I'm really sorry I haven't written in a long time. I really did like this point of the story, and I didn't know how to write it exactly. I figured it out, so here it is. I hope you enjoy. P.S the first part is a flashback.

"Ema, are you okay?"

"Go away, Jack. I'm not in the mood to talk to you right now." I was back at my tree, crying my eyes out at what I just discovered. I didn't have any memories. I was never a person.

"I know your situation may seem bad Ema, but you should know I'm here for you."

"You're a Guardian now! You won't be; you'll be too busy; protecting kids."

"Well…you're technically a kid too, at least physically. I want to help you find your memories. I will find your memories, and then you'll see you're somebody."

"I don't have any memories! So don't waste your time." I curled myself up into a fetal position.

"Ema, please know that I care about you. You're one of my closest friends. I've known you longer than anyone else. In fact, I was actually a little worried about you these past few days."

"You know I was in a desert, I was fine."

"I didn't know that at the time though. I was worried that something might have happened to you, especially when Pitch said…"

"Pitch?" I stuck my head out of the tree and climbed out. Jack was resting against the trunk.

"What did Pitch say?" I asked him. Jack took a deep breath.

"He knew what my biggest fear was. I was worried about you, because you're the only one who ever knew that. With him as a threat and me not knowing where you were or if you were alright, I…" I hugged him.

"It's okay Jack. Don't you worry about this nobody. I didn't tell him anything, in fact I've never even met him." I released from the hug. "In fact, if I ever do meet him, he'll get an arrow where it hurts," I said pulling out my arrow.

"I don't know if you stand a chance against his nightmares," Jack chuckled.

"I don't know what that means," I said. "You should be assured in knowing that nothing is going to happen to me. Nothing I won't let happen."

I was awake after having that nightmare you read about in the last chapter. If I was freaked out after that last nightmare, after that nightmare I was even more freaked, I was panicking. I knew what was going to happen. I had to find Jack and we had to get out of there. I was turning pale and that pale was turning to translucent very fast.

"JACK!" I called out really loudly, which admittedly was a bit foolish. I got up frantically and went to go look for him, but he was right there.

"Ema, what is it? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I said panting. Then I went motor mouth. "An illusion alarm just went off in my head, it told me danger's coming; we have to go!"

"You were more confidant during our last fight with danger; what happened to you?"

"We don't have time to mess around Jack," I cried shaking him by the shoulders. "WE HAVE TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!" Before we could, an illusion crow of mine flew past squawking. We were too late.

"That's your illusion alarm," said Jack. "Why did you have another one go off if you already knew about it? That makes no sense."

"It doesn't have to make sense, we just have to leave!"

"No, something is going on here. Something you're not telling me."

"You can figure it out later! WE NEED TO GO!" My image was practically flickering in and out like a bad reception ghost at that point. I went to go drag him out of there but we were then surrounded by nightmares. Jack readied his stance, as did I, braving myself a little and going back to being pale. I pulled out my sword. Pitch came riding in and I scowled.

"Ah, you were here. What about that?"

"Stand down, Pitch," said Jack. "Tell us where Ema's memories are, and she won't kick your butt like she did last time."

"Oh, but Jack," he said bemused. "Surely she told you by now. She didn't really win that last battle, and she knows it too; look at how scared she is."

"Come on, Pitch we saw you flying off in the distance. Besides, how would Ema know that she didn't really win?"

"Come on Jack, you're a smart 325 year old boy, surely you should know that your closest friend has been hiding something from you."

"Yeah, I knew that, but she could tell me in her own time, especially if it's something like she didn't really win. I can understand how she'd want to hide that."

"Jack, Jack, you can't see the whole picture. That's because a little miss has been painting over the truth; excellent job, Ema." My shade went back to normal as my fists clenched, because I didn't know what I was feeling. Pitch went on. "Let me clear the window of truth for you by asking you a question: have you noticed anything peculiar with the last few times she went into stasis, or should I say, fell asleep." I couldn't look at Jack and Jack noticed.

"Ema, is it true?" I said nothing. "I was right. You were falling asleep all those times before."

"I didn't want you to make a big deal out of it."

"But it is a big deal Ema, you don't sleep."

"So what if I fell asleep. Nothing happened, in fact I kind of enjoyed it," I lied.

"I'm so glad you say that, Ema," said Pitch, "because nowadays, most people aren't a fan of their nightmares." Jack looked at me again.

"Don't tell me that's also true," said Jack. I didn't look at him. "I knew that too. Why weren't you telling me these things!?"

"I didn't want you to worry about me."

"Yes," said Pitch. "There really was nothing to worry about. She was just having a "Nightmare", not like it was real, or anything." He was irked; his composure than changed. "Of course, that is if you ignore the fact we were having conversations in those nightmares."

Jack was really shocked now, as was I. Pitch was revealing all the truths I didn't want revealed.

"You were having conversations with Pitch?!" said Jack. I nodded, and started to turn pale. "You weren't telling me any of this!"

"Yes, she wasn't telling you anything, it sort of makes one question their friendship with someone with all the lies they tell. I'm not really sure if she's truly your friend."

"I may tell a lot of lies," I blurted out, "but this is true. My friendship for Jack is true!"

"Really, Ema, stop lying to yourself; with all the lies you tell, Jack has no idea who you really are." I fell to my knees.

"I know her enough," said Jack defiantly.

"Really," said Pitch amused. "Do you know that she pulled herself into that second nightmare even though she knew it was a bad idea? Yes, she wanted to talk to me."

"Why?" said Jack to me.

"Well, for one thing," said Pitch. "I tell her more than anyone else does. More importantly though, she really wanted her memories; she thought she could talk to me in trying to find them."

"Ema, is this true?" I nodded, breathless and shaken.

"Yes, I said I would give them to her on certain conditions. Is that true Ema?" I nodded again.

"You didn't like the conditions. You were unsure of yourself, but don't lie to yourself when I say this, you couldn't help but think about my proposal this entire journey." Tears were starting to come out, but I nodded again.

"He asked you to join him, didn't he? He said it when he met you, didn't he?" asked Jack shocked as ever. I nodded again. "You told me all he wanted to do was destroy you; why would you lie to me about that?"

"Because she didn't want you to know that she had actually considered my offer," said Pitch. Jack was aghast.

"You…You did what?" I couldn't even look at him. I didn't know this feeling before. My body was starting to get cracks. "Why would he be trying to destroy you then?"

"Well, I don't want to destroy her, but she's being difficult. I really wish she would hurry up to see the truth and take my offer. We have so much in common, it would be better if we worked together."

"She won't ever join you. Just leave her out of this. It's me you want revenge against!"

"True, really true, but I just can't 'leave her out of it'. Ever since the man in the moon claimed she's the next guardian, it's just something I have to take care of."

"You will leave her alone," said Jack raising his staff.

"Open your eyes, Jack," said Pitch. "She's not your friend; not really. In fact, she's been lying to you her whole life, not even telling you about the friend she had before you; the friend that if you knew about, you would look down on her." Jack looked back and forth between me and Pitch.

"No, I won't believe it."

"Of course you won't, but how about Ema elaborates for us. Tell us Ema, have I lied?"

The next thing I said completely shattered me. "He's not lying."

I saw Jack. He didn't know what to think but it was all too much for him.

"I can't believe you! I thought you were my friend!"

"I am…"

"No, Ema, friends don't lie to each other! Especially not as much as you have! I think I know how Pitch knew my greatest fear now, and I don't think you ever even told me yours."

"I didn't tell…"

"Yeah, you never did," said Jack. "You know what, if you're so chummy with Pitch, you can deal with him on your own. I'm outta here." He flew off.

"Jack, no," I tried to reach for him. Black splotches began to appear along the edges of my cracks. I broke down and sobbed. My fear had come to pass; Jack knew the truth, he left me, and now I was alone.

"All it took was that and he stopped being your friend. You'd think he'd be less trusting of me. Just comes to show I was right, he never really believed in you. I was just trying to show you that. Maybe now you can see the truth; I understand you. I can help you. Just join me, and we can both get what you want." Please. I knew he had caused my misery. I was not happy with him in the slightest. I clenched my fists as my skin changed to red, my hair turned red; I even felt my eyes turning red. I got really hot. I stood up, slowly and shaking, I then erupted into the biggest inferno I've ever conjured, enough to maybe set the forest on fire. I quickly pulled out my bow and shot a missile at him.

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" In the explosion I flew off, to the one place I knew I could let everything out.

Poor Ema. When I said I really liked this point, I meant I liked it in an author way. I found it very interesting. What did you guys think? Tell me in reviews.
