Chapter 41 – Broken World part 2

The Spice stealer woke up in an unknown place. Towering above him was werewolf in hybrid form, standing on two legs and grinning viciously.

"Be honoured", he said, "You have the privilege of becoming my first beta in many years. Together, we will carve our own empire in this desolate world."

"What? Who am I? Who are you?", the stealer asked panicked. He then started convulsing in pain on the ground. The werewolf smirked and thought, 'Finally the bite holds.'

Morwen Black egged on by the mysterious voice used a crystal ball to scry for her daughter. She had stolen every privilege in her short life that belonged to Morwen. Her so-called daughter wasn't even going to work for her. What's more, that girl's godly father who had fallen for Morwen's charms would no longer be swayed. That one-legged bastard should have made her powerful, instead he only made her pregnant and now hid her child from him.

"It doesn't matter what he does. In the end, his power will belong to you. He will pay for his crimes against you, and your traitorous daughter will be back in her place", the mysterious voice whispered in Morwen's ears.

"Yes, it will all be ours. I will have my revenge on everyone in this universe", Morwen declared.

"Aye, you will…and through you I will gain all the power I lost. Dedicate sacrifices to me servant, and you will be rewarded with my power", declared the spirit of Farbauti.

They had somehow made their way back to Asgard, with Talia giving her report to Prince Issho. Mace was currently in the Aesir library, reading up on certain subjects. Ava was outside Jesse's operation room, as he was being treated by his master – Dr Bruce Banner.

A few hours had passed, with Bruce coming out satisfied with Jesse's condition, and turned to see Ava walking towards him.

"How is he?"

"Stable and asleep. I had to give him a blood transfusion."

"I didn't know he had any major blood loss?", Ava asked.

"He didn't. But my blood is immune to the detrimental effects of the xenomorph blood."

"To the acidic factor?"

"Xenomorph blood is more than just acidic, in the simplest of terms…it is parasitic. That was my original research to discover a cure for that parasite. It ended with me becoming Hulk", Bruce spoke.

"So will Jesse be the same as you?", Ava asked.

"He will…be like me. But since Jesse is a Cambion, we don't know how exactly he will turn out."

"Wait…Jesse is a Cambion? He is half demon?", Ava asked afraid.

"Yes. I thought you knew", Bruce was surprised.

"No, I didn't", Ava replied with a bit of venom in her voice.

"Keep in mind that he is still Jesse. He is a good lad…you know that", Bruce said sensing Ava's emotions.

The realm of the Dwarves – Nidvaller. The High King of the realm – Etri IV, was examining the balrog graves as was commanded by Thor. Ever since the start of the 3rd age, before the Aesir-Vanir civil war…something had happened which diminished the number of Cherubs and Seraphims in the realm. However during Etri III's reign that number had somehow climbed back up before the Siege of Paralas and the Apocalypse brought them down again. Not to mention, the Seraphim leading the seven dwarven families in the other realms were all dead now had left a bad taste in the High King's mouth.

The power and influence of his realm had diminished, and he would do anything to restore it. Frankly speaking, Etri had considered an alliance with Surtur, but it didn't come to pass when Heimdall had ensured that the fire giants will be able to invade Asgardia without wasting any time on the other realms. The alliance plan fell apart and Etri secretly nursed his anger of Alfheim's rising influence, while Thor it seemed had already forgotten the peril Nidvaller went through. Jormungandr's rampage had destroyed three worlds in his realm – three profitable worlds and now the damned serpent had made Nidvaller his home.

As Etri was stewing in his rage, he did not notice a small black worm oozing an equally small vapour was heading towards him. Since dwarves preferred to be under the earth, the black worm could easily blend in with the environment and slowly made it's way towards the High King's armour. From there, it probed for any cracks/crevices that would allow it entry and found on near Etri's right ankle. The High King was so absorbed with his anger and loathing for Thor and the ever-present resentment against Elves, that he didn't notice when the worm was absorbed into his body via his skin.

"I swear by the name of Etri the first and Buri…Thor will pay", Etri IV whispered to himself… his eyes turning a shade blacker than usual.
