guess I told him too much about Lewis and it made him scared to make a move…"
"Oh…" Amanda was surprised to even hear Olivia say the name of the man that had kidnapped her superior.
"But… we've always been on the same page since day dot," she explained, "and Noah has always adored him and Trevor has really leaned in to it since we started dating too and now that everything is official and we're communicating os openly, I feel like he has a different confidence with Noah — that by telling one another that there's definitely a future here, he's finally felt like he can step in and help me…"
"There's nothing wrong with that, Liv…"
"I'm scared," she blurted the words out. "I'm scared of something happening, of Trevor dumping me and my own heartbreak? I can deal with that, but I couldn't imagine having to help my baby deal with a broken heart."
"Oh, Liv… it's okay to feel scared," she comforted her, "I feel scared that something might go wrong for Sonny and I and the girls won't deal well with it…but that's life, things might not always go perfect, but we all endure, the kids as well, they're far more resilient than we are."
"I know but… am I being irresponsible?"
"I think you worry about your relationship with Trevor, no one else holds your relationship to any one standard of rules. You have to make choices that are right for you and for Noah in your heart. If you genuinely believe in your heart that Trevor is it for all of your days, then just relax. Know that you could be wrong, but our guts tell us the truth even if our trauma brains tell us something different."
"Yeah…" her voice trailed off.
"What I'm saying is, you have to just take a chance sometimes… you don't have to answer to anyone but Noah and Trevor. I'm not saying that Noah should start calling him Daddy," she laughed, "but… you know, just relax and let each day happen and give Trevor some credit, he must be so in love with you if he didn't care that he had to wait over three months for you to be ready to get back in the saddle."
Olivia laughed.
"And Olivia, I'm gonna be honest, you've got your own set of attachment issues — or detachment at best. Don't project your fears on to Noah or that relationship, especially when you've just let go of it with Trevor…"
"That's actually a very valid point," Liv nodded, her interest piqued, "I've let go of everything with Trevor, I've turned to mush, Amanda, my walls aren't up and I even let him hold my hair while I vomited through the night," she laughed in spite of herself, "but now I'm looking for something to hold back with with Noah."
"Yeah, you're still trying to break a habit that is so embedded within you, I dont think you realise you do it."
"You're right. I should let their relationship develop, I should let Trevor spend time with him and step in where he wants to and just trust him right?"
"Yeah. But Liv, you say this isn't about your heart but I'm gonna call bullshit on that one. You had to work so hard with Noah when you got him, you had to work on building that attachment and you did it. I don't know many parents who have a connection like you and your son. He is secure and he is not going to hate his Mommy if Trevor doesn't work out. His heart won't get broken, Liv, your heart will get broken and I think that's what you're really scared of."
Olivia let out a breath and blinked back tears. "Damn… " she murmured, sniffing, "ever thought of being a shrink?"
They shared a laugh. "Thanks Amanda, I needed to hear that."
"You're welcome… I'm glad to hear things are going so well, Liv, Trevor is a really good man. But… really you have to go make up for all that sex. My advice, unsolicited as it is, is that you need to make time even if it feels like there's no opportunity. It keeps you close and solid together."
"Thanks Amanda," Olivia repeated, "I know you're right about that. I think I was just putting it off in my head because of everything that happened with …. You know," she murmured, "and I was scared to jump all in again, but I think now that the fear is gone, there won't be an issue there."
"If you're feeling better, why don't you go and cover yourself up and go join your man and your son in the pool."
"I should…I'll go take them some water and make sure Noah's suncream has been topped up."
"Good idea Liv. And hey, call me anytime, okay? I'm always here for you."
"Thanks, you too Amanda."
/
Trevor looked up and saw Olivia coming toward them. He smiled. She was wearing the kaftan he had seen her wear the day before that he'd joked about, but in hindsight, it was probably more sun-safe than the bikini top and short jeans she had left his house in. She was also wearing a hat and a pair of sunglasses, holding a few bottles of water.
"Hey guys…" she waved.
"Mommy!" Noah exclaimed excitedly, "Mommy, I jumped in the water!," he told her with a big smile.
"That's great, sweetheart!"
"Are you gonna get in the water with us?"
"Maybe, babe, Mommy just came to bring you boys some water and some sun cream," she told them.
"Liv why don't you take a seat on one of the deck chairs, I'll grab an umbrella from the pool house for you," Joey offered, getting up and out of the pool.
"No, that's okay, you don't have to go to any trouble—"
"No trouble," Trevor told her, pulling Noah to the edge of the pool. "Come on Noah, we'll get out for a minute and have some water and put some new sun screen on,"
"Come on kiddo," Joe spoke to his own son, "that's a good time for you and I to put more sun screen on just like Noah and Uncle Trev."
"Okay Daddy!" Olly swam to the steps and hopped out while Joe set up the umbrella for Olivia.
"Glad to see you're looking better, Trevor said you were really sick during the night," Joe remarked.
"Yeah," she smiled, "it wasn't fun, I'm feeling so much better now, I think I drank my weight of water now and that electrolyte stuff from you and Jen probably helped, thanks for that."
"Anytime. Did Trevor give you some of those c-u-p-c-a-k-e-s?"
Olivia laughed as she sat on the deck chair, "he did, thank you, they were delicious, Jen really puts my cooking to shame."
"She doesn't do much during the day, just looks after the kids and goodness knows that's not real work."
Olivia's mouth hung open agape with shock at his horrifying comment. She glanced at Trevor who's eyes were wide, staring at his brother. Joe glanced back from Trevor to Olivia, blank. "Wha?"
Olivia didn't want to cause an argument, she bit her tongue hard just for Trevor's sake.
Suddenly Joey let out a stitch of laughter, "Calm down guys, I'm kidding, sheesh," he laughed again and shook his head, "I know how hard wrangling these kids are, it's always a joint effort and yes, she's a fabulous baker, but she is a talented and wonderful woman in all areas and I appreciate every single thing she does for the kids and I, promise I was kidding." He added when he saw that Olivia still looked unconvinced.
"Wow, Trevor is right," Olivia remarked, "you are a little bit of a d-head," she smiled at him, thankful that he was kidding about.
"Ahhh you're insulting me, now we feel like family," he joked. He turned to Olly, "come here kiddo, get some sun screen."
"Noah, keep still honey, I can't rub this in properly if you're wriggling around."
Noah turned around so Olivia could finish topping up the sun screen. Trevor fastened the umbrella in to the holder and erected it over the deck chair so his girlfriend could lay, unaffected by the sun.
"Olly, would you like to come here and I can help you with some sun screen?" Liv asked.
Oliver looked a little shy and glanced at his father. "Go on, Auntie Liv can help, it's okay."
Olivia smiled to herself as the little boy came and stood in front of her. "Okay, let's put this on your back and shoulders so that you don't burn like me…" she told him.
"And then can I go in the water again?," he asked.
"Of course," Liv replied as she lathered the little boy's shoulders. Olivia was happy to see Jen and the girls appear at the gate. They both wore ring floats and looked ready for the water.
Liv gave Jen a little wave. "Ohhh! Wait, let me go get you a drink too, Liv…"
"No, no, its fine, I'll drink Trevor's water," she replied, "thanks." Jen came to sit down, placing a cold drink on the small table between the two deck chairs.
"Do you want some food or anything, baby?" Trevor asked her as Joey jumped back in the water to help the girls in with their life ring floats and then had both boys hold on to his shoulders.
"No, I'm fine, I just had a piece of fruit and some crackers before I came out here, my stomach is feeling a lot better now," she gave him a grateful smile.
"Good," he took a seat on the edge of the deck chair for a second, glancing at the water to make sure everyone was okay. "Didn't want to spend the rest of the afternoon reading or whatever?"
Olivia smiled at her man, finding it hard to focus on much else when he was sitting beside her, bare-chested and dripping wet. She shook her head, "Nope, I wanted to come down and see what everyone else was up to. I spoke to Amanda briefly just to touch base and now here I am…"
"And I'm happier for it," he reached over and pushed her hair from her face. He smiled back faintly. "Do you think you might get in with us?," he asked, nodding toward the water.
"Maybe in a little bit, I'm content just watching right now and now Jen is here, I'll annoy her…" Olivia glanced at Trevor's sister-in-law who smiled right back.
"You're not annoying," Jen corrected her, "you're a joy to have around, another woman who I actually don't have to pretend to like," she winked at Trevor, "it's nice."
Olivia chuckled bashfully, "Aww, that's so kind."
"It's true, you're a joy, and also you don't take Joey's S-H-I-T," Trevor laughed. He turned to Jen, "he said some dumb sh… before and Olivia called him a D-head."
Jen laughed.
"You better defend me, wifey!" Joey called out to Jen. She laughed. "Why would I do that? You are a d-head and I can only imagine what stupidity came out of your mouth for Olivia to have said that."
They laughed.
"Okay, better go help a man with all those kids," Trevor got up and leaned over, kissing Olivia's cheek. "Glad you're feeling better, honey."
"Thanks…" her voice trailed off as he jumped back in to the pool, purposely splashing both women. Jen rolled her eyes at Olivia.
"They never really grow up, do they?," she joked.
"Never," Liv agreed. "How's your day going?"
"Great," Jen smiled, "I took the girls to town with me after breakfast and we picked up some groceries and I got some stuff for you and Trev as well…"
"Oh, Jen," Liv felt embarrassed, "you didn't have to, I could have gone in…"
"Nooo, it's fine. Trevor did an order on his phone and I just picked it up for him when I did our groceries, there was no trouble, I'm not trying to overstep, I promise."
"Aw I just feel bad, that's not your job."
"Please don't feel bad, Liv, I do that for Trev when he's here and also you weren't feeling well."
Olivia sighed knowingly, "Thanks Jen, I'll make it up to you, you've been too kind with food and sharing everything and with Noah…"
"It's no trouble, Liv. We really love having extra company and maybe I might be a little over the top, but please just say so, I don't mean to be."
Liv smiles and shook her head, "No, this is actually so wonderful, truthfully, I think for me, family is so … foreign and I have a habit of feeling guilty when people do nice things. Having a sense of community like this is so… beautiful… I really appreciate how sweet you've been."
"That's just us, Liv, family is important and with time I hope that you won't find us annoying after awhile…"
"I don't think so," Olivia smiled. "I think this is actually lovely. I think you're wonderful."
Jen smiled, cocking her head with appreciation. "Thanks…"
/
Trevor loved to see how casual and comfortable Olivia had become once they were alone in the house. She wore her bikini top and a pair of boxer shorts and let herself fall on to the couch. "That took me far too long to get him to sleep tonight," she announced.
Trevor smiled at his girlfriend. "Here…" he passed her a fresh seltzer with a couple of slices of lime and some ice.
"Thanks honey," she replied.
"What do you want to do? Do you want to go hang out upstairs in bed and watch TV or do you wanna have couch cuddles?" Trevor asked.
She thought for a moment before shrugging, "maybe bed cuddles? Your bed is so comfortable, maybe we could watch a movie or something," she suggested.
"Absolutely… come on then," he reached out his hand and helped her up.
/
Olivia had a quick shower to condition her hair and got in to bed in another t-shirt that belonged to Trevor. She put a pair of black lace underwear on and climbed in to bed. Trevor got comfortable beside her and pulled the sheet up over them. He turned the lamp on and waited for Olivia to get comfortable, sidling up to him.
"Hey…" she began, as he handed her the TV remote, "what were you going to say to me this morning when you and Noah got back, you stopped yourself."
Trevor thought about it before making eye contact and shrugged. "I don't know, I guess I was about to say something that might have seemed inappropriate or maybe too premature and I don't want to assume anything."
"Tell me… I'll be honest with you."
"I guess, Joey and Jen told me this morning that the way Noah was clinging to me, cuddling in to me that I looked the part… you know," he looked a little troubled, "and on one hand, it actually felt a nice, if I'm honest, but I told Joey to shut it, because I didn't want to step in to something that you're not comfortable with…. Does that make sense?"
She nodded slow.
"What are your thoughts?"
"I am mildly freaking out from time-to-time over how much Noah loves you and over how your relationship with him is going from strength to strength but then on the other hand, I haven't had to even try to make an effort to get you to want to be around my kid, I feel like it's not forced, that you love being that role."
"I do… I love you but I also love Noah too, he isn't hard work, he doesn't irritate me, I just love being around him, he's a great, sweet little boy and I would be so lucky to have a son like him."
Olivia smiled, "that warms my heart that you think that."
"And I love that you've been so laid back about it as well, that was an issue with my ex, I wasn't allowed to spend time with her daughter unless it suited her and it was a little heartbreaking."
"I'm sorry…"
He shrugged, "its okay… I guess I've always really wanted to be a father and I don't know that I'm going to get the chance to become one and I don't expect to be thought of as Noah's Daddy, but if things work out between us in the long term, I really would be honoured if he looked to me as a strong male figure who can support him in a parental way. I would be the most supportive step parent, Liv, I promise."
She smiled at him, "I already know you would… you're a very kind and sensitive heart and that is my absolute favourite thing about you."
"Ha," he murmured, "I wish you were around when I was a teen, my brother and father really hated how sensitive I was. It's only been since I guess… Oliver was born that Joey has kind of understood that side of me."
Olivia listened to him and reached for his hand. "I think it makes you a stronger, better and more loving man…"
"Thanks Olivia," he replied. He thought about it for a second. "I want to put something on the table if that's okay," he began.
"Of course, what is it?"
"Do you know if you want more children? Is that something that you think you'd want? I don't mean we start trying, but… I guess I just want to know if that avenue is open or closed for you — but I'd prefer if you didn't tell me you weren't sure or give me a maybe if you already know it's not what you want."
She glanced at him and took his hand, lacing her fingers through his. "I always wanted more children. I was just happy that I managed to have one. If the time is right, our relationship is right then yes, absolutely I would be open to having another child. I don't know how I'd go having a baby at my age…"
He smiled, "Liv, you're not old, but its okay, there are other avenues…"
"And," she began, "if you and I were to work out long term and to get married and if Noah called you Dad how would you feel about that? He's so little and I know that eventually he's going to assume that's what you are if you remain in my life."
Trevor shrugged, "I'd be very okay with that, I understand that's a lifetime commitment. If you and I were together for fifteen years and then split up, I'd expect you to still allow me to still have a relationship with him if he's called me Dad forever…"
Liv nodded slowly, accepting it. "That's fair. Unless you cheated on me, if you cheat on me ever, I would never want to be near you again and I wouldn't want my son to be near you either, I don't want him ever thinking that behaviour is okay."
"Also fair, but for the record, I'm not a cheater and I have never cheated on anyone and I never would."
"I do trust you," she said sincerely.
"Good… I won't let you down… time will prove that."
She smiled at him and let him kiss her.
He parted his lips, pulling closer, tasting her tongue. He was gentle and sensual, squeezing her slightly before releasing her, letting his hand fall from around her down to the curve of her hip. She melted in to his arms, feeling a rush of desire course throughout her body that was frankly, unexpected. His touch was electric and she wanted more.
Trevor broke away from their embrace and pulled back slightly, studying her with his pale-green eyes that dilated with desire. "I love you," he told her meaningfully. Olivia repeated the words back. She felt her breath catch as she became aware of him tracing a finger lightly down the curve of one breast through the fabric of her shirt before leaning forward again to capture another soft kiss. Liv moaned softly into his mouth, instantly intoxicated by his brief touch that left her wanting more.
She was turned on by the feel of his lips on hers. She didn't quite expect anything to escalate but now with his mouth on hers and his hands on her body struggling to keep them to himself, she felt more than a little open to the idea of something other than a movie.
She felt a shiver run down her spine as his hand explored the contours of her body, tracing the outline of her curves. He knew exactly how to touch her. It was teasing and brief, grazes of his fingertips, leaving her nerve-endings tingling with urges.
Trevor reached down to the hem of the t-shirt she was wearing, he wanted to pull it over her head and reacquaint himself with her perfect tits. He wanted to cover them with his mouth and feel them under his hands again.
"Want to take this off?" he asked, tugging on the white cotton.
Her pulse raced as he moved closer, kissing her again. "Yeah," she nodded breathlessly, pulling away from his mouth. She eagerly lifted up her arms as he tugged it upward, pulling it over her head. He tossed it aside and pulled back the covers.
Trevor smiled as his eyes took in the sight of her body. He couldn't wait to feel the softness of her skin against his lips. He wanted to tease her hardening nipples with the tip of his tongue. She couldn't ignore how he was staring at her chest as if her body was his next meal. And honestly, she was happy for him to do as he pleased.
He took his time kissing her neck, letting his tongue explore her warm skin as he covered her breast with a large hand. Olivia could feel heat radiating from between her legs as she gripped him tightly, feeling his finger tips tracing the sensitive areas of her breasts.
"Get comfortable..." he murmured, he was a little uncomfortable himself, twisting his body in an odd way. Olivia slid down against her pillow, shivering with the pleasure she knew he was about to treat her to.
This was not entirely how she had pictured their conversation going, but there was not a part of her that minded. Now that he had started, all she wanted was for him to keep going. She couldn't think about anything more. She moaned softly, feeling his hands upon her again, the pad of his thumb rolling her hard nipple as he let his tongue glide over her skin, making his way down to her breast. She watched him, letting her fingers bury themselves in his hair.
As if hearing her internal pleading, he lifted his head and gave her a soft smile. He bowed his head and let his mouth close around breast. She moaned as she felt his tongue circling it the hard bead. She arched her back, pushing herself in to him. He enjoyed her writhing body and her sweet sounds of her moans. It only spurred him on more to torture her more with his tongue.
While he worked on her breasts with his warm mouth, his hands moved across the short terrain of her stomach toward the waistband of her cute panties. He wondered if she was wet yet, surely she had to be, he thought. He couldn't help himself, he gently pushed her thighs apart so he could trace circles on her already damp panties with his index finger.
Olivia almost came undone, she gasped at the way he teased her. He was satisfied to feel her arousal, pleased that he'd been able to make her feel so ready for him so quickly.
She felt him gripping the elastic. She lifted her backside off the matress, understanding what he wanted and what she wanted in a team effort so that they could both reach the destination. Trevor obliged eagerly pulling her underwear down quickly, pulling them down past her knees until she wriggled the rest of them down over her ankles.
He released her breast from his mouth and planted a few more soft kisses over her soft skin before easing himself up a little. He kissed her lips and pushed her damp hair from her face. She looked a little drunk with intoxication. He moved further down, glancing at her entire body, naked and exposed before him. He saw her glistening centre ready for his touch.
Her thoughts were swimming in feelings and thoughts that she hadn't really ever let herself have. The idea of his mouth between her legs like he had promised the day before seemed to make her feel anticipation like she had never encountered.
She felt a finger between her wet folders. His erection grew harder when he explored her softness. She cried out in pleasure; a whimper that he knew meant she liked what she felt. She relished each caress and each swirl of his fingers against her inner-walls. The feeling of pure, unadulterated bliss filled her body, provoking the most intense of sensations within her.
Olivia knew he was watching her, taking pleasure in watching her tremble and writhe around. She opened her eyes and met his. "Stop staring at me," she chuckled, a little bashfully, but truthfully she didn't mind and he knew it. He laughed too.
"I can't take my eyes off you," he replied, planting a kiss on her stomach, feeling an overwhelming urge to taste her.
He kissed his way down, removing his fingers. He felt her suck in her stomach.
"Wait, wait…" she stopped him.
He paused, staring at her, trying his best to concentrate on anything else but the softness and slickness of her core staring back at him.
He looked up, "Are you okay?," he asked.
"Yeah…" she shakily nodded, "just… be soft, okay?"
"Of course love," he replied, "I know what I'm doing," he told her confidently, "but if you don't like it, or if you want something else, just tell me…"
"Okay," she let out a breath and laid back, letting all of her insecurities fall away.
Trevor lowered his face between Olivia's legs, aroused simply by the smell of her. He was turned on by the way she shifted her wide hips to the sky, anticipating his tongue on her sweet folds. A deep sense of relief filled him when his tongue hit the target and he began a slow, deliberate exploration of Olivia's centre: first with his breath, then with a slow warm lap of his tongue.
As she relaxed slowly, feeling his tongue inside of her, she smiled to herself with a feeling of reverence for how keen he was to please her. He saw her lift herself upon her elbows so that she could watch his onslaught of passion. He glanced up at to meet her eyes as he latched onto her clitoris, bathing it with all the warmth and wetness of his tongue's capabilities. The taste of her was immediate; her fluids flowed gently out of her to welcome him, her soft whimpers of delight increased the intensity, almost like they were echoing from her core.
She was as sweet and succulent as she was salty and Trevor relished every taste.
She was so wet, he could barely stand it. The scent of her filled his nostrils, and he stroked her with his tongue, bringing her to a new plateau of pleasure. Her legs spread wider. "That's it, baby, let me have you," he murmured, pausing, looking up to meet her eyes again.
She couldn't help but to grin at him, drunk with lust and ecstasy.
He eyed her as he went back to his work upon her for a few more minutes. He loved how she tasted, the flavour of honey and flowers that was uniquely hers, mixed with the tang of her arousal. Olivia bided her time; she loved the feel of Trevor's breath on her. His tongue circled her bundle of nerves which sent her a little crazy− "fuck," she cried out and dropped back on to the mattress as he devoured her.
It was intoxicating to feel him lose himself to her, to see him so aroused by her body. He licked her with a new energy, the tip of his warm tongue delving into the crevice of sweet nectar that had gathered there. The intensity was building inside of her, and she opened up even more to him, letting herself go. When he moved upward and began stroking her with her tongue, her eyes rolled back into her head with deliriousness: it was here that he could shower all his attention on to that one spot, devoted only to her very own orgasms.
The tingling feeling was building between Olivia's soft thighs, igniting an insatiable thirst for him - for what. She moaned loudly while running her fingers through his thick hair, eager to keep him there. She couldn't believe that this was what she had been missing from every other man before him as he journeyed all over her slick flesh that made the nerves under her skin come to life. There was something about him that allowed her the confidence and sexual freedom she'd never felt with any other partner. With a little impatience for orgasm, she reached down and fell into her own rhythm, Trevor felt her hand reaching just beneath his chin sliding one of her own fingers inside of herself, he met her pace, sliding in one of his own, assisting her.
He lifted his face from between her legs and glanced at her. Her eyes were clamped shut and she took her time breathing in and out slowly. "Does that feel good?," he asked as he looked back to her swollen centre and watched both of their fingers sliding in and out of her, keeping the same rhythm. There was something so inexplicably hot about her pleasing herself with him. He hadn't expected it but he sure wasn't against it.
"Mmhm," she murmured, "so good," her voice was a little shaky. "Is it okay for you?," she asked, her eyes opening to stare at him, almost as if she was worried he might not like her helping him. She almost pulled her hand away as she noticed him staring intensely between her legs, transfixed by her, concentrating on bringing her pleasure.
He peeled his eyes off her to meet her eyes for a moment, "yes," he told her with a nod and a little reassuring smile, "it's so hot to watch you, my cock is hard as a rock," he informed her, reaching down to stroke himself as if to prove it despite the fact that she couldn't see.
He lowered his head back down, sliding his tongue flat against her clitoris. The gesture was so gentle that it only magnified the intensity of what she was feeling. Olivia's hands were all over him, her body shaking with every delirious spell of relief.
Making sure that his tongue had delved deep into her very core, he thrust it as deep as he could inside of her; she moaned deeper and louder. She covered her face with her arm, realising that her son was just down the hall and hoped that he wouldn't wake.
Trevor's breath had become laboured, as though he might need air soon if he didn't stop, but he wouldn't until she was ready to burst. He wanted to hear her cries of satisfaction, he wanted to bring her to the point where she would no longer be able to hold herself together; until he could feel her shuddering beneath him.
He wanted to make her feel things she hadn't felt before.
The mixture of his breathe against her clit and the way he slipped his tongue all the way inside of her made one last surge of pleasure overwhelm her entirely. Olivia moaned with complete abandon, forgetting Noah down the hall. Trevor was relentless, he wasn't stopping until she fell over the edge of pleasure. The fact that he effortlessly managed to make her feel unworldly, enhanced her climax; she felt herself begin to explode from the inside out, He gave a few long slow strokes of his tongue, breathing heavily against the her arousal flowing from between her legs. He slowed down, ending with a soft attack on her clitoris that sent Olivia's body convulsing in a way that she had never experienced.
A rush of satisfaction washed over her as she lay there, weak and exhausted from her rolling wave of orgasm. What she felt for this man in the moment was beyond words. She could feel his warm tongue as it cleaned her up; she found it sweet of him, lapping at her gently with care, careful not to touch the parts that were too sensitive now.
She pulled him up to her and kissed him passionately, tasting herself on his tongue and enjoying the intimacy of it, deciding not to be precious about it at all. She loved how soft the kiss was, how complete it seemed. "Let me make you feel that good," she whispered hoarsely against his lips.
He kissed her back, "just… give it a minute…" he smiled, tracing the frame of her face, "enjoy the buzz…"
She smiled back at him, sliding an arm around his waist, drawing him in as her legs still shook weakly. "That escalated very quickly…" she murmured.
Trevor chuckled, "it did…" He caressed her hair. "But was it okay?"
Olivia laughed, her brain still felt fuzzy she was still unable to think straight. "Was it okay?" She repeated his question before laughing again. "Trevor," she looked him in the eyes, taking his face in her hands, "I have literally never felt like that… ever. Not ever, not once, not ever…"
"Wow, that's high praise."
"I've never had an orgasm that intense, not that that I can remember anyway," she added.
He smiled, pleased with himself. "Can I tell you something?"
"Sure…"
"I really thought it was incredibly hot when you were helping me pleasure you…" he told her.
Olivia furrowed her brows and clamped her eyes shut, smirking; embarrassed.
"Don't be embarrassed," he said quickly, "I liked it," he repeated, "I thought it was super hot and I hope it won't be the last time I get to witness that…"
"Uhuh…" Olivia grinned at him, "lucky I love you and I seem to lose my senses around you…"
"Good, I want you to do what feels good to you in the moment, its really a compliment that you feel that free with me…"
She let out a big, contented sigh. "I love you so fucking much…"
"I love you," he chuckled, kissing her. "
