TFA: Deals with Our Devils
Chapter 18: The Special Order
…
Later,
After Ultra Magnus explained Optimus's tragic past as a sparkling.
"And that's when we found him and I decided to put him under my care in the academy". Ultra Magnus explained with a sigh to a shocked audience.
To say that they were stunned was the understatement of the millennium.
This was news for everyone especially Optimus's team who never could have known that he would have such a bloody history.
Ultra Magnus prepared himself for their response.
"Why didn't you tell him"! Sari suddenly demanded out loud startling the rest of Optimus's team with the exception of Wratchet who had his faceplate in his hand over what they just learned seeing as he was a veteran of the great Autobot and Decepticon war and was the most worried for their leader.
Looking back at the rest of his team he wondered how much more tragedy they could take before the likes of Bumblebee would break, given that he looked up to their leader and wanted to be like him someday.
Ultra Magnus didn't even look up to meet their gazes before speaking with some shame in his voice.
"I couldn't, not after everything he lost". "Then there's the fact that he was so traumatized and young so I doubt he even remembers".
"You still should have told him"! Sari yelled out while looking like she was panicking while in a short rage. "Didn't any of you consider how he must have felt through all this"!
"How would you have felt"?! She demanded.
A shamed silence greeted her back.
Sari had to look away in disgust while Ultra Magnus looked down at his hammer thinking about what could have been if they treated the young bot with some basic decency in his life.
But no one was as ashamed as Sentinel who was still reeling from this revelation wondering if he could have been a bit kinder to Optimus.
Then they heard a car pull up to the entrance with a, "SSSCCCRRREECCHHH"! Snapping them out of their regrets as it did.
…
Optimus washed himself off next to a stream in silence for a second time in a row, but inwardly he was having a thunderstorm of emotions. Mostly though it was disgust.
First due to the fact that he was washing off the last bits of slop off his windshield after he rammed into a garbage truck for crying out loud, and second, he crushed a particular nasty demon under his foot.
Then, there was the fact that he learned from the said demon that Thor was somewhere in the area looking for him.
That was irritating enough, then combine that with the fact that Odin put out a bounty on his head. That was a kick in the teeth!
Then there's the fact that the mad God was letting things out of Muspelheim for crying out loud! That, was madness! Did he want to cause Ragnarök!
Optimus just then realized that things like this were his stressor. Like whatever that bastard shadow entity did to him made him completely unhinged. And it was yet another sick joke on that being's end that Optimus hated with every fiber of his being!
"Well, well, well". "I hear someone calling my name".
Optimus visibly stiffened, realizing that "he", showed up.
Optimus slowly turned his dark head with a, "creek", noise as he did turn around, obviously irritated to new heights given current events.
Floating there was the great traitor himself, the shadow entity that made the deal with Optimus to begin with, while holding a scroll in hand reviewing whatever was on it. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was, he had that same old smirk on his shadowy face with a look indicating he was, amused.
Of course, it's been a millennium since Optimus learned his name in the pit, even though he hated it with every fiber of his being, and he would not mutter it here.
He gritted his sharp, servo-like teeth at the entity before letting out a growl while his eyes glowed red that only seemed to amuse the entity that towered over him.
"What do you want"?! Optimus muttered under his breath.
If anything, the entity seemed to chuckle as it blew out some poisonous vapors that killed the grass around them.
"What"? "No greeting for your employer"?
Optimus just starred at him with a hatful expression on his faceplate, indicating that he wasn't in the mood.
"Oh, verry well". "Have it your way". The entity said as he closed the scroll. "I've decided to give you a more personal assignment anyway". It then reached out with the scroll that had his next target on it.
Optimus looked down at the scroll then snatched it out of his shadowy hand as quickly as possible, not wanting to feel the icy cold of that beings' hands that stunk like betrayal.
"This one is from an old acquaintance of yours known simply as Hades".
This made Optimus twitch while narrowing his eyes, before he opened the scroll.
Written on it was bloodied handwritten details of a monster that escaped the Greek underworld known simply as, a, Optimus sighed in frustration.
"Great, the Minitour". A nasty creature that was half man and half bull, with a hulking body of a behemoth and strength of a demigod, because it was the bastard son of a man who could fight like a snow-white bull sent by the Greek god Poseidon and the wife of king Minos. "In all sense it was a step away from being a full demigod, because it was sired by a portion of Poseidon's power manifesting itself into the man that was symbolically a bull in terms of fighting spirit". (P.S. I'm not making this part up I just changed it a little bit so it could fit in the explanation because Greek mythology was a lot darker and I didn't feel comfortable writing about that one part")
At least that was before the hero Theseus cut off its head in the labyrinth to save his damsel in distress. "The minotaur was a cannibal after all".
Now his head hurt thinking about that braintwister. "Greek mythology was kind of hit and miss when it came to demigods". He thought to himself.
Still though as he read the order, he noticed something, "This minotaur had a battle-axe crafted in the pits of Tartarus"! Made with the blood of titans no less!
"How the hell did he get that weapon"! Optimus demanded of the entity before him.
The entity merely lit a cigar and breathed out yellow smoke before answering seemingly board.
"Simple, Hade's made it for him in an attempt to do the same thing to him I did to you". "Which if we're being clear, backfired on him, now he wants you to clean it up".
Optimus clenched the parchment in his hand so hard he though it would shred given the pressure.
"But a contract is a contract after all". The being said while shrugging his shoulders and smiling.
With that optimus had enough and turned around before walking away.
"If you can, try to keep the battle axe in-tact, it's underworld property after all"! The entity shouted behind Optimus with a snicker before vanishing leaving an infuriated optimus to tear through the forest as he did.
