Chapter 28 It's in the Blood
Ron chewed on his thumb as he paced in front of St Mungo's. He would give it five more minutes and if they hadn't arrived, then he would use that cell phone to call Hermione. She had to have been outside Hogwarts to call him the first time, so, what was the delay? Where were they?
He shrugged out of his suitcoat more forcefully than he normally would and threw it angrily over his arm. He was seconds away from using the phone when he heard Hermione call him.
"Ron!"
"Bloody hell, Hermione! What took you so long? I've been worried sick."
"Sorry, Ron. I had Teddy pack a few things. He's going to stay with us for a few days."
Teddy nodded to Ron; his boyishly handsome face creased with worry. "Let's go find the doctor."
After a quick stop at the nurse's station, they learned the doctor was on his rounds and would be in Harry's room soon.
On their way to Harry's room, Teddy and Hermione filled Ron in about their search and what they had found. They lamented the time wasted by not meeting with Professor Dumbledore's portrait right away. It would have saved them days of searching and Harry could be cured by now. IF this worked.
Professor Dumbledore had been fairly certain they would see results. He had demanded they copy the instructions down as they were, so Hermione would have to translate for the doctor if he could not translate them himself.
Harry's room was dim and quiet. Hermione brought up the lights. Harry was still sleeping in the hospital bed, but Ginny was nowhere to be seen.
"Bloody hell," Ron hissed. "She's gone after her."
"You don't know that Ron," Hermione reasoned.
"Oh, yes, I do. I'm surprised she waited this long. I should never have left her alone. I'm going after her."
"I'll come with you," Teddy and Hermione both exclaimed.
"No. You need to stay here and consult with the doctor," Ron said, shrugging back into his jacket.
"I don't want you to go there alone." Hermione grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back.
Ron kissed Hermione quickly on the lips, "She's alone. I have to get to her."
"Teddy, go with Ron. I'll meet with the doctor."
Teddy pulled his wand out of his backpack and threw the bag on the floor next to the bed. "It's payback time."
"Be careful," Hermione cautioned. She called after them, "If I don't hear from you within the hour, then I'm sending George!"
Hermione sat down next to Harry and clasped his hand. "Don't worry, Harry. We should have you fixed up soon."
