Harry and Hermione meet, what's their first thoughts of each other.
(No direct communication in this chapter)
The first time Hermione Granger see's Harry Potter he's dressed in:
A grey very loose-fitting t-shirt
A chequered shirt that looks like it used to be blue and grey, but the colours have faded to be all grey now.
A black coat that looks like it's had more needle work done to it than not.
Some dark blue trousers that had an attempt at rolling up the bottoms so that he doesn't fall over them.
Some reebok trainers that look one more scuff away from falling apart on his feet.
His round spectacles that are being held together on the bridge by Sellotape.
Let's not forget his trunk that definitely doesn't befit his station as the last Potter, his hair looks like it needs a good brushing and honestly where did he get his backpack from? Does this boy not realise he's one of the top 5 wealthiest individuals in the wizarding world? But that beautiful owl is the only symbol that he is a wizard. He was pulling his belonging out of a very stylish car that definitely doesn't seem like he should be getting out of. Maybe they are just bringing his stuff for him?
The first time Harry Potter see's Hermione Granger she's dressed in:
A lovely little blue denim dress that reached her knee's – Aunt Petunia would be happy with the length of her dress; she says a skirt should always reach a lady's knee's.
A white undershirt that if he was closer, he would see had little pink flowers on.
Some black dolly shoes that all the girls wore to school.
A white ribbon in her very uncontrolled curls – not that he could talk at least her hair looked lovely like that.
He would also see a male who looks to be her father, if looks were to go by, pulling out a trunk that looked much newer than his own. The woman with them has curls that look more relaxed and manageable than the very excitable 11-year-old pulling her along. He hears the woman run through a check list much like the one Harry had written out two weeks ago to ensure he didn't forget anything. The only sign that this young girl would be joining him on the new adventure is the fact he heard the woman say about her wand, she tried to say it quietly but with how close they were parked to Uncle Vernon's car he couldn't miss it. She was taller than him without standing next to her he could see that, but she also didn't look like she was skin, and bones like him.
He watches as they walk into Kings Cross Station and walk to platform 9 and 10 and up to the 3rd column, he sees both parents and young Hermione take the handle of her trolly with her luggage on and with a bit of a faster paced walk they walk right up to the brickwork and wait where did they go? They disappeared! Harry feels his heart rate speed up with concern then realises it must be how he gets on to platform 9 ¾'s which he's so glad to have seen because he would never have thought to do that and dan Hagrid for letting him panic for a full month without even sending a letter once he realised, he didn't tell him. Checking that Hedwig is safely on the top of his trunk in her cage he grips the handle of his own trolly a little tighter and speeds up his walk, to anyone else it would look like he was running but after all those years of running this is just a fast walk. He closes his eyes and prepares for the brickwork to stop him and wake him up from this fabulous dream, but it never comes. He feels the air that wasn't there previously rushing through his hair, and he opens his eyes. WOW a scarlet red stream train with the sign 'Hogwarts Express' is there on the tracks, and he looks up to find a timetable and there it is, 11am Hogwarts Express platform 9 3/4.
Harry can feel the magic just here, but he knows other people will need to get on the platform and he doesn't want to block the entrance so he moves toward the train where he can see an empty carriage and starts to put his belongings on. First goes Hedwig – he's got to make sure she's safe above everything else, then he takes his backpack off which has his clothes in and places that next to the cage securing his stop and now it's just the trunk which is unbelievably heavy – if only there was a way to make it super light, that would be the dream. He struggles but he managed to put it in Uncle Vernon's car so he can manage this. Rather than lifting it up onto the trunk rack he keeps it by his feet and pulls out his trusty A History of Magic the very place he found the name of his first friend.
Roughly 5 minutes later he hears the door slide open and there's the young girl he saw enter the platform in her pretty denim dress, she asks if there's room to which he just nods and gets back to reading. He doesn't know exactly what lesson this is for, but he can only assume it's for a history of magic which he already finds so fascinating, he's actually getting to learn about where magic is from. With the way Hagrid spoke of his parents he can only guess that he knew them and hopes to ask him more about them when he next sees them, he wonders if anyone else at the school will have known them. They would have been there about 15 years ago so he'd be very surprised, but if they look like they've been there a while maybe he could ask them. He's just so interested in finding out about him especially after the way everyone reacted to him walking into the Leaky Cauldron, it's like they knew him and whilst Hagrid had told him about the end of the war he's not sure how everyone knew HE was Harry Potter, sure he looks just like his father with his mother's eyes if Hagrid's to be believed but like how did they know he would look like that. He could have looked just like his Mum with his dad's eyes for all they knew.
