Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

Let's get to it.

Chapter 2- End of the Calamity

Link leaps backwards as Ganon slams its fist down into the ground, trying to crush Link. He then dashes forward, managing to strike Ganon's fist with the Master Sword twice before it recoils. Ganon then releases a stream of Malice flames, forcing him to leap back.

Link has been fighting Ganon for quite a while now. And it has been the hardest fight of his life. Ganon's power is immense, and it has taken all of Link's strength and skill just to stay alive while also chipping away at Ganon.

But Link is starting to get worried. He may be in incredible shape and an excellent fighter, but he can't last forever. And Ganon is still far from being done. He still has a lot left in him.

Link tries darting under him to strike at his legs, but Ganon lets out a burst of energy from his body, throwing Link back. He then whips around, and his tail strikes Link, sending him tumbling across the ground.

From her position hiding behind a tree at Link's urging, Zelda watches on in horror as Link is knocked down. She has been watching the battle between Link and Ganon with amazement and horror, and her fear for her appointed knight has only grown as the battle has progressed, as she has watched Link slowly tire. Yet, her confidence in Link has so far kept her from trying to help somehow. But she is now no longer sure she can stay out for much longer.

Link gets back to his feet. Ganon gets down on all fours and charges at Link. Link sprints to get out of its way and slashes at its leg as it goes past. Ganon roars in pain, but spins around and bats Link away with its scaly forearm. Link is again knocked tumbling. This time, before he can recover, Ganon fires another beam of energy from its mouth, this time striking Link.

"Link!" Zelda screams out, fear gripping her for the fate of her knight and friend. Link struggles to get back to his feet, trying to gather his strength. However, Ganon reaches down and digs its hand into the ground, gathering up dirt and rocks before throwing them at Link. Link tries to avoid it, but is hit by a small rock and knocked back down.

Zelda stares in wide-eyed horror as she sees Link go down again. She cannot believe she is seeing this. For the first time, Link is losing a fight. She had begun to believe Link could defeat any enemy face. Now, she is watching him be beaten down.

Ganon stomps forward. To her horror, he conjures up a blade of pure Malice, starting to raise it to strike Link down once and for all.

At last, Zelda can wait no longer. For some time now, Zelda had begun to develop feelings of love for Link, but had kept them to herself, knowing that her father and others would not approve, and it could spoil their quest to defeat Ganon and awaken her power. But now, she cannot keep her feelings contained any longer. She cannot just stand back and watch as Link is killed by Ganon.

Zelda springs out from behind the tree and runs towards Ganon, her hand outstretched, crying out slightly in fear. "No! Link! Link!" she cries out in fear. Link is trying to get up, but struggling.

Ganon stops over him and raises his blade of Malice. Zelda reaches out desperately and all but screams out for her hero, "LINK!" She feels her heart starting to break, knowing she is about to watch the man she loves die right before her eyes.

Then, suddenly, Zelda feels something. A rush within her, and a feeling of warmth from within her that staves off the unnatural cold around her. Then, a brilliant light begins to shine out from her palm, an image of three triangles arranged into a larger triangle appearing on the back of her hand. Then, brilliant light energy explodes out from her hand. The light washes over Ganon, and Ganon freezes in place. A second wave of energy then explodes out from her hand, and this one forces Ganon back and away from Link.

Link pushes himself up on his hands and stares in shock at Zelda. The light begins to fade, and reveals Zelda is staring in equal shock at her hand, stunned at what just happen. Both of them can hardly believe what they just saw. After so long of Zelda actively trying to unlock her power, she has now used it completely out of the blue. What happened?

The two of them stare at each other in shock at what just happened. However, Link is soon forced to redirect his attention back on Ganon as the beast regains his strength and prepares to attack Link again.

Link regains his feet and sprints away from Ganon, trying to get a better position and draw his attention away from Zelda. However, it is right then that he sees something that brings a surge of hope. In the distance, he can see Van Ruta atop a mountain, and a massive beam of sacred energy streaking out from its face towards Ganon. Glancing to the north, he sees a similar beam streaking out from Rudania.

Link turns back to face Ganon. A second later, the beams from Ruta and Rudania, as well as beams from Vah Medoh and Van Naboris he hadn't seen yet, slam right into Ganon. Ganon screams and roars in pain as the beams pummel him into the ground, engulfing him in sacred energy as they pound away at him. This last for almost 10 seconds before they cease, engulfing Ganon in one final explosion.

Zelda and Link watch the smoke intently as it slowly clears. Ganon is lying on its back, motionless for a moment. Then, he slowly begins to get back to its feet.

But Link is not about to give Ganon a break. He charges towards the massive demon, Master Sword in hand. He reaches Ganon and drives the Master Sword as hard as he can into Ganon's side. He slashes away, striking Ganon again and again with the Master Sword.

It doesn't take too long for Ganon to regain his strength enough to move again. Link sees Ganon raising his fist to strike Link, and he leaps away, avoiding the blow. Ganon then regains his feet and roars angrily at Link. Link charges forward to meet him again.

Zelda looks at Link as he continues to fight Ganon. Even after all the wounds he has sustained and how tired he is, he is still fighting with everything he has. As she looks at him, she realizes just how much she loves him.

The battle continues for several minutes. Link is tiring, but he is still fighting with everything he has. On the other side, Ganon is tiring, and it is obvious.

Finally, Ganon begins to stumble. Link presses the advantage, slashing at its fist when Ganon tries to pummel him into the ground. Ganon recoils from the pain, but Link is not done. He leaps onto Ganon's fist and runs up Ganon's arm. When he reaches a ridge partway up the arm, he uses it as a springboard and launches himself up into the air. Link lets out a fierce war cry as he reaches Ganon's head, and then he brings the Master Sword down as he begins to fall again. The Master Sword cleaves into Ganon's form, carving down the front of Ganon's body as he falls back to the ground. Finally, Link pulls the Master Sword back and backpedals off Ganon, landing rather gently.

Ganon collapses to the ground, roaring in pain. The wound the Master Sword has inflicted has sapped much of its strength. And now, Zelda steps forward once more. Raising her hand, the triangle mark appears on the back of her hand again, and light begins to shine forth from her hand. A massive ball of light expands out from her hand, expanding slowly until it reaches Ganon. Ganon roars in anger as it struggles to resist Zelda's power, but it is no use. The light expands over it, and begins slowly tearing its form apart. Ganon roars in anger and pain, and slowly, its form comes apart until its physical form is no more. A phantom of Malice struggles to escape, but it is no use, and it is trapped within the light. After several moments, the light shrinks to almost nothing before vanishing, the Malice vanishing with it.

Moments pass in silence. Then, the sky begins to return to normal, the clouds surrounding Hyrule Castle vanishing. Across the surroundings of the castle, all of the Guardians that had been taken over by Ganon collapse as the Malice within them disappears, no longer functioning as they lose power.

Link and Zelda stand in silence on the plains of Hyrule Field, staring in silence at the spot where Ganon had been only moments ago. Then, at last, Link and Zelda turn to look at each other. After a moment, Link slides the Master Sword back into its sheath. "We did it," he says in a quiet voice.

Zelda is quiet for a moment, then lets out a cry of happiness and relief and runs to Link. Link is surprised as she pulls him into a tight embrace. "We did it, Link! We defeated Ganon! It's all over!" she cries with happiness and joy as she hugs Link tightly. Link returns the embrace after a moment, allowing him to let the barriers he has maintained for so long to lower a bit and revel in the feeling of victory.

The two hold each other for a moment before separating. Link smiles at Zelda and says, with a hint of pride in his voice, "You did it. You unlocked your power at last. Just in the nick of time."

Zelda smiles brightly, a few tears in her life. Then, without warning, Zelda grabs Link's face, pulls him towards her, and kisses him.

Link is frozen where he stands. He had not expected anything like this. He knew Zelda's feelings towards him had softened from the initial indifference, but he had never realized that she had romantic feelings for him.

After a moment, Zelda pulls back slightly, but is still holding Link's face. "Link…I cannot hide my feelings any longer. I have tried to keep it to myself, but I cannot any longer. I feared so much to lose you, and now…I think that may have been what allowed me to finally touch my power. Link…I love you," she says.

Link stands there in complete silence, trying to digest that and figure out a response. Zelda starts to fear a bit as Link still does not react. After a moment, she says, "Please, Link. Say something. And please, speak to me not as my appointed knight, but as a man. Cast your responsibilities aside and tell me what you truly feel. Please. And I promise…if you do not feel the same, I will leave you be and not pursue you. But I had to tell you."

Link continues to stand there, trying to gather his thoughts. He has spent so much time maintaining his tough, emotionless exterior in order to fulfill his duty he has trouble getting past it. But something is stirring deep within him. It has since the moment Zelda kissed him. Link reaches deep down to try and see what it is. And finally, the bands he has kept on himself for so long to try and keep himself professional and loyal to his duty can no longer contain his feelings, and they burst. Link finally realizes the depth of his feelings, and how he truly feels towards Zelda. Link now takes Zelda's face in his hands, pulls her in, and kisses her.

Zelda breaks down in tears of joy and kisses him back. The two remain locked in their passionate embrace for several long moments before they pull apart. Link looks into her eyes and says, "Now that Ganon is gone, I cannot lie to you or myself anymore. I think I have loved you as well for some time."

Zelda begins to cry even more, and she embraces him tightly, the two just holding each other tightly, glad to just be in love.

King Rhoam is feeling very anxious. It has been some time since the delegation left for Hyrule Field.

The last hours have been crazy for King Rhoam. He had been shocked when Ganon had appeared from below Hyrule Castle, and especially when he turned the Guardians against them. It didn't take long for the Guardians to begin assaulting the castle. Rhoam and his guards had been just trying to survive, moving through the castle to stay ahead of the Guardians while taking down any they came across. They had lost a number of guards, but had managed to destroy several Guardians.

However, relief had finally come when Link had begun his battle against Ganon. The Guardians had begun to peel away from the Castle. King Rhoam had been outside the Sanctuary when Zelda had managed to unlock her powers, and he had seen it. He had felt a great sense of relief when he saw the light of Zelda using her power, and the Divine Beasts launch their attack on Ganon.

He and his guards had watched the rest of the battle, including Zelda actually sealing Ganon away. Rhoam felt an incredible feeling of relief and triumph, and ordered a group of guards to make their way down to the field and bring Zelda and Link back to the castle. However, now, he's starting to wonder what is taking them so long.

Finally, he sees the guards coming up the pathway leading up to the Sanctuary. But immediately, he knows something is wrong. He can see no sign of his daughter or of Link.

The guards reach the king, and he immediately asks urgently, "Where are they? Where is my daughter? Where is the knight?"

"We do not know, my king. A man confirmed he saw them alive on the field after Ganon was defeated, but we could not find them. We searched everywhere around where they were last seen, and found nothing. Nothing at all," the guard says.

The king stands there, frozen in place, now very worried. Ganon has been defeated, and Hyrule will be safe. But where is his daughter?

And, I'll end the chapter there.

I hope I did a good job writing this out. I know, the fight with Ganon wasn't super detailed, but I hope it was still good.

Next chapter will show the direction this story is going to start going in. It will be up soon, and until it is, please leave a review and stay tuned.
