Who will win? Hulk or Loki?
Find out in…
Chapter 50 – Powerful Foes Part 3
6th of November, Friday, 4:52 pm – somewhere in the outskirts far away from cities
"HULK CRUSH FLAT!" the Hulk roared as it jumped at them.
Sköll and Hati were baring their teeth against the Hulk. However, they remained wary. They could tell from many years of experience that the green man before them was dangerous (even if they did not see how difficult a time Loki had with him).
Nevertheless, their pride would not allow them to back down. Loki, their grandfather had given them orders and they intended to fulfill them.
Hel, on the other hand, could not help but look at the Hulk in disdain and mystery. Just what kind of freak of nature was this… thing? And how could it give her father such a hard time?
She decided not to question it and stretched out her hand against the Hulk.
A powerful orb flew from her hand and hit the Hulk head on.
[BOOM!] A huge explosion and a ball of fire hit the Hulk, sending him flying backwards.
The Hulk landed on his feet. He had been caught off guard and was covered in smoke but was fine otherwise.
The Hulk growled and turned towards Hel with a glare. Before he could attack her, Sköll and Hati used this opportunity to attack the Hulk from the flanks in a surprise attack.
They bit down hard on Hulk's arm and shoulder. Sköll bit into his arm and Hati into his shoulder.
Hulk roared in pain, as the two wolves made bite wounds into his body, causing blood to flow.
Loki, who had taken the time to dust off his clothes, made a satisfying smirk.
"Although, Hati and Sköll are nowhere as strong as Fenrir, their fangs and claws are still powerful enough to seriously injure deities," Loki said to Hel, who stood beside him with her arms folded in front of her.
"I'll admit he is strong but seeing how both of them are biting down on him, he is doomed to die," Hel seconded with a confident smirk.
Oh, how wrong those two were…
The Hulk, although in great pain, used his remaining free arm to grab Sköll by the jaw. He also clenched the hand of his bitten arm into a fist, bulking up his muscles. With his fingers, he slowly pried open Sköll's jaw. Sköll was trying his best to keep its jaw shut, except that the now bulked up muscles made it hard for Sköll to get a grip.
Meanwhile Hati was trying to go for Hulk's huge neck and had bit down hard, much to Hulk's anguish. But the Hulk did not give up. With one mighty yank, he threw Sköll away, sending him flying into a tree.
With both arms free, Hulk could now grab Hati by the jaws. Hati yelped as Hulk put his hands into his jaws and was about to tear him in two.
Sköll had recovered with his eyes red in rage. He was rushing at Hulk and about to bite down on his head.
However, the Hulk saw it coming and swung around to make Hati take the bite.
"YAYAAAAAPPPP!" Hati cried and yelped like a puppy, as he was bitten by his brother in the shoulder.
Hati let go off Hulk and fell to the ground with Sköll.
Before Sköll could do anything to rectify their situation, Hulk kicked them into the distance (and when I said, "into the distance", I meant like a mile or two).
"This… how is this possible…?" Hel looked at the Hulk in shock. She unconsciously took two steps backwards. "Sköll and Hati are extremely powerful beings. How can a freak of nature like that defeat the two of them at once?"
With Sköll and Hati gone, Hulk turned and glared at Hel and Loki.
With a snort, Hulk ran towards them. He had been badly injured from the bite wounds, but for whatever reason, it paid them no heed and ran like it had not been hurt at all.
"Barrage of Explosions!" Hel cried out as she shot out several explosion orbs at the Hulk.
((BOOM!)) ((BOOM!)) ((BOOM!))
The orbs impacted on the Hulk, creating huge explosions. Hel did not stop with one set of barrages, she fired multiple barrages.
One after the other.
((BOOM!)) ((BOOM!)) ((BOOM!))
But the Hulk was not deterred – far from it. Instead, he pressed on, tanking all the explosions as he trudged forward. What's more, his injuries did not seem to stop him either. In fact, weren't they starting to heal?
At this point even fired his own explosions, hitting the Hulk with explosions of his own.
"DIE YOU MONSTER!" Loki cried out in fury and a hint of despair.
The Hulk was finally being pushed back bit by bit. The Hulk realized he could never get to them like this.
Hence, he raised his arms with his hands joined together, forming a fist. He did so, even as the massive explosions hit him…
"HUULLLLKKK SMMAAASSSSHHHH!"
…and slammed his fists into the ground like a hammer.
((((((BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!))))))
Loki and Hel covered themselves as the shockwave and dust blew towards them. It was so sudden and powerful that they had no choice but to stop attacking. It was thanks to this attack that the Hulk regained the momentum.
With a leap he jumped at Hel with a great leap. Before Hel could recover…
"GAAK!" Hel coughed out, as she found herself on the ground.
…Hulk had landed on top of her and pressed her down with his huge hand. Hel lay there, looking at the Hulk above with anger and frustration – but also with fear in her eyes.
"EXPLOSION WOMAN SMASH!" Hulk was about to punch her in the face.
But Loki was faster. With a shot from his staff, Hulk was blown away with another explosive magic blast. Hulk was sent flying into some trees a good distance away.
Hel stood up shakily and looked at where the Hulk had landed.
"Father, this creature is dangerous. We need to leave," Hel told Loki.
But Loki did not listen.
"No, Hel. This creature has humiliated me far too much. I will kill it – whatever it may take," Loki declared with hardened determination and hatred for the Hulk. "But as for you. Go and take Hati and Sköll and get them out of here. Before you go, though… You do have it, right?"
"You mean…?" Hel wanted to ask with her eyes slowly widening in shock.
"Yes, that…" Loki answered with a nod. "It is rare for anybody to push me this far. But it seems that I have no choice. Bring it out."
Hel obeyed and used her magic to summon a staff.
Loki took the staff from Hel's hands and gestured at her to leave.
Hel nodded and using magical circles, teleported herself away.
With Loki by himself, he turned towards the Hulk, who was rushing to attack Loki with a furious face.
"Now… let's see if you can take this!" Loki said and the staff started to glow in a bright blue color.
6th of November, Friday, 4:56 pm – somewhere in the skies nearby
"There! I see them!" Matsuda called out from the cockpit and pointed in a certain direction.
Motohama went up to the cockpit from the back. He spied out at where Matsuda was pointing.
Sure enough, there was the Hulk and Loki fighting against each other.
They had flown for quite some time, looking for Loki and the Hulk. They would not have been able to find them, had it not been for Ddraig who had used his senses to search for them. For Ddraig, it was no problem. Loki, being a God, was very powerful and thus had a powerful aura, too. They had flown a good distance away from Tokyo and arrived at the countryside. To their shock, they saw scars of battles littering the landscape. On their way, Matsuda, Motohama and Ddraig saw fallen trees and deep craters in the ground all over the place.
They could tell just by looking that the fight must have been intense.
And when they finally spotted the Hulk and Loki from a safe distance far from the two fighters' reach, they were astonished.
Loki, having long blueish hair, was not what Matsuda and Motohama had expected to look like. Moreover, he emitted such powerful magic from his body and staff that they could not help but stare in fear.
The Hulk, on the other hand, was even more astounding for they had never seen a being so bizarre looking before. He was green and huge, along with strong and endurant. Every single attack that Loki threw at him, the Hulk took head on. And Loki was a God, was he not? How could such a creature do that? Even Issei would have a hard time, tanking the kind of magical attacks Loki was throwing at him.
Just… what on earth was he?
[Guys, watch out!] Ddraig suddenly called out to the boys.
This awoke Matsuda from his stupor, as he saw Loki fire a huge blue beam towards the Hulk. But the Hulk, although not the brightest, was not so stupid as to take such an attack head on. He dodged out of the way. But now, the powerful blue beam was headed towards the Chopping Board Type 2!
"HANG ON TIGHT!" Matsuda warned Motohama, as the latter braced himself.
Matsuda quickly yanked the remote control integrated into the steering wheel to move out of the way.
(((VRROOOOOOOMMMM!)))
The beam narrowly missed the helicopter and streaked across the evening sky.
Seeing that they were safe, Matsuda breathed a sigh in relief.
"That was too close…" Matsuda remarked. "Is everyone okay?"
[No problem] Ddraig answered. [Partner here is still unconscious but is all right.]
Motohama had stopped bracing himself and was looking at the fight in concern.
"Just how are going to stop that?" Motohama asked as he pointed at Loki and the Hulk, the latter who was jumping past multiple beam attacks.
[I don't think we can] Ddraig answered. [The Nordic God Loki is far too powerful. Even if Partner here was well and twice as strong as he is now, it would be difficult to beat him. And this green monster is very strong to be able to keep up with someone like Loki, so fighting him is also out of the question. For now, all we can do is watch this fight and see how this turns out.]
"Just… watch the fight…" Matsuda repeated Ddraig's words for himself.
"…and see how it turns out…" Motohama finished Ddraig's words.
They could not find a good counterargument to Ddraig's words. Ddraig had a point.
And so, they decided that watching the fight from the distance was the wisest choice.
6th of November, Friday, 4:58 pm – Back with Loki and Hulk
"Stay still, you monster!" Loki shouted at the Hulk, who was still dodging beam after beam.
The Hulk had tried to attack Loki using every possible opening, but Loki had a magic shield around him, which made the Hulk's punches bounce off him. And every time that happened, the Hulk would get shot by Loki's beam which would shoot back and freeze him. The Hulk would quickly break out and thus he tried not to fight Loki head on. He decided to dodge, while trying to find an opening.
"Come on! Where is your courage now!? Come closer and kill me if you dare!" Loki taunted the Hulk.
The Hulk, though greatly angered, did not fall for his taunts. Instead, he decided to run for the distance.
"Running away!? I won't let you!" Loki called as he pursued the Hulk.
The Hulk jumped towards the forest and was tearing out trees and throwing them at Loki.
Loki would destroy the trees with ease with his staff, either hitting them or shooting them.
"Is this all you've got? You have to do more than this!" Loki arrogantly declared.
But Hulk did not stop. Instead, he threw up more and more trees into the sky, causing them to fall towards Loki. Loki blocked them with his shield, as the shield protected Loki from any harm. The tree trunks being thrown were numerous and were obscuring Loki's view, but not much else.
"Seriously, is this the best that you've got?" Loki mocked the Hulk, as the trees kept falling.
After a few seconds, the trees stopped falling. It was then that Loki noticed something wrong.
The Hulk had disappeared. Loki looked around and realized that all the fallen trees the Hulk had tossed had fallen all around him, obscuring his view with a thick layer of debris.
"Oh, I see…" Loki smirked as he guessed the Hulk's plan.
His staff glowed again, as he raised it up.
"You think you can hide from me in this debris, do you not?" Loki asked the absent Hulk rhetorically.
And then the bottom of the staff hit the forest floor.
(((BOOOOOOOM!)))
With a huge blue magical explosion, all the trees were blown away. The radius was fifty meters leaving a huge crater in its wake.
"Well, now you can't…" Loki wanted to say that the Hulk could not hide anymore, but then stopped speaking in surprise.
The Hulk was gone.
Loki looked around earnestly. The Hulk was not in the debris. And if he was, he would have been uncovered easily, as it was too robust to be blown away. And even if the Hulk had been blown away, Loki would have noticed him by now. The Hulk may have been green, but he had a different shade of green from the trees here. He could not have obliterated into smithereens for Loki had fought against the Hulk long enough to know that someone like him would not die so easily.
So, where was this… creature…?
(((((KABOOOOOOOOOOOM!)))))
Suddenly, a loud boom echoed in the air and threw Loki off guard.
"Eargh!" Loki groaned and held his ears closed in pain.
In holding his ears, Loki dropped his staff to the ground. In addition, Loki himself was thrown to the ground from the sudden shockwave, which came out of nowhere.
As Loki was trying to find his bearings, he looked around in a panic.
What was that? Who or what did this? Was it the green man? If so, where was the green monster?
Question after question flooded Loki's mind until the sky above him darkened for some reason.
Alarmed, Loki looked up and saw the Hulk falling from the sky.
"HULK CRUSH YOU!" the Hulk roared, as he descended from above with his fists ready to pound Loki into the ground.
Loki picked up his staff and tried to use his magic to create a shield, but it was too late…
[[[BAAAAAAAMMM!]]]
"AAAAGGGHHHH! AHHHHHH!"
…for Loki could not summon his magical shield in time and was pounced on by the Hulk. His landing caused Loki to lay there mangled by the muscular green man.
As Loki lay there, he looked at the Hulk with defiant eyes and gritted teeth.
"Who… by all the Gods of this World… are you…?" Loki dared to ask in anger.
The Hulk did not answer. Instead, he roared out this phrase…
"HUUUUULLKK SMAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
…and punched Loki in the face.
[BOOOOOOM!] The impact of the punch resonated throughout the forest and into the skies.
6th of November, Friday, 5:01 pm – Back in the Chopping Board Type 2
"Are you guys, alright?" Matsuda asked the passengers.
"Yeah, though I thought I saw my life flash before my eyes," Motohama said rather shaken up, but still fine, nonetheless.
[Partner is as well] Ddraig said about Issei. [Though, admittedly I never thought a clap could create such a powerful shockwave.]
"Wait, you saw that?" Motohama asked Ddraig in astonishment.
[Of course, I did] Ddraig answered. [I may not be able to see everything from behind, but I saw that green creature in the sky clap his hands together and cause the shockwave. I have to say that I did not expect this green man to be so capable. I thought it was just another muscle head.]
"Yeah! I thought he was a brainless brute, but he actually has some intelligence," Matsuda remarked with fascination.
"Yeah, for a second I thought he was going to lose. I thought he was throwing around those trees as a last-ditch measure. But no, it was a diversion. It was a way for him to hide himself," Motohama commented, as he recounted the Hulk's actions that he witnessed from the helicopter.
[Yes, but what surprised me was his jump. Whatever this man or creature is, he is truly strong. There aren't many creatures with the ability to jump that high – even in the supernatural world] Ddraig said impressed.
"Yeah, for a second I thought he was going to jump towards us. Instead, he just landed on Loki…" Motohama stated.
"Yeah, and now that Loki fellow is being pummeled in the face," Matsuda said with a morbid fascination.
Motohama nodded uneasily before looking at the Boosted Gear.
"Say, umm… Loki isn't going to die from that, right?" Motohama asked Ddraig unsure.
[Of course, not] Ddraig answered bluntly. [A God like him is called a God for a reason. No matter what this creature is, it is clearly no God or anyone on the same level. For someone like this green man to put up a fight like that is a miracle by itself. But a God such as Loki will not fall so easily.]
"Really, I don't see Loki getting up so easily," Matsuda remarked and pointed down at the Hulk and Loki.
[What? Get me closer. I want to see the fight for myself] Ddraig demanded.
"On it!" Motohama said and went to the back. "Sorry man…"
After apologizing, Motohama hoisted and dragged the unconscious Issei towards the cockpit.
As Ddraig, Matsuda and Motohama now had a clear view from what was going on down below, they went silent.
[Oh… I underestimated him… the man in green, that is…] Ddraig said astounded.
6th of November, Friday, 5:03 pm – Back on the ground with Loki and the Hulk
"Ugh! Ugh!" Loki grunted every time the Hulk pounded down on him with his fists.
Despite being punched in the face three times, Loki managed to hold on to his staff and create a shield around him. Doing so managed to push the Hulk of him. However, the Hulk did not stop punching him.
He threw blow after blow on his shield to crush Loki. Painful frost was accumulating on the Hulk's knuckles (as Loki's magic was based on ice) and spreading towards the rest of his hands. Yet, all of that did nothing to deter him.
Loki tried to come up with a way to go on the offensive, but he was finding it hard to do so because he was too busy defending himself. Also, his magic power was running low from using so many magical blasts that using more would drain his stamina to the limit.
His current predicament did not help him either.
Loki was dirty because of all the dirt and debris accumulated from the fight. He was drenched in sweat because of how long he had been fighting. He was bruised and his body was aching everywhere. Moreover, he was getting tired as the fight went on. Not since his fights with Thor had Loki been so tired from fighting.
Whereas the Hulk was the complete opposite. He not only remained in good shape, but there was also no sign of fatigue either. The Hulk certainly had been injured in his fight against Sköll and Hati, but his wounds had recovered, as though they had never been there to begin with. What also stood out about him was his temperament. The Hulk was as angry as ever and did not falter one bit.
Just how was it that this green creature could fight so relentlessly and without getting tired? What was he anyway? And for what reason could a creature like him be created or raised in the first place? Was it to cause as much destruction as possible? Where did he even come from?
Loki certainly could not imagine it coming from Heaven or the Church. It just did not seem like the kind of creature they would use. The Shinto faction? Unlikely either. The prefer to use creatures that are typical of Japanese folklore rather than anything as bizarre as this green man.
And the Red Dragon Emperor host named Issei Hyoudou? Loki already decided that it could not be him, as he clearly behaved in a way that indicated that he did know this green monster.
Was he some creation of the Devils? An experimental subject from the Grigori? Perhaps, some abomination from the depths of Hell made by Hades?
Whatever the case, Loki could figure it out later… For now, he needed to figure out how to get out or else he might die! Forget trying to kill the green monster. He needed to escape and think of a plan later.
Come to think of it, he wanted to escape originally, but was so caught up in trying to kill the green monster after turning the tables on it. Loki had been so wrapped up in doing so that he forgot about his original attempt to escape.
"HULK SMASH! HULK CRUSH! HULK PUNCH!" the Hulk said with rage in every punch.
"Tch," Loki clicked his tongue. "This is not good…"
Loki could feel fatigue overtake him. It won't be long until the Hulk finally managed to break through his shield and beat him to death.
Loki had to do something quick. He needed to think – and fast!
And that was when he had an idea. It would help him escape the Hulk while using up little magical energy.
Loki used his magic before the Hulk landed his next blow…
"HULK SMAAAAAAAASH!" The Hulk threw another powerful punch at Loki, only for the Hulk's fist to go through thin air and hit the ground.
A huge dust cloud was formed from the impact.
Almost immediately, the Hulk realized something was amiss. He clearly saw Loki in front of him, only for a bright light to suddenly appear and then vanish. Moreover, Loki could not have simply vanished. Despite his limited intelligence, the Hulk realized that Loki did something to escape. The Hulk used his eyes to look around the dust cloud, trying to find Loki.
Where could he be?
Unbeknownst to the Hulk, Loki had turned himself to a fly and escaped.
"I should have done this earlier," Loki said to himself as he flew away.
Loki did it. He finally managed to escape that green monster and was heading as far away as he could. Once he reached a safe distance, he would transfer back into human form and then search for Fenrir. He already expected Hel, Hati and Sköll to have headed back home in Scandinavia, so he had no need to look for them.
With that in mind, Loki could not help but feel frustrated. He had gone out of his way into Japan to find the host of the Welsh Dragon, kill him and avenge his humiliation. But not only did he fail to kill Issei Hyoudou, he almost was killed by an unknown creature – a green man wearing nothing but those tasteless purple shorts and whose origins and motives were a mystery.
Now, he needed to go back and make a new plan. If there was any consolation, at least he knew where Issei Hyoudou was living. If he needed to find him and kill him, that would be easy.
But for now, he had to put that plan on hold. The green monster was a bigger priority for he had humiliated Loki in such a way than anything Issei Hyoudou had done. And this humiliation was worse than anything Issei Hyoudou had wrought on him. At least, Issei Hyoudou did not humiliate him directly.
What's more, unlike Issei Hyoudou, the green monster was a clear danger to his life given its power and ability to nearly kill him. That was another reason for why Loki had his mind on him.
But Loki would think of a plan later for now, all he wanted was to get some rest and hope that all the Gods back home would not learn about this incident.
They would surely laugh at him if they ever found about it.
Come to think of it, the monster did say "Hulk" all the time, so presumably that was his name, too.
"Hulk, I do not know who you are. But I swear I will kill you as soon as I get the chance…" Loki threatened darkly.
6th of November, Friday, 5:05 pm – Back in the Chopping Board Type 2
"Where did he go?" Motohama asked of his buddies.
"Yeah, he just… disappeared," Matsuda said as he looked down at the Hulk, who was looking around for Loki.
[He probably teleported away at the last second. Something like that is a basic ability for supernatural beings] Ddraig answered Motohama. [I have to say that had Loki not done so, he would have been dead.]
Matsuda and Motohama looked at the Boosted Gear in shock and disbelief.
"Really? A God? Killed?" Motohama said astonished at what he heard.
[Indeed] Ddraig replied. [I do not know what this creature was, but it certainly was powerful enough to handle a God. I find it hard to say so, but it is the truth.]
"Yeah, but then…" Matsuda looked down at the Hulk, who was now raging and roaring in anger. "…if it's that strong, then what are we going to do?"
[I don't know…] Ddraig answered truthfully.
As they were conversing, Motohama spotted some flashes of light down below.
"Hey, guys? Something is happening down there?" Motohama alerted the others.
This got their attention and they looked at what Motohama was pointing at.
[Those are…] Ddraig spoke in surprise.
6th of November, Friday, 5:06 pm – on the ground with the Hulk
"Halt!" cried a voice of a military-like figure.
They were Youkai of all sorts. They were Rabbit-men, Tanukis, Kitsunes, Tengus and so on… the kind of creatures you would see in Japanese folklore. Not only that, but they wore armor and had swords, shields, bows and spears at the ready. They had surrounded the Hulk in great numbers and had their weapons trained at him. They had a hostile look on their faces.
One among them, a male Kitsune with a spear boldly came forward and pointed his spear at the Hulk.
"You have caused massive devastation to this forest and all its inhabitants. You are disrupting the natural order. Identify yourself and surrender now!" the commanding Kitsune ordered.
The Hulk, of course, refused to comply. He looked at them with a growl and gritted teeth, as he got ready to fight.
Seeing this behavior from the Hulk, the commander gave his ultimatum once more.
"Do you not hear me, creature? I said surrender or don't blame us for the consequences!" the commanding Kitsune warned him.
This time, some of the magical users among the Youkai had summoned their spell magic. They were ready to shoot.
But the Hulk did not care about the commander's words in the least bit. Instead, he moved to attack.
"Fire!" the Kitsune ordered, and masses of fire and lighting spells hit the Hulk.
[BOOM!] [BOOM!] [BOOM!]
Multiple spells and magical arrows hit the Hulk one after the other creating a culmination of flames and smoke.
"Commander?" one of the nearby Youkai soldiers spoke up, earning the commander's attention. "Do you think it's dead?"
The commander turned back at the cloud of smoke where the Hulk was obscured in.
"Read the next volley…" the Kitsune said emotionlessly. Though inwardly, he had the harrowing feeling that this foe would not go down so easily.
The moment the smoke subsided, and the Hulk became visible, they saw the Hulk completely unharmed.
This caused all the Youkais to be shocked. Before they could launch the next attack…
"FURRY TALKING ANIMALS! SMAAAAAASH!" the Hulk raged and went on the offense.
This caused panic among the ranks, though some of them (the commander included) held firm and started shooting.
[BOOM!] [BOOM!]
The various spells and arrows hit the Hulk. But the spells left no damage behind. Most of the arrows bounced off harmlessly and those that managed to stick into the Hulk, were pulled out by the Hulk painlessly.
"RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
With this roar, the Youkais were about to lose their nerves. The commander tried his best to keep their fears down as he tried to hold the line. Then, one of the commander's aides stepped forward to confront the Hulk.
"You will not defeat us, monster! I WON'T…" the warrior, also a Kitsune with a spear, declared.
But he could not finish the sentence for the Hulk…
[POW!]
"YAAAAAAAAHHHHH…"
…sent him flying into the sky – like very high.
"VICE-COMMANDER!" "NO!" "BY THE GODS!"
All the man watched their vice-commander in horror as he was being sent with an uppercut into the sky. Unfortunately for them, the Hulk was not finished with them.
"RAAAAAAAGGHHHH!"
"TAKE THIS!" "DIE YOU MONSTER!" "KILL HIM!"
The Youkai tried to slash the Hulk with their weapons, stab him with their spears, bind him using magically enhanced ropes or place him into an illusion.
But nothing worked.
"HULK SEND FURRY ANIMALS INTO THE SKY!" the Hulk bellowed and gave the nearest Youkai – a Tanuki with a spear – an uppercut…
"GAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
…followed by a mouse-like man with a sword…
"BUAGH!"
…followed by three more Youkai that tried to blind the Hulk with light magic, but only managed to annoy him…
"GAH!" "UAHHH!" "KEUK!"
…and did I mention that the Hulk did not care about the female sex?
"Why aren't my charms working…?" a frightened rabbit-woman with an alluring body said, as the Hulk…
"KYYYYAAAAA!"
…sent her flying up as well.
"WHAT IS THAT THING!?" "IT'S A MONSTER!" "HE'S KILLING US ALL!"
All the Youkai warriors shouted in panic, as they started running away.
"CALL FOR BACKUP! HE'S KILLING US A- KEUK! AAAAAHHHH!"
And thus, the Hulk sent the next poor Youkai warrior into the sky.
6th of November, Friday, 5:08 pm – back in the Chopping Board Type 2
"…AAAAHHHH!"
"Was that a scream?" Matsuda wondered.
"I think it is…" Motohama answered.
[CRASH!]
"WHAT THE HECK!" "HOLY CRAP!"
Matsuda and Motohama could not help but yell, as the Youkai head of the Youkai vice-commander popped out of the helicopter floor. His head was bloodied and bruised. His teeth had fallen out and was unconscious.
"Did that thing just send them flying into the Chopping Board Type 2?" Matsuda asked Ddraig incredulously.
[I think it did] Ddraig confirmed.
[CRASH!]
The next Youkai had its head stuck in the helicopter floor.
"Another one?" Matsuda voiced in shock.
Before more could be said, the next Youkai and the next Youkai came up crashing through the floors of the chopper. All of the Youkais were equally bloodied and unconscious.
"Are they dead?" Motohama could not help but ask.
"I don't know. But first we need to get out of here," Matsuda said and was about to steer away before…
[CRASH!]
"GAAAH!" Matsuda screamed in a high pitch, as the female Rabbit-woman was through the floor of the pilot's cockpit.
{WARNING! WARNING! INTEGRITY COMPROMISED! DAMAGE AT EIGHTY PERCENT!} Phoebe announced.
"This isn't good…" Matsuda remarked with a sweat drop running down his cheek.
"MATSUDA! WATCH OUT!" Motohama pointed at something in front of them.
Matsuda looked ahead of him to find – to his shock – a huge Pig Youkai heading towards their wind shield.
Matsuda tried to maneuver out of the way, but it was too late.
[CRASH!]
"WAHH!" "AGH!"
The huge Pig Youkai crashed through the windshield and into Matsuda and Motohama. This made the helicopter spin out of control.
{MAYDAY! MAYDAY! PASSENGER OVERLOAD! EMERGENCY LANDING REQUIRED!} Phoebe blared out.
"I'm… trying…" Matsuda weakly answered, as he and Motohama tried to get the heavy unconscious Youkai off them.
The Chopping Board Type 2 was spinning as it descended in a chaotic manner.
6th of November, Friday, 5:10 pm – back on the ground with the Hulk
Although, the Youkai tried their best to defeat the Hulk, their efforts were in vain. All the 54 men dispatched to deal with the Hulk either were sent flying or were beaten black, blue and red by the Hulk and lying unconscious on the ground. It was a miracle none of them died, as they all had magical armor or protection magic, but the result was still defeat.
Only one exception remained. And that was the commander.
Out of all the Youkai warriors, he was the only one that did not go out in one hit. He had dodged, stabbed and even used his magic against the Hulk. But it was no use. The Hulk would simply take any attack head-on and punch him. Every so often, the Hulk would miss. However, after three blows the commander was beaten. He was kneeling on the floor while using his spear to prop himself up.
"Just what… kind of monster… are… you…? Cough!" the commander coughed blood.
He had been injured with no way to heal himself or escape.
And the worst part of it all, the Hulk was standing before him with his fist raised…
"HULK… SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
(((((BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!)))))
The forest echoed for the umpteenth time because of one of the Hulk's heavy punches.
With that humongous punch, the commander was knocked out of the fight, lying there among all his comrades.
The Hulk looked around. There was no other enemy around. And it seemed like Loki was not around either.
He decided to leave. He headed off to a random direction and was jumping to wherever he desired.
Meanwhile, unknown to the Hulk, the Chopping Board Type 2 was spinning towards the ground and was heading towards a nearby hill.
[CRASH!]
The helicopter crashed loudly as it landed on the ground.
The helicopter smoked and was badly damaged, but thankfully for Matsuda, Motohama and Issei, they were still alive.
"Ugh… Ouch…" Motohama winced from the pain as he stumbled out. "We're alive…"
"Yeah… though the crashing was worse than the last one… agh…" Matsuda groaned from the pain. "Hey, help me out here…"
"Oh, yeah…" Motohama replied, as he gave Matsuda a hand.
Together, they hauled Issei out, who was still unconscious.
After they laid Issei on the ground, Matsuda turned to the wreckage of the Chopping Board Type 2.
"Dismiss…" Matsuda said as he pressed a button on his remote and the helicopter vanished.
The unconscious Youkai were left sprawled on the forest floor.
[They are still breathing] Ddraig noticed.
"What should we do with them?" Matsuda asked of Ddraig.
[Leave them] Ddraig advised Matsuda. [They can recover just fine on their own. Besides, their comrades are probably on their way.]
"Yeah, don't want to be around for that. Come on, Motohama let's go," Matsuda said to Motohama.
And so, Matsuda and Motohama went with Issei propped up between them.
As they descended the hill back towards the city, Motohama could not help but ask.
"How are we going to deal with the green guy now?" Motohama asked.
"Yeah, and what about Loki? They're both still around," Matsuda said, as he looked around for them.
[Forget about them. Besides, they have both left the area. Loki left just a few minutes ago and I cannot sense that green monster anymore, so I assume it has left] Ddraig responded to them. [For now, we head back. We've done more than enough for today.]
"We have?" Matsuda voiced skeptically.
[Yes, we have] Ddraig answered affirmatively. [The helicopter has a camera function, does it not? And you recorded the fight, too, didn't you?]
"Record?" Matsuda voiced surprised. "I didn't…"
"But I did," Motohama spoke up with a toothy grin. "I pressed it when Ddraig told me to."
"When was that?" Matsuda asked with astonishment on his face.
Motohama looked at him puzzled. "Do you really not remember? It was shortly after we spotted Loki and Hulk for the first time."
Matsuda frowned in confusion. It seemed like he did not.
[I think he may have been too busy flying the helicopter to notice. After all, he was so focused on flying I do not think a pinch would have woken him up] Ddraig joked. [Heck, even porn waved in front of his face would not have gotten his attention.]
As a result, Motohama was laughing on the way, as Matsuda tried to argue to the contrary on that evening.
Issei, unfortunately, was unconscious this entire time and would not wake up until the next day.
As the trio had gotten a good distance away, a group of Youkai teleported to the area. Those Youkai, unlike the ones from before, were very powerful and did not lose in strength compared to High-Class Devils.
In shock and horror, they saw their unconscious friends and comrades sprawled on the ground, bloodied and bruised.
"Someone help them!" one of the Youkai said.
Some of the Youkai went straight to work.
The leader, a Nine-Tales-Fox woman in a yellow obi and a voluptuous chest, was stunned and did not have any words to say.
"Who did this? Who would dare to attack us like this?" the female leader said, as she became filled with rage at the atrocity.
And that was Chapter 50 of The Lone Vigilante Issei.
The fight (admittedly) was probably less epic than I expected. But to be fair, this is just the first out of many fights that the Hulk will go through, so it will get better in later fights.
I must admit, I did not expect to write about our heroes watching and commentating about the fight from a distance only to be "shot down" unintentionally.
I also did not expect to even write about the Youkais this soon – especially the part where they get sent flying into the air. That part was pretty fun to write.
Also, this will not be the last time the Hulk makes an appearance. He will be back for the next arc. That I can promise you already.
Also, things have become more complicated now that the Youkai faction has become involved as well.
How complicated you may ask? You will have to find out in the next chapter, as it deals with the aftermath.
In the meantime, what did you think of this chapter?
Did you like it?
Please read and review, I would like to hear from you.
And as always, I hope to see you around next time.
Until then.
