Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

First of all, I finally finished playing Tears of the Kingdom yesterday. And…holy shit, that game is the best video game ever created in my opinion, with one hell of a story. Pardon my language.

I absolutely loved it, and may write a fanfiction or two in the future about it. But, in this story, I will include some elements of Tears of the Kingdom's story. Not all, but some. I won't spoil any more than that. As for the other Zelda story I have going right now, I have something different, and maybe bigger, in mind for that one.

Alright, enough praising Tears of the Kingdom for now. Let's get to the chapter. This takes place just a few days after Revali and Urbosa found Link and Zelda.

Chapter 6- A New Arrival

As the sun rises high over the coastal lands of Hyrule, Link smiles as he enters Lurelin Village. He's wearing a hood to somewhat conceal his face. Thankfully, enough people here don't know what he looks like as Link to recognize him so easily.

Link makes his way to the shop in town that sells food and other household supplies. Walking in, he sees the store owner sitting behind the counter, reading a book. He looks up and smiles. "Ah, Elroy. Good to see you again," the store owner greets Link, using the fake name that Link had created for himself that the locals who know him refer to him by.

"Same to you," Link responds. He starts perusing the food and other supplies for sale, picking a few items and sticking them into the sack he brought with him, including some fruits, clumps of herbs, some radishes, and sticks of butter. He also spots a blanket sitting among the blankets for sale. Thinking Zelda would like the design, he picks it up and adds it to the sack.

After a few minutes, Link feels like he's got a good haul for today and approaches the counter. The owner looks at him and says, "Got what you're looking for?"

"Yep," Link says, opening his bag to ensure that the shopkeeper knows exactly what he got.

The shopkeeper quickly tallies up the cost of what Link picked out, then says, "Alright, that's going to be 85 rupees."

Link fishes some rupees out of his money bag and hands them over. "Alright. Have a good day, Elroy," the shopkeep says with a smile.

"You too," Link responds before slinging the sack over his shoulder and heading out of the shop.

As Link exits the shop and starts walking through the village, back in the direction of the cottage, Link suddenly runs into Dallin, a local fisherman that is one of his friends here in the village. Dallin is one of the very few who knows Link and Zelda's true identities, and has agreed to keep their secret from the kingdom.

"Link! Good afternoon!" Dallin greets him.

"Dallin," Link greets him in return.

"Just into town for supplies?" Dallin asks him.

"Yes. We were running a bit low on some food," Link responds.

"Were you able to get that hole in the roof fixed? If you need, I can lend you some tools," Dallin asks Link curiously.

"I was, actually. Thank you for offering," Link answers.

Suddenly, just north of the village, a large, forking lightning bolt suddenly streaks down from the sky, a loud clap of thunder echoing over the surroundings. Everyone in the village who is outdoors looks in the direction of the lightning. Everyone is confused as to where that came from. Everyone, that is, except Link, who knows exactly what it means.

"Sorry, Dallin. I have to go," Link says hurriedly before he sprints away, heading back towards his home.

Link sprints out of the village, running as fast as he can, almost flying over the landscape as he races back to his home. Although the journey takes only minutes, to Link it feels like an eternity.

Link finally reaches the cottage and throws open the door. As he does, Terrako comes scuttling into the front room, beeping and trilling wildly. Link tosses the sack with all of the goods he just bought onto one of the couches and rushes towards the bedroom, Terrako scuttling behind hi, still trilling wildly.

Link bursts into the bedroom. Immediately, he sees Zelda lying on their bed, breathing heavily and clutching her stomach with one hand, while squeezing Urbosa's hand with the other. Urbosa is crouching beside the bed, trying to keep Zelda calm.

Both women look up as Link rushes into the room. "Link," Zelda gasps in relief at the sight of her husband before her face scrunches up again and she clenches her eyes tightly shut as another pain wracks her body.

Link is instantly at her side, resting a hand on her forehead. "I'm here, Zelda," he whispers.

Zelda opens her eyes again and looks at Link, some tears in her eyes from gratitude and pain. "I knew you would be," she whispers.

Link looks over at Urbosa. The Gerudo Champion looks back at him and says, "She began feeling her child pains right after you left. I thought it would be slow, but her water broke much sooner than I expected. That's when I summoned the lightning to signal you."

"How long do you think?" Link asks.

"An hour at minimum. Likely several hours," Urbosa responds.

This hurts Link's heart. He has been so excited this entire time that he forgot about the pain that Zelda would have to go through when it came time for their baby to arrive, and it pains him to think of all the pain Zelda is going to have to go through to bring their child into the world.

"Link." Link looks down at Zelda as he hears her whisper his name. Zelda looks up into his eyes with desperation as she asks, "Please, stay by my side."

"Always. I will be here every step of the way," Link says, now taking her hand and squeezing it slightly. Zelda smiles at him before another contraction hits her and she squeezes Link's hand to deal with the pain.

As the time slowly passes, Link remains right next to Zelda, whispering encouraging words to her and trying to take her mind off the pain. Urbosa is busying herself trying to prepare, alternating between monitoring Zelda's progress and gathering what materials she will need. Having experience from not only helping women of her tribe give birth, but also from when she had her own daughter a few years ago, she knows exactly what to do to help Zelda have the easiest experience possible.

A little over an hour passes with relatively little happening before Zelda's pains suddenly begin to get much more painful, and come with more frequency. Zelda had endured her earlier pains pretty well, an act that seriously impressed Link with her resilience. But as her contractions get a lot stronger, within minutes, Zelda is almost sobbing from the pain, and all but crushing Link's hands.

Urbosa is watching Zelda carefully. After just a few minutes of this, Urbosa says, "I need to check you, Zelda." She crouches down at the end of the bed and checks Zelda. A second later, she straightens up and looks right at the princess. "Little bird, it's time," she says.

Zelda suddenly feels a wave of fear and anxiety wash over her. Her entire pregnancy, she knew she was going to have a baby, but she always envisioned it as some far off event. Now, it's really happening, and the anxiety is catching up with her. She looks up at Link and says, "Link, I'm scared."

Link looks her right into her eyes, trying to keep his expression as calm as he possibly can. "I know, my darling. But I'm right here, and I will be right here. You have done amazing things, and I know you can do this too. I know you can do this, and when it's over, we will have our child in our arms at last. We can do anything, together," he says.

Zelda just looks at him for a moment before she nods and says, "I love so much, Link."

"I love you," Link responds.

Zelda now returns her attention to Urbosa and nods once. Urbosa nods in return. She gently spreads Zelda's legs apart sufficiently and says, "Alright. Zelda, when you next feel a pain, I need you to push down as hard as you can."

Zelda nods in response. A few seconds later, she feels a contraction beginning, and she pushes as hard as she can, crying out from the pain but continuing to push.

Link remains virtually motionless, just holding her hand tightly and whispering occasional words of encouragement into her ears. At moments, Zelda feels this is the only thing keeping her going, as the pain is so extreme she cannot help but scream from the pain.

Minutes pass, and the cottage is filled with the sound of Zelda's screams as she continues to push. Link is trying his hardest to keep his expression calm to avoid making Zelda even more scared. Urbosa is still calm as ever, coaching Zelda through it as she keeps watch for the baby.

After what seems like an eternity, Urbosa looks up at Zelda. "Zelda, the child is crowning."

Zelda feels a surge of hope. It's almost over. Summoning as much of her strength as she can, she keeps pushing.

After just a few more pushes, Urbosa says, "Zelda, all you need is one more push, and your baby will be here."

"You can do it, my love. Just one more," Link says encouragingly. Zelda looks up at him, tears in her eyes and her exhaustion clear on her face.

Zelda gathers what strength she has left. Then, as she feels another pain coming over her, she bears down with everything she has, screaming as she pushes as hard as she can. Moments pass, and then, Zelda feels an incredible relief come over her as she feels something slide free from her body.

A brief moment passes, complete silence in the air. Then, a sound echoes through the room. The squawling cry of a newborn baby. And to Zelda and Link, it is the most beautiful sound in the world. Link helps Zelda lift her head a bit, and both of them look down at Urbosa. Urbosa smiles as she looks back at them, and then she straightens up a bit, revealing a baby resting on a towel in her hands, crying loudly to announce their entry into the world.

Zelda feels the tears begin to run down her cheeks like rivers as she begins to sob from pure joy. Urbosa smiles more brightly as she says, "Congratulations, princess. You have a son."

Urbosa uses the towel to wipe off most of the fluids covering the baby's body before she wraps him somewhat in a blanket before leaning up to lay him down on his mother's chest. Zelda cries out with joy and relief as she reaches up to hug her new son tightly to her. She looks up at Link with pure joy and love and says amidst her tears, "Link. We have a son."

"Yes. And I could not be more proud of you," Link responds, planting a kiss on her forehead. He then looks down at the face of his newborn son, his heart filled with love and pride. At last, he is a father.

Zelda and Link sit there for several minutes, Link holding Zelda and Zelda holding their son, both just revelling in their joy and the feeling of being a family. The silence is finally broken as Urbosa says, "Congratulations, princess." She smiles and says, "Do you have a name picked out?"

"Yes," Zelda says with a smile. She looks down into the face of her son, who has mostly quieted down now, and says softly, "His name is Elron."

"A good name," Urbosa says. She pauses for a moment before she says, "I still have some work to do to clean you two up, but I'll give you a moment." She then turns and leaves the room.

Link and Zelda sit in silence, staring down at their son, both filled with overwhelming love. At last, their son is here, and they could not be more happy or in love with him.

This…this is the life they have dreamed of.

And, I'll end there. I hope you liked this chapter. I don't have children myself, so I've never witnessed a birth, so I hope the whole birth sequence was alright.

Also, as for the name of their son, it is just a name I made up myself.

Next chapter will be up soon. Until it is, please leave a review on this one, and stay tuned for more content!
