I just love these cliffhangers, but that's just the type of author I am. Things are getting sticky; What will happen? You have to read to find out! Next chapter to Imagine! Enjoy!
Oh no; things have just gone from bad to worse. Mini-me said it herself, she's no match for Pitch. How was she going to get out of this and rescue me! Mini-me wasn't exactly focusing on that at that moment; she was surveying her surroundings and weighing all her options. How could she think she could get out of this? She may have my powers but she doesn't my experience.
"Well, well, well," said Pitch. "Ema Fay; it seems you escaped my box trap."
Wait a minute; hold the phone, I had just gotten an idea. Pitch thinks Mini-me is me! He doesn't know Mini-me is just an illusion. Mini-me is also a bad liar, but if Pitch realizes Mini-me is just an illusion of me, he will leave her alone. She wouldn't be worth his time if he knew she was an illusion, because illusions can't do much on their own.
What he won't know is I gave her certain powers to help save me. The truth will set me free. Huh, after lying for most of my life that's a little ironic. Problem is, Mini-me will have to hide the fact she has all of my power, and I'm not sure how well she can handle that. So, all Mini-me had to do was fib her way out of this one.
Before I could even instruct Mini-me however, she started acting on her own.
"Yep, it certainly seems that way," she said. Okay, now all I had to do was instruct her.
"I'm a little surprised to see you out here, Ema. How'd you pull off your escape? I thought you were powerless in boxes." 'Okay, Mini-me, listen to me, this is what you have to do…' I started. I was cut off again.
"That's where you're wrong, Pitch." What was she doing? "It will take more than a box to take away my power. I will always find a way around it; always find a way to beat you. In fact, Ema Fay might as well be the greatest threat you've ever faced. There is no being in the world that can match her power, as in to say mine. She will find a way to defeat you, for you've been threatening the wrong people; and when that final showdown happens, it will be a spectacle to behold, as I always promise it will be. Ema Fay will be the victor." Seriously, what was she doing!
"Ema," he said, trying to be as calm as possible. "It almost seems like you're asking to be destroyed."
"What if I am? Ema Fay will never fall down a dark path; she's too amazing for that. I know where my loyalties lie, and if you want to destroy me for it; FINE! Go right ahead! My legacy will continue as long as people believe in Ema Fay."
"No one believes in you. When you get destroyed you will disappear for good!"
"That's a lie, and I know lies. Maybe I will disappear for good, but the essence for what I stand for will live on. There are still people that believe in Ema Fay, even people I didn't even expect. Many people are counting on me; many people are counting on Ema Fay. They need me and they need her. They need her and everything she stands for, I know I do. The world needs Ema fay; it could never be the same without her. If you're going to destroy me, I'm ready for you, but until then, I have somewhere I need to be."
Wow; just…wow. I never knew Mini-me was capable of everything she just pulled off. First of all, she made Pitch believe I had escaped, and she didn't need to tell that many lies. She lied! She lied and it was good! I didn't think she could do that.
Second, she protected my honor. She made it seem that I didn't have any weakness, and that if you knock me down I'll just get up again. Lastly, but most importantly, she complimented me! I never told her what to say! I never told to do anything! I told her to get here, and she could have done that and saved herself by saying she was illusion.
This could've only meant one thing: Mini-me had been lying to me all these years. I didn't even think she was that good. She always said that she didn't care about me that much. She was lying; she cares about my well-being more than hers. This isn't just because I'm the illusion master, it's because I'm her friend. I made her to be what I need when I need it, and I've always needed an extra friend. I've always needed a family, and she was like my annoying little sister.
You are probably wondering why she lied to me about that, I think it's because of Jack. Yes, she has sided with him before, but that was just to irritate me and play devil's advocate. In truth, I think she did resent Jack a little for taking her spot as best friend. That's why she made it seem like she fell out of sorts with me, to spite him and I, even though Jack never knew she existed. The Problem was, she didn't know I still needed her and not just to get out of that box!
"GET OUT OF THERE, MINI-ME!" I screamed at her in my head. Mini-me did as she was told, and starting flying to the south, fast. Pitch didn't hesitate; he and his nightmares charged after her. The nightmares were biting at her and Pitch was firing his arrows.
"Destroy the nightmares! Fire back!" She did that. I was impressed with what she did. She imagined an invisible giant shredder that shredded the nightmares. She then fired four consecutive arrows, and quickly cracked her whip. A box formed around Pitch and his nightmare, and then a giant foot kicked it a few hundred miles away. I would so do that, poetic justice and all.
Now she had some distance. She kept flying south. Soon, I could see Antarctica in her sights.
"Almost there, Mini-me," I internally said frantically. "Almost there, keep going!"
She was going really fast, then I noticed something in the corner of her vision; it was Jack!
"See," thought Mini-me. "He still cares about you."
"Mini-me," I said tearing up, realizing at that moment how much she really cared. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it," she said. She continued flying south.
"Ema!" called Jack.
"Answer him!" I said.
"You can do it," said Mini-me. "Once you're free."
"See what he has to say, I don't want it to seem like I don't care about him."
"I'm being chased here!"
"You have some distance, go talk to him, and explain what's going on."
"I really don't have the distance, Ema," she said, looking behind her. I could see what she meant. The nightmares had caught up, they were gaining on her. Luckily, Jack had an inkling of what was going on and stepped in to help. He started freezing the nightmares.
"Yay Jack!" I cried. "Now get here Mini-me!"
"Right," said Mini-me as she kept going. Suddenly, she stopped. I had felt it too. She looked herself over, and sticking out of her was a black sand arrow, shot right through the torso.
Another chapter and another cliffhanger this month! Do I love you guys or what? You'll have to wait and see if things can turn around next chapter. Stay tuned!
