Jonathan sat down at the end of his bed in shock. Did he just hear what he thought he had? Tony was getting married? To another woman? When did all this happen?
Sam. He had to call Sam. She would know what was going on. He picked up his phone and dialed Sam and Hank's number.
"Hello?"
"SAM! Why didn't you tell me Tony was getting married?!" Jonathan yelled.
"Whoa Squirt! Calm down! And by the way I'm fine and so are Hank and Nicky." she said sarcastically.
Jonathan took a deep breath and counted to ten. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell it's just that I well I…." he trailed off.
"You're in shock." Sam said softly.
"Yeah. I mean how did this happen? Who is he marrying?"
"Her name is Teresa Fisher. She's a friend of Candy's. Dad met her the night he got his award for outstanding new teacher of the year."
"So they've been dating since then?"
"No, Candy kind of set them up but Dad said he wasn't interested. It was only a couple of months since Angela and Dad split. He was polite to her but nothing else. But they got to know one another and well now they're getting married."
"But what about my mom? Sam, I can't believe this is happening. I always thought that one day they would be together again."
"We all did. But we're not kids anymore. I'm married with a little boy and you're in college. We just have to accept the fact that our parents will never be together."
Jonathan rubbed his hand over his face. He knew she was right. But it still hurt.
"So what's she like?"
"Teresa? She's actually really nice. I think you'll like her. You'll get to meet her in a few weeks at Nicky's birthday party."
"Yeah. I bet he can't wait." Jonathan smiled.
"Are you kidding? Every day he keeps asking Hank and me if he can have his party yet." Sam chuckled.
Jonathan laughed. "Well tell him Uncle Jonathan loves him and can't wait to see him."
"Will do! I have to go make dinner now."
"You're making dinner?! Boy Hank must really love you!"
"Shut up! Okay fine I'm heating up a casserole that Fran made. Happy?"
"Extremely! Well have a good night!"
"You too!"
"Bye!"
"Bye!"

"Hi Honey! Welcome home!"
"Hi Terri!" Tony smiled. He sat his bag down and gave her a hug.
"You look beat. Long flight?"
"It was okay." He walked over to the couch and sat down. She followed him and sat on the arm.
"So how did things go with telling Angela?"
Tony took a deep breath, "It went as well as can be expected. I mean she was shocked of course but she told me congratulations."
Teresa nodded. She could only imagine how hard it must have been for Angela to hear that Tony was getting married. Devastated. Shocked. That was how she had felt when her ex husband had told her he was having an affair with his co-worker. Even though she had never met her she felt a twinge of sympathy for her.
"So I made some chicken parmesan. Are you hungry?"
"Yeah. UMMM let me unpack and get cleaned up first." He stood up and walked over and got his bag off the floor.
"I'll be out in about twenty minutes. " He turned around and walked back toward his bedroom.
"Okay." Teresa said softly. She watched him walk away then got up herself and went into the kitchen to make them a couple of salads.

"Hello?"
"Mom. It's Jonathan."
"Hi honey! How are you?"
"I'm good. Mom.."
"How are your classes?"
"They're fine. Mom…"
"Are you eating?"
"Yes, I'm eating. Mom…'
"So ummm…."
"MOM! Stop! I know what you're doing"
"What am I doing?"
"You're trying to distract yourself. I know that Tony is getting married. I'm so sorry. I called to see how you are."
Angela took a deep breath. "I'm okay.' she said unconvincingly.
"No you're not. Come on, talk to me."
"Well I mean there isn't much to talk about. Tony is getting married to another woman. I have no one to blame but myself."
"Mom, that's bull and you know it!"
"Jonathan I left him! Remember?"
"Yeah, but he could have come home . He should have come home. Instead he chose that job over you. Just like.."
"Your Dad?"
"Yeah." He cleared his throat. "I mean after you came back from Iowa and told us that you and Tony had decided to break up I kept waiting for him to come back. After a while I realized he wasn't. But still I kept hoping"
"Me too. But we both have to face facts. Tony isn't coming back. He's made a new life in Iowa."
"Yeah, I guess so. Well hey I have to go and study for my calculus test. I'll talk to you later."
"Okay honey. Bye!"
"Bye Mom!"

"I'm tee! I'm tee!" Nicky yelled jumping up and down on his parents bed.
Hank groaned and looked at his bedside clock. 6:30 a.m.
"Nicky! Why are you up so early?"
"Daddy! I'm tee!"
Sam laughed. "Honey, you're three. Not tee."
"Okay! Is it time for my party yet?"
"Not for another few hours."
Nicky stopped jumping and sat down on the bed.
"This is taking forever!"
Hank and Sam laughed.
"It will be here before you know it, Nicky boy." Hank ruffled his hair.
"Hey how about we go watch some cartoons and later on we'll have some french toast?" Sam suggested getting out of bed and putting on her robe.
"YAY!" Nicky yelled, jumping off the bed and running out of the room.
Hank got up as well and put his robe on. Walking over to Sam he put his arm around her and kissed her good morning.
"Mommy! Daddy!"
Hank chuckled. "This is going to be one long day."
Sam laughed and they walked out of the room to join Nicky in the living room.
Nicky's party was in full swing. Sam and Bonnie were catching up while setting the table. Joe was grilling burgers and hot dogs. Hank and Jonathan were outside with Nicky playing a game of tag. Fran, Mrs Rossini, and Claire were putting the finishing touches on Nicky's birthday cake. That left Angela and Mona in the living room.
"So nervous?" Mona asked.
"About what?"
Mona rolled her eyes. "Don't play dumb with me. You know what I'm talking about. Or should I say who I'm talking about."
"Okay, yes I'm nervous. But hey I'm sure she is too."
"Yeah. The ex meets the current. You know this could be funny if it weren't so sad."
Angela shook her head. "Gee thanks a lot Mother."
Mona shrugged. "Hey, I'm here for you. Unless of course I see a good looking guy."
"Then I'm on my own?" Angela laughed.
"Obviously! But seriously Angela. Things are going to be okay. I mean yeah it will be awkward but you'll get through it."
Angela nodded. "Yeah. I hope so."
As if on some strange cue the doorbell rang.
"That must be them." Mona said, squeezing Angela's hand.
'I'll get it!" Sam called coming out of the kitchen and walking to the front opened it and Tony and Teresa walked in loaded down with presents.
"Whoa Dad! Did you buy enough presents?" Sam laughed and took a few. They walked over and put their presents with the others.
"Hi honey." Tony said and gave her a hug.
"Hi Sam.' Teresa smiled.
"Hi. I'm glad you could make it." Sam smiled back at her.
Angela and Mona watched from the couch. Tony noticed them and walked over.
"Hey Mone!"
"Hey Tone!"
They gave each other a hug.
"So I hear congratulations are in order."
"Yeah, Thanks." he smiled. He turned toward Angela.
"Hi Angela."
"Hi Tony." She got up and they gave each other a hug.
"So how was your flight?"
"It was good. How are things at the Agency?"
"Things are going well."
"That's good."
"Things okay at Wells?"
"Yeah."
Sam and Mona caught each other's eyes and shook their heads. They were being way too cordial with each other. They both knew that Tony was nervous to introduce Angela to Teresa but he couldn't put it off forever. As if he could hear their thoughts Tony turned to Teresa.
"UMMM Angela? Mona? This is Teresa."
Teresa walked over. "Hi. It's nice to meet you." she smiled.
"Nice to meet you too." Angela smiled.
Mona watched the three of them. As she had told Angela this would be funny if it weren't so sad.
Everyone else came into the living room. Nicky saw Tony and ran toward him.
"Grandpa Tony!"
"Nicky! How's my boy?" He picked him up.
"I'm good! Grandpa guess what?"
"What?"
"I'm tee today!"
Tony laughed and walked over to the couch and sat Nicky down. He walked over and gave Mrs Rossini, Jonathnan, Fran, and Bonnie hugs. He shook Hank and Joe's hands and nodded hello to Claire.
"So I would like for you all to meet someone. This is Teresa."
"Hi everyone." Teresa smiled.
"Hi!" Fran smiled back at her. Everyone else followed her lead and said hello too.
"Grandpa!" Nicky called from the couch.
"Yeah? What is it Nicky?" Tony asked as he walked over to the couch and sat down beside him.
"Who's that lady?" he whispered pointing to Teresa.
"That's Teresa. And Grandpa has a big surprise for you."
"What?"
"Well Teresa and Grandpa are getting married."
"Married?"
"Yeah, like Mommy and Daddy are. And Grandma Fran and Grandpa Joe."
Nicky looked around the room, his little face full of confusion.
"But Grandpa you can't!"
"He can't, what sweetie?" Sam asked, walking over and sitting down beside her son.
Nicky turned toward Tony.
"You can't marry her Grandpa!"
