A/N: I LOATHE Revenge R Us. But I don't know, the mean-spirited ending made me want to attempt perhaps a better story ending for Wade and Micah. Also, I came up with this idea after reading a rewrite idea from Spongey4441. Check his rewrite ideas out!

Crow's Eyes

Maggie the Crow fluttered around the house. It's wings flapping amongst the silence from the shock of both Iris and Carl.

Suddenly a couple of faint "Wee-beeps." broke the silence and Carl Jeffers dropped to his knees at the sight of the lunacy in front of him, his brown hair draped over his face. Wade and Micah Brill were frogs. Hopping and croaking frogs.

"Iris, you can't keep them like this," pleaded Carl looking up. "Come on, help them."

"No I can't," replied Iris sternly, her features tightened. "The price of overused wishes does this. They are stuck as frogs forever."

Iris the Witch spun on her black high heel and proceeded towards the door.

"But-but they're frogs!" cried and spluttered Carl, his eyes filling with fury. "Yeah they both sucked at being siblings, yeah Wade stole your crow, but come on! There has to be some way to turn them back!"

"Once any extra wishes have been made, they backfire on you." said Iris flatly, not turning her back as she continued to the door. She then stopped and held her hand up, and called out, "Maggie, come.".

But Maggie the Crow didn't flutter over to Iris. Maggie kept flying around the house and let out a defiant "Caw!".

Iris turned around and her wrinkled features tightened into a frown. She called to the crow again, this time angrier than before. "Maggie! Come!".

Maggie once again cawed defiantly and continued to fly and flutter around the house.

Iris angrily glared at the crow but Maggie was behaving differently than usual. She did not want to leave with Iris.

Carl had a thought. He remembered seeing a couple of boys throwing rocks at crows for a laugh a few months ago. But then he remembered a day later, seeing the boys being pecked at and attacked by what looked the same crows the boys had been harassing.

This fascinated Carl. He remembered looking deeper and reading somewhere that crows are the birds of revenge. He remembered reading that crows remember the faces of their enemies, and people that wronged them. And from the dreary looks of Iris, the crow couldn't have been living a happy life.

He then remembered a few minutes ago when Iris snatched Maggie from Wade's then human hands, and the bird not looking particularly happy that it was handled in such way.

"Stupid bird!" snapped Iris angrily as she reached for the bird, but the crow wouldn't come to her.

Carl then had a thought. And a way for all of this madness to end. "Maybe Maggie is happier away from Iris," he thought. "Maybe that's why she never pecked or flew away from Wade. She liked being away from Iris!"

"You come here right now, Maggie!" demanded Iris still trying to catch the flying crow with her veiny hands. Her black hair began to look unkempt from her attempts to catch the bird.

Unbeknownst to Iris, Carl stood up and took a few steps away from Iris and the two Brill frogs still hopping around and croaking little "Wee-beeps! Wee-beeps!". He felt like the crow was calling to him, perhaps picking him to be the it's next master.

Carl held his hand out, took a deep a breath, and then in a faint and gentle voice he said, "Maggie, come to me.".

After a small but obedient, "Caw!" Maggie fluttered over to Carl's palm. Carl then gently held the bird and glared angrily at Iris who was staring wide-eyed in fury at Carl and her crow. Carl felt a tingly sensation course through him as he held the bird. He felt...empowered.

"How did-? How? HOW?!" spluttered Iris.

"Crows like revenge too Iris," sighed Carl softly, to not excite Maggie. "And I think Maggie has had enough of you. And so have I."

"What are you going to do?!" gasped Iris, still in shock. "You don't know what you're doing! That could backfire on you!"

"I don't think poor Maggie is gonna do that," he cooed, looking to the crow. "Will you?" He then turned back to Iris. "Now go away Iris. I think we have had enough of you."

Maggie cawed silently, and let out a tiny squawk as Carl slowly petted the bird. Now both Wade and Micah, the now frog siblings, were staring at the sight of Iris cowering and Carl with the magical crow that's caused so much chaos.

"Carl! Wait!" cried Iris. "Your eyes! You're making a mist-"

But Iris didn't get a chance to finish. Carl had stroked the bird's back three times and in a pop Iris had disappeared. The witchy woman was gone in an instant. Erased. Iris no longer existed.

"Good bird," murmured Carl to Maggie. The crow then let out a faint squawk. He then turned to Wade and Micah the frogs, who looked as though they were happily hopping around. "What to do with you two?"

Carl remembered seeing Micah getting exactly what he deserved. But something about revenge began bother Carl a little. It was revenge that got Wade into so much trouble the past few days. It was revenge that brought a witch to their house. It was revenge that was the same witch's downfall.

Carl began to pace while gently holding Maggie, and while Wade and Micah hopped along side. Micah deserved what he got for being foul, but Wade also was pretty mean. And a little bit of Carl felt guilty for not trying to convince Wade to stop before things got worse.

"We gotta talk," said Carl to the two frogs. "I'm gonna turn you both human again."

"Wee-beep!" they both croaked in unison and in excitement.

With three strokes of the magical raven's back, and a quick "Poof!", the real and human Wade and Micah Brill were standing in the Brill household.

"I'm a girl again!" cried Wade excitedly, as she felt her face.

"I'm me!" added Wade, running his hands through his hair.

Carl who was overjoyed to see his friend back, began to look serious towards the elated Brills.

"Guys, we gotta talk," demanded Carl. "Sit down."

Both Brills stopped celebrating and immediately began to look serious and solemn. They then obliged Carl's order and sat down on the couch, with Carl sitting in their dad's laz-y-boy recliner, still gently holding Maggie in his arms.

"Uh Carl, why are your eyes -?" began Wade curiously. But she was cut off by Carl holding up a hand.

"No more talking to me," demanded Carl. "Talk to Micah. It's time."

Micah's good, but puzzled, mood faded back to disgust towards his little sister. Wade's mood faded as well. And soon the two were bickering once more.

"You really suck as an older brother, Micah." snapped Wade.

"You just turned me into a slug and a frog, and I suck?" he snapped back. "That's like two of those things," he pointed at Maggie, "Calling each other black."

"You made me do it Micah!" yelled Wade. "Reading my diary?! Parading around in my underwear?!"

"It was funny!" argued Micah. "Your friends thought it was!"

"Micah, what kinda person shows off their little sister's panties?" asked Wade, her eyes thin slits. "Oh yeah, the kinda creeps dad tells me that end up in prison!"

Micha blushed and made a guilty expression. Wade was right and she was now angrily glaring at her brother.

"Yeah, I messed up," grunted Wade. "I know I did. I accept it. But you were HORRIBLE to me."

Carl then turned to Micah. "Why?"

"Yeah? Why?" demanded Wade, frowning.

Micah now frowned. "Of course you'd need one of your friends to help you fight your battle."

"What does Carl have to do with anything?!" growled Wade, losing more patience.

"It's him and all of your other friends too!" shouted Micah. "They have EVERYTHING to do with it!"

Maggie and Carl looked at each other. Maggie let out a small "Caw." and Carl turned to Micah.

"Micah, are you jealous that Wade has friends?" asked Carl calmly.

"No, I actually like that she has friends." Micah responded in a low tone. "I just-.."

Carl's now yellow eyes began glow yellow once again. "You just what?" asked Carl. "Tell her."

"Why is it so easy for her to make friends?" blurted-out Micah. "Everyone talks about how cool Wade is, how she doesn't let anyone make fun of her having a boy's name! How she's so likable! Even mom and dad did that -!"

Micah stopped and turned away with a sniff. Wade was stunned, her mouth agape. Carl only continued to stare at Micah, with a solemn stare and was slowly petting Maggie.

"Micah, I don't know what to say," breathed Wade. "But why do you hate me for that?"

"Oh I don't hate you, stupid." snapped Micah, as Wade casted him a sympathetic glare. "Of course I love you, you're my sister. I just hate how I hate to become a model student to just even be noticed. When you came along it was all about you!"

"Micah, that's not my fault!" cried Wade indignantly. "I'm just nice, I don't know!"

"Yeah but-" interrupted Micah, but then he was interrupted as Carl held his hand up.

"Let her finish, Micah." he said seriously, almost ominously.

"Why should I listen to you or her?!" he snapped, beginning to stand. "You laughed while she turned me into a slug and a frog!"

Maggie screeched a angry sounding squawk and flapped her wings angrily. Micah knew Maggie was a dangerous creature. He lowered himself back into the couch slowly.

"Okay, okay!" he cried, holding his hands out. "I'll listen to her!"

"Speak, Wade." murmured Carl.

"Carl you're acting strangely, but I kinda like this new you!" chuckled Wade slightly. She then turned to Micah. "Micah, I'm not who I am to make you mad. I'm not who I am to ruin your life. I can't help that people like me. I'm just me."

Micah just stared blankly at her.

"Micah, mom and dad listen to you way more than me. Tell them how you feel," implored Wade. "I'm sorry, that me being here bothers you that bad. But that doesn't mean you get to just treat me like crap. I never did a single thing to you."

Micah sighed and hunched over in the sofa. "I know you didn't."

"I'm your sister, Micah," said Wade, placing her hand on her chest. "I'm not here to ruin your life. Stop ruining mine!"

"Fair enough," snorted Micah, crossing his arms. "Maybe I should stop."

"You need to stop," demanded Wade. "You're going to be on your own in two years, why do we have to spend it getting revenge on each other? Why can't we just be friends? Be my brother!"

"Explain what that means." ordered Carl, followed by a faint squawk from Maggie.

"It means I want a friend, a protector, a person I can rely on when I need help," explained Wade, putting her hand on Micah's shoulder. "Not someone who reads my diary, or puts my panties on their head."

"That was creepy of me to do, wasn't it?" asked Micah with a scrunched brow.

"Yes." answered both Wade and Carl in unison. Maggie let out an agreeing, "Caw! Caw!"

Micah shook his head and stood up from the sofa.

"I need time to take this all in. It's been a crazy day," he murmured. "But I promise I will stop ruining your life. And maybe some day we could be friends."

Wade now stood up, and held her hand out. "Truce?"

"Truce," he replied. But instead of shaking her hand, he hugged her. For the first time in Wade's young life, he hugged her. "I'm sorry, Wade."

"Apology accepted." replied Wade, softly.

Maggie tilted her head and fluttered her wings slightly. Carl petted her head silently three times.

"I'm going to go upstairs," said Micah, releasing Wade from the hug. "We can talk more later. I need to be alone." As he began to walk up the steps to his room, he stopped and turned to Carl. "Thank you for turning me back to myself."

"You're welcome, Micah." replied Carl, friendly sounding.

Wade nodded in agreement, and Micah turned around and walked slowly but surely to his room. After he shut his door, Wade then looked over in amazement to Carl.

"Thanks, Carl." she said fondly. "You really saved us both."

"You're welcome." said Carl, with a smile. "You're my friend. Isn't she, Maggie?"

Maggie nodded her head up and down and said, "Caw!".

"I meant to ask you," began Wade, staring at the crow. "Why does Maggie like you so much? Why are your eyes yellow?"

"I dunno," shrugged Carl. "We just mesh together well."

"But that doesn't explain your eyes, Carl." groaned Wade.

"We'll talk about it later," shrugged Carl, as he began to walk towards the door with Maggie. "Me and Maggie are glad you and your brother are done fighting."

"Me too," agreed Wade with a smile as she followed him yo the door. "I just hope he stays nice."

"Don't worry about that," laughed Carl, opening the front door. "Maggie came up with a plan. Your brother will become a frog again if he falls back into old ways."

Wade pondered what that could even mean. Maggie was a strange bird, and now Carl was acting weird and had eyes like Maggie.

"Carl Jeffers," began Wade slowly. "Is Maggie in your mind? Was she controlling you?"

As Carl began to stroll down Wade's yard sidewalk, he turned around and he and Maggie simply winked at Wade and Carl turned away still gently holding the mysterious and magical crow.

"I knew that bird was evil." whispered Wade as she shut her front door, now wondering how to save Carl.

THE END

A/N: This one was a shorter one, but I wanted to more focus on Maggie and powers she could have and kinda made it Wade and Micah's reconciliation because the ending to the original was such a downer.
