This is chapter four.

REMINDER: I DO NOT OWN AVATAR OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS.

Inside the Southern Water Tribe palace, the group was recovering from the fight.

"So, I get robot arms in this universe while we're working for an alien brain thing?" Ming-Hua asked.

"Yep." Bolin answered.

"Damn, the multiverse is a bitch." Ghazan said. "In this world, Raiko is Azula who came back as a head. In our universe, Azula died in prison and there is a real Raiko."

Korra was confused about what happened. "What the hell was that? That was me from your world, was it? What happened to her… me… whatever?"

The other Mako was drinking beer from a bottle. "Yeah, Unalaq, tell her how our Korra turned into a power being in the universe. Tell her how it started."

Unalaq sighed with guilt. "After I came here with my army in my universe, it gets different from your universe. I remember it too well these two years."

A flashback started two years ago. At the tribal palace, where Northern troops were marching to Southern civilians, creating a commotion.

A Northern soldier approaches. "Everyone, clear the streets! Get back in your homes."

The civilians remain still and look at the troops with contempt. The Northern soldier gestures and two waterbenders bend ice barricades, separating the civilians. The troops continue marching.

At the harbour, waterbenders were forming ice walls around the docks, preventing ships from leaving.

The next shows the time when Unalaq arrested Tonraq and Senna to get them out of the way so he can use Korra to open the spirit portal.

When she learned from Judge Hotah that Unalaq was lying the whole time, her determination went dark, and she killed the judge.

Then there was the time at prison were Korra and Mako tried to free her father, but Unalaq send him way where she can never see him again; to the Northern Tribe.

"Bring him back. Or I'm taking you out and the rest of your army." Korra demanded.

"Remember who you are. As the Avatar, you cannot threaten war. You must remain neutral, or our tribes will never find unity." Unalaq said.

"You don't want unity. You want power. You've always been jealous of my father, haven't you? You got him banished so you could become chief, and I bet it just killed you to learn he was the Avatar's father. No wonder you kept trying to take me away from him."

"All I've ever wanted is to help you realize your destiny." Unalaq said.

"Well, I don't want your help anymore." Korra said.

"If you start a war, the dark spirits will annihilate the South. And even I will be powerless to stop them." Unalaq tries to reason.

I'm done being manipulated by you. You're going to bring my father back, then you and your troops will return to the North." she said before she turns away.

"And why would I do that?" Unalaq asked bluntly.

"Because you still need me to open the Northern portal." Korra said.

"No, I don't. You've served your purpose." Unalaq said.

"Oh, really? I didn't think so." Korra said darkly.

An enraged Korra throws three fire blasts at her uncle, which Unalaq neutralizes with waterbending. Unalaq throws an arc and a blast at Korra. Korra manages to stop the frozen arc, but was pushed off by the frozen blast. Mako assists Korra with a fire kick.

Unalaq manages to dodge the kick and pushes Mako off with a water blast to the face. Unalaq throws another water blast at his niece, but she manages to catch the blast and pushes his against the wall with an air blast.

After she broke her father out of prison, she determined to help her people. She needed the help of the United Forces.

Later, when she arrived at Republic City, Varrick's goons disguised as Northerners blew up Southern Water Tribe Cultural Center.

"The Northern Water Tribe is out of control!" Korra said after Mako approaches.

"I saw a firebender running away from the blast. The North might not be responsible for this." Mako said.

"Of course, they're responsible. Who else would it be?" Korra asked before she runs to an approaching fire truck.

The next flashback shows the time when Korra first met the real President Raiko in her universe.

Korra looks on at the camera, but Varrick pokes her, causing her to flinch awkwardly before the photo was taken.

"Now, how can I help the Avatar and my most generous supporter?" Raiko asked.

"Unalaq's troops have invaded the South. We need you to send the United Forces to help." Korra said.

"I'm very concerned by what's happening down there. But I don't think it's the Republic's place to interfere with internal Water Tribe matters." Raiko said.

"Unalaq isn't even the rightful ruler of the Water Tribe. He lied his way onto the Northern throne. He hired barbarians to attack the Northern tribe and told them to hide in the spirit forest, and then that got my father banished."

"Mr. President, the Republic is already involved in this conflict. The North attacked our cultural center last night." Varrick said.

"Believe me, we are doing everything we can to bring the people responsible to justice." Raiko said.

"What? 'The people responsible'? Who else would it be but the Northerners?" Korra asked.

"Now, I know that when you're young, it's hard to keep perspective…"

You're the one who's lost perspective. I'm trying to save my tribe, and you're taking pictures." Korra snapped accusingly.

"Sending troops is not something I can do at this time. But I promise I will work with Unalaq and the South for a diplomatic solution. Now, I'm sorry, but my mind is made up. This meeting is over."

"My family is going to be wiped out, and it'll be on your head for doing nothing about it. Why did I waste my time with a pathetic man who only cares for his own image?" Korra said before she walks away with Varrick.

As soon as they left, Raiko makes an uneasily look.

The next flashback shows at Mako's residence.

"I can't believe the President is doing nothing! H-He doesn't even care!" she said.

"I'm sure he cares, but he can't just tell his people to go fight a battle at the South Pole that has nothing to do with them." Mako said.

"How could you take his side?" Korra asked exasperated.

"What's with you and sides? Why do you always think I'm working against you?" Mako asked agitated.

"Well, you're not helping me! I'm trying to get troops to the South. So, what the hell are you doing?" Korra asked.

"I'm doing my job." Mako said.

"Well, excuse me, officer. Don't let me stand in the way of you writing tickets. I'm just trying to save the world." Korra said sarcastically with anger.

"Well, you wouldn't have to if you didn't keep messing it up!" Mako said angrily.

"I can't talk to you when you're like this, you pompous idiot." she said angrily before she storms off and slams a door.

"You're the one who's like this!" Mako snaps angrily.

Then the next flashback shows at the United Forces Harbour, where Korra was meeting Iroh II. He was about to accept her request to aid the South, but Raiko arrived.

"Swapping old war stories?"

Iroh sees President Raiko entering the ship and salutes. "Mr. President."

"I hope you're not planning to take any military action without an order from your commander-in-chief?" Raiko asked.

"Of course not, sir." Iroh said.

"Good. Because if a single vessel leaves this harbour without my say-so, you'll be court-martialled." Raiko said. "Am I clear?"

"Crystal, sir." Iroh said.

"Your activities here are bordering on insurrection. The Avatar does not command the military of the Republic. Don't go behind my back again." Raiko demanded. "As you were, General Iroh." Raiko leaves the ship.

"I hate that guy!" Korra said angrily. "Soon, I'm gonna choke the life from him."

When Korra found out it was Mako that ratted her out, she burst into the police headquarters.

"You ratted me out to the President?" Korra asked agitatedly.

"Korra, let me explain." Mako said calmly.

"Explain why my boyfriend stabbed me in the back?"

"Look, the President of the Republic asked me a direct question. What was I supposed to do?"

"You betrayed me, and my family!" Korra yelled angrily and accusingly before she kicks Mako's desk aside with airbending.

"Enough! Look, I have a job to do! I can't constantly be worrying about keeping you from making another huge mistake!" Mako snaps.

"Well, I have a job to do too, only it seems like you're always standing in the way of me getting it done!" Korra yelled back angrily.

"Well, I guess if we're both putting our jobs first, maybe there's no room for our relationship!"

"So, what? Are you breaking up with me?" Korra asked sadly.

"Yeah. I guess I am." Mako answered sadly.

That breakup makes Korra shed a tear, but then she went angry.

"You will pay for this! You, Unalaq, Raiko. You'll all pay! I'll get even! Just wait. You'll be sorry! You fools! You idiots!" Korra said darkly before she stormed out of the office.

At the Mo Ce Sea, where Korra was driving a speedboat to go to the Fire Nation for help, then her cousins were attacking her with waterbending.

She defeated them with one bending. Then a dark spirit came to kill the Avatar, but she managed to purify it.

Later, Korra went to an uncharted island and found an ancient library. She learned of the origin of the first Avatar Wan, Raava and Vaatu. Korra figured out the reason why Unalaq was trying to open the spirit portals. She then learned about Raava and Vaatu being the halves of Raavu, the most powerful spirit in the universe.

She intends to merge the two spirits back into their true form on Harmonic convergence and gain the ultimate power. To do that, she had opened the Northern spirit portal.

Stay tuned on part one of the beginning of the Dark Avatar, folks. Chapter five will come.
