Chapter 40 – Broken world part 1

Gabriel and Skyla were happily sitting on the table, with Skyla swinging her little legs excitedly. In front of them was Tarre humming to himself as made breakfast for the two womprats. Since it was the morning and Tarre was still their master…Ahsoka and Sabine were focusing on their training. Today's objective was to understand and catalogue the different energies of the force and how they impacted the natural healing of an organism.

"Dad, when can we learn about the force?", Gabriel asked excitedly. Skyla also nodded enthusiastically.

"Well kids, today is your first lesson", Tarre said.

"YES", Skyla squealed.

"What will you teach us? How to lift a rock, or push someone away?", Gabriel asked.

"Nope. This is the most difficult lesson especially for you Gabe", Tarre said seriously.

The two siblings waited with bated breaths. "Sitting still and quieting your mind", Tarre spoke finally.

"What!?", the two asked in confusion and disappointment. They were expecting something else.

"Daaad", Skyla groaned.

"No arguments. Now let's get started."

Back in the Hindi region of Asgardia, the scouting group had run into their first problem…a facehugger currently coiling around Jesse's face. With his hands he kept the facehugger's legs and mouth away from him, but its tail had already made a vice like grip on him. Talia had instructed them not to cut the alien lifeform as its blood was acid, and it formed a telepathic chain with others.

As the two struggled to free Jesse, the facehugger got even closer to the young man, eventually coiling around his face. Jesse kept his mouth shut, as he felt something trying to open it. His air supply was running short, until he heard the tell-tale hum of a lightsaber and the subsequent slash that followed. The creature shrieked and lay dead on his feet, cut in half. A few drops fell on the gasping young man's face and some of it even entered his mouth as he took a breath in. Jesse yelled as pain flared on both his face and the inside of his throat. Mace and Ava quickly grabbed him and brought him on the ship. Behind them, they could hear shrieks and rustles, but could sense nothing. Talia had already readied the ship and took off as the three boarded. Ava dragged Jesse to the onboard med-bay and Mace went to the cockpit. All around them dark creatures began to close even covering the ship. It was all hopeless, until Talia used her powers to blow them back and the ship finally took off.

"The ship is damaged, we wouldn't be able to go far", Talia told Mace.

"I only see one planet in our scopes and its readings are not good", Mace replied.

"I know which planet you speak of. For now it is our only hope."

The ship sputtering along eventually reached the aforementioned planet. It was once a thriving world, and now a wasteland. What made it weirder, was that half of the world was covered in electrical storms while the other half was covered in magma.

Just then Ava entered and told everyone that Jesse had suffered terrible burns on the face and the inside of his throat, but he was alright before the planet in front of them caught her eye. Talia and Mace were quickly making repairs to keep the ship working.

"What is that world?", Ava asked horrified.

"It was a battlefield once, nearly 2500 years ago. Two powerful pagans fought in a single combat and this the result", Talia answered evenly, though her eyes were misty.

"Who were those pagans?", Mace asked.

"Tarre Vizsla and Sakazuki. Their battle went on for 15 days straight, with no rest. In the end Tarre won", she answered.
