AN: Yeah, I couldn't sleep well last night. My house got robbed two days ago and it's kinda been a nervous time for me. I'm fine, just a few possessions missing that are really not that super important. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

One would be surprised to find that there was any sense of peace in the realm of Hell, but Blitzo always found the evenings to be that time. Especially when the moon was full. Having slept pretty much all morning after raiding Valentino's club and ending the son of a bitch, Blitzo ignored the world around him to get enough sleep that he didn't wake until late afternoon. Even then, he pretty much shut the world around him by not answering any texts or calls save for a few messages from his siblings, daughter, and co-workers, where he assured them he was fine and just relaxing.
Angel—or Anthony has he insisted—had only told him if he needed anything to just call room service. All Blitzo asked for was a late lunch and some beer. He had spent most of the day thinking about what to do next, but he really found himself thinking about what Valentino had said about Stolas. Mainly how Stolas was once in a relationship with an angel.
Blitzo calmly looked at the full moon from the edge of the balcony he was leaning on with a cigarette in his mouth before he puffed out a smoking cloud. He knew that Stolas had lovers before him. He told him this many times but assured Blitzo that he had stayed with him the longest.
Was that a lie in the end?
If Blitzo was being honest, he didn't know Stolas that well. Or at least know about his past. Even when he was scouting the palace to get the book the first time, he only dug up the most recent information. Stolas kept all of his past locked up tight, and perhaps the only other person who knew more about him was Stella due to how long they were married. Even then, it wasn't a guarantee she knew because they hated each other.
Damnit, Stolas, Blitzo growled as he closed his eyes and covered his face with one hand. Why didn't you tell me? I wouldn't have cared...
That was somewhat true. Blitzo honestly wouldn't care if Stolas fucked an angel or not. Before the Nephealm Revolt, it was actually kinda common to see angels and demons hooking up in secret due to curiosity, genuine feelings, or wanting to just be rebels in their own way. However, there was always the risk of a Nephealm, a child of both demonic and angelic blood. Beings of great power, they were seen as equals in the eyes of Heaven and Hell, and some saw them as a means to bring peace to both sides. Then the Revolt happened.
The powers of the Nephealm were revealed in full when they rebelled against Lucifer in Hell and sought to usurp him. The Nephealm came closest to overthrowing the fallen angel king out of all those before and after them. The Revolt was more of a war in reality due to how damaging it was. It was said that half of Hell's population was wiped out by the end and had more loss of life than any Extermination Day ever did. Of course, this was before the Exterminations even started all those years ago. After it was over, Lucifer ordered every Nephalem, guilty or innocent, executed permanently in Hell. Those few that survived were said to flee to Heaven, Purgatory, or Earth and remain there to this day with laws forbidding any relationship with Angels under penalty of death. Even if they were the same gender.
Blitzo wondered as he took another puff. Would Stolas really have risked such a thing? And if he did have this relationship, was it before or after he married Stella? Or, more importantly, did he really love this guy?
That was the big question. The Goetia Prince had been alive for a long time, and it's possible that he once loved another before Blitzo. So why did the idea of it hurt so much in his heart?
Maybe I just wanted to feel like I was special to him? Or perhaps I just don't want to feel like I was a replacement lover in his heart for whoever this angel was. If so...should I even keep going? Blitzo wanted to believe Stolas loved him. Fuck, he loved the bird bastard so much he was killing people to avenge him. Yet did Stolas ever love Blitzo more than this mysterious angel?
Shaking his head, Blitzo threw his cigarette away and made his way back to his room. It doesn't matter. I'm already this far in. I have to see it to the end. Because second place or not, he was important to me. That's all that matters.
Although, if Blitzo was being honest, he was far deeper than he had ever gone in a hit. Killing a bunch of terrorists? Sure, he's done that. Killing celebrities like Katie Killjoy? A breeze in the park. Overlords like Valentino? The former pimp king wasn't the first one to fall by his hands. A Goetia Prince? That was a new one. In fact, Blitzo had never once targeted a Goetia demon of even the lower levels of their hierarchy. They were always too dangerous to even attempt to kill in his mind. Now he would have to go after someone who was apparently just as powerful and ranked as high as Stolas was.
Prince Gaap was indeed everything Valentino said he was. Famous, charming, and influential. That being said, the guy was dangerous. Anyone who ever messed with him was made an example of along with their families. He was not just brutal. He was ruthless.
The prince also lived on his own private island in a mansion surrounded by highly trained security that was more like a miniature army. There were also rumors of a specialized magical defense he made called the "NORN" system, which he developed to help deal with anyone he deemed a threat. No doubt he would see Blitzo as one, especially since word of Valentino's death was spreading like fire.
No, Blitzo had to plan this perfectly, or else it was going to be game over. Gaap was the only one out of the three remaining names he had who had taken part in Stolas's assassination that knew where to find one or all of the Big Hand members. That and Blitzo swore he would kill anyone who was involved. Of course, I'll have to get to know him better...so I'll need to talk to someone who knows him well too.
And there was only one person that Blitzo, reluctantly, had to talk to.
The one demon that apparently Prince Gaap had been wanting to marry for years but was denied each time.
His childhood friend, Stella.
Octavia was really starting to curse her father for being so paranoid. Not only had the journal she found been encrypted with a cipher, but there were different kinds of ciphers among them. Some were entire sections, while others were various pages. It was mind-numbing to get through even one of them, but Octavia managed to do it for one of the ciphers. Once she got it down, she began to translate the pages available with this specific language. Most of them were just about everyday life, focusing on gardening, current events at the time, or even about Stella and Stolas's constant fears of failing her. Apparently, her father hadn't realized he was a homosexual yet by this point in time.
However, it was one page that really got her attention:
Dear Journal,
Of all the stars and planets in every reality known to exist, I am a fool. A stupid! Stupid fool! My work, everything that I had been building up to, was to be nothing more than a means for that madman's insane plan. I dare say not too much, even in the hands of this journal that I have encrypted with different ciphers. If anyone was to find out what I had done, not only would my head roll off my neck, but I fear it would cause chaos unlike anything ever seen before in Hell. The hidden knowledge of what I discovered through my work now has made me, unknowingly, one of the most powerful beings in all of Hell. If my discovery and creation can be used on a single demon like me...
Yet, the cost is too great.
That madman's vision is also just too dangerous. It would spark another war with Heaven or maybe even the Apocalypse. Not to mention the lives and souls required to make such a ritual occur are beyond counting. You would need to spend thousands of years preparing for it and gather so many demonic essences to your will...
No, I will not be a part of this. I will tell my love that we must destroy our discoveries and notes before wiping our own memories of them. If anyone outside of the two of us knows of what can be done...
It's too terrifying to even think about.
-Stolas Goetia.
"That was...interesting," Octavia whispered to herself with some fear in her heart. She knew her Dad often liked to perform different experiments with magic and science. Some of them benefited Hell in the long run, like the new portal system made to transport demons from one ring to the next.
Yet, her father's way about this one made it seem like it was world-shattering and destructive. She didn't know who this madman was, nor did she know what her father meant by lover. Clearly, it was not Stella since it was clear even this far back they didn't have a close relationship. So did her father have someone he loved on the side? Was this when he started cheating on her mother?
"What kind of ritual would require souls being gathered, and by this big amount?" Octavia wondered as she paced around her room while holding the journal. She quickly summoned a few books on dark rituals and levitated them in front of her while trying to look through some of the bigger ones she knew. The largest one she could find was a hundred thousand souls needed to summon an ancient primordial deep from the slumbers of Hell's most bottomless pits, but that wasn't so much as damaging to be considered apocalyptic.
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts as one of her imp servants, Pringles, walked inside and bowed. "Princess Octavia? Blitz is here to see you. He's in the living room."
"I'll be right there," Octavia said with a nod.
"He's also requested your mother join you both," Pringles said, which made Octavia raise an eyebrow. "I know, it's a bit of a surprise to me as well, but he insisted she is there."
"...Very well, have my mother join us."
Pringles bowed and left while Octavia narrowed her eyes in suspicion. Why would Blitzo want Stella to join them? The two hated each other, and they made it clear each time they met. Octavia levitated the books away with a heavy sigh and hid the journal in a safe place before making her way out into the hallway.
The servants and guards all bowed to her, and she nodded back. It felt so weird being still the head of the house while her father was resting peacefully in his tomb. Walking these halls as an important figurehead felt different instead of the little girl she was all those years ago happily running to play around. Octavia wished she could go back to those days. Before Octavia knew how bad the marriage between her parents was. Before she ever saw the world as the cruel and cold reality that it was. She would give anything to have her father play hide and seek with her one more time before picking her up, twirling Octavia around, and kissing her on the forehead.
Making her way down the stairs, it didn't take Octavia long to reach the main living room where Blitzo was waiting for her on the couch. Smiling, he got up and walked over to her as the two hugged. "Hey, Princess. Doing okay?"
"As much as I can," Octavia answered as she sat down, holding his hand with a smile of her own. "I'm glad you're okay. I was worried when I saw that fight online."
"Eh, I've had worse," Blitzo said, shrugging as he leaned back on his couch. "Val's dead, but chances are you heard of that already. The information he gave wasn't much, but I have a new direction that I need help with."
"What can I do?" Octavia asked.
Blitzo shook his head just as he turned around to the left, where Princess Stella was walking inside. "It's not you that I need help from."
Octavia tilted her head as Blitzo got up and walked over to Stella, who looked at him with a snide. "What do you want, imp?"
"Prince Gapp."
Octavia saw her mother flinch for a few seconds before her face returned to being stone cold. "What about him?"
"How long have you two known each other?" Blitzo asked as he walked away and started to pace around the room. "Because when you first told us about him, when Stolas was recovering, you told us he was jealous of Stolas taking the job he wanted. The one Lucifer personally gave him. But that's a lie, isn't it?"
He turned around and glared at Stella. "He wanted you. His so-called childhood friend that he loved and still loves to this day but cannot ever have. Well, technically, he can since you're a widow now."
Stella was silent as Octavia's eyes widened. She slowly stood up and stared at her mother in surprise. She never once heard of Prince Gapp being mentioned by her mother except for that one time when her father was in recovery. But if Blitzo was telling the truth about Prince Gapp and her mother..."
"Prince Gaap and I knew each other, yes," Princess Stella muttered, turning away to avoid any eye contact. "But I haven't spoken to him in over four hundred years. We were once friends, I will admit this, but that time has long since passed."
"Has it?" Blitzo asked as he slowly walked towards Stella. "We all know you hated Stolas, Stella. You never loved him. He never loved you. Fuck, the two of you couldn't even agree on how to raise your child together. Life was miserable and worse of all? Your husband was fucking me, an imp, and was actually in love with me instead of you. I bet that made you feel like a useless old hag, huh?"
"Shut the fuck up, you swine!" Stella shouted, eyes blazing. "You know nothing!"
"I know enough!" Blitzo shouted as he got in her face, much to her disgust. "I might not be the best person in the universe, but even I'm not a miserable bitch like you are! Tell me, Stella, does anyone even love you?!"
Stella didn't seem to expect that question as her mouth opened in surprise.
"Your husband hated you. The servants and guards hate you. You even have a daughter who barely can stand you because all you do is push her around and demand of her without even once considering what she wants out of life," Blitzo said while Octavia tried to open her mouth to say something but stopped herself. "You look down on everyone, and everyone looks at you with disgust because they cannot stand you! Tell me, does anyone love you?! Well, I guess someone does because he fucking is willing to kill your husband to have your vagina!"
Blitzo then pointed his finger at Stella and growled. "So, answer me this, Stella Goetia. Who the fuck is Prince Gaap, and what did you do to make him want to go this far to fuck you!"
In an instant, Stella's power was unleashed, and she grabbed Blitzo by the throat before slamming him against the wall. Every one of Stella's feathers was pulsing out like a peacock as her full white and black swan-like wings spread out. The very air was shimmering around her. Cracks began to form on the ground from the impact of her power. With eyes full of rage, Stella shouted, "YOU KNOW NOTHING YOU IGNORANT IMP! YOU DARE INSULT ME LIKE THIS?! YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I TELL YOU ANYTHING!"
"Then tell me, Mother." Stella's eyes widened as she slowly turned to Octavia, who started to glow with power of her own. Not enough to change her appearance, but enough to have a glow around her. "Let Blitz go."
"Octavia..."
"LET HIM GO NOW!" Octavia screamed. "I DEMAND IT AS HEAD OF THE FAMILY! AND YOU WILL OBEY ME!"
Stella hesitated for a bit before doing so. Receding her power, Stella glared at her daughter, who just silently walked over to her. "I don't care how much you hated, Dad. Quite frankly, I'm starting to see how much he hated you. You really don't care about anyone but yourself, do you? Are you so cold-hearted that you would deny me my duty to avenge my father?"
Stella's eyes widened. "Octavia..."
Lowering her head, Octavia gritted her teeth. "I don't want any more games. I want to know the truth. And I want to know right here and now." She then lifted her eyes and glared at Stella. "Did you have anything to do with my father's death?!"
There was a deep silence in the living room as both Octavia and Blitzo stared at the silent, stunned princess. Blitzo even had one hand on his hidden flintlock pistol just in case she started something. Stella just stood there, frozen and yet poised, before she did something that neither of the other two expected.
She shed a tear.
A single tear went down her cheek before she lowered her head, and any sense of princess-like poise was lost. There was only defeat, despair, and...shame. Stella took a few deep breaths before she looked at her daughter with soft and yet void-like eyes that made Octavia flinch upon seeing them. It was a look she had never seen on her mother before.
"...you really hate me that much to think I would kill your father?" Stella asked before shaking her head. "No, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Everyone hates me...so why not assume the worst about me..."
"Mother?" Octavia asked before Stella wiped her face and turned around.
"Come. Both of you." Octavia and Blitzo looked at each other in confusion as Stella turned her head around her shoulder. "You want answers? I'll give them to you."
Blitzo didn't know what game Stella was playing, but she was very different than usual. Being an assassin, Blitzo had to take careful care of how people behaved and walked around so he could judge them for who they were. With Stella walking all slow and zombie-like, it was like watching someone who had the life of them sucked out. Like she didn't care about anything but moving forward.
He was suspicious since she always walked around like she owned the place and spoke of nothing but anger and rage with a stoic expression. Now it seemed the anger was all but gone and what was left was depression. Blitzo took a moment to glance at Octavia, who was torn between acting curious and yet also acting guilty. He couldn't blame her. She practically accused her own mother of being involved with Stolas's death. Something Blitzo had been wondering about as well. The connection with Prince Gaap only made that even more evident. He didn't know if she knowingly or unknowingly played a part in it, but Stella was keeping secrets either way.
Secrets, it seemed, she was willing to share.
They made their way into the gardens and traveled deep into the very edges of it. It even went past Stolas's own personal plants and into a more wild area with less work around it. Stopping in front of a large thick bush wall, Stella took a moment to take a deep breath before turning to the two. "You are the only two other people in this entire universe who are going to enter this sacred area. I ask...no, I demand that you treat it with respect."
Stella placed her hand on the bush wall and slowly began to emit a whitish and yellow glow. To both Blitzo and Octavia's surprise, the wall began to fade away into nothingness. "An illusion?" Octavia asked, surprised.
"One that Stolas set up. One that only he and I could ever access should we want," Stella answered, which widened the others' eyes. "Next to Octavia, this was the last gift he ever gave me that I treasured."
"...Okay, completely confused here," Blitzo asked, rubbing the back of his head. "What is this place?"
"Come," Stella demanded as she motioned them to continue.
When they passed through the illusion, both Blitzo and Octavia's mouths dropped from what they saw. It was... beautiful. The entire area was as big as a baseball field, with flowers of all kinds circling around it like the halo of an angel. The flowers were all positioned that of a rainbow from red to indigo. Each of the pedals had designs like stars, moons, suns, and comets. A sense of calm, peace and eternal serenity was emanating in the air as the pure green grass sparkled from the light coming from the twilight sky above. Looking up, one could swear it was a kaleidoscope of the stars and space as it constantly changed into various colors of beauty and wonder. Even Blitzo couldn't help but find it awe-inspiring.
Yet, for all these wonders, only one object lay in the middle of it all. A single white slab of stone of pure cut marble that was shining brighter than any object in the scene. It only took Octavia a few minutes to realize what it was as she whispered, "S-Star metal?"
"Seriously?" Blitzo asked in awe. Pure white star metal. A rare stone that was so expensive it could pay for twice the palace home of the Goetia. Yet, that alone was not what surprised the two. It was the shape of it.
It only took Blitzo a few minutes to register what it was, but it suddenly hit him when he saw the writing:
In Loving Memory of Prince Octavius Gaius Goetia
Beloved Son and Prince
Though You Did Not Hatch To See This World, We Were Blessed To Have Seen You
Rest In Peace
"...Who..." Octavia slowly began to turn white. "Who is this?"
"...My son."
"My firstborn son with Stolas. Your brother, Octavia." Both Blitzo and Octavia's eyes snapped towards Princess Stella, who looked at the grave with sorrow.
"M-My brother?" Octavia asked as she looked at the grave before sinking to her knees. "I...I had a brother?"
"Hundreds of years ago, I had an egg, a child, with Stolas..." Stella whispered, closing her eyes. "It was the last time we were...close...but then I lost him before he could be hatched...and nothing has ever been the same since..."
"...How did he die?" Blitzo asked, but in a respectful tone. For once, he felt like he really didn't belong here.
"...Prince Gapp," Stella whispered with venom in her tone as she stared at Blitzo. "You're right, Blitz. Nobody loves me. Not even my daughter, it seems. Because I lost the ability to love when I lost my son."
She slowly turned around and made her way back. "I'll tell you everything you want...just...please be respectful here."
Blitzo watched as Stella left the area while Octavia just continued to stare at the grave of her deceased older brother.
It also occurred to him that Stella called him by his real name for the first time since they met.

Welcome B.J.
B.J.: Are you there, Jack?
G.J: Yeah, I'm here. What is it that you want, Joker?
B.J: I take it you saw the news about Valentino?
G.J: Yeah, kinda hard not to since it's all that's been talked about. Even among the high rollers and employees of mine are talking about it. The shit he was into? Fuck, I ain't missing him anytime soon.
B.J: We've confirmed it was Blitzo that assassinated him. He, along with former demons, now redeemed souls, Angel Dust and Alastor.
G.J: Okay, what does this have to do with me?
B.J: First Katie Killjoy, then Valentino. Both of whom were part of the funding and desire to have Prince Stolas assassinated. Prince Gaap is the third one.
G.J: Hey, I wasn't the one who wanted him dead. That was White Ace and White Ace Alone.
B.J.: I know. I'll be talking to him personally face to face after this. But I am talking about this to you because Prince Gaap is one of the few who knows who you are in his organization. If Blitzo and his crew get him to talk, they will come after you.
G.J.: Look, Joker. I know this Blitzo guy has taken out some pretty powerful guys, but he's an imp. There is no way in Heaven, Hell, or Earth this guy will get Prince Gapp. A fricken Goetia Prince that could rival that so-called lover of his in power.
B.J.: Anyone can be killed, Green. All it takes is one mistake.
G.J: Look, I've seen his NORN system. It's practically foolproof, and I offered a hefty sum for it, but he refused. You worry too much. But if you're so concerned, let's just nip the asshole and his team in the bud. We've confirmed that his co-workers are staying at the hotel in Imp City, right?
B.J: Correct.
G.J.: Then let's send one of our kill teams to give them a message.
B.J: Very well. Make the arrangements. But please get in contact with Prince Gaap and tell him to keep his eyes sharp.
G.J.: He's currently planning some big meeting with other nobility to get them on board. It will be a few days until I can contact him.
B.J.: Then let's hope for his sake nothing else happens. May The True King Return To Us All.
G.J.: May The True King Return To Us All.

AN: First off, yes I know Stella does try to have Stolas killed in the series, but please keep in mind I wrote the entire storyline of this fic way before that episode, there is a reason this is AU and Canon Derailment tags. Stella and Stolas having a child before Octavia but it dying before hand was one of the early theories I had about their relationship being so poor so I went with it for this one. Anyway, leave a comment, spread the story around, fav it, and please keep reading. Thank you.
