Overlord reborn into a beautiful world

Comment:

To Sieg: I needed to make an "impact" somehow. I simply liked the idea of a Serial addict lion being the god that does the Isekai(ing). Also, Mufasa prime is a reference to the demon Marbas. I just added my own twist to it.

To Gee: I didn't understand your comment. So, I put your comment through google translator. The result is the Romanian word for gee soup. Why the soup?

Side Note: the kingdom where Ainzack is born into is called Kaenrild

This land is where the story begins. Ruled by a king, 3 dukes, 4 counts, 5 knight houses. Each noble house represents a school of magic. The knight house = police in peace time and generals in war time. kingdom is divided into 8 regions. With the capital in the middle. The Magical academy is on the south/east boarder of Kaenrild. Knight Academy is in the capital.

(Didn't know where to add this piece of information, so I added it as Authors Note.)

Enjoy the story.

Chapter: 3 Twins for the road.

[Time: morning]

[Location: Ovirick manor/Dining room.]

"My son, you have been making excellent progress with your studies for these past 5 years. I, myself couldn't have wished for a better son." Azmark's words were filled with pride. "To be honest, I would have liked to you home tutored instead of going to the academy, but it wouldn't be good for you to be isolated from the rest of those your age." The current head of house Ovirick's mood became melancholic. "There is something we've been not telling you. The circumstances of your birth were unorthodox in comparisons to any other."

Ainzack took a gulp. He knew something was different about his birth from a normal child. From what he had read in the library, Vampires are considered "Necro-logical Lifeforms". Undeads that have the same basic needs and functions as the living. The biggest difference is the fact that Necro-logical Life is empowered by negative energy instead of positive energy (life energy).

Under normal circumstances, a union between life forms with positive- and negative energies cannot produce offsprings. Both types of energy will guarantee cannibalize each other until one or none remains.

"When you were conceived, we used a {primal amber stone} and a {Dungeon core} to preserve your life within your mother's belly. Both relics have been dissolved into your essence when performing a ritual which ensured your birth." Azmark seemed very tempted to look elsewhere at the moment but squashed those urges down.

{Dungeon Core}

In the new world Dungeons are structures that spawn from the lay lines that run deep under the surface of the world. There are many theories regarding their origins, yet most of them are lacking in one way or another. Within these Dungeons, there is always a {Dungeon core} that facilitates the construct from collapsing into itself. These {Dungeon Cores} hold powerful magic unique to the world. The founder of the nation which house Ovirick is part of had once conquered a legendary class dungeon an established his rule with the power and knowledge he acquired.

{Primal Amber-stone}

It is said that all life originated from the primordial tree of life. many cultures tend to speak of one such tree that graced the world with life. It's said that its sap can cure all afflictions and heal all wounds. The {Primal Amber-stone} is the crystallization of the tree's sap, so it is let to believe. It is said that a noble house once owned a sword with {Primal Amber-stones} in betted into the blade. A cut from the sword caused wounds to mutate and limbs to deform. A weapon more suited for torture than combat.

Ainzack has rede about them in the library and his collector instincts demanded him to obtain them for the sake of collecting.

"Due to such circumstances, you are compatible with both Negative- and Positive energy. Your birth is a miracle in all senses of the word. It can be said that you possess a bloodline that allows you to tap into necrotic energy without any drawbacks." Duke Azmark tried to list down the positive aspects of Ainzack's condition.

Ainzack's face was impassive and stoic on the outside. Inside, the young Lordling was squealing for joy. It was one of those thoughts Ainzack had been troubled by not so long ago. The prospect of becoming an undead is something that Ainzack would have found appealing if not for the inability to enjoy the simpler things in life. Such as fine cuisines, baths and sleep. All things one cannot enjoy as an undead skeleton. As for the reason why Ainzack considered to become undead, that is to wield Necrotic energy.

Necrotic Energy, in the new world is considered as a powerful and Deadly element for anyone to wield. Also, it is essential to master for anyone that is planning to explore the darkened lands in the south-west. One that walks in those treacherous lands must be as deadly as the native lifeforms in order to survive. It is a "dog eat dog" world in the literal sense.

This new revelation explained the chilling sensation every time Ainzack pulled on his magic reserves. This also made it redundant for the son of the duke house to become an undead in order to use necrotic based mana. On the inside, Ainzack was elated but kept a stoic expression on the outside.

Azmark seems to have a have some sort of regret regarding what he has done. It doesn't need a genius to see that the atmosphere in the dining room is becoming tenser by the minute. Shalry stood frozen behind the young lordlings chair with on of her hands gripping her wrist and her face pale with shock and disbelief. Illith (Ainzack's mother) had a mixed expression of both guilt and melancholy across her elegant face.

Deciding that the current situation shouldn't become any worse. Ainzack stood up from his seat and walked between both his parents and embraced both of them into a hug. This action caused everyone present to be surprised at this unexpected gesture. "I don't know about what me being both undead and living implies, but I see no reason to be condemning anyone for my circumstances. So, it's alright. If worse comes to worse, we can cross that bridge when we get to it. As a family." Ainzack added the last part.

During these nine years, the former salaryman Suzuki Satoru and now Ainzack Ovirick has come to appreciate and care about his new family almost like his guildmates back in his Yggdrasil days. Azmark might be cold and distanced on first glance, but he is really just like Lucifer, a person that has problems showing his true feelings minus the pranks. Illith reminded him of a blurred version of both his own mother and Yamaiko blended together into one person. The remnants of Suzuki Satoru can tell that her love is genuine. It's sometimes uncanny at how many parallels this world has with Yggdrasil or maybe it is just Ainzack using his Yggdrasil knowledge as a reference to explain all the things going on around him. After all, 12 years' worth of memory spent in Yggdrasil won't be forgotten anytime soon.

[Line break]

[Ainzack PoV]

Sitting in the robust carriage pulled by horses and guarded knights in service to the duke-house Ovirick, I sat in the middle-chamber of the three segmented carriage on my way to the kingdom's Academy for mages. The head-knight in command is a well-aged man in his early 40th.

There are two more smaller carriages in the front and on the back, with a squad of 5 bodyguards in each carriage. My family is a bit overprotective, but I'm not complaining about it. You never know what will ambush the carriage of a duke house on the road. Even more so from political rivals.

Assassinations of nobles for any reason aren't common, but it still happens from time to time. Especially assassination attempts from the "rival" kingdom Darakmian. They are on the east side of the continent with the Elven nation linden Heim between us. Despite the distance, they would send assassins as a means to spite Kaenrild for aiding the elven nation in the past conflicts against them.

The journey will take three days for our party to arrive at Fort- Academia Magus, the symbol of the kingdom's pursuit of knowledge. It is a gigantic fortress city, home to the most ingenious minds of the kingdom.

Within the enchanted walls lies the school for people pursuing the path of magic and scholarship. Father said that it also serves as a place for young nobles to make connections and alliances for the future. I do hope, I am able to get along with Childrens "my age". In the long term, making allies is necessary to succeed as the next duke. On the other hand, I also hope I can find those I could call friends…

Most of what I learned till this point was rather easy to learn thanks to the knowledge of my previous life and the ingame knowledge I use as reference to help me better understand the things I learn. I found it easier to learn how to read and write the language of the new world that I find myself in. On the other hand, learning about the inner workings of the magic in the new world was more of a challenge than learning how to read and write. It is all about developing the six senses for the mana in one's own body and the 'spells' are all about molding the magic in the way I needed and visualizing the concept behind the inner workings of the spell for the spell to actually work. Luckily father is an excellent teacher and taught me step by step how to channel my mana current in my body. If I didn't understand something, he would explain things from a different perspective until I understood the problem. I think this is his way of showing his love.

Shalry is going to the capital next month to become a proper knight in training, so she didn't come along to escort me to the academy. She seemed a bit off, before I left for the academy. Maybe I should write her letters. It should be something friends do if I remember correctly.

In these past few years, I came to regard Shalry as a friend in a sort, we trained together under Gurther, laughed together and when hunting together. Just like my friends back in Yggdrasil. Only this time it was I who left.

Looking out the window, I could already see the first town in which we are going to make a stop for the night. The sun is already starting to set. It doesn't matter how many times I look at the setting sun shining down its orange rays of light. It is always as beautiful as the first time I witnessed the sunset, and each is as memorable as the one before. I took out my magical artifact, a device that has the same functions of that of a Camera. I got it on my tenth birthday. Channeling a bit of mana into the device, I captured the scene of the gold-like orange rays illuminating the town in the distance.

When my carriage arrived at the village, a group of five knights dressed in the kingdom's Grand guard armor. They are the most elite warriors Kaenrild has to offer and only answer to the king himself. Wherever they appear, something of national importance has happened or is going to happen.

They wore a full set of black adamantine armor, plated robes over the armor with red, white and navy colored fabric neatly sewed by a master seamstress. The uniform reminded me of those heavy armors a war cleric would wear if they were going for a tank built back in Yggdrasil.

They must be the additional security grandfather said he would arrange. I knew Grandfather had connections with the king, but to have a squad of Grand guards to be my security is a bit much even for me. It's like having a full party of level 100 veterans doing an escort mission at the starting area which is meant for level tens.

We exchanged courtesies and headed into the local inn. Two knights stood outside the room on guard while three were in the same room with me and the head knight. The commander of the Grand guard sat opposite me while my bodyguard stood behind me. "Greeting, young lord Ovirick. I am squad captain Olragern of the 27th Grand guard unit. As lord Argain has told thee, we are your escort till we arrive at Fort- Academia Magus." The two knights behind Olragern stepped forward. Both of them are a head shorter than the captain of the Grand guard unit. "They on the other hand will be your personal bodyguards while you are in the academy." Olragern said.

"Wait, a minute. Isn't this overkill having two of the kingdom's elite guarding me?" I found myself getting anxious. The captain pondered to himself for a few seconds, then answered. "Young lord Ovirick, you seem to underestimate the importance of your position as Heir and next lord of Vetdrich. Due to the unique circumstances surrounding the succession of Vetdrich's territory. It is in the interests of the kingdom that you as only child of the current duke house will be able to succeed as the next head of the house. Due to such, it is our priority to ensure your safety." The two knights took off their helmets and revealed a pair of light-chestnut haired twins not older than me. What caught my attention was their pink eyes. It is the {marking of the succubus}. The twins both had messy shoulder length light chestnut brown hair tied in a pair of fluffy looking twintails. Smooth doll like skin. Pink eyes with the look of professionalism, sharp and focused. 'Peronroncino would have squealed of joy seeing these two.' I remained stoic, not letting my inner thoughts show.

{Marking of the Succubus}

In the new world there are people born with something widely known as {mystical eyes}. Amongst the different varieties of {Mystical eyes} there is the {markings of the Succubus}. They are pink in color and have the ability to drain stamina and life force from living beings and turn it into their own strength. Thus, amplifying their powers. Those with these eyes are also stronger and faster than the average human and can see better at night. These eyes also have a weak charming effect when looked directly into, yet it is something that the user has no control over.

"These are Iyzlin and Nilzyl, they are our orders youngest members, they will be able to pass as students and brighten their horizon while in the academy." Olragern introduced the twins. The twins bowled in courtesy. ""Nice to make your acquaintance."" The two twins said in unison. 'They even did the unison speech, buku-san would like them.' I thought to myself. My trip to- and at the Fort- Academia Magus just got more interesting.

AN: I would like to continue writing, but I ran out of fumes. Ero will possibly be a thing.

Next chapter might be out in two or three months.

Spoiler: there will be others from Ainz Ooal Gown (Guild members) in the next chapter, not its not Peronroncino and Bukubukuchagame. But they will be added to the story eventually. (If we get that far.)

As always, reviews are what keeps the story going.
