Mako pow:

"I think I've... Set my new record for... Staying awake..." I panted as I came to Julio who waited for me outside of the arena.

"Good job, you are a true American." Soldier encouraged me, patting me on the shoulder which almost caused me to trip over and fall.

"That was sacrasm?" Julio asked him, giving me se time to catch the breath.

"Yes!" Soldier smiled, looking at me from the side. "Now, we are here to see you kick some muffin tops, right?"

"... I think so. But you have to stay on the side for this one." Julio responded as Infulinally put myself together. "While entering, brawlers go to the right and spectators to the left, see you in ten minutes." He added as he handed me a plae white card and afew Yen and went inside with a whistle.

"Come on now, preety lady. We have a brawl to attend." Soldier teased me as I slowly follows him and then joined a bunch of people who already were taking seats.

Narrator pow:

"Hmm, that's quite a lot of people." Mako said, as she looked left and right at the half-occupied arena seats, already taken by the other people intrested in today's match.

"Bakugans aren't as popular as that Sensha-do of yours, but dear lord are they waaay more exciting!" Soldier commented, hopping with excitement on her shoulder.

"... We'll see." I sighed, seeing that Julio and some fat boy with short black hair and aura of stereotypical American middle-schooler came from the other side as his opponent.

Julio - 3/3. Shuji - 3/3

"The battle between Julio and Shuji can now begin!" Neutral, but enjoyable electronic voice of announcer sounded across the room as all people took their seats and the arena ground for the two brawlers turned into white, clear floor.

"Gate card, set!" Both of them shouted, sending their card into the ground, where they landed and expanded against eachother. Julio's with yellow and Shuji's with Dark glow around their edges.

"I'm going first! Bakugan brawl!" Shuji shouted, taking one of his dark bakugans and throwing them forward. "Darkus Mantris, stand!" He added, as the ball landed on top of his gate card and transformed into a gigantic dark mantis.

"Whoa..." Mako gasped, looking up on the big creature, which screeched into the air with passion-giving grace.

"Funny that you do this against me." Julio smiled, taking one of his own bakugan and throwing it. "Bakugan brawl! Haos Manion, stand!" He shouted, as a white creature resembling a sphinx stood in front of Mantris.

Manion - 300g. Mantris - 300g

"Moving forward, huh?" Shuji asked, smiling under his nose. "Let's see how handle this then, gate card open!" He added, as the gate card glow for a split second before the battleground engulfed in darkness.

Mantris - 300g = 400g

"The battlefield transforms in dependence of actions from the fighters, clever." Mako commented, seeing as Mantris cackled and pushed Manion on defense.

"You haven't seen a thing yet!" Julio laughed, taking out one of his smaller cards and turning it around between his fingers. "Ability card activate! Correlation of Haos and Darkus!" He shouted as the card glow and Manion waved his wings as they sucked away the power from Mantris.

Manion - 300g = 400g. Mantris - 400g = 300g

"An atribute-counter system? That's advanced." Mako poundered, looking down at the arena as Manion quickly wiped the floor with Mantris, the latter turning back into the ball after being struck by his claws and landing under Shuji's legs.

Shuji - 2/3

"That's the beauty of bakugan brawling. Balanced, strategic, giving you enough time to meaningfully react... And fair as fairy tales." Soldier added, taking her attention away from the two brawlers bickering before Shuji threw new gate card in the place his previous one stood.

"Bakugan brawl! Darkus Juggernoid stand!" He shouted, as a gigantic dark tortoise came out from his shell and roared into the air.

"Fair as fairy tail, you say?" Mako asked while Julio threw his second gate card to the left on his original one before picking one of his bakugans.

"Relatively. There are many more equal sports out there." Soldier responded, while Julio threw his bakugan onto the original gate card, where it revealed itself as a floating eyeball with white tentacles instead of eyelashes.

"Whoa, what kind of bakugan is that?" Mako asked again, finally moves by the gigantic eye all floating on the field.

"This one? It's Haos Tentaclear. Julio's guardian bakugan." Soldier explained while Shuji threw his last bakugan and faced Tentaclear with what seemes to be a mechanical giant with compacted cannons on his shoulder.

Tentaclear - 370g. Lasermann - 370g

"You fool! You fell for my trap!" Julio smiled as he moved his hands sideways and shouted with passion. "Gate card open! Grand Spirit!" He added as the gate card turned around to show case it's white polished groudn with black key in the middle while Lasermann dropped on his knees and crumbled under invisible pressure emitating from the flying eyeball.

Tentaclear - 370g = 520g

"Now that is something." Mako sighed, seeing as the crowds began picking up who was winning. "Still, the attendees are suprisingly calm."

"You know, it's still a turn-based strategy game. Stability of the game represents stability of the fanbase." Soldier responded, as the duo saw Tentaclear smashing Lasermann few times with his tentacles before the robotic monster turned back into the ball and fell under Shuji's legs.

Shuji - 1/3

"Two down, one to go!" Julio said with enthusiasm, catching returning bakugan into his hand.

"Yeah, stale..." Mako sighed, slowly losing intrest in the battle before falling out of touch with the surrounding area.

"Oh, right. She's that sleepy." Soldier said to himself as a familiar girly face approached him.

"Hey pal! Wanna the remaining two of your buddies back?"

"Sure! My new brawler has only me."

"Then wake her up when I disappear, OK?"

"OK, you're a truly true American. Just like your school."

"... Huh?" Mako asked, waking up from her short, interrupted break.

"Nothing, just recieved two free bakugans from some stranger." Soldier responded, making her look down at the two white balls with yellow lining dropped on her lap. "Also, Julio just won with overkill triple chain for fun. We might wanna see him after we leave this place."

"*Yawn* Fine, the match is over anyway..."

Mako pow:

"Alright, I'm here again." I sighed as I met up with Julio in front of the arena entreance we used to enter it in the first place.

"Well then, do you think you'll stay with this?" He asked me, cracking up a positive face.

"Sure, sure... I don't have a place to go anyways." I said as I slowly took out two bakugans someone gave to me earlier. "Also may I ask who these two are?" I asked, showing the two for him to see.

"Hmm, a Haos Falconeer..." Soldier said from the side, looking at the hands from my shoulder.

"... And Haos Serpenoid." Julio added, making the research part for me. "Anyways, how about we have a sparring match now? You still have to learn how to play it in practice."

"OK, it's not like I have better stuff to do." I sighed before we walked away towards other arenas in the neighbourhood. After all, these places were used for a reason.

Narrator pow:

"Field, open!" Mako and Julio shouted as they turned their cards around and summoned a battlefield composed of endless white floor. "Gate card, set." They added, throwing netx cards against eachother in a straight line.

Mako - 3/3. Julio - 3/3

"Bakugan brawl! Haos Juggernoid stand!" Julio called out, throwing the bakugan onto his gate card where it transformed into a gigantic tortoise.

"How much g-power he has?" Mako asked, looking onto her left shoulder.

"Two hundered nineteen. Throw me in please!" Soldier responded, jumping with excitement.

"Fine, let's see what you got." Mako sighed, grabbing his closed ball form. "Bakugan brawl. Haos Soldier stand." She added, effortlessly throwing him towards the gate card where he stopped to open himself.

"SCREAMING EAGLEEEES!" Soldier yelled with passion as he jumped out of the ball and landed on his side of the gate card, rocket launcher in hand, trench coat all over torso and helmet fully covering his eyes.

Soldier - 300g. Juggernoid - 290g

"Three hundered g's? That's interesting." Julio smiled before making a chopping move with his left arm. "Gate card open! Character!" He shouted as the card revealed a painting of a Juggernoid on itself and said bakugan gained a surge of power.

Juggernoid - 290g = 580g

"Need some help here!" Soldier called out to his brawler, looking down at the furious eyes of the white turtle.

"I think this one will work." Mako said as he picked one card ant turned it around. "Ability card activate, Rapid Haos." She added as her Falconeer joined into the battle on Soldier's side.

(Soldier - 300g, Falconeer - 320g.) - 620g

"Give 'em hell boy!" Soldier shouted as he and Falconeer rushing forward at the Juggernoid, first one delievering a smash from the launcher while the second held him by the neck and allow his ally to send few precise punches into it's bottom.

"Oh my, that's just brutal." Mako said to herself as she observed Juggernoid eventually give up and turn back into the ball form before rolling back under Julio's legs.

Julio - 2/3

"You are a true American." Soldier responded to satisfied bird as the two turned back into balls and went straight back to Mako's hands.

"I admit, that was good." Julio smiled as he threw another gate card in the same place his previous one was. "But I'm not out yet. Bakugan brawl, Haos Centipoid stand!" He added throwing his second bakugan onto the field where it transformed into a large centipede with gold-like pincers on his mouth's sides.

"How strong is he?" Soldier asked while Mako looked down at her phone.

"Three hundered and fourteen. Not your level." She responded as she picked up Serpenoid from the pocket. "But I think we'll see what happens later." She added as she threw the bakugan of choice all the way to her own gate card.

"Cautious now are you? I like the flexibility." Julio said politely as he observed Serpenoid reveal his bakugan form and hiss at him from above. "But I still want to win here. Bakugan brawl! Haos Fear Ripper stand!" He shouted as he threw the last bakugan he had to face up Mako's pick.

"Oh right, this one has a big meaty claws." Soldier commented as the white humanoid with extremley long claws at hands rised up to face the snake as the ground below them turned white with sparks of yellow here and there.

Serpenoid - 290g = 390g. Fear Ripper - 330g = 430g

"Standard atribute you say? Do you have a plan?" Soldier asked his brawler, somewhat intrigued by the situation.

"Sure I do, game's rules are suprisingly simple." Mako responded, taking out one of her ability cards. "Ability card activate, Market Garden." She added as Soldier went with a flash of light into the sky high above the field turned into his bakugan form and went down straight at Fear Ripper, knocking him down into the ground while Serpenoid encircled him to prevent escape.

(Serpenoid - 390g, Soldier - 300g = 400g) - 690g = 790g. Fear Ripper - 430g = 330g

"Sirrender now maggot, and you will not be harmed!" Soldier ordered, pointing his weirdly curved shovet against Fear Ripper's head.

"Ability card activate! Attractor!" Julio countered, activating his own card and sending Soldier all the way down to Centipoid's gate card with a crack in the ground.

Serpenoid - 390g. Fear Ripper - 330g

Soldier - 400g. Centipoid - 440g

"You weren't suprised by this move?" Mako asked, somewhat suprised on her own.

"I've seen a lot of weird stuff over the years of brawling. Jumping into battle at random happen at least three seperate times." Julio laughed before covering his vision of the battlefield with open palm of his hand. "Gate card open! Character!" He added as the ground below Centipoid turned into his replica, sending him a strong boost of power.

Julio - 1/3

Soldier - 400g. Centipoid - 440g = 880g

"Dammit! I need some help!" Soldier screamed back to Mako while Serpenoid casually took out the last breath from Fear Ripper, sending him out of the battle.

Soldier - 400g = 300g. Centipoid - 880g = 680g

"... I think this will work." Mako said with slow, analytical pace as her left hand caught returning Serpenoid and the right one took out the ability card. "Ability card activate. Buff Banner!" She added as the card glow snow-white and a wooden bock with mysterious Japanese symbol appeared on Soldier's back.

Soldier - 300g = 400g. Centipoid - 680g = 340g

"What kind of move is this!?" Julio asked, sweat all over his face as he saw Soldier's face turn into a wrathful passion.

"Buff Banner not only sets Soldier's power level to the highest one he had during the entire battle, but also decreases his opponent's power by half." Mako explained calmly while Soldier charged with a white aura pulsing around his legs and smashed his Market Gardener into Centipoid's head.

"Get a job, hippie!" Soldier shouted with passion as he dodged a responding pincers and uppercut the opponent in the neck, forcing him to flew into the air and turn back itno the ball before returning back under Julio's legs.

"Nice work girl! I am proud of you." Soldier added as he turned back into the ball and went back to Mako's hand.

"Yeah, thanks." She responded with dry voice as the battlefield disappeared and turned back into a real life arena they just entered.

"Nice work Mako! You really know this game in and out!" Julio smiled at her, waving his hand. "We're done for today, go out and enjoy yourself because tomorrow I'm calling for a double-team tournament." He added before turning around and quickly leaving the place.

"Ehh... *Sigh* Thanks." Mako responded as she also turned around and left the arena back to her entreance.

"You're good kid?" Soldier asked her from the shoulder, looking rather confused.

"I don't know, I guess I just need to sleep." Mako responded as she blinked twice. "How about we talk this one out back in the apartment? I would like to do some things back there..."
