My next chapter of Imagine, and I finally introduce the demons of Halloween. Hopefully everyone is okay with them. Anyway, enjoy this chapter, please.
It was night again by the time we reached Transylvania, which is where the demons resideā¦sort of. You see, they live in the nether world, which is sort of like another dimension, like a shadow zone. There are portals all over the world that connect to where they live, like in Ireland or places that seem unworldly, but the portal I use is located in Transylvania. The one I use is like my personal doorway to visit; they know I always go through it.
When we got to the right place, Jack was still confused.
"So, how exactly are we going to visit the demons? You said they live in the nether world."
"Yeah," I said. "A shadow zone dimension, which means, it exists in the same place we do, but you have to cross a portal to get there."
"I know, but where is the portal? It's not here." Yes, it was true. The only things that surrounded us at that moment were barren trees in a barren glade; nothing that even resembled a portal was there.
"I have to summon it, silly," I said in a haze, but then I snapped myself out of it; I could not fall asleep right now.
"You can use magic," asked Jack, still confused.
"Anyone can summon it, and you don't have to use magic to do it."
"Then how do you do it?" I was a little eager to show Jack how I got into the nether world; it was impressive. Of course I wasn't sure how things were going to go once we got there. I was mad at the demons, but they were still my friends, at least I hoped so. Also, they've never met Jack before, and that might cause a different turn of events, in what way I wasn't sure.
I started to summon the portal. I pulled out my sword and stuck it in the ground; I pulled out my dagger drew a wide circle around it; I pulled out my whip and wrapped it around my sword; lastly, I pulled out my bow and arrow, my favorite weapon, stood behind the sword, loaded my arrow, drew back my bowstring, and shot straight forward. The arrow flew through the air, and vanished into nothing.
"Wait for it," I said excitedly. The view in front of us, around where the arrow disappeared, churned and turned until it created a swirling portal that was just as dark as the night around us with some pigments of brown so we could tell where it was.
"One portal, without the magic," I said proudly, turning to Jack, who was astounded.
"Why'd you have to do that stuff in the ground?"
"Because you have to give it your all when summoning a portal to another world; for me, that was using all my weapons. I decided instead of throwing them all into the same place, I'd just do this," I said, indicating the circle on the ground.
"That's creative," said Jack. I simply smiled and replied, "I know."
My arrow appeared back in my quiver, and I shoved my bow back in.
"My trusty arrow," I said. "What would I do without you?" I proceeded to stash the rest of my weapons. Jack and I then approached the portal.
"Ready to do this," I asked Jack.
"Why are you asking me?"
"You've never been," I said simply.
"I guess," he said. I turned to him.
"I got to warn you; the nether world is a scarier version of earth."
"Pitch takeover-scary, jump-scary, or adrenaline-scary?" I just shrugged my shoulders. "I shouldn't be too bad; I took on the king of nightmares."
"Good to hear," I said. I jumped in the portal. After a bit of turns and twists, I appeared on the other side, inside the nether world. Jack ran into me from behind. I caught myself before I fell over.
"Welcome to the nether world, Jack." I said.
"It looks like where we left," said Jack. We were still in a barren glade with barren trees, except now the portal was behind us.
"Not exactly," I corrected. "You may notice it's darker and the trees are more jagged. Scarier version of earth, remember; except, the only residents here are demons."
"How many demons are there?"
"Not that many, surprisingly, but one of their powers include being in more than one place at once. That's how Halloween can be celebrated all over the place."
"I guess they could be really handy against, Pitch."
"Yeah, but they're too dumb. They think Pitch is a good guy, and that's only because they share the same job." We walked on for a bit.
"How will we even find the demons?" asked Jack.
"They'll find us," I replied. "They know whenever I use that doorway," I said indicating the portal. "That's so I don't wait for them forever." We continued making our way through the jagged forest.
"Jack, here's another warning for you. The demons base their entire lives on being scary, so the only way they recognize a person is from the face they make when they're scared. I'm just telling you, you might want to keep your guard up, because they're going to try to scare the pants off of you when they-" Just then, a goblin appeared out of nowhere, jumping five feet in the air in front of me, stretching his face out by pulling his ears, and wagging his tongue around and then throwing his arms all over the place. It startled me, and that is why I jumped and held onto Jack, screaming briefly as I did so. The goblin regained itself.
"Hey Ema," he waved, happily smiling. "Nice to see you again."
"Hey Goblin," I shakily waved. Goblin looked over Jack, who didn't seem that scared, just on alert.
"Who's your friend?" asked Goblin.
"This is Jack," I said regaining myself. "Jack Frost." Just then a ghost appeared right in front of Jack, and made its head huge. Jack was startled briefly, releasing a small scream.
"Nice to meet you Jack Frost," said the ghost, holding its hand out for a shake, which Jack reluctantly took. "I'm Ghost, and you obviously already met Goblin." Jack offered Goblin a small side wave. "Anyway, it's great having you back, Ema," said Ghost floating up to me, and giving me a ghost hug.
"Listen guys," I said to them. "We need to talk."
"We'll get to that," said Goblin. "First, everyone's going to want to see you again. They will also want to meet your friend here. Come on let's go." With that they started dragging us to where the rest of the demons were; hopefully not that far away.
So, what'd you think of that. Tell me in your reviews, oh and stay tuned for the next chapter, I promise it will be more exiting.
