Keefe woke up with a start to the sound of... was that crying? Keefe checked his clock, it read 3:28. He jumped out of bed and pressed his ear to the door. Could his parents be fighting again- oh right. Keefe mentally slapped himself.

"Get it together Sencen!" Keefe leaned into the door a bit more but the crying had not changed it was quiet and muffled but from what Keefe could hear it sounded feminine. Keefe was confused as there were no girls in the house except for- RO!

"Is Ro okay?" Keefe's thoughts were chaos as he cracked open his door to check on her. He peeked out and he saw was shocking to say the least. Ro had sat down in the hall and had her head in her knees. Her shoulders were shaking and she was quietly crying?! Ro looked up and wiped her eyes.

"You can go back to sleep kid. i'm fine." Keefe tensed before opening his door all the way and walking out of his room.

"I don't believe you. Like at all." Ro glared at him.

"if you were fine you wouldn't be crying at 3 in the morning." Keefe sat down next to Ro. Ro scoffed

"I was not crying i'm just tired." Keefe looked at her disbelievingly.

"I'm going to sit here until you tell me what's wrong." Ro clenched her jaw and crossed her arms.

"Nothing's wrong i am fine." Keefe rolled his eyes before speaking.

"if you caught me crying, you would not leave me alone until i told you why." Ro groaned and put her head in her hands. This is what she got for acting like a huge wimp.

"I'm fighting a losing battle aren't I?" Keefe nodded. Ro rubbed her forehead and groaned. But before she could stop herself, she started speaking barely a whisper.

"It's just... this place is so different then everything else. You guy are all..." Ro's voice trailed off and she looked away before continuing.

"You guys are all elves and i'm... not. I'm not normal here. You guys don't have royalty or anything like my home." Ro's voice went so quiet Keefe had to strain to hear it.

"You guys don't have my dad." Ro put her head in her knees again and started sobbing quietly. Keefe's heart broke, was he really so selfish that he didn't notice how Ro was feeling? Keefe put his hand on her shoulder. That seemed to have to opposite effect as Ro started crying harder. They stayed like that for a while until Ro's cries diminished and she looked up. Ro opened her mouth to speak but before she could say anything, Keefe hugged her tight.

"Thank you." Ro eventually said after Keefe pulled away.

"You're welcome." Ro looked at the clock above them which now read 4:11.

"We need to go to sleep." Keefe nodded before standing up.

"I made up the cot for you." He said walking into his room. Ro nodded and layed down.

"Good night." Keefe punched his pillow into a comfy position.

"Good night." Ro did the same. and they both fell asleep.

THE NEXT MORNING

Ro woke up and stood. She looked around and saw Keefe had gotten up already. Ro walked out of the room and saw Keefe sitting with Sophie and Sandor in the living room.

"Hey Ro how did you sleep?" Sophie asked.

"Good." Ro answered.

"So Ro when you were asleep i called Foster and Giantor over and we talked and Giantor agreed to watch me for today!" Ro blinked

"okayy??" Keefe rolled his eyes.

"So you can go to Ravengog and visit!" Ro's jaw dropped before she looked at Sandor

"you sure you're not getting blackmailed?" Sandor let out a squeaky sigh.

"unfortunately princess, this is of my own free will." Ro's face slowly spread into a grin and she looked at Keefe.

"This was all your idea?" Keefe nodded and Ro tackled him

"thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!" Keefe hugged her back.

"You're welcome. Now go! Your time is ticking." Ro jumped off Keefe and ran out the door shouting,

"goodbye!" Sophie turned to Keefe.

"I did not think she would care that much." Keefe snickered as Sophie picked up the vase Ro had knocked over when she tackled Keefe.

"Shatter that thing. It's ugly anyway." Keefe ducked as Sophie threw the vase against the wall.

"I meant outside but yeah that works too." Sophie blushed as she started picking up the glass that had spattered everywhere.

"Do you want to go to Everglen?" Keefe nodded.

"Yeah but leave the glass i've got it." Keefe moved his feet and all the glass shot up in the air. He dumped it in the trash and grabbed his imparter.

"let's go." And he grabbed Sophie and Sandor's hands. And the elfs and goblin glittered away.
