A/N: Changes have been made to chapter 1 and 2
Sasuke walked in solitude, his steps purposeful as he made his way towards Orochimaru's hideout. The echoes of his intense battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End reverberated in his mind, each strike and word exchanged were etched deeply within him. The wounds, both physical and emotional, served as constant reminders of the path he had chosen.
As he journeyed further into the darkness, Sasuke's thoughts danced with a mix of determination, longing, and an unyielding thirst for revenge. The memories of Naruto's unwavering belief in their friendship flashed before his eyes, testing the resolve he had built. But Sasuke pushed those doubts aside, his heart fueled by the memories of his brother Itachi and the tragedy that had befallen their clan.
Sasuke hardened his resolve. "No, there is no turning back," Sasuke murmured softly to himself, his voice laced with conviction. The image of Itachi's lifeless body falling to the ground surged through his mind, igniting a fire within him. "I cannot rest until I have seen Itachi's life fade away before my very eyes."
The weight of his ambition bore down on him, and his determination was unshakeable. Sasuke knew he had to complete his goal, no matter the cost. He needed to reach Itachi's level, to surpass him in strength and skill. The thought of witnessing Itachi's defeat consumed him, driving him to train relentlessly and sharpen his abilities to their utmost potential.
"I will not waver," Sasuke declared firmly, his voice resolute. "I will dedicate myself to honing my skills until I am capable of facing Itachi head-on. I will leave behind my home, my friends, and my family if necessary. For this ambition, I am prepared to make any sacrifice."
The gravity of his words settled upon him as he continued his solitary trek, the weight of his choices becoming palpable. Sasuke knew that the path he had chosen was arduous and filled with darkness, but he embraced it wholeheartedly. Every step forward only reinforced his determination, solidifying his resolve to see his ambition through to the end.
"I will not falter," Sasuke whispered, his voice carrying a mixture of determination and longing. "Until I stand before Itachi, until I witness the life drain from his eyes, I will not return. My journey is far from over, and I will train tirelessly to become the instrument of my own destiny."
With his gaze fixed ahead, Sasuke continued his solitary march, the weight of his goals propelling him forward. He was determined to walk the path of darkness, and become the agent of his own redemption, no matter the sacrifices required along the way.
Naruto and Jiraiya stood in a vast training field, the sun casting its warm glow upon them. As they prepared for another day of rigorous training, Jiraiya took a moment to debrief Naruto on the formidable members of the Akatsuki they were up against.
"Naruto, it's important that you understand the level of danger we're facing," Jiraiya began. "Among the known members of the Akatsuki, two stand out: Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki."
Naruto had heard whispers about the infamous Itachi Uchiha, a figure shrouded in mystery and darkness.
"Itachi Uchiha, a former member of Konoha, is probably one of the most dangerous shinobi ever produced by our village," Jiraiya explained, his tone tinged with caution. "His expertise lies in genjutsu, and he is widely regarded as the best in the entire elemental nation. Itachi's mastery extends beyond genjutsu; he is proficient in all other ninja arts as well. His speed and strength in performing hand seals are so exceptional that the human eye can barely track them. Even seasoned jōnin struggle to keep up with him."
Naruto's mind raced, trying to grasp the magnitude of the threat Itachi posed. He knew that facing such a skilled and versatile opponent would require him to push his limits like never before.
"But that's not all," Jiraiya continued, his voice dropping lower. "Itachi's true power lies within his eyes. He is a prodigy of the Sharingan, a once-in-a-generation expert. With his Sharingan, he can ensnare his opponents in genjutsu simply by looking at them, or even choose to place them under its influence without eye contact. Itachi is truly a force to be reckoned with."
Naruto took a deep breath, the weight of the challenge settling upon him. He understood that facing Itachi would demand every ounce of his strength and resilience.
Jiraiya then turned his attention to Kisame Hoshigaki, another member of the Akatsuki. "Kisame, also known as the 'Monster of the Village Hidden in the Mist,' is a formidable adversary," Jiraiya explained. "He possesses an immense amount of chakra, said to rival that of a tailed beast. Kisame specializes in water-style ninjutsu and wields the powerful Samehada, a unique sword that devours chakra."
Naruto listened intently, his mind conjuring images of Kisame's formidable abilities. He couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency and determination building within him.
"When Itachi and Kisame infiltrated the village, they proved their strength by overwhelming highly skilled shinobi like Kakashi, Asuma, and Kurenai," Jiraiya continued. "They didn't stand a chance against him. The only one who posed a threat was Guy."
Naruto furrowed his brows, trying to piece together the puzzle. "Why was Guy-sensei the only one that stood a chance?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
At the blonds question Jiraiya smiled "the answer to that my young apprentice is taijutsu"
"Taijutsu, the art of hand-to-hand combat, is often underestimated in the presence of powerful ninjutsu and genjutsu. But against opponents like Kisame and Itachi, who possess extraordinary abilities, taijutsu can provide a critical advantage."
Naruto listened intently, eager to grasp the significance of taijutsu in their upcoming battles.
"Kisame's mastery of water-style ninjutsu and his formidable weapon, the Samehada, make him a formidable opponent," Jiraiya explained. "While ninjutsu and genjutsu may be challenging to counter, taijutsu allows us to engage in direct physical combat. By closing the distance and engaging Kisame in close quarters, we can limit his ability to utilize his water-style techniques effectively."
Naruto nodded, understanding that by relying on taijutsu, he could potentially nullify some of Kisame's advantage in long-range attacks and overpower him with his own physical prowess.
"But it's not just Kisame," Jiraiya continued. "Taijutsu will also play a crucial role when facing Itachi. His expertise lies in genjutsu, which can be disorienting and devastating. But by focusing on taijutsu, we can disrupt his control and prevent him from using his genjutsu to its full potential."
Naruto's eyes gleamed with determination as he envisioned himself engaging Itachi in an intense close-combat battle, not allowing him the opportunity to ensnare him in his illusions.
"Moreover, taijutsu is a fundamental skill that strengthens our physical abilities," Jiraiya emphasized. "By mastering taijutsu, we enhance our speed, agility, and reflexes. This will be essential not only in our encounters with Kisame and Itachi but also when facing other S-rank members of the Akatsuki. Since you also don't have a specific taijutsu style, this is a perfect place to start."
Naruto took a deep breath, absorbing Jiraiya's words. He realized that by improving his taijutsu, he could push beyond his limits and match the incredible speed and strength of the Akatsuki members.
"With taijutsu, we can level the playing field," the blonde said.
At this, Jiraiya smiled, "Exactly, my young apprentice, you need to level the playing field, make your enemy fight on your terms or on terms that are not favourable for them, exploit their weaknesses, and fight them on equal ground."
"Yes that makes sense, level the playing field, If my opponent has an advantage over , I need t-"
"Alright, Naruto, let's have a little spar, no? See where we are at," Jiraiya said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Remember, this is just a practice spar, so don't hold back."
Naruto nodded, his fists clenched, and his body was ready for action. He knew that this spar with Jiraiya would be an opportunity to showcase his current strengths and for Jiraiya to evaluate his skills.
As the sparring commenced, Naruto charged forward with a flurry of punches and kicks, showcasing his brawler-like style. His movements were quick and agile, driven by his determination to prove himself.
Jiraiya, on the other hand, effortlessly dodged Naruto's attacks, weaving around him with a grace that showcased his mastery of taijutsu. He observed Naruto's movements, analyzing his strengths and weaknesses.
After a few exchanges, Jiraiya managed to grab hold of Naruto's arm, immobilizing him. Naruto grunted in frustration, realizing that his brawler style lacked finesse and precision. It was clear that he needed to refine his technique.
"You're a natural brawler, Naruto," Jiraiya remarked, releasing Naruto from his grip. "Your attacks are powerful and relentless, but they lack precision and finesse. To truly master taijutsu, you need to have a more structured approach."
Naruto frowned, realizing that he needed to learn a specific taijutsu style to augment his raw strength and make his movements more efficient.
Jiraiya reached into his pocket and pulled out a scroll, handing it to Naruto. "This ancient scroll contains the secrets of a unique taijutsu style. Take some time to study it and incorporate its techniques into your own fighting style."
Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement as he accepted the scroll. He knew that this was a valuable opportunity to refine his skills and develop a distinctive taijutsu style of his own.
"Thank you, Jiraiya. I'll make sure to study this scroll thoroughly," was the reply from the blonde
Jiraiya grinned and patted Naruto's shoulder. "I have faith in you, Naruto. I believe that by incorporating the techniques from this scroll, you'll take your taijutsu to a whole new level. Just remember, mastering taijutsu requires discipline, focus, and practice. Train hard, and I have no doubt you'll become an exceptional taijutsu practitioner. Naruto nodded, his gaze fixed on the scroll in his hands. He understood that this was just the beginning of his journey to master taijutsu. With the scroll as his guide and Jiraiya's wisdom to rely on, Naruto was set.
"Alright kid, you focus on that while I continue my research," Jiraiya said with a mischievous grin. "I heard that there's a premium hot spring nearby; it's going to add some valuable material to my series with all the beautiful ladies bathing there." Jiraiya started to walk away, giggling to himself.
Naruto dismissed Jiraiya's presence. His interest in the scroll was peaking.
